This is a very cute and stylish Italian restaurant that sets itself apart from your typical class Italian restaurants in the Bay Area. The menu isn't big but very focused, I believe that's a good thing. I scanned around other tables and I saw 8/10 people ordered the Lasagna so I decided to give it a try. My dear friend ordered their special seafood pasta - OMG it was a bomb (9/10)! Everything was so flavorful and well-balanced in that dish. Best seafood pasta I've ever had. On the flip side, I *liked* my Lasagna for the texture but I didn't like the fact that they used Parmesan (or some dry, salty cheese) instead of Mozzarella. The whole dish tasted very heavy and way too umami. I missed the wetness and freshness of a Mozzarella layer, so 6/10. For drinks, I ordered a Negroni - not impressed. For desserts, we shared a Tiramisu (5/10), I wasn't impressed neither. However we enjoyed the arugula grapes salad a lot (7.5/10). We were also very surprised by the generous portion of all dishes offered by this tiny little restaurant. I will return to Capri and try other dishes for sure.
Dined at Capri Lasagneria for Mother's Day. We made a reservation for lunch and were surprised when we were seated outside. It wasn't a huge deal, but we were expecting indoor seating and we felt like the vibe of the meal was different given we were literally eating on the sidewalk. We asked to be moved to an indoor table but were told they were for reservations...which we had. For food, we got their classic gnocchi appetizer, the bolognese lasagna, and their seafood pasta along with a few nonalcoholic drinks. Everything was tasty but relatively high priced. For example, the seafood pasta was $35. The lasagna bolognese was good, but we felt that it actually had too much cheese. Gnocchi was good but not worth $14. Service was friendly, but we didn't appreciate how our waitress tried to push the burrata appetizer on us at least three times.
Stopped by on a whim on a Tuesday around 5pm. There wasn't a wait yet and only two tables taken. Service was attentive and a carafe of water was given to the table (of 3). We got the gnocchi fritto, burrata alla caprese, insalata mista, Italian sausage lasagna, lobster ravioli (special), and tiramisu. Gnocchi was fried well and was chewy and crispy. The truffle cream sauce was nice. I could see this going well with an order of the meatballs. The burrata was good as well with juicy tomatoes and seemed to have some sort of pesto sauce with it. The mista salad was a bit bland - probably wouldn't order it again. The italian sausage lasagna was good - crispy cheese edges and had a kick to it because of the peppers. I did find the lasagna on the slightly drier side. It was better after we added some of the sauce from the ravioli. As for the ravioli, it was a tiny bit disappointing. Couldn't quite taste the lobster in it and the overall ravioli wasn't that hot. The sauce was tasty though. Surprisingly, I would say the tiramisu was the best dish we had. Light, sweet, and creamy. Very easy to eat and not dry at all. Wouldn't mind returning and trying the bolognese lasagna or building your own.
This place was so delicious and had such a cute European feel to it. The staff was so nice, and the food was amazing. They're known for their lasagnas, and we had a zucchini and corn lasagna with pesto - it wasn't too heavy at all. It felt very fresh with such unique flavors, and so delicious. The cocktail was great too - blood orange and not too sweet. The burrata was so creamy, sitting in a bed of pesto, which I feel is uncommon. We also had a build-your-own rigatoni with tomato sauce and mushrooms, which was equally delicious and perfectly al dente.
The restaurant is really cute, but it is very small. We made a reservation ahead of time, but when we arrived there was a large party inside, so our options were sitting in the very back indoors or outside on a warm day. We chose to sit outside, but as the sun shifted it got pretty hot and we ended up having to get up halfway through the meal to move our table, chairs, and umbrella to stay shaded. About an hour into our meal, our conversation was interrupted and we were asked to leave because they needed the table for other guests, which felt a bit rushed. That said, the food was delicious and the complimentary focaccia was especially yummy!
