I heard so much about this place. They are known for their lasagnas. And the lasagna did not disappoint. I also really like the vibe here. The restaurant was giving a cozy Italian feel! The staff here are really sweet and very accommodating, they gave good recommendations for the dishes that we can share. We got the Bolognese lasagna and the Pollo Alla vodka lasagna. The Bolognese lasagna was really delicious, but the polo àlla vodka lasagna was really the star. I never had a lasagna like this before and I would definitely come back for this. The gnocchi fritter was a little underwhelmed. I wish there was more flavor to it, and it came out not as hot. This is a relatively new establishment in Burlingame. I walked by it a few times but never dropped by. Came here with a group of friends last week. Decoration is pretty cute inside. It started great. Took some time to wait for the group of 9 to show up. With a large group, we were served with one serving of bread. Not a big issue. I don't like bread that much but I was getting very hungry as time goes by. I ordered the Lasagna Zucchine e Mais with a couple of modifications. After some wait, food started to show up. Everyone was served except for me. There were no explanations or what not. I signaled a few times but no one acknowledged or explained after a very long time.... I find that to be very odd from a service point.... I was incredibly hungry.... Someone finally showed up acknowledging that they were still working on my order.... That was appreciated so I don't have to sit wondering what was going on and why they were trying to play hide and seek when I signaled. Finally, my food showed up. It has a lot of cheese. Flavor was good. Zucchini made it less greasy and a bit light and fluffy. Chicken was tender. Lasagna held its shape. Food tasted good but heavy. I was also surprised that they could charge by person. Again, somehow when it got to me they changed the order of payment. I paid the last. Not an issue but as one can imagine, the series of events didn't align well from a service point.... During the service they knocked on my head and when it came to pay wanted to add drink to my tap. Accidents do happen. That is okay. We came in a large group, clarification over bill is okay. But there were just too many okays happened for one lunch to just me out of the group.... Guess it was not too okay after all. Overall, food was okay.... flavor was nice but it was heavy. Service not too well for me. Decoration is good. I really wanted to like this place. Such a cute sunny restaurant! The food was amazing! I love Italian food and have a pretty high standard for it and this checked all boxes- taste, texture and smell. The gnocchi fritto was a unique suprise - a crunch on the outside and warm gooeyness of potato on the inside . I also loved the truffle dipping sauce with it. Both the lasagnes were delicious- I liked the spicy Italian lasagne a tad more! The waitress was also very sweet and accommodating. This hole in the wall is so cute, which is unfortunately the only redeeming factor of this restaurant. The lasagnes are cooked waaaay beyond al dente - mine was mush. The sauce was nice, and obviously homemade, but the texture was terrible. The other members of my party commented on the small servings. Our original dinner plan for Valentine's Day fell through, so we walked into Capri Lasagneria for an early dinner on Valentine's Day, and they were able to seat us! They set up a cute little table for the three of us (2 adults and 1 baby). We started off with the Burrata Alla Caprese and shared the Italian Sausage Lasagna and Pollo Alla Vodka Lasagna. The Burrata dish was a nice start, refreshing and tasty. Both Lasagnas were great. The Italian sausage had a small kick to it (my husband's favorite) and I preferred the Pollo Alla Vodka for the flavor and texture. Our server was so kind and attentive, she made it an enjoyable experience for sure! The restaurant was nicely decorated for Valentine's day and they even gave us a long stemmed rose with the check. We were greeted and seated by a friendly waitress upon entering the restaurant. We ordered the Gnocchi Fritto and Polla Alla Vodka. For our second entree, we ordered the rigatoni with salmon and spinach. While we were waiting for our food, the waitress gave us some complementary foccacia bread. Our food came out in a timely manner. The Gnocchi Frittos were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The sauce paired so well with the Gnocchi Frittos. They were so addicting. The Pollo Alla Vokda Lasagna was very tasty. The rigatoni with salmon and spinach was pretty flavorful. The salmon wasn't dry and the rigatoni was al dente. The chef told us that they make everything from scratch. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. They sure take pride in their cooking. This has been on my bookmarks for awhile and tbh I didn't think I was going to be trying it anytime soon. I actually ended up trying this for take out on Valentine's Day because it was the third restaurant I tried that finally didn't cancel my pick up order. To my surprise, the order was ready less than the forecasted 30 minutes and came with an order of bread on the side as well. By the time I got home (round trip 40 minutes), my food was still warm and delicious. The serving was decently sized -- I had enough for my dinner that night and lunch again a few days later. The restaurant ambiance for Valentine's Day looked super cute, warm and intimate so hoping I get to come back and try it sometime in person too. With the sunlight coming through the big front windows, and the fresh air flowing through the door, it just added so much more to the experience. The little restaurant is so charming and cute! Very well decorated and displayed in a minimalistic aesthetic. It's like a "sweet and simple" theme with the light/warm/nude color scheme. My group and I felt happy to be existing there in that moment. Very comforting. And on top of it, bar area is lit up and is a classy addition to the space. I absolutely love it! The service was attentive and genuine. I'm saying genuine in the sense where the staff wasn't overly