Side of bacon and sourdough toast

I am being nice with the extra star because they really picked it up in the end....walked in and it's open seating so we were fortunate and found a table right away. But then sat there for a good 10 mins before anyone paid attention to us. What's annoying and a pet peeve is when others that sat down after us got attention 1st and I think that's the drawback with a seat yourself place. Inside vibe was not sure but either way completely clean. Once we got waited on all things looked up from here. For food I had the meat lovers omelette add spinach and green chilis. This was a very good omelette and was a huge plate of food. My daughter had the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings and while I didn't sneak a bite she said it was very good. My wife had the capri which consisted of ham, eggs, hash browns on top of English muffins topped with cheese sauce. We had to try the homemade cinnamon roll and to be honest wasn't that great. While it had good flavor it was very dry and would've been better a little warm. The other food everyone enjoyed and would for sure be back to try some more of the menu.

We were looking for a place to have brunch or lunch and we drove by this restaurant so we decided to just stop and go in as we walked in. It was very open. It look nice. You could see the kitchen you seat yourself. Someone comes and brings you some menus and some water and ask you if you want something else to drink. everyone there look very chilled. They were in normal clothes. everyone that work there was having a good time they were on their phones. the person who was bringing us drinks and he was walking around talking on the phone the people in the back bar were just leaning against the bar talking on their phones. Once we order our food was brought to us. I have ordered chicken strips when I got my plate you can definitely see they were not chicken strips or the chicken was bad. I don't know once I poked out it and smelt it. I noticed it was fish. The fish was overcooked very greasy my friend order a chicken sandwich and a pancake with bananas and strawberries which I think that was like literally the only thing that was good the pancake that sandwich was dry so once I let the server know that my food was fish and not chicken, she was like oh it's not chicken I'm like no so she went back to the kitchen. Told to cooks and stuff and they apologize and she remade it. I honestly didn't want anything anymore. I was really turned off by the experience and she said I apologize but there's nothing I can do about taking that item out of your bill. I don't have a button for that then she said I'm just not gonna charge you for the coffee. I was OK that's fine but I learn my lesson. I will not go to Capri restaurant ever again a few years ago. I went to the One downtown and now remember why Istop going. Oh yeah, the crackers were old still they had a funky smell and they taste bad. The broccoli soup was very thick. They didn't really have a good flavor. My experience overall was not that great my friend didn't even eat his food either. We just paid our bill and we decided to leave.

Capri Restaurant won us over fast! I was skeptical when I first saw the half restaurant/half ice cream shop set up, but they might be onto something here. Our group couldn't stray from the daily specials! One ham & cheese omelette and two orders of the banana bread French toast and we were three happy diners. The entire restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve. We felt very taken care of. The prices seemed a bit steep for diner fare, but we left happy so I guess it was worth it!

I pass by the Boise location every day on my way to work ... and I've never been in. I had a hankerin' for some biscuits and gravy, and we hit the Boise location just before noon on Saturday (figuring the breakfast rush would be over). I remembered too late about the festival going on downtown - and there was a line out the door. On a mission to try their biscuits and gravy, we headed to the Meridian location. They share the space with Delsa's ice cream, so when you walk in it's this sort of cafeteria vibe. (A messy cafeteria, that is. The place was about 50% full and tables and chairs still messy and out of place.) There was no sign that said seat yourself or wait, (though later I did see it put away and not out), so, we sat ourselves and waited. And waited. And waited - while watching the staff chillin' behind the counter gabbing and whatnot. I wondered if we were supposed to go up and place our own order and asked the table next to us who said no, they'll come to you. I finally caught a young man walking by to settle a table that came in after us and asked if we could get some menus. We got our menus and then the waitress was there immediately; we asked for more time. I wanted biscuits and gravy, but I also wanted a meal. The waitress said that the toast option on my meal could be a biscuit and they could just put some gravy on it for me - score! Our food came out; rather quickly ... I will say that my chicken fried steak with gravy on it was pretty damn good. The gravy was good, thick, and while you could see the flecks of pepper, it was not at all peppery which is perfect for my taste. However, the hashbrowns, not so much. They looked crunchy and delicious - but the inside was complete mush; flavorless too - no salt at all. Just not good. One of the eggs that we ordered was not cooked. You could see uncooked/clear egg white in it. When the waitress came by to ask how everything was, I showed her the raw egg and she smiled and nodded and said, (not asked), "mm hmm, and you don't like that." Right, no, we don't like raw eggs. She offered nothing - not even to remake another egg. And walked away. When the bill came, I noticed there was a $2.49 charge on it for the biscuit and gravy that she had said "for the toast option it can be a biscuit and we can just put some gravy on it." When she came back, I asked about this and told her that she never said that, and that she should have disclosed this. She just smiled and nodded and said "yeah, there is a small charge for that." I KNOW! I see the bill. Most other restaurants would have taken the charge off or at the very least said they were sorry. Same thing with the raw egg - no apology and no offer to at least re-make the egg. I was really disappointed in the food and even more disappointed in the customer service (or lack thereof). I'm giving them a 2 because the chicken fried steak was good.

    Eggs Benedict?

Hi. I love Capris on Fairview. This was my first Meridian visit. The staff was nice and the restaurant was clean. Our coffee and water stayed full. I had the Eggs Benedict. Sad face. Not sure why the ham wasn't on the biscuit. Eggs were near hard. (Ham was very good). It was the sauce: not good not hollandaise not even industrial strength, restaurant grade hollandaise. Not even gravy. I can only describe it as Annie's Bunny Mac n Chz sauce no Mac. It didn't taste bad, but it did not taste good. Thumbs down on sauce. French toast looked very good. Sad face.