First time at Capri Lasagneria on a Thursday evening around 5:20 pm. Inside the restaurant was about half full. Nice interior with tables pretty close to each other. Started off with the Cesar salad and fried gnochi. Both were good. The Italian sausage lasagna wasn't bad. The sheets of pasta were soft and cooked well. The bolognese had a weird after taste. Chocolate budino was major letdown. Plain chocolate pudding, hard pass. The service was lacking. The one lady server had some major rbf and didn't look like she wanted to be there. Walked around and decided to check out this tiny gem. It definitely doesn't disappoint. They line to get a table did start to get long but it was a good thing we got there just in time. We had a pup so we sat outside during one of those warmer winter evenings. Although sitting inside would've been nice also. Place looks pretty good Now let's talk about what matters... Free bread!!! Lol. Yes but there's more. We came here for the lasagna and while it wasn't what I was used to, I just love that layer of cream or ricotta or mozzarella... We did not get that. What we got was this rich bolognese sauce which tasted like like it spent a while in the pot. I also loved the lobster ravioli which was a special for that day. It's texture was just really good. It has a good bite. I would Def recommend. I think it will be put on my regular rotation. Hope you guys enjoy!!!
Such a cute, intimate restaurant! Came in with some friends who made reservations and was seated quickly during lunch on a weekend. The lasagna portions imo are pretty big. My favorite was the zucchini lasagna in comparison to its traditional counterpart. But all the lasagnas we tried were just as tasty. Their salads are also really good and are enough to share between two people depending on your appetite. The waiter who helped us was also very attentive and very knowledgable with the menu/wine. I would definitely come back here for the food and service. It was a pleasant experience!
I absolutely loved my experience here. The workers here are so pleasant, and my waitress made my dinner feel extra special. The atmosphere is cozy too. The Burrata aila caprese with prosciutto was so good!! I was mind blown. The pastas were all delicious and you can't go wrong with tiramisu either.. My only regret is not getting lasagna which seems to be their signature. I will be back for that next time. :)
Wanted to check this place out and so brought family for dinner. Pros: ambience was quaint and cute, we were seated right away, bread was warm and yummy. Cons: -unfortunately, our dishes were bland :( there was chicken Alfredo, chicken lasagna, bolognese and the special seafood pasta. Disappointed with the taste esp for the money that we paid for. -server spoke a little too loud when she told us what the specials were Will not go back here again
The restaurant has such a cute and cheerful vibe to it with bright colors and a friendly atmosphere. This place serves mostly lasagna dishes with some dishes being a twist on typical pasta dishes and served as a lasagna. The menu is small and they were able to fit all the food and drinks on one page. We were served focaccia bread as a starter and they brought us a second round since it was really good. Items Ordered: - Zucchine E Mais ($22): This was my first time having a pesto lasagna which came with zucchini. I thought it could've been slightly more flavorful but you can still taste the abundance of pesto in the lasagna. - Pollo Alla Vodka ($23): A twist on the classic pollo vodka pasta dish and also could've had slightly more flavor to it, but still tasted good regardless.
This spot on Burlingame Ave totally gives off Capri vibes with the name and decor, feels like you're on the Italian riviera! The complimentary focaccia is amazing ! It's soft, warm, tons of scallion flavor. The olive oil they give you is really good too. And you can get more bread for free. My friend and I took forever deciding on an appetizer and ended up going with something we'd never tried, the polpette al sugo. For mains we got the squid ink pasta (it was the special) and the zucchine. Polpette al sugo (5/5) - honestly didn't think meatballs would be that exciting but these were SO good! Squid ink pasta special (4/5) - really fresh, just wish it had a little more flavor Zucchine (4/5) - looked like lasagna which I usually don't like, but this was actually really good! Didn't get dessert bc we were stuffed (portions are huge!) but saw other tables getting it and it looked great. Definitely trying it next time!

