Summary: Do yourself a favor and try the food from Capri. I am a big pizza enthusiast. I prefer the simplicity of the original, mozzarella cheese with delicious tomato sauce, soft and tasty dough, with a bit of oregano to bring a little bit of contrasting and complementing flavor. The popular option in the region is the deep dish but outside of it, a lot of places lack a more traditional style pizza. Lack either in taste or some aspect of the pizza. When I found out about Capri, I was very curious and excited to give it a try - thank you Philip! I ordered the traditional-style cheese pizza on Wednesday to have it delivered around 5:30-6pm on Thursday. I got confirmation and was told it would arrive around 5:30-5:45. Excellent. Now, there was a reasonable 10-11 mile drive to take into account. Well, come Thursday, 5:40pm I receive a phone call that my pizza is here. Good start! The pizza looked gorgeous and I was eager to "dig in." The only minor downside was the distance from Capri to me, which meant some parts of the pizza weren't hot - that is not going to impact this review. The dough was extremely tasty, VERY fresh just like freshly-baked bread in the morning... which is perfect, after all the pizza dough should also be able to be used for bread. Anyway, its thickness was about 1.5cm so a 16" pizza was quite satisfying much to my surprise. I must emphasize that it's because it was a quite generous dough, it never felt heavy. The tomato sauce was very light and complemented the cheese and dough very well, however given the thickness of the dough, it felt like a few more tablespoons of sauce could have been used. Likewise, the cheese at times felt like a thin layer. A few more ounces and it would have been perfect. As it stands, it can feel a little dry but it never distract us from the taste. I cannot emphasize enough how tasty the pizza was. Next time I will know to ask for more sauce (to be absorbed by the dough as well) and cheese because the freshness made reminisce of my homemade pizzas as well as some pizzas in Italy/Germany/France. The reasons this is a 4-star review are the aforementioned desire for more cheese and sauce, as well as the prices. I feel it may be about $2.00-$4.00 too much, the lesser sizes being somewhat cost-prohibitive. For these prices I'd have liked to see buffalo mozzarella. But looking at the entire menu there are options other than pizza within regional competitors' ranges. read more

We just LOVE this place ... I suppose it's called EXPRESS due to your being able to take things quickly out the door. My son LOVES this place which is interesting since he's more of a wings and burgers guy but he's ordering from them alllllll the time and raves to his friends how much he loves their food; lo' n behold they have wings too!!! My husband and I love to cook but find ourselves ordering from Express more times than not. We've even catered from them a number of times having our company ask where the food came from .... We got Sunday night delivery. The delivery is a little steep, but being 8 miles away we decided to do it. The delivery was quick, and the food delicious! I give them major props for the butter that came with the complimentary bread. It was soft already, and I always judge a restaurant on this detail. Plus I am a big butter lover so that in itself was a great attention to detail. (How do you spread hard butter on to bread?!) They also give each of our entrees a side salad! I got the fettuccine alfredo. It was creamy and rich. Everything you want from that dish. Plus it had chicken and broccoli- so good! (The broccoli evens out all that cream right? Haha). My boyfriend made his own pasta because he was feeling the classic spaghetti and meatballs. I stopped by here because I wanted to support a small local business. Damn, do I regret it. Spent over $40 on brushette and a small thin crust pizza with select ingredients. Jesus was it bad. First off the brushette was burned. Burned bad. And the pizza, F-ing horrible. I would rather go get the pizza across the street at the health club cafe, it has more taste there. The thin crust dough must have been just defrosted. Quite possibly the worst pizza I ever tried. We were visitors from the middle-of-nowhere Ohio to the Chicagoland area briefly overnight at a Willowbrook motel that had the Capri Express carry-out / delivery menu. My husband was excited when he found clams on the menu. Y'cain't get them from here in the middle-of-nowhere Ohio - not served by any restaurant within 100 miles and not even available for home prep from any grocery chain that serves southeastern Ohio. As I sit here eating my canned Spaghetti O's for lunch, I am dreaming about Capri Express!! I heard about you guys a couple weeks ago via Grub Hub so I thought I'd check you out. Super happy that I did! Your food reminded us of our travels to Rome it was so good ;) For the 4 of us I ordered: Bruschetta Calabrese, Garlic Bread, Mozzarella Sticks, Homemade Rigatoni Vita Mia, Meat Ravioli, Pasta Carbonara, and Baked Meat Lasagna. EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC!! The dinner portions are HUGE and we had enough leftovers for two days' worth of lunches. Definitely worth the $$ spent. The only thing that I would change is: make the homemade rigatoni a wee bit smaller - the pasta was uber huge and not as easy to eat without cutting, and the house dressing that was given with our salads tasted like pure vinegar - could've been a bad batch? I am not usually in the area, but if I found myself here again I would come back. The Express in Burr Ridge has been my FAVORITE place for Italian Beef since they opened there. But last night, was the last time I'll ever go. I asked for a wet beef - half of the roll was so dry I had to throw it out. The beef tasted like it was boiled in old, water with absolutely no seasoning; and to make matters worse it was sliced so thick I tried to eat with a fork/knife because it was so tough. Ultimately, I threw it away. And the fries - another Capri favorite - were cold, overcooked, greasy, and thankfully, not even a whole order! I've been disappointed the last few times I went there, but this was over the limit. read more
