Wow! Had the pleasure of dining at Capolinea on my wife's birthday and we enjoyed and loved the entire experience from start to finish. We came on a Thursday at 6:30 and the restaurant was very calm and the waiters gave us great attention and service which added to the absolutely divine meal. Since it was my wife's birthday they started us off with a glass of champagne and a wonderful appetizer on the house which was truly a nice gesture and high quality. The appetizers we ordered were carne cruda and the Burrata which were both absolutely fabulous. For entrees we ordered the Spagetti Nero (a little spicy but delicious!), and the aged steak called the Bistecca. We also ordered a side of their specialty mushroom dish which was flavorfully and well prepared deliciousness. For cocktails we had the Bee & Blossom (amazing and very fun presentation show), and the Skyfall. Both amazing but I will give extra marks and recommendation for the Bee & Blossom. For dessert they brought us a complimentary dessert for my wife's birthday which was excellent but we ordered a scoop of sorbet and pistachio gelato which were both absolutely fantastic. I recommend getting a glass of their recommended wine from Napa valley to pair with the aged steak if you decide to go that route. A perfect meal to celebrate a special occasion makes me giddy with gratitude and happiness. I want to make sure I recognize some of the people who made our dinner at Capolinea absolutely extraordinary. This was a solid dinner during our stay at the Signia Hotel in Atlanta. We made reservations and arrived to find the restaurant surprisingly quiet. The service was friendly, and we were seated at a table with a beautiful view of Mercedes Benz Stadium. We started with the calamari and burrata, both of which were delicious. The calamari was grilled, which was a refreshing change from the usual breaded and fried version. Each bite was very tender. I ordered the whole branzino with salsa verde, while my husband chose the Chatel Farms Bistecca. I enjoyed the branzino, but the salsa verde needed a bit more salt or acidity to brighten the dish. Look, I was hesitant. Anytime my wife sets up a dinner at a restaurant in a hotel, always hesitant. Cap was not that. Capolinea is hands down one of the best places in Atlanta. The atmosphere is spectacular. The views of the Benz is amazing. From the design of the restaurant to the sight lines outside, it's unique to Atlanta and to this location alone. Then there's the service. Our waitress was top notch. Hands down up there with the most knowledgeable while super personable. The bartenders were also amazing. Shout out to Armani who killed it with the tableside Martini service. Top tier. Finally, but most importantly, the food. My wife and I did the tasting menu. I did the meat version, her the vegetarian as she is due to health issues. Both were amazing. The starter was super good, but sneaky. You see it and think, oh no, small portions. Then the. Bread service slaps you in the face. Home made under direction of their pastry Chef Daniella. I can't accurately say how tasty this bread was. And the butter, almost liquid soft. The calamari was tasty, but the veggie option (burrata) might be even better. Don't sleep on it. Next up, fresh made pasta (pansotti). There's been two other places I've had that made pasta like my Sicilian wife. Chef Christopher Li is on point here. And the filling, good grief good. For the final portion, petit wagyu for us carnivores, and cavolo for the veggie lovers. Both were spectacular. Honestly, I'd give it to the wagyu with the fried gnocchi. That cabbage was right there though. Never would have thought as a Georgia boy, red blooded meat eater I'd say cabbage was giving meat a run for its money, but here is a great example of vegetarian dishes done right. And tasty. Finally the La Dolce Vita, or their version of Tiramisu. This falls under, words can't properly describe. The hardened chocolate crust over the cake was a great touch. Then add to that the chocolate sauce and gelato, it's just a different combination of textures and overall experience to a classic dessert. Look, this place is one of the hidden gems of Atlanta. I want this place to be appreciated as the stellar restaurant it is, but I also wanna make I last minute reservation without having to book three weeks in advance as it deserves. There are very few places that surprise you as throughly and completely as Cap does. Show up, eat, love and laugh as we did. Oh, and the table side martini service. I mean, I can't even. Horrible customer service!! I'm staying at the hotel and I come down to the retirement with open seats in the bar area. So I was told that the seats were reserved and to come back. I come back an hour later and all the seats are open on the bar area. The staff and managers are horrible and don't acknowledge you once in the restaurant. Someone came in after me mind you and apparently she worked here. All attention was on her and I was left to figure it out. The manager staff is horrible af and the hostess is horrible af. The bartender ends up coming to me and taking my order. This place is beside themselves with the way they treat certain people or race of people. read more

