    The OG Musubi
    Steven T.

Capital Musubi just opened a new location inside Tysons Corner Mall. I got the Chicken and Egg Musubi (chicken karaage, egg, ketchup) and the OG Musubi (spam and eggs). Both were really good and very filling. These were very simple, good comfort food.

Walked by this spot dozens of times on my way to HeyTea. Finally stopped in one day and ordered the OG musubi at the kiosk. Nicely decorated interior with seating. Sevice was quick. I was surprised by how large the musubi was, it definitely was filling. It looked like a lot of rice, so I wasn't sure how flavorful it'd be, but every bite had a good amount of spam, eggs, and rice with the soy/teriyaki sauce. Nothing mind-blowing, but a good filling bite that's satisfying enough if you want something savory!

The chicken teriyaki musubi was great, but I don't know how to eat it without a fork. I got a side of kimchi and it was sadly disgusting. Did not taste fresh and looked blanched. I couldn't figure out how to open the onigri so I can't talk to it, lmao. The ube rice krispie was so goooooood though.

Decent option to grab some quick classic Asian food in the mall. Service and decorations are okay. A bit pricey, but look no further for your poke fix.

Came to check out Capital Musubi. They are located on the first floor in the smaller food court area on the Nordstrom's side near California Pizza Kitchen and next to the tea shop. You order with the kiosk. If you use the iPads to order it's a bit small unless you already know what to get. I ordered the Teriyaki Musubi and all their Musubi are super size. I would almost say it is like an onigiri cut in half. Has lots of rice but I think some more sauce was missing. It was a little dry. It is definitely filling. They also have a few dessert options to try.

I was unfortunately not that impressed by Capital Musubi. The teriyaki chicken had kind of a weird flavor and the eggs were ice cold. The restaurant is pretty much self service-ordering is only available through kiosks. If you need a quick bite, this restaurant is okay-ish but I think I would rather find somewhere else to go.

I thought Capital Musubi was something new and to be honest, as a fan of musubi, when I came across this place it piqued my interest. Musubi is usually something affordable and pretty simple as far as a meal. I ordered the chicken and egg musubi and I thought it was pretty good. The service at Capital Musubi pretty much doesn't exist? It's all ordered through a kiosk and then a worker yells out your order when it comes up. There's not really interaction. I think it's weird, but I guess that's where we're headed. Just pay with a card and then no more interaction? Anyways, the price of the musubi is a little bit pricey for what it is. Then again, with the rising costs of everything nowadays I guess it is what it is. If you're looking for cheap eats, it's beginning to be very rare to find something that's affordable. The musubi isn't small, so that's something, but it wasn't something that was mind blowing amazing. Overall, I would definitely recommend those who love musubi to try Capital Musubi out. It's different, with different flavors. Don't expect the best service, but you can definitely expect to have a different type of musubi experience.

Spam musubi is one of my go to comfort food. They have a lot of different musubi options here. We tried the egg/spam and salmon ones. They were alright, it was a lot of rice. We ordered using the kiosk and had limited interaction with the staff who were being the back counter. So when we wanted to ask for a cup for water, there was no one to ask until they came out when our food was ready. We were just ignored.

Designed for pick up and go to eat in the eating area outside in the hall. Service is okay, you can order from a person or the kiosk. Food is good but a bit pricey for what you're given.

Overall the food here is good! The musubi options are huge and one is definitely enough. I liked that there were several different types to choose from! I chose El Diablo, and while the chicken was tasty with the other toppings, I did feel like it was a bit dry. There is very limited seating inside, and you can only order through the kiosk/iPads. Definitely recommend not coming here during peak time on weekends, because the wait time to receive your food can be long, as expected. Would be interested to try the other options next time!

Kiosks to order and a few seats inside, a few more outside but tysons is always busy so it can be hard to find a spot Mango Sparkling - Very carbonated -- to the point where the intense bubbles were surprising and added a slightly bitter aftertaste. The mango flavor leaned artificial. 1/5 Spicy Chicken Musubi - Definitely large and generously filled, but the texture was off. The rice was mushy, and the seaweed was soft and soggy, making it hard to bite through. Chicken was slightly dry. Just okay overall. 1.75/5 Poke Bowl (Salmon + Spicy Salmon) - The rice was seasoned but still mushy. Toppings were light in proportion to the rice, so the balance felt off. Salmon was just okay -- not very fresh-tasting -- and the spicy salmon lacked flavor. 2.25/5

Nestled between Hey Tee and Gagawa on the first floor of Tyson's Corner Mall. Very filling and reasonably priced. Its a self served spot so didn't really interact much with the waiters. The flavors were pretty good, though I feel the rice could have used some furikake to add flavor. The Loco Moco Fries had some awesome gravy that I would definitely order it again.

