My father lives across the street in Fearrington Village so I have been here about half a dozen times. The pizza has been soggy for wood fired and it is overpriced to be sure but the service has been ok. Not so on our last visit. Our overpriced salads and appetizer came fairly quickly but after 30 minutes no sign of a pizza. The family next to us came and went. When we approached the waitress we were told it was almost ready. When we told her to just forget it she showed no remorse whatsoever. We asked to speak with the manager and was informed that she was the manager. We paid the bill and left. No apology, no attempt to make things right. Everybody makes mistakes and perhaps she did not put the order in but take responsibility for the error and make the customer feel that you care. Biggest complaint.... not open on Mondays and Tuesdays! The Bianca is our favorite but you can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. The combo of pizza dough and fresh toppings makes their pizzas better than the competition (both quality and taste). read more

I've only done take out from here, but the food is amazing! Due to covid, we called upon arrival and waited in the car; food was placed in our trunk and the employees were wearing masks. I am a regular to Capp's, given the food, service and awesome food. I tried the chicken parm last night and it was outstanding. John, Wendy and team do a great job! My friend had been telling me about this place for a while and I was so excited to try it out. The food was delicious. I got the pesto chicken pasta and my friend and I split a cannoli! The thing that caused the four stars was the service. We weren't really greeted and after the waitress sat us the time it took for her to come back to ask for our drinks was a bit too long. When we ordered our drinks we also ordered our food. Once we got our food she didn't come back to ask us how our food was or refill my friend's drink. After we finished eating is when she came back refilled my friend's drink and we took our chance to ask for dessert and the bill. As a server I felt this type of service was not okay. There were ten people total in the whole place and she paid more attention to the people at the bar than us. Only checking on a table three times I feel isn't right. We learned about Capp's when they were a wood fired pizza trailer. Great food then and now with a brick and mortar restaurant, great food more often! Not many pizza places actually cook with wood. These guys do it with perfection! The crust is awesome, (try the hot honey for the bones) and only the freshest ingredients are used. Capp's beats the pants off of any pizza place in the Triangle area! And the customer service is what you expect but seldom receive anymore! We will be back often! read more

1st time here. Friday night at 6pm. Busy, place is much smaller on the inside. Loud and crowded. Convenient location, but limited parking. Seated quickly. Poor service, staff not attentive-- Had to ask someone to take our order. Had to ask for a drink refill. The place turned dead and empty at one point and we still didn't get service. Had to Ask for the check. Agree with the other reviews, that the food is tasty but very expensive for the portion. This place would not be on my list of must return visits. read more

I wish I could give them more stars because the food was good, but our waitress was just not with it. We were visiting friends and they said they liked this place. We ordered two of the Caprese Salads which was very good. We then ordered 3 different pizzas. My friend ordered a white pizza with cheese. The waitress seemed confused and pointed to the Summer pizza. My friend said that she only wanted cheese. When our pizza arrived, the waitress handed my friend the Summer pizza. She said this is not what I wanted. The waitress replied that the cook thought that this is what she wanted and told her to try it because she might like it. My friend did try it because she didn't want to complain but didn't like it. The waitress seemed to be avoiding us but we finally got her attention. We told her again that we wanted a white pizza with cheese. The waitress went to the cook and seemed to be arguing with him. It took them at least 30-40 minutes to bring us the correct pizza. By that time, we had finished our food and about to give up. The waitress said to my friend, I hope you like this one. And walked off. We then decided to order dessert, a Nutella brownie that was supposed to be warm with chocolate gelato. When we got it, it was coldwith vanilla ice cream. Disgusting Manager. NOT EVERY ONE SHOULD BE IN MANAGMENT. She knows who she is. (Capps Pizzeria-- The Veranda, Chapel Hill) This was meant to be a Valentine's Day dinner for the family. How does one begin to write a review about negative customer experience when food ratings is what the people want to read about? Disgusting treatment can spoil the food. The manager ("W"), of Capps Pizzeria shocked me beyond words. When we arrived She asked if I had been helped, I gave her my name and stated that I had an order to pick up. This was rather a busy day. I found my self waiting some more and staring at my order on the back shelf as others received theirs and left. Another employee took care of my order. Understanding that the establishment was busy and training a new employee was encouragement enough for me to be patient. After driving off I noticed there was an ERROR ON MY REIPT. I called the restaurant back and "W" (Manager) answered; before I could finish stating the error she knew who I was and stated she didn't charge me or that she credited me prior for the cancelled order. She abruptly hung up. I called back to inform her that the item was still on the list. "W" (Manager) became short stated she was very busy and will fixt the error later then hung up. As a consumer I am thinking how will she credit my card back if I am in possession of it. In addition she hung up on me twice; wasn't so confident of receiving a credit at this point. I turned back around and presented my self at Capps Pizzeria (at the Veranda in Briar Chapel). "W" immediately set her eyes on me and ignored me. One of her staffers also having recalled my recent visit sought to assist me. I explained what had just transpired and asked to speak with the manager. It was then that the staffer informed me that "W" was the manager. My response was if that is the manager I want nothing to do with her just have her credit my card so I can leave. The staffer proceeded to inform the manager who then turned to looked at me again and carried on looking upset. The manager "W" never presented her self to me to fix the issue. She instead sent the staffer to do her job. The staffer was told to inform me that I needed to be patient since crediting the account is a process and will be done at the end of the night. My question was, why couldn't "W" (manager) be as polite and tactful in informing me of this "process"? Rather she hung up the phone twice and Ignored me when I returned to the restaurant? I informed her that I would be leaving this review specific to the manager's behavior. and expect to see my card credited. Attitude is very important "W" you did this to your self. read more

The pizza was delicious. A bit pricey but worth it. Very fresh ingredients. The meatballs on the Mama Mia pizza were fantastic.

