We had a few minutes to kill before our food tour and popped in for a Chocolate Covered Cherry Mocha, which was fantastic! Being a capital one member, I have been to this location a few times. While there are many great coffee shops in the area, this is one of our "go to" places when w need a quick "pick me up". The drinks "as is" are a bit on the sweeter side but still good. I enjoy their espresso and often do a "quad" instead of the standard double. Plus, it's half off if you use a capital one or Discover card. We usually just sit for a break and then go. However, they do have plenty of seating and meeting areas. Excellent place! I love that Capital One had partnered with a small roaster that's sustainable in their production of coffee. Verve Coffee is delicious and worth the time to try! I really like the capital one café because there are study rooms for people who work in nonprofits and students where you can host meetings at. There are two smaller rooms for privacy that you can reserve on the second floor. It's very spacious with lots of seating available. You can also see pioneer square from the second floor. Pumpkin pie latte w/ oatmilk is delicious. I also really enjoyed the candy apple matcha soda. And, the lavender latte was great. The people who work here are so sweet, nice, and professional. They're the reason this cafe is getting two stars. My issue is with the operation of this cafe. I understand this is downtown Portland and prices are due to be higher than normal, but this was really surprising. I paid $10 for a breakfast sandwich that I could have gotten across the street at Starbucks for $5, and it would have tasted better at Starbucks! Something needs to be adjusted- either the price needs to come down or the quality of the food needs to come up. The staff is really nice and they serve Peet's coffee. Their space is also large and open with plenty of tables! If you need a change of space or a spot to drink coffee and eat a snack/meal this is a great little spot. The coffee is Peet's, and not my favorite but it was hot and on the way to the building. This Capital One Cafe has 2 floors with plenty of seating available! It is the perfect place to work or study. There are various room sizes where you could take calls or have meetings. They also have Capital One bankers and atm available if needed! The cafe has an extensive list of drinks and is 50% off when you pay with your capital one card! When I visited, the espresso machine was broken so they couldn't make any espresso drinks. We ended up ordering a matcha latte and cafe au lait (dripped coffee with milk). Both were disappointing drinks... the matcha latte was mainly milk with a small hint of matcha flavor and the cafe au lait was not strong at all, basically equivalent to a kcup coffee. I visited other Capital One Cafes before and this one definitely has potential, I would stick with the espresso drinks next time. Ok the only thing I need to say that sucks about this location is the food. I had a bagel that honestly, I've had a better bagel at the grocery store. Very unremarkable and inelegant. Other than that! Bad service. Went there to get some help with my account and the rep was a young Asian guy with a bad attitude thinking that he was better than us. 09/18/21: 4.75 out of 5 - Came to deposit money into my Capital One account. Seems to the only place I am available to do so in the Portland area. It is a nice set up and spacious. Nice seating area with WiFi available, and clean bathrooms. The kept bathrooms alone is enough reasons to uptick my score for this establishment. The Capital One staff are quite nice, and very informative. Kept it urbanly professional. The ATM is simple to use with updated tech for an ATM. The Peet's Coffee staff are also quite nice and helpful. They did a great job with my Iced Mocha. Overall, I feel that the Capital One Cafe is a wonderful concept, and would like to see more available throughout the Pacific Northwest. read more

I am having a day of fun. I kept seeing the commercials for the Capital One cafe and thought to myself... I probably won't get to enjoy this unless I am in a big city. While walking downtown with a friend, we spotted a Capital One cafe and I was in awe... and thought no way... we are about to step into the Capital One cafe?! Well I have to say it's a pretty swank and sweet spot. And they had the golden turmeric latte! You know I had to try it... and I learned today that if you are Capital one member you can use your card for 50% off their crafted lattes or coffee! And marble counters?! Who doesn't love a marble background for their photos?! And to sit and enjoy?! :) Yeah--- I didn't carry my Capital One card on me today and you better bet I will definitely bring it next time. This literally is next to the Max stop in Pioneer. How convenient! Great location. It's OPEN on Sunday another plus why I gave it 5 stars. And the golden turmeric latte is strong if you are not into turmeric so maybe ask for it to be on lighter side. I personally loved it. And the layered of ginger taste after the foam with the espresso was a delish touch! The other real reason to add for five stars I wanted the latte art and asked for it at the end and the gals were so friendly and redid my latte and gave be a beautiful latte art to enjoy. One thing I would have enjoyed it more was to get my coffee in a porcelain cup to enjoy my cup of latte more while sitting in at the cafe. That would have been nice if ya ask me.