There are plenty of metered parking spots right outside and around this restaurant. There are limited free parking spots several blocks away. We were greeted and seated by a friendly waitress upon entering the restaurant. We ordered the Gnocchi Fritto and Polla Alla Vodka. For our second entree, we ordered the rigatoni with salmon and spinach. While we were waiting for our food, the waitress gave us some complementary foccacia bread. Our food came out in a timely manner. The Gnocchi Frittos were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The sauce paired so well with the Gnocchi Frittos. They were so addicting. The Pollo Alla Vokda Lasagna was very tasty. The rigatoni with salmon and spinach was pretty flavorful. The salmon wasn't dry and the rigatoni was al dente. The chef told us that they make everything from scratch. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. They sure take pride in their cooking. We'll be back to try their other Lasagnas and definitely order the Gnocchi Frittos. read more

Service was great. Food was yummy. We actually didn't get lasagne , got build your own pasta instead. It was very good as you can customize it and add only ingredients you like to it! I got the gnocchi with spinach and mushrooms with red sauce. The portions are quite big, too. And free bread! They have a kids menu, and kids cups! That was a pleasant surprise. Came on a weekend right when it opened so was able to get a table. It's pretty small inside so I imagine it gets pretty busy. read more

Life. Changing. The place is SUPER cute, immediately felt welcomed. Charming and classy. I tried the porcini ravioli and it was love at first bite. I literally had tears in my eyes, it was perfection. My team had the bolognese and were equally impressed. The burrata was 5 stars like legitimately the best combination of flavors. Our waitress was absolutely lovely. I wish I caught her name, but she was kind and patient and it felt like she wanted to be there. 10/10 recommend this restaurant and will be coming back. read more

Capri specializes in handmade pastas and lasagna. Food: -Spicy sausage lasagna -Bolognese lasagna -Gnocchi fritto (served with a steaming mushroom sauce) -Tiramisu I enjoyed every dish, preferring the sausage lasagna over the bolognese. Focaccia bread was given as a free starter and tasted good with olive oil. Tip: Check in on Yelp or use the wait list to get a free tiramisu (as of 1/10/25) Service: Professional and attentive Ambiance: Casual with both in and outdoor seating. Thoughtfully designed with comfortable chairs and purse hooks. Also with scenes of Capri on a projector. I would come back. read more
CapriLasagneria it's this intimate spot in Burlingame with minimal seating that feels cozy. I visited at lunchtime and started with the meatball appetizer: flavorful and hearty, though just a bit on the drier side. For the main course, I tried two lasagnas the classic bolognese had that same savory taste as the meatballs, and the pollo alla vodka was my favorite, with tender chicken in a rich sauce. I love that they're served in cute mini pans, I'll be back to explore the pesto‑zucchini lasagna and the pesto pasta next! read more
Came here for a family dinner and we LOVED it. Family could not stop raving about it. Everything from the atmosphere to the delicious food was (almost) perfect! The decor was unique and gave the feel you were dining in a small restaurant in Italy. Service was outstanding and the owner even came over to introduce himself - they also made sure that everyone was comfortable with seating and temperature during their dinner. The only thing I would say is a couple people in our party said the pesto lacked salt. We will definitely be back! read more
If you're tired of the regular Burlingame restaurant rotation, venturing to this relatively newer gem won't disappoint! Reservations: They seem to take reservations through Yelp, and also use the Yelp Waitlist option (my personal favorite!). Burlingame Ave is cute to walk around while you wait. Parking: Relatively easy to find within the area. Metered, lot, and parking garage options are all available. Ambiance: Small but cute. On the quieter side, would be great for a catchup with a friend or a date night. Wouldn't recommend for a large group though as seating is pretty limited. Food: Delicious and a great variety to pick from! They strive to use local ingredients which I always appreciate. You can pick one of their amazing looking lasagnas, or build your own pasta for a more customizable option. They have gluten free options for my GF friends and it's yummy too. I highly recommend the Burrata to split as a side too! Would gladly come back here in a second :) read more