This place has the most delicious pizza in the triangle (or anywhere I've had pizza). I've had their food on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. I especially like the array of interesting specials they create in the kitchen, not found on the standard menu. A few of these have left me doing a happy dance. As for menu staples, the Filetti + your favorite added topping is always a winner. I also recommend the eggplant parmesan (which I finally got my 4-year-old to try and she now loves). read more

We recently moved into the area and have been trying pizza places to find for our Friday night pizza fun. This place is really overpriced for pizza and a salad. We have been twice now. The first time we got cheese, pepperoni, garlic rolls. The garlic rolls were nicer than other places in the area. The pizzas were hand made, but unremarkable as you would expect with the price. The second time- We ordered a Caesar salad and the honey and capicola pizza. I believe it's called the honeybee. We also ordered a regular pepperoni pizza. The total came to $64 which is just outrageous! The honey covered pizza was significantly smaller than we expected and the Caesar salad was quite small as well. We put in an order to be ready about an hour later and somehow that was missed. We came to conclusion it must've been made earlier because by the time we got it and drove five minutes up to the road to our house it was definitely old and cold. Adding to the frustration about the price... we just reheated it, but then the crust was so tough and the capicola wouldn't bite through and just came off in one piece from the reheating. We will try again out of the convenience of the location, but we will try new things since these were not worth the price. read more

I've eaten there a total of 5 times, and this was the last time. Food quality has deceased each time( sadly) and the staff that answers the phone really should know the menu( didn't know what ricotta was), or how to respond to basic requests, maybe its the Sunday evening crew? I really thought we had found a decent pizza place, but that simply doesn't exist here. The chicken parmigiana was dry, and had so little mozzarella cheese on it, that it was comical, but it did have plenty of parsley on its though. Really, excessive Parsley? Without question the best crust on any pizza I have ever eaten...Ask for the Bianca (White) pizza, a new addition not found on the menu. Went early on a Saturday night so it wasn't very busy but business picked up as my family and I dined. Ordered three gourmet pizzas. All three were very good. Service was friendly. Spectacular food -- Nana's quality (if not the selection) for 1/3 to 1/2 the price (which is reasonable, but don't expect Domino's prices or pizza). Pizzas are amazing, including the bizarre mashed potato Burbank (which is also full of bacon). My favorite when they have it is the kimchi-covered Seoul Train. Don't overlook the non-pizza items, definitely don't overlook the antipasto and other starters, and above all try the honey cake for dessert. read more

Consistently well executed entrees and wood-fired pizzas with verve. Pizza dough, pasta and pastries are house made and top notch, pizzas are thin crispy crusts, large enough for two and good enough for one (me) to eat the whole thing! A house-made sausage, potato and kale soup started things off very nicely, too good not to share around. I've had pizza with mushroom/pep, caponata (veg only), and one that I improvised from their ample list of build your own. Specials were lobster ravioli and pepardelle with romanescu sauce. The ambiance is very pleasant, staff is attentive and smiling. Deserts were very good, including a honey cake whose name doesn't do it justice, combines flavors of light honey, rum, walnuts, caramel; the lemoncello sponge cake was also praise-worthy. We've been to Capp's three times and gotten takeout twice. The pizzas are delicious, but a bit on the expensive side. We had a tasty fennel salad at one visit, but couldn't help but feel slighted on the portion size. And the hours...kinda stink. I'd love to be able to stop here for takeout on my way home, but they're closed so that just won't ever happen. Overall, the food is excellent, while a bit over-priced, portion sizes somewhat stingy, and the hours aren't customer friendly. 5 stars for taste, but 2 for other issues. read more

Had to ask for everything. First time here and not impressed. Service; Original waitress took our drink order, drinks arrived with a different waitress. Then we ordered our pizza. When it came out it was dropped off literally as a drive by without any eye contact or questions of do you need anything else. There were also no condiments on the table. Ate our pizza and no one ever came by to ask how the food was or check on us. Got half way through the meal and needed a refill on my drink. Had to stop another waitress to ask her for a refill. Still no one has come by. Kept eating and finished the meal without anyone ever coming back by to check on us. Finished up, stacked all our plates and pizza tray to the edge of the table and still no one stopped by. Had to stop the hostess and ask for our check. Check was again literally dropped off without any interaction. Original waitress picked up check and it was finally paid and dropped off again, first time she had been to the table since the beginning of the meal. Along the way there was a waitress working the section next to ours that clearly looked several times at empty drink glasses and dirty finished dishes and did nothing. Basically we felt like we had been forgotten and it was too much of a bother to service our table and meal. Food; Ordered a mushroom pizza with arugula on it. Basically was a cheese pizza that looked like someone had accidentally dropped a few mushrooms on it and then covered it with copious amounts of arugula to hide it. Portion size, very small for the price. In addition there was so much truffle oil you couldn't taste the rest of the pizza. I've owned and worked in restaurants and know the business. Having lived in NYC for several years, we've struggled to find great pizza & pasta in the area...until Capps! Everything here is delicious and it's the perfect menu offering both traditional basics to more creative dishes. I see that a few reviews have knocked them on prices being a bit high, but these guys aren't a chain - they are a local, family business using fresh, local ingredients & supporting local farmers when possible - I'm happy to pay more for this. The service is always excellent & I love that they give back to the community. It's kid friendly but also a great date spot (patio + wine + buratta = heaven!) Nothing better than eating great food prepared by great people in a festive spot! read more
