Unfortunately, this location didn't feel very warm or welcoming. After I finally found a seat, the host told me, "Unfortunately, we're working over here, but you can sit anywhere else." The interaction felt awkward, especially since the area appeared to be used for opening boxes of Capital One tote bags in a space where customers would normally work or sit. It would also be nice to see more comfortable seating options. A few couches and some higher stools or chairs would make a big difference. Many of the current seats are so low that it's uncomfortable to work on a laptop for any length of time. In my experience, the Downtown location has the friendliest hosts, and the Hollywood location stands out for its welcoming hosts, great baristas, a more comfortable seating area, and an overall inviting atmosphere. Their new summer sips are also pretty good! The Blueberry Ube Iced Latte is a sweet fruity drink but I didn't taste much of the blueberry or Ube in particular. The coffee flavor is definitely there, but it isn't my favorite drink. The Blueberry Ube Iced Matched Latte was similar in taste but didn't stand out to me. Good working space and a clean restroom. I've heard about Capital One's occasional free drinks for ages, but their cafes aren't that convenient. When Capital One offered 3.9% on their CDS recently, I couldn't resist checking it out. Thanks to MLB Mondays, I downloaded their reusable free drink coupon, which provides a complimentary hand-crafted beverage every Monday this summer through September 7th and headed to the corner of 4th and Broadway. The area is super busy, so you're going to have to pay for parking. I used the public lot on 2nd just north of Broadway. Ran into a few sketchy people as I strolled to the cafe. Inside, the establishment is light and airy. Since it was a Monday, it was crowded. A friendly guy made sure everyone downloaded a coupon for a free drink before they ordered at the counter. There was a line, but it moved quickly. I can't drink coffee in the afternoon if I intend to sleep that night, so I opted for one of their Seasonal Sips: Iced Island Spritz, which is normally $7. While they made my drink, I wandered around, noting the glassed-in meeting rooms, the community room and the line for the restroom. After I collected my spritz, the only place to sit was at a low counter designated for banking customers. Within seconds, a young man asked me if I had banking questions, so I never got around to photographing my refreshing libation. Since this is a banking cafe, I assumed I could write a check or hand a teller some cash when I opened an account. Nope! Everything is done online. He pulled out an iPad and helped me set up a CD. The whole process took less than ten minutes, and he explained how I could go into any Capital One Cafe if I had questions or forgot my password. Coincidentally, he turned out to live on my street! If I'm ever in the neighborhood on a Monday this summer, I'll drop in again for a complimentary drink. read more

I love this Capital One cafe! It's located right across the street from the promenade and mall yet still feels a little secluded once you're inside! Seating can be a bit tricky to find as it's always busy here, but we lucked out and grabbed some comfy seats with a table. I ordered a cinnamon maple latte with oat milk and it was fantastic! I loved the contrast of sweetness and spice in the drink and the oat milk was frothed to perfection. On occasion, they give out free coupons for coffee (be sure to check their Instagram for that!) but if you have any capital one card, drinks are always 50% off which is such a great deal! I just wish they didn't charge extra for nondairy milk! The cafe is big, bright and clean and all of the employees are friendly and easy to interact with. Parking is super easy in the free parking garage at the mall for 90 minutes free! read more

