Because I am allergic to dairy, I asked the server to check what options I could have that were dairy free but still included protein. He returned and told me I could have it with cream sauce. I was told the manager was too busy and it would be a long wait despite the restaurant only having about four or five tables occupied. That response felt incredibly dismissive. I then asked if I could have chicken instead since it was on the menu. Eventually another server came out and said they could put chicken on the side. When I asked if it could simply be added to the pasta so I could eat it together, he told me no and even said there was no point in asking Alfredo because the answer would be no. After years of loyalty, I was sitting there being offered cream despite clearly stating I have a dairy allergy, with no protein option offered even though steak, chicken, and salmon are all on the menu.
