Now the meat came out overcooked, and thus the eggs were dry, it was an average omelette, nothing to get excited about. We went here the first day and it ended up being one of the best meals we had on the trip. The service was great. Their parking is a little limited but no big deal. First let me start by saying that my travel companion enjoyed most of his meal, other than the biscuits that were not fully cooked. My gluten free pancake, while having good flavor was exceptionally dry. The service is what should have given this place a 0 star review if it was possible. The waitress was surley, almost downright rude. That is until she brought out the check and was quite cheerful at that time. Pricing was ok...not good, not exceptionally bad. Last but not least, the other patrons had screaming children and apparently the parents were not taught responsible parenting. If your child is screeching like a rhesus monkey in heatn you should gather that child and remove them from the social situation until they are calm enough to re-enter society. Even slightly older children who should have already learned the difference between an INSIDE voice and an OUTSIDE voice should be taken outside and allowed to burn off their energy before coming back inside. I have not been here since I moved from Williamsburg and it is worth the trip back. I had "The Works Omelet" and it was wonderful, the home fried potatoes were perfect and I even got a huge fluffy pancake. Well worth the trip into Williamsburg and made my day. I have lived in the area for a while now and this place has always been here. I was craving pancakes and finally decided to give it a go and I was not disappointed! Stopped here for breakfast on our way home from vacation. The breakfast was good, but not out of the ordinary. My daughter and I shared the colonial breakfast, definitely was enough for both of us to eat. My daughter's friend had the French toast and my husband had the cheese omelet, all portions were huge. This place had the atmosphere of a crummy retirement home, down to the abusive management. In the 35 min we spent there waiting on our food to arrive I've got to see the whipped cream slipped off of my pancakes and onto the floor right next to the table (waitress was in way too big of a hurry even though the place was far from being busy) and then still served on the table, with a cup of whipped cream delivered afterwards.... simultaneously with this fiasco happening there was a "manager" that chased a customer out into the parking lot. The customer was seated a couple of tables away from us, had enjoyed a meal with his family, went to the register and paid only to be chased outside by the same "manager" who was flailing his arms - obviously agitated and aggressive towards the customer in the parking lot... in front of his wife and kid.... talking down on this guy who was - deaf..... as all this unfolded I asked for my tab and had paid for the food out of respect for the waitress and the staff who worked there, but while I was at the register I got to see the said "manager" again, talk down on this customer and the lady who operated the register. Customer was clearly embarrassed, and when shown the corrected bill just shrugged and motioned that it was no issue and handed over his card. The "manager" kept on lashing out at the cashier to "show him what was taken off" (to show the customer) and she was clearly embarrassed, too. And then, after the bill was settled he (the "manager") proceeded to ask the customer, in a rude voice again, if everything is ok now ... are you good? Are you good now? - he kept asking... He had asked me something while I was at the register, too - and addressed me as "Sir" but the tone of his voice and watching the clearly embarrassed staff there made it hard to even acknowledge him. I hope the staff there will demand to be properly treated and not allow themselves be belittled so. As for the gentleman with his family (wife and a little child) - I am sure he would've said more if he were able to speak and was not so embarrassed and too much of a nice guy. But noooo they sit 7, 6, 5, 4 tops before me. 20 mins go by and I'm finally sat at the empty tables I've been staring at the whole time. 15 mins for my waiter to come by for drinks. Another 10 for me to place my food. 25 mins for my food to come out and it's all COLD. Blueberry pancakes, TOUGH AND COLD, Homefries, UNSEASONED AND COLD, Bacon, FLABBY AND COLD. I barely took 2 bites and was done. I've never received such bad service and food. I could have cooked at home and had something exceptionally better. If you want breakfast in Williamsburg I'm sure there an iHop that will treat you better. read more

Rafa had the fish n chips and liked the fish but hated the mashed potatoes (he subbed instead of chips). In his defense, the potatoes looked like -- actually, I just don't even know how to describe them. They should change the name of this place... Capitol Griddle or Capitol Diner. Why? Because the waffles and French toast are MUCH better than the pancakes. I had the pecan pancakes... I ate one of the three and my friend ate half of one. Both of us agree that the pancakes are way too heavy (thick). The French toast, however, is pretty great. In fact, I wrote out a suggestion for my pancake recipe that everyone (who has tried them) loves. I have even earned the moniker, "Pancake Master." They were very accommodating to my service dog and the wait staff was quite attentive. Two scrambled eggs and three large pancakes were $10 - a bit steep for below average pancakes. But, again, the French toast was good enough to redeem my rating from 3 stars. Ironically, we noticed a sign out front - they're looking for cooks. Hmmmm wonder why. I hope they use my pancake recipe and earn the their namesake. If I lived in the area, I would certainly entertain the thought of making my pancakes at this place. read more

I'm in town for work and saw the menu in my hotel's menu guide. I truly did not expect it to be this good. The blueberry pancakes had Real fresh wild blueberries. Tiny and bursting with flavor. It's been a long time since I've had real blueberries. I mentioned this to my guy and he said "we bought fresh blueberries last time we were at Costco." Men. I ordered one egg and home fries, and that was the biggest portion of home fries I think I've ever had. Toast was a little burnt on the edges and a little soggy in the middle. My friend ordered the fried bologna and the slice was very thick. If you order biscuits instead of the toast, two decent sized biscuits come out. I would recommend that choice if you are hungry.