A coffee shop at the bank. I kinda get the concept but also done. I like the airy feel with all of the windows so sunlight can just shine right through. Service is pretty quick and they are all very friendly. The drinks though are ok. I am a capital one holder so it's 50% off and that's a major reason for coming. The place is empty compared to our Capital Ones. But there isn't any homeless people inside. The Wi-Fi works. The staff are nice. There are ALOT of tables and seats here. Having a Capitol One card, it is such a treat to be able to visit the different capitol one cafes to study or catch up with friends. This is one of the largest Capitol One cafes I've been to! The ceiling was so high and there are ample amounts of seating spaces out. There is only one bathroom however and you'll likely need to talk with one of the staff or security guards to have access to it. I got my usual chai latte with almond milk. Been here several times and have always had a great experience. The baristas are super friendly and make great drinks. I've tried a few different drinks and all have been good. The honey lavender syrup is so good. I ordered an iced latte with it last time with half sweetness and it was perfect. They also do some fun seasonal drinks like the matcha lemonade and the s'mores iced shaken coffee. The working areas inside are great as well and there is a good amount of space. I am usually in every morning before work and the only complaint I have had is I feel they are understaffed for weekday mornings. I came in today around lunch to show my girlfriend the area and catch a movie. I was excited to show her this cute cafe I go to every morning, only today was the opposite experience. where I am usually warmly greeted by a young male barista, we came in to three young girl baristas chatting and waited a decent time before being acknowledged, not greeted. I ordered my usual and my girlfriend decided to not grab a drink. I paid, and watched the baristas chat before making my drink, and waited an extra minute as they finished laughing before handing me my drink. My vanilla latte was extremely sweet, as the barista free poured syrup into the cup while chatting. I was just disappointed that I thought I was going to show my girlfriend this adorable cafe for our weekend date, only to walk in to find I'm guessing their D staff on a slow day. I do remain hopeful to see my usual barista come Monday morning, and won't need to find a new coffee shop just yet. read more

Stopped by the Capital One Café in Santa Monica and tried their seasonal strawberry cold foam matcha. The matcha powder itself was decent--not the richest, but not bad either. What really made the drink stand out was the strawberry cold foam. It was sweet, fluffy, and added a nice twist to the matcha. They were out of the strawberry powder for the actual drink when we visited, so we didn't get the full experience, but the foam made up for it. It's a unique combo that worked well together. Parking is mostly street parking, so be prepared to pay, which is a bit of a downside. Also, drinks here are definitely on the pricier end for what you get. That said, the seasonal drink was really yummy overall, and the café has a nice, relaxed vibe. Worth stopping by if you're in the area. read more

The matcha drink here unfortunately tasted terrible: very powdery, super milky, and no taste of matcha at all. I came here to study however and I enjoyed the space very much since everyone here was mostly quiet. If there was chatter, they kept their voices low, including the staff. I like how the staff here greet you when you walk in. Good amount of seats, clean tables, and a comfortable space because of how much staff are here checking on its customers. The employees were friendly and the coffee (sourced from Verve) was good, with WiFi available--those are the main pros. Unfortunately, the facility falls short compared to other Capital One Cafes. The space felt cold and uninviting, with dated furniture, a slightly dirty look, and a strange odor. There's only one PIN-protected restroom, and the biggest downside was the lack of power for the outlets (which seems to be something other reviewers have been complaining about for months - so I suspect maybe they won't ever fix this?). As a member, they said I could book a nook (conference room) to connect for power, but all were reserved until tomorrow. It's possible the café is intentionally less cozy, given the Santa Monica location and surrounding unhoused population. Overall, it was a disappointing visit; I wouldn't go out of my way to return, though I might take coffee to go if nearby. By contrast, the Glendale location is excellent and I highly recommend that one to everyone! The short - Employees and coffee were great, but the facility and amenities need improvement. read more

Falsely advertise WiFi-- there is NO WiFi. They completely taped off every single outlet. Unless, you're a capitol one member, then you can go into a meeting style room and use the power. They say "our power is currently out that's why the outlets are taped". If the power is out, how does it work in the rooms with members? I pay for parking and spend $15 on coffee and water to do work, and only after they have my money do they let me know the outlets are not "working". Nice. Please do not advertise WiFi if you don't have it. read more

I love!! This was our first time at a Capital One cafe since we didn't have any where we live, so we went to one when we could. Place is super chill, and it would be a great place to work or just hang our with friends. Drinks menu is a long one, but it encompasses all you need! We tried seasonal drinks and also some favorites like the matcha latte, and the ginger turmeric latte and loved both the latter a bunch. Not too sweet, and made just nicely hot enough. Service was super quick and friendly too. Definitely worth popping by. read more

I visited this cafe because I got a coupon from Capital One for a free coffee, so I figured I finally pay this bank cafe a visit. Yeah, it's an odd combo from the outside and even from the inside, too. But I have to say, I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would! I got a latte (with the free coupon) and the breakfast sandwich (which I paid for out of pocket). Both were really great and were prepared fast. They make their coffee with Verve, which is always great. I'm surprised I liked it as much as I did!