This is what we ordered: 4 Star (Very Good): Gnocchi Fritto (side) 3.5 Star (Good): Calamari (appetizer), Filetto Wagyu (entrée), Cioccolato Tosco (dessert) 3 Star (OK): Burrata con Zucca (appetizer) 2.5 Star (Below average): Creste di Gallo Alla Bolognese (entrée) 1.5 Star (Bad): Ossobuco (entrée) So there were no 5- or 4.5-star dishes. The best dish turned out to be one of the sides and none of the entrées truly impressed us. The flavorless Ossobuco was one of the worst we've ever tried. Their famed Creste di Gallo Alla Bolognese was pedestrian, at best matching what one would try at the Olive Garden. Our server, Lia, was very attentive and efficient. And the views of the Mercedes-Benz stadium are impressive. The ambiance is modern, upscale, and relaxed, yet the absence of tablecloths left us underwhelmed. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. In addition to the long wait, we were unhappy with the way we were treated, especially by the person working at the front desk. Someone welcoming guests should be more friendly, professional, and empathetic, especially knowing that many customers travel from far away to visit the restaurant. We waited for a long time and were told that we could not be seated because one member of our group had not arrived yet. We were informed that everyone had to be physically present before we could be given a table. To us, this policy made no sense and only added to our frustration. The wait became so excessive that one of our friends gave up and left. What made the experience even more upsetting was that, because of the way we were treated, I personally left feeling discriminated against and unwelcome. Whether intentional or not, no customer should leave a restaurant feeling that way. We expected much better customer service and a more reasonable approach to managing the waitlist. Lovely addition to downtown Atlanta hotel district. The hotel's various bars and restaurants were hopping and nothing major was going on this weekend. The restaurant itself was quite lovely with great decor. Reservations are a must. The food was excellent and the service was great. A tad bit loud for my taste and the table had a draft. If you like Martinis you must try the Capolinea Martini. It's their version of a Vesper and the presentation is fantastic as they make the coldest azz Martini in Atlanta. They "freeze" the glass with some kind of liquid nitrogen or something and then pour your drink. All this is done at your table. The restaurant will comp your valet if you spend more than $200 which is easy to do for 4 people, otherwise it's $40-$60. read more

We were at the Hilton Signia for four nights and ate here three times. The food is great except the mushroom pizza was way too salty. So I'd either avoid that or ask them to cut down on the salt. That's the only issue we had. This is a very relaxed but attentive space. Everyone was friendly, they recognized us and were all welcoming. Jared our waiter on our last night here was fantastic. He was friendly and made sure he addressed our allergy concerns. I like a wait staff that is engaging and willing to have a conversation about the food and other things also. Armani was also wonderful. He was our bartender/ server the night before and today he made us a signature cocktail at the table. It was very theatrical and delicious. He was also someone who was very engaged and both looked like they really liked their jobs and people. I also want to mention Litzy. She was very sweet and helpful when she was our server the other day. The place is clean and bright and and open. Lastly the food. With the exception of that mushroom pizza everything was delicious. Nothing was over seasoned and portions, while not gigantic, were a perfect portion. This is not a cheap place to eat but worth every penny. I would eat here again if we were staying longer. My husband and I had the privilege of dining at Capolinea for the first time this Valentine's Day, and to say we were blown away would be an understatement. The service was incredible, and the food was absolutely exceptional. We especially enjoyed the Maltagliati con tartufo. The noodles were clearly homemade and perfectly cooked al dente. The sauce was beautifully creamy with just the right amount of truffle. We both agreed it was the most authentic pasta we've had in the United States, and it truly reminded us of Italy. The Tricolore salad was another favorite, and we greatly enjoyed the filetto wagyu as well. The desserts were equally impressive and perfectly complemented the courses before them. Capolinea also offers an extensive wine list and a thoughtful selection of spirits, which their talented bartender crafted into beautiful cocktails. This month is full of birthdays and weddings and a lot of different celebrations at the end of summer and I'm here for