Ordered food for delivery. I had gotten the lasagna zucchine e mais, and the daily soup. The lasagna was cooked well, vegetables easy to bite through, and the sauce not too rich. The roasted cheese on top provided some texture changes throughout the dish which was nice. The corn added a light sweetness here and there in the bites. The soup was either a lentil or a butternut squash. It had a nice earthiness too it, wasn't too salty, just needed a stir here and there to even out the ingredients. Good flavors for vegetarian options nearby, though I kinda wish there were more things to try out. If around I'll have to give the pasta a shot for sure. read more
So yum!! Came here on a weekday for lunch and had no problem getting a table for 2. The place is small, so I would hesitate to come at peak times and with more people. Ambiance is super cute. Kind of reminds me of Eataly where the food is good and the modern atmosphere really transports you. We tried to pesto lasagna and the bolognese lasagna. Both were delicious and good portions. My husband tried this place with a friend and wanted to take me here! It was kinda of like a hole in a wall place and it was so cute inside! The server had given us the bread and my husband asked for balsamic vinegar and we never got it. The tables were a little close together but I didn't mind. Another party of 2 was seated next to us and our waiter was definitely more attentive to them. He even went over the specials of the day (he didn't mention the specials to us). Definitely felt out of place and was just getting off vibes, just wanted to finish eating a leave. The lasagna was yummy, meaty! And the Alfredo was good! read more

Capri Lasagneria is a very cute and cozy restaurant with great friendly service. Our server was attentive and so friendly. We came for a friend's birthday so we could try everything family style. The alfredo fettuccine was actually my favorite dish, probably one of the best alfredos I've ever had. A touch of nutmeg made it not feel so heavy and rich. The steak special came with mille feuille potatoes, the steak was very tender. The spicy sausage and bolognese lasagna were pretty similar but both good. The lasagna noodles are on the softer side. The zucchini lasagna was a nice change of pace with the fresh vegetables and different sauce. Spaghetti meatballs were a little too soft, and little bland. The tiramisu was so good, I couldn't believe that it wasn't cake because the ladyfingers were so soft, but they said everything was homemade. read more
A really wonderful, romantic oasis in downtown Burlingame. All the food we ordered here was delicious. The Italian sausage lasagna was my highlight. The pomegranate and arugula salad was also wonderful. The Bolognese lasagna was solid but not as standout. The complimentary focaccia bread at the beginning was just so-so. Really great vibes with decent and friendly service. Good for late lunch since there wasn't a wait. The salad was very savory and delicious but a star down since it was overly dressed and drenched in too much cheese. I'm obsessed with cheese, so this is something I never thought I'd say. However, the fruit in the salad was excellent and paired wonderfully to balance the flavors. The lasagna was decent. I was trying to decide between the pesto and the zucchini/mais. The server suggested the latter, and I wish I chose differently. I should've chosen something more traditional as this flavor combo didn't hit the lasagna craving for me. I don't think I'd come back for this dish or reorder it. The space is is also really cozy with limited seating so they don't take reservations. There's a parking lot nearby for a small fee. Lunch for 1 was about $50 for a salad, lasagna, drink, tip, and tax. Not the most expensive but not the most affordable for a casual weekday lunch. Overall, decent but not necessarily a place whose dishes I crave. I did enjoy the vibes. Perhaps I'll try a different lasagna and that'll change my mind. read more

Good: The appetizer burrata was delicious, the freshness of the tomato was well balanced with the cheese when eaten together. Not as good: The bolognese lasagna was more bland than I expected. I felt like bolognese lasagna usually has a rich flavor but this one didn't. There was nothing special about it and was rather not the best. I wanted to like it but I really couldn't. Considering that this place has "Lasagneria" in the restaurant name, I wished it tasted better. Especially because it was $22 for a slice of lasagna. There is a pear pasta and spicy pasta my family ordered which tasted a lot better than mine. The atmosphere was nice, there is no ceiling/harsh lighting but more of a softer tone. My partner & I were craving Italian food (mostly lasagna) after a visit to Filoli Gardens. This place caught our eye as it was more affordable than other Italian restaurants. What a great choice we made! The food was so delicious, the interior design is gorgeous (we felt like we were on a date night), and our waitress Esra was phenomenal. She took care of us very well & added to this memorable experience. I'll definitely be back soon & I'll bring my family this time! read more

