Stumbled upon this place after eating Thanksgiving lunch. $5 for half an hour of free play. They have numerous pinball games (ranging from classic 60s to modern). There is also a pool table and a Street Fighter cocktail cabinet game. They also have a few beers on tap. Neat place to kill some time and bring back some memories.

The best $5 spent. 30 minutes to play ALLLLL the machines. They also serve beer ($8). Before heading out I noticed a Frogget and Ms PacMan (0.25 per play just like old times) by the bathrooms. And a pool table. This is such a cool spot and the service was excellent.

This place is a gem. I paid only $5 for 30 minutes of unlimited play. I was planning to get a pinball machine at home but I don't need to anymore. My favorite machines were Deadpool, walking Dead, X-Men, and Star Wars. It's only $15 for all day play. What a deal! I'm definitely coming back. My son enjoyed it so much.

Usually when my father comes from out of town to visit he wants to swing by old Sacramento. Not to often do things change, I think but most recently we noticed a sign for a new pinball arcade inside and so we were off to check it out. The guy at the front desk was super friendly and explained it all to us. We basically paid $5 each for thirty minutes of free play. At first my father thought it was silly but three minutes in and he was transformed into a kid again and was bouncing machine to machine like a pinball himself. We really had a blast playing all the different themed pinball machines. With some of my favorites being the X-men, Game of Thrones, Monopoly, and various others. Those thirty minutes flew by but we will for sure be back when in the area. They even have snacks & beer, an a billiard table. Didn't happen to see if they had darts though.

This is such a perfect environment for fun at any age. $5 a person gets you 30 minutes of pinball. It can be a bit loud inside because it is small, but bearing that in mind I would come in the early afternoons to avoid the noisier crowds. They serve some beers and other soft drinks. The hostess and attendants were very helpful and kind!

Amazing local pinball business in Old Sacramento. They have rotating machines , an app for scoring which goes on the tv , beer and tournaments. Definitely a mush check spot.

We've been waiting for a place like this! My teenage son loves pinball and our family loves craft beer and supporting local businesses. We discovered the arcade while moseying around old town after lunch. We didn't have a ton of time so we opted for the 30 min for $5 option - which is a steal! They have a separate section with a pool table too. So happy we found this.

    Lots of pinball machines

Every Thursday after I get off work on K Street, everyone makes us feel genuinely welcome. Elijah, Georgio, Ryan, and Asra are all amazing. They remember our usual orders, take the time to have real conversations with us, and always make us feel like valued regulars instead of just another table. I also want to give a special shoutout to the gentleman working security on Thursday nights. Every single time I come in, he greets me with a smile and says "welcome back." He always checks our bags, and as someone who works downtown and sees firsthand some of the things happening around Sacramento, I genuinely appreciate that they take safety seriously. It makes me feel comfortable coming in after work. Thank you to everyone for making Coin-Op feel like more than just a bar. The staff truly make the experience. Plus the games are always a plus. I grew up in the golden era of gaming, the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s when weekends meant blowing into dusty cartridges, late-night multiplayer battles, and flipping through Game Informer magazines dreaming about the next big release. Those games weren't just entertainment, they were core memories of my childhood. Now, seeing my son discover and fall in love with those same games and magazines has been something really special. Ever since we moved to Sacramento a few years ago, every visit to 1-Up has felt like stepping into a real-life time machine. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by nostalgia, memories, and pure joy. Whether it's seeing shelves packed with retro classics or spotting consoles you haven't touched in 20+ years, it instantly takes you back. The owner and staff are all incredibly cool, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about gaming history. I'm always blown away by the little-known facts and stories they know about these old-school titles. You can tell this isn't just a business to them, it's something they truly love. Special shoutout to Travis for the amazing customer service and for hooking my son up with a PS2 Slim in fantastic working condition. Seriously, where else can you walk in today and find a retro console like that, fully functional, along with a huge selection of games ready to relive those memories? I would love nothing more than to see businesses like 1-Up continue to succeed and thrive in the face of online competition. Places like this keep the memories, community, and fun alive for old gamers and new generations alike. Sacramento is lucky to have them. Game over? Not here at 1-Up, the memories just keep hitting "Continue."

They carry video games from a plethora of consoles. They also have collectibles, box/collector sets, videos, etc. Long story short, I left with a pile of goodies. I thought the store was spacious to walk around with other people around. The displays were great. I liked how they converted an old grocery store veggie stand into a display on the right side. The only bummer is the tape and stickers used on the merchandise. I bought some mint in box items and the sticker price tag was so hard to peel off. It left a very bad sticky residue. I was able to clean it off most of the items. But, I worried that the paper boxes would be damaged if I used a solution. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I enjoyed the little lounge area in the front right while waiting for friends to checkout.