I had the Diablo which is quite spicy but pretty good. Not sure why they force us to "choose" a sauce that add .75 cents more. It was quite larger than I expected it slightly hard to eat once you're half way through because it starts breaking an apart. The karage was slightly crunchy but the rice is very slight on the mushy side. Overall I would come back.

It was my first time trying fried oysters, and they absolutely did not disappoint! They were incredibly delicious and one of my favorite parts of the meal. I'll definitely be coming back for them. The atmosphere was also fantastic. The decor is adorable, and the music selection made the experience even more enjoyable. They played a mix of current hits and great throwbacks from the 2000s, which created such a fun and welcoming vibe. Our waitress was amazing. Even though she appeared to be having a long and busy shift, she consistently checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner. We really appreciated her attentiveness and kindness. The only downside was parking. There wasn't any available directly in front, so we ended up parking in the Walmart garage and paying $12. We forgot to ask whether the restaurant offers parking validation or a voucher, so that's something future guests may want to check on. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere made for a great birthday celebration. Highly recommend!

It's a super cute little spot conveniently located right next to the Walmart in Tysons. We started with the Seared Spicy Roll with Salmon. It was alright, but was pretty doused in spicy mayo, which made the roll a little too soggy for my liking. I ordered the Cheesy Tonkotsu, which was comforting and satisfying. I loved the generous amount of cabbage that came with it. My partner ordered the Chirashi and enjoyed it as well. Unfortunately, the next morning, my partner became sick and ended up vomiting twice. Of course, I can't say for certain that it was from the food here, but the timing was concerning and definitely affected our overall experience. Staff was friendly and service was prompt, but the experience left us feeling a little hesitant about returning.

We've had company parties, business lunches, family birthdays, and many gatherings here over the years. Because of that, our most recent experience was especially disappointing. We completely understand that prices have increased. We don't mind paying more when the quality of the food is there. Unfortunately, this time the steak quality was extremely disappointing. Several of us ordered filet mignon, and the meat was incredibly chewy and tough. My kids immediately complained that they could barely enjoy their steaks, and my husband had the same issue. For a steakhouse, this is extremely disappointing. Filet mignon is supposed to be one of the more tender cuts, so having it come out this chewy was very frustrating. What made it even more disappointing was that we brought the entire family out expecting to have a nice meal together, and a big part of the meal was simply not enjoyable. When you're paying higher prices for a steak dinner, you expect the quality of the meat to be worth it. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling like we spent a lot of money on steaks that we could barely enjoy. I was fortunate enough to order the lobster, shrimp, and scallops, and those were actually very good and cooked perfectly. So our disappointment was specifically with the steak quality. I did speak with the manager while we were there and explained our concerns. They told me they would look into it, and I appreciate them taking the time to listen. However, after being loyal customers for more than five years, it was really upsetting to see such a noticeable decline in the quality of the steaks. We have always recommended this place and have continued coming back because of our past experiences. But if the steak quality continues like this, it will be difficult to justify returning, especially with the higher prices. I truly hope management addresses the quality of the steaks because this was one of the most disappointing meals we've had here in the five years we've been coming.

They were kind enough to allow us to do the AYCE Dusk and Flame menu but there were rules. Only 3 orders per table could be put in, then you had to wait until you finished them before putting in the next set of orders. You could only order 1 time per 2 people from their signature dish section. One of those signature dishes was a single 2 inch long wagyu taco. Imagine you are on a date and you order that as your one signature dish. Who gets to eat it? The cold Tapas items were terrible. The fish was not fresh and poorly seasoned. Tasted very fishy. We ordered the wagyu skewers and the meat was fine but there was no seasoning on it at all and no sauces or dipping salt to go with it as you would expect at a Japanese restaurant. The only thing that was good was the karaage and the wagyu fried rice. As we sat at the table we were dive bombed by gnats and bitten by mosquitoes. Our waitress was great but the mgt did not train her well because she was unsure of many things. Mgt also seemed slightly loss and roaming around. At the end of the night I gave them my parking ticket to validate and they said they did, but I was still charged $8 to leave the garage. This is a reopening but there were too many issues that were not resolved. I have never been charged that much money for such an unsatisfactory meal in my life. I will not return, and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone I like