Cute Italian spot in downtown Burlingame (4.5 stars rounding up)! I came here with one of my friends on a Friday night and there was a short wait. We put our name down and walked around and they texted us when a table was ready. The inside of the restaurant is super cute and they have some movie projected on one of the walls (kind of like Foreign Cinema lol). We started off with the complimentary focaccia which was tasty. For apps, we shared the fried gnocchi which I was super excited to try. It was a fun app and I liked the mushroom sauce it came with. For mains, we both got different lasagnas - I tried the pesto one which was pretty unique and I like how it had corn! We also got the complimentary Tiramisu with the Yelp check in. I told them we were celebrating my friend's birthday and they stuck a candle on top (they also embarrassed her by singing)! The tiramisu was pretty good. All in all, a very solid Italian restaurant! read more

I love my lasagna!! We happen to find this place on Yelp and decided to try it. I didn't know what they specialized in except family told me it's "Italian" as stated, I love lasagna and this was a big part of their specialties. We had the bolognese, Italian sausage lasagnas. The bolognese was tasty but I couldn't bypass the Italian sausage. It had a nice kick to and was delicious. Also has a create your own pasta - pesto rigatoni with salmon. Pesto was very tasty. All the dishes were so good. You will also love the complimentary olive bread and they refilled without even asked to! We started with burrata and loved it. The service was awesome and so friendly - felt so welcomed. Nice Italian music playing and a running projected video of Capri on the wall was entertaining. I will definitely come back here again and I think I found my go to lasagna place. Everything so well done! read more
Cute spot for a mini date or date night! Dropped by with reservations 12:30 pm Saturday and was seated immediately. There were extra tables empty, so walk-ins for this place wouldn't be hard. Though with limited seating, I can see this place getting a wait if packed. The interior was very cozy with soft colors and gentle lighting. With videos of Italy projected onto the side wall, it added to the cozy quaint vibe. What we got: - Italian Sausage Lasagna ~which had a mild spice and slight acidity to balance the heaviness of the sausage. - Vodka alla pollo ~which was slightly sweet from the caramelized onions. The chicken was slightly dry in the dish, but was balanced out from the flavors and sauce slathered over the lasagna. The focaccia that came with the table was beyond soft and fluffy. Paired with the olive oil on the side, the focaccia soaked up the olive oil well and allowed the olive oil flavor to shine through. Service here was wonderful with very attentive staff. Will be returning to try out other stuff on the menu! read more

What a gem! Lovely ambiance, so chic, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Started with the Insalata di Rucola: arugula, tomatoes, parmigiano, peach + champagne vinaigrette. The cheese was lovely and heighten with the vinaigrette. Peaches were firm and flavorful. Highly recommend the Porcini Ravioli! It was decadent. Loved it! I wasn't much of a fan of the Bolognese Lasagna though. read more
Capri is the new hot spot around town! We went on a Saturday night and after a short wait, got to enjoy a ton of food for a pretty decent price. Two plates of bread, a lasagna to split, and gnocchi for a total of $32 plus tip. We were stuffed! We were not the only ones there - even the Burlingame police got in on the action with take out. And one family there literally knew everyone sitting outside. Speaking of seating... Your options are tables indoors or outdoors or the bar. The only slightly funny part is at night some tables are with a window side view of the ACE hardware. All the restaurants have to make the most of their space without the parklets so we didn't mind. It was more just funny! The fried gnocchi app was my favorite thing. It reminded me of a mix of a savory doughnut and mozzarella stick. The pesto lasagna was jam packed and pretty cheesy. One was enough to split. The complimentary focaccia was yummy but not the best ever. Overall, a must visit! (Much more packed than empty Vinyl Room next door.) read more

We visited for date night on a busy Friday. The interior was charming, with a design that gave off an authentic Italian vibe. Despite the crowd, we were able to find seats at the bar. We started with an Aperol spritz and a beer. For our appetizer, we chose the Burrata Alla Caprese, which was delicious and refreshing. For the main course, my husband ordered the Bolognese lasagna, and I had the Italian sausage lasagna. Both dishes were flavorful, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. They'd definitely satisfy any lasagna cravings we might have in the future. We ended the meal with their tiramisu, which was good but not exceptional. The one downside was the Aperol spritz, which didn't quite hit the mark. While we loved the lasagna, we might opt for takeout next time rather than dining in. read more