We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Now I get to add Kendra to my list! One of the best breakfast joints in town, hands down! I'm so happy I got to start my birthday week at Moe Joe's! I look forward to coming back very soon.

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

I'm not really in favor of having to give your cell phone number to feed into their app so you know when your table is ready, but there you have it. The inside is pretty cool if you are into that "converted warehouse" feel of exposed beam crossed with a country kitchen feel. Tables aren't crammed together, definitely a sense of space. There are booth options as well. And as I prefer, no TVs. There were 2 groups of 14 that were served during our visit, so they can definitely accommodate larger parties. Our server rarely checked in, took 10 minutes to refill coffee after we requested a top off (she forgot), and never ended up refilling out water. The coffee we did get was good though. As always, I'm a hollandaise connoisseur as the foundation for perfect Benedict - my go to breakfast item. So I asked for a sample before I ordered, and I'm glad I did. The Griddle's hollandaise was curious. It was clearly about 25-50% powdered mix (which tastes like nasty beef gravy) with the balance being added clarified butter and a very strong dose of lemon. It was marginal, but good enough. So, I went with the crab cake Benedict. The crab cakes were a bit "fishy," so the strong lemon flavor was a plus. After flagging down our server, I requested a new poached egg as one of them arrived hard boiled. (I want runny yolks as hard boiled are too chalky for my taste.) The replacement egg was delivered very quickly. My guest had the banana Texas french toast special with added bacon and scrambled eggs. Bacon was nice and thick, nicely cooked. Scrambled eggs are pretty much just that. The french toast did have great body to it, but I'm not a huge banana fan. Still enjoyed it though. I would consider this an option for a revisit.

This was 12 minutes after registering. One notification for the combined messages. So, as I waited for the table ready message I missed our 10 minute warning. Was this some screw up of their messaging provider? Pretty lousy implementation. So when we finally asked why the "15 minute wait m" became 35 we found out our reservation had expired. When asked whst they could do under the circumstances, we were told we'd have to go to the bottom of the list and wait again. This time for 20 minutes. Apparently, this Griddle location is where customer service goes to die. Meanwhile, we hopped over to Joe Mama's where their messaging system is much more informative and intuitive. Not to mention it works. We may patronize other Griddle locations. Maybe. But this one's off the list.

We also tried the Kobe sliders, but they fell short of the Chicken Sliders with their tender, juicy cuts of breast. The lineup of drinks are on full display at the bar and with scannable menus. This is a solid place for bringing friends or family for a gathering - yes, like the name suggests "Common". Many mother's day outings here with my daughter before I worked my 13 hour shift serving other moms. It will forever hold the best memories for me. It has been close to 9 years since I have eaten here. Moving towards the north end created a big distance between us. But I was in the area with my neice today so we stopped in for breakfast. There's no other place in Meridian that I'd rather eat breakfast at! I remember this joint when the old owners owned it. It honestly was run down, old and dated. Your typical greasy spoon. My friend, Bob, took it over about 10 years ago and has totally given it the face lift it needed. It's brighter, cleaner and welcoming. I love the fresh flowers with our beautiful country's flag by the front door. I love the flowers painted on the windows too, it gives it such a fun appearance. I love the bright white building with the black trim. I love the bright lines in the parking lot. It's been revamped outside and it's gorgeous. Inside of the venue has had work done as well. The drapes were red, white and blue to go with the 4th of July. I love that they decorated for America's birthday. I'm sure they change it through the different holidays. The lighting is brighter. The decor is simple and fun. It just looks cleaner and fresh inside. It's not the old greasy spoon it used to be. My neice and I decided to sit at the bar, that's where my daughter and I used to eat at all the time. Kaitlyn greeted us and got our drinks started. I got hot coffee and my neice got an orange juice. I appreciate the creamer they had neatly placed by the condiments. It was nice not to have them just thrown in a bowl. Little details like that are fantastic. After breezing over the menu, we got our food placed with Kaitlyn. I got the popeye omelet with only 2 eggs instead of 3, cheddar instead of Swiss with no onions or mushrooms. I got fruit instead of bread and potatoes. My neice got the Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream on top with a side of hashbrowns. My omelet was cooked perfectly. It had a generous amount of spinach. We know spinach shrinks really bad when it's cooked and vanishes. You can tell they didn't hold back with the spinach. The cheese was nice and melty in the middle. Even though I asked for my omelet to be 1 egg shy of it's normal 3, I only ate half. It was a hearty omelet. My fruit was ok. It wasn't fresh fruit but I didn't mind. I ate a much as I could. My neice polished half of her huge waffle. It looked tasty with the berries and whipped cream. The side of hashbrowns was no joke. It was such a huge portion! We ate about a third of it and took the rest home to enjoy later. My friend, Bob has done such an amazing job making this place his own. Express Cafe will always be one of Meridian's best breakfast joints. The amount of years it's been around speaks for itself. I'm so proud of Bob and all that he's done. The food was good today. Service from Kaitlyn was fantastic! I'm just sad that it took my close to 9 years to come back. That's going to change and I look forward to having Express Cafe be a part of my day sometime soon. I won't allow another 9 years to pass by.