it all. Was really excited to come to this restaurant, italian is my favorite cuisine and Capolinea had amazing reviews, so I definitely wanted to come here at some point. Capolinea is located in the brand new Signia Hotel by Hilton, the whole building is gorgeous. It is right outside of Mercedes-Benz stadium, the ambience from when you walk into the hotel all the way until you arrive at the restaurant is mesmerizing. A lot of bright colors and lights, extremely clean aesthetic. In the restaurant, they had a bar that was separate from everything, plenty of seats that were very comfortable and intimate, they also had outdoor seating that overlooked the stadium that were really cool to look at or take pictures of. I know I said I would do a better job of remembering names but I do not remember who our waitress was, I remember she was fairly new to the job. She told the party she had been working there for a few months and was enjoying it so far. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable, she answered all of our questions and gave great suggestions based on the information we were giving her. This is the best kind of waitress that kind of guides you to make sure you maximize your experience at the restaurant so shout out to her. For the food, Capolinea had a really interesting menu full of intriguing dishes I wanted to try, my favorite thing I ate by far was the Beef Carpaccio, it was the appetizer we had. It was served with bread and you put the Carpaccio on it and the taste was splendid. I could have eaten just that all night. The other things I had included: Margherita pizza, and the Ravioli D'Anatra. One important comment that would be disingenuous if I didn't add is that the portions served at the restaurant are extremely small! The food was great but was not filling at all, that is not a knock on it at all by the way. Just be mindful to not skip lunch thinking you'll have a big dinner lol. So I've been here several times. The first time I went, the service was impeccable. Jared does an amazing job with pacing the meal and ensuring that the food comes out in a way that makes the meal an amazing experience, no matter what from the menu options we ordered. He also ensured that he was mindful of the time throughout the evening, as my group and I were attending a ballet performance afterwards. The second time I came, I sat at the bar. I understand that the bartenders want to have fun, but a few were behaving very unprofessionally, which was awkward. I would recommend being mindful of when customers can see your interactions. I won't elaborate further there, but my service itself was still handled very well. The food was amazing again. The third time I went, back for another reservation in the main dining area, the service was alright. The food seemed a little off too, like some items had been left sitting out for too long after they'd been prepared and got to the our table cold. Asked for bread, which did not get to the table until after the entrees. A salad two of us ordered arrived with the entrees instead of before. One person's entree did not show up until 20 minutes after everyone else's did (and he was offered no compensation or even an apology). It was obvious the server simply forgot to put his order in (even though it was the exact same entree that two other people ordered). Then another 15 minutes to get the bill brought to us. A service disaster! Not sure if this experience is indicative of the restaurant as a whole, but if not, this server needs to be promptly retrained in pretty much everything. Bill and Kiki's last minute adventure. Due to a sudden storm that my wife had to drive through in order to bring me something. I left at home, I decided to valet park her and take her to dinner here at the Signia, by Hilton hotel. We chose the higher end restaurant in the hotel called Capolinea and what a great choice it was. As we often do, we sat at the bar with Crystal and Megan, working the cocktails and wine, a great place to sit, visit and have dinner. We started with an appetizer of grilled calamari which was topped with season, the breadcrumbs and cilantro. Kiki did not like this appetizer because she is not a fan of cilantro to her it tastes like soap. However, I enjoyed it immensely. It was prepared perfectly and I loved it. For our entrees, Kiki ordered the branzino. It came out perfectly grilled and absolutely delicious very very high marks. I ordered the half chicken. I often use this as a template when trying a new restaurant and a new chef. I believe if the chef gives respect to the simple bird, it says a lot about his skills. Chef Chris did not disappoint it was probably one of the best prepared pieces of chicken.I've had in a restaurant in a long time. So much so I asked the manager Lisa Marie minus the Presley if I could go back to the kitchen and give a standing ovation to the chef and his staff. As some readers of some of my previous posts, no, it's occasionally, then I will do this, and I think about it. It's probably only been about ten restaurants worldwide that I have gone to the kitchen to applaud the chef and their staff. This is only the second time I've done it with a hotel restaurant. It was well deserved. Our dining experience was outstanding. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional. High marks all around to chef, Chris and all of the staff working at this at this hotel restaurant. Once again, the restaurant is called Capolinea. Showed up at 7:55 for an 8:00 seating, was immediately sat. Waited about 20 minutes before flagging down someone for water. Ordered a margarita came with a gentleman's cube only got less than 1/2" of drink. Two orders the bolognese and asked specifically if it was spaghetti noodles, was told yes. It was not spaghetti noodles. One ordered the mushroom risotto and was so salty it was inedible. Frankly for the ambience they portray they could do so much better. We ended up leaving as the food was horrible, service was terrible & the manager just kept making excuses. Don't even bother!!! read more

**Disappointing Experience--Not Worth the Risk of Poor Attitudes** This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I dined with a party of four. We were especially excited to try their "table-side martinis," as none of us had experienced this before. When the waiter came to take our drink order, I asked for his recommendation, as they only offer four martini options prepared table-side. I immediately agreed to his suggestion, my wife ordered the same, and a friend ordered a different martini, also table-side. When the bartender arrived to prepare the drinks, I noticed he only had two glasses, even though we had ordered three martinis. Politely, I mentioned, "I see only two glasses, but we ordered three martinis." The bartender, with noticeable attitude, responded, "I only got an order for two," and proceeded to make just those two. Assuming there must have been a misunderstanding, I reiterated that I had ordered the same drink as my wife. He sharply replied, "Well, I just have two--you'll have to get the other one from the bar or wait." At this point, I was confused and frustrated. I assumed there was a shortage of glasses or ingredients and didn't want to cause a scene. But when our waiter came back, I explained the situation to him. He looked puzzled, remembering I had ordered two of the same martini with my wife. The bartender then held up the receipt and, again with attitude, said, "I only have two on the order." This is where things became truly frustrating. Instead of simply accommodating my request to begin with, the bartender, clearly noticing my frustration, pulled another glass from under his cart and made the third martini. It was baffling to me--he had the resources all along. Why not just say, "No problem, I'll be happy to make your martini!" rather than escalating the situation with unnecessary attitude? My complaint isn't about the waiter accidentally getting my drink order wrong--that happens. My issue is with the rude, unwarranted attitude from the bartender. Whether it's a $1 soda or a $20 martini, at a restaurant that prides itself on offering a premium experience, you expect better customer service. In the end, our party spent $360, but the experience was completely soured by the bartender's poor attitude and lack of professionalism. When you're paying for a top-tier experience, having to deal with bad customer service is unacceptable. Not to mention, and completely unrelated to the poor experience with the bartender, our waiter was equally underwhelming. He never took the time to explain the menu, didn't check on us once after the food arrived, and only did the bare minimum of his responsibilities. For a restaurant that markets itself as fine dining, the lack of engagement and attentiveness from the staff was shocking. read more

We went to Atlanta to watch the NFL Pre-Season game and chose Capolinea for our dinner. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere, combined with the friendly and smiling staff, set a very positive tone for our evening. We had heard about their famous Martini Cart Service so we started off with that and were served by the Director of Beverages, Evan. I chose the "Capolinea Martini" and my wife had their Traditional Martini with olives and a pickled pearl onion. Great start! Our server, "Dom" or Dominique, was informative and attentive, giving us excellent recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. I selected the Pane e Burro (Bread and Butter) to start and couldn't believe the taste of the Olive Sourdough, Focaccia, Salatini olive oil and Calbrian chili butters. You have got to try this. I didn't want to share. In fact, I ordered a second helping with my main dish which was the exquisite Creste di Gallo Bolognese. Outstanding!! My wife selected the Branzino fish that was so fresh and delicious. The food and desert at Capolinea is simply divine and the chef's creativity shines through in every dish, with unique flavor combinations that are both unexpected and delicious.