Sometimes the urge for a hearty, melty slice of lasagna strikes, but it's hard to obtain without all the commitment. Capri is such a gem for this and many other reasons! We came here for an early Mother's Day lunch. Reservations were easily made a week in advance, and we were seated immediately. Food was great, service even better. Vibes on point. FOOD: Everything was delicious and ingredients tasted fresh! * Bread: Complimentary upon request and so yummy! * Cesar salad: Classic, fresh but creamy and well-balanced with dressing and crispy croutons * Burrata: Tasty and easy to share. Comes with 4 pieces of each tomatoes and burrata and served with a wonderful pesto. We opted for the $5 prosciutto add-on. * Pollo alla vodka & Spicy Italian Sausage lasagna: Both were delicious. I feel like you can't go wrong with any of their lasagnas. The chicken and vodka sauce was creamy not overwhelming. The spicy Italian sausage lasagna had a kick, but the spice was subtle. The portions look small but man are they thick and filling! I love the "individual" size servings. Though if paired with some apps, one serving could easily serve 2 people. * Tiramisu: Generous serving - we all shared this. Light, fluffy, creamy, delicious. Topped with a sliced strawberry. Easily shareable and just so yummy! * Affogato: Another great option, if you're looking for a pick-me-up. The espresso is served on the side, so you can add to your liking. Apps were around $15 per dish. Lasagnas were ~$22 each. Desserts were ~$9 each. Our meal came out to about $160 for 4 people. Drinks: We all just opted for water, but they had a pretty decent wine and cocktail menu. (*Eyeing the spritz for next time!*) SERVICE: The staff was super nice, attentive and helpful. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and they were quick to clear our empty plates. But not too quick. In really appreciated how they noticed we really enjoyed the pesto on the burrata plate and once the burrata was gone, they offered to bring us some extra bread for it. :) AMBIANCE: So cute!! The entrance is small and among many others along the block, so it could be easy to miss. But once you step inside, the space is such a vibe! You immediately feel like you've been transported to a family restaurant on the coast of Italy. The space is not big, so while not great for huge parties, it'd be nice for a smaller bridal or birthday lunch for 4-6 people. Everything is pink, but obnoxiously. The music is upbeat and not too loud, so you can still easily carry conversations. PARKING: Might be tough, especially on weekends. Mostly metered, street parking. Though there is a paid parking lot around the corner too. BONUS: They had a few tables outside, so also dog friendly! We all left stuffed and happy...with leftovers for dinner. The perfect place for a birthday lunch! The inside is decorated so cute and bright. My family enjoyed tasting all the various lasagna dishes. Our favorites were the Italian Sausage and Zucchine E Mais. The fried gnocchi dish was unique to us and we enjoyed it a lot, too. To end our meal, the staff greeted my mom with a sweet birthday carol and a delicious tiramisu!! We'll definitely be back! read more
My partner and I came here on a Wednesday night and had a lovely first experience at Capri Lasagneria! Despite being the middle of the week, we still needed reservations, and quickly realized why - the interior is quite small with pretty limited seating. They do have outdoor seating as well, but definitely make sure you make reservations at least a day in advance! For drinks, we ordered the Hugo spritz and the Negroni, and we loved both! Both drinks were extremely balanced and refreshing. The complimentary focaccia was tasty as well! As big fans of lasagna, we had high hopes for the lasagna here, and we were NOT disappointed! I ordered the Italian sausage lasagna and my partner had the lasagna bolognese, and we absolutely loved both! The Italian sausage had a lovely mild kick to it, and the bolognese had a thick meaty flavor that was equally delicious. The lasagna was cooked perfectly, and the portion sizes were ideal - I often feel overly stuffed from lasagna, but they manage to make the lasagna hearty and filling, but not overly heavy. We were very impressed! We also loved the complimentary tiramisu we got for checking in on Yelp. I've seen a few reviews talk about it being dry, but we didn't have that experience at all - our tiramisu was moist, light, and had a flavor. Service was pretty good as well - it was pretty no frills and perhaps felt a bit rushed, but our drinks and food came fairly quickly, so we certainly weren't complaining! Came here for the first time and it was really good! Ordered the caprese as appetizer along with a few lasagna dishes. Service was amazing, staff is super friendly and as busy as it was they were on top of it! We ordered the bolognese, alla vodka and zucchini lasagna, pesto rigatoni & gnocchi. 