enthusiastic and expressive. They were friendly, but not fake. Our waitress told us the specials, went over items with us, gave us suggestions, and answered all the questions we had. Now, the food was nothing short of amazing! The gnocchi fritto was a great start to our meal. Loved it, and the sauce it comes with. We ordered the special which was a lasagna with truffles, the sausage and the Quattro formaggio. Came in a quiet holiday weekend, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and fun. Ordered bolognese lasagna and seafood pasta with Alfredo-Pomodoro sauce. The pasta and the seafood done-ness was perfect, and not like some other restaurants that show cases similar menus it was in perfect seasoning, (not over salted) and very true to the basics that makes good pasta plate good. You can customize your pasta 100% which is very exciting for a foodie who is very particular with her food. Will come back next time for the build-your-own pasta. Don't let the location fool you, it's worth a visit! We decided to order our food to go today. We ordered the lasagna bolognese and spaghetti bolognese with sausage and mushrooms. Reservations: They seem to take reservations through Yelp, and also use the Yelp Waitlist option (my personal favorite!). Burlingame Ave is cute to walk around while you wait. Parking: Relatively easy to find within the area. Metered, lot, and parking garage options are all available. Ambiance: Small but cute. On the quieter side, would be great for a catchup with a friend or a date night. Wouldn't recommend for a large group though as seating is pretty limited. Food: Delicious and a great variety to pick from! They strive to use local ingredients which I always appreciate. You can pick one of their amazing looking lasagnas, or build your own pasta for a more customizable option. They have gluten free options for my GF friends and it's yummy too. The roasted cheese on top provided some texture changes throughout the dish which was nice. The corn added a light sweetness here and there in the bites. The soup was either a lentil or a butternut squash. It had a nice earthiness too it, wasn't too salty, just needed a stir here and there to even out the ingredients. I've eaten plenty of lasagne. Lasagna is one of my favorite food. Therefore when I discover Capri Lasagneria I was in seventh heaven. There were 4 of us dining. We each ordered a different lasagna and cut them in quarter so we each had a piece of each other's meal. They were all delicious! I couldn't determine which is the best. Our server was amazing! He was very attentive with a smile and made us feel as though we were dining in the comfort of our home. He talked about his wife and new baby, and his wife's favorite lasagna. Our drink glasses were always full. He made us feel like a part of his family. The decor of the restaurant was adorable. I especially love that the chairs placed outside the restaurant. They had throw blankets placed on them. It was such a nice and thoughtful thing to do. Therefore if it gets too cold or windy, throws are available. The main issue I had is that the caprese came out with pesto on it, which isn't listed on the menu we were given, and the pesto is made with walnuts, which is also not noted. Im allergic to walnuts so that could have gone very badly, very quickly. I hope that the owners will make sure to note that on the menu in the future. This is also a more petty issue but the chairs inside are the most uncomfortable chairs i've ever sat on and had a thick, mildew smell to them as they are made out of some kind of fiber or wicker. read more

If anyone reads my few reviews, I travel a lot and i love to share what i find with others. As an Italian, i'm always trying to find a place here in the USA and Bay Area that can cook certain dishes better than me. I ordered take out lasagna alla bolognese from Capri Lasagneria and I was not content. The place is charming, the staff is super friendly, but the lasagna...somewhere along the process the meat sauce was burned. This is an easy flavor to pick out and it killed the flavor of any herbs or the "battuto". It was also tomato heavy, which we northern Italians don't do. I read on the menu that the lasagna had béchamel sauce and not ricotta and I was looking forward to the rich flavor bechamel adds as opposed to ricotta. I couldn't taste the béchamel at all, which gives the northern lasagna its delicate nutmeggy, creamy flavor. I might go back and try a pasta and another sauce but unfortunately the meat sauce just isn't a true bolognese. read more

The salad was very savory and delicious but a star down since it was overly dressed and drenched in too much cheese. I'm obsessed with cheese, so this is something I never thought I'd say. However, the fruit in the salad was excellent and paired wonderfully to balance the flavors. The lasagna was decent. I was trying to decide between the pesto and the zucchini/mais. The server suggested the latter, and I wish I chose differently. I should've chosen something more traditional as this flavor combo didn't hit the lasagna craving for me. I don't think I'd come back for this dish or reorder it. The space is is also really cozy with limited seating so they don't take reservations. There's a parking lot nearby for a small fee. Lunch for 1 was about $50 for a salad, lasagna, drink, tip, and tax. Not the most expensive but not the most affordable for a casual weekday lunch. Cute Italian spot in downtown Burlingame (4.5 stars rounding up)! I came here with one of my friends on a Friday night and there was a short wait. We put our name down and walked around and they texted us when a table was ready. The inside of the restaurant is super cute and they have some movie projected on one of the walls (kind of like Foreign Cinema lol). We started off with the complimentary focaccia which was tasty. For apps, we shared the fried gnocchi which I was super excited to try. It was a fun app and I liked the mushroom sauce it came with. For mains, we both got different lasagnas - I tried the pesto one which was pretty unique and I like how it had corn! We also got the complimentary Tiramisu with the Yelp check in.