6/5/25 Food is mid. Horrible meatballs, mediocre alfredo, and the lasagna came out lukewarm both times I've visited here. Service was interesting. Definitely were treated differently compared to the unmelanated. I asked for some balsamic to go with the bread and never got it. A very cute Italian joint serving up creative lasagna dishes and pasta. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating -- loved the ambience! We got the burrata, fried gnocchi, and vodka sauce lasagna. My favorite was surprisingly the fried gnocchi; I'm not usually a huge fan of gnocchi but theirs was nice and crispy and paired with a delicious truffle sauce. The vodka sauce lasagna was very well cooked as well -- love that it was made with chicken. Service was on the slow side, but will definitely be returning to try their other lasagnas! read more

Ever since I heard Capri Lasagneria opened up, I had been wanting to try it, but never got around to doing so. I finally took my daughter there for a lunch date over the weekend. This place is so incredibly cute! It's a pretty small restaurant, but it's nicely decorated and seems to have a nice bar. Lucky for us, it was rather late, so there was no wait for a table. In addition to a few starters, the menu offers six different kinds of lasagna, both vegetarian and non. They also offer four different pastas with four different sauces, as well as proteins and veggies, so you can customize your own dish. My friend tried many of the lasagnas and recommended the zucchini and corn one with pesto sauce so that's what I ordered. It came in a personal frying pan and the portion was very generous. The lasagna arrived with an abundance of shaved cheese on top, but the lasagna itself was rather delicate. It was delicious! The lasagna was so big, I only consumed half and took the rest home. My daughter opted for the fettucine alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. She said it's her new favorite place for fettucine alfredo! I sampled a bite of hers, and I think I'd have to agree with her. The sauce was not pure white, so I wonder if they added a little bit of marsala wine...either way, it was really tasty and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Nowhere on the menu do they advertise that the pasta is freshly made, but it is! Some places charge the same price for pasta and don't use freshly pasta so I feel like Capri Lasagneria is very affordably priced. They also served us a basket of olive focaccia prior to our entrees arriving. My daughter usually doesn't like olives, but they were cut so finely that she didn't mind them at all. I told the server how much I liked the focaccia and she boxed me up more to take home without me even asking for it. Such good service! Capri Lasagneria definitely exceeded my expectations! The décor, food and service were all wonderful! I can't wait to go back to try other dishes...the Italian sausage lasagna and the chicken in vodka sauce both caught my eye! This was a huge miss when it came to equality with customer service. Our table felt like we were the others in terms of getting equal treatment. Our waitress couldn't care less about our table, from the moment we sat down. Here are the differences between how our table was treated as opposed to the other tables. 1. We had to ask for bread, other tables were just given bread. 2. We had to ask for water, other tables were just given water. 3. We had to ask for togo boxes. Other tables they not only gave you the togo boxes they even boxed it for you. Our was the only table that had to box our own stuff. 4. We had to ask for a bag and the check, other tables were given the bag after the server boxed it for them and hung it on their table. The check took forever to arrive. Now onto the food. The server didn't allow us to split the salad when we asked her. We had to split it ourselves and she did NOT give us an extra plate. She had us use our bread plate. The caesar salad was okay, it's a different type of dressing that's almost like an Italian flavored dressing rather than creamy. The minestrone soup was soooo bad (salty and acidic) that I had to send it back. The lasagna bolagnase and sausage one were both 3 stars average. My friends gave it 3 stars because it was slightly burnt. My bolagnase pasta was 3 stars meh. The tiramisu was one of the worst ever. Super dry and the ladyfingers didn't seem to be soaked in the coffee. I took one bite and tossed it aside. My friends didn't like it either. Horrible service with 3 stars average food. With so many Italian restaurants nearby, it's a hard no on coming back. read more
