Great service every time we go. Coffee is alright. The food is always great! Great chicken fried steaks and omelettes! Had the corned beef hash today, made in house and it was fantastic! We come here regularly. Our favorite server is Hannah! She is the best waitress ever. Food has always been great! Even my Mom likes it! Prices are reasonable considering the amout of food you get! My wife and I and occasionally a friend of mine from Meridian swear by this place! BRI is the best of the best, just can't say enough about her. Now this morning we are taking my best friend for over 50 years there as his first meal on his trip from California. It wasn't even a question as to where we were going to go. Quick lunch for us today and we decided to try this recommended location. No masks in evidence except for us. I had the fried chicken salad and my DH had the special Chicken Pot Pie. As I type this review, just thinking about the mouth watering omelette that I enjoyed here has my mouth salivating. The food was outstanding, however, not as outstanding as the customer service. The term "Family" restaurant is the perfect name for this little joint. You are treated like family, and well taken care of from the seating to the extra cup of coffee. Lori was an absolute gem. Nobody wants a crabby waitress and she was quite the opposite. Her spunky personality had me laughing and a few sweet comments of her's had my heart bursting with joy. So, basically. Holy guacamole the food here is DELICIOUS. I'm from the south (TN) and I love all southern foods and going anywhere west of the Mississippi can make it a challenge for finding good southern comfort food-- especially breakfast. The sunrise family restaurant nailed it. The biscuits are massive and cooked to perfection. Especially when they are smothered in sausage gravy. Hannah was our waitress and she made the experience even better. She was running all over the place, helping everyone, and even though she might have felt like a chicken with her head cut off she didn't show it. She was by far the best waitress I've ever had take care of me. The team work between everyone working was also phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and kind and it was greatly appreciated. Very nice overall. Service was friendly and the food was reasonably fast (I'd estimate around 15 minutes), despite a decent number of patrons. (This was around 8:30 am on Sunday.) Restaurant seemed quite clean. I got the Sausage or Bacon with sausage links, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and a cinnamon roll for around $10.00. Every thing was very delicious. Sausage was tasty and nicely crispy on the outside, eggs were well cooked, hash browns were crispy, and the cinnamon roll was, fresh, cinnamon-y, and delicious. Only two small personal critiques: 1. The sausage patty was a little too salty for my taste. (I sampled some of a family member's.) 2. The cinnamon roll's frosting lacked cream cheese (basically icing). This was somewhat offset by the addition of a dollop of butter on top, which was surprisingly tasty. All in all, this is a great breakfast stop for your next trip to Caldwell! read more

Sunrise is a locally loved restaurant. Great food and decent prices- but unfortunately we waited almost 30 minutes for our food on a not so busy Friday morning. The food was 5 stars- got the sausage lovers breakfast, kids pancake and bacon, and chicken fried steak breakfast. Very happy with the taste, temperature and seasoning on our breakfasts. Love that cinnamon rolls are a bread option with breakfast. The food came out hot- but we were SO HUNGRY and with 2 little kids waiting 30 minutes for food is not for the faint of heart. We'll be back and hopefully it'll be quicker service. read more

I have always been a big fan of the restaurant and have dinner there quite often and usually leave with a satisfied stomach BUT since the new menu and prices were raised sorry to see the portions have gotten ridiculously small the last few times that I have eaten dinner there I have left still hungry and need more to satisfy myself the service has also fell off the deep end. I am going to have to find a new place to dine since I live on a fixed income. Please I don't mind a little more money but would like to leave satisfied. Lol read more

I believe we just ordered the wrong thing for breakfast - the early bird special. A very dry over cooked omelet with English muffin. The muffin was not warm enough,let alone toasted, to melt the butter spread on it However, one of the persons in our group ordered a very decent Reuben sandwich. read more

This was my first time here and I was surprised how full the parking lot was and even more surprised how many people could fit inside. Yet it wasn't so crazy that we had to wait to be seated, they can handle it! The food was really good and the servers were friendly and attentive. You know how you go to a restaurant and you love it and don't want to tell anyone else, because you don't want it to get so busy you can't get in anymore? We'll Sunrise in Caldwell is that place! Sure we had to wait(it was Sunday), but once we got our meal, it was worth the wait. Thick crispy bacon, melt in your mouth biscuit and a huge soft gooey cinnamon roll. AMAZING! Our waitress did everything she could to get us our meal as quickly as possible considering how busy they were. The wait staff and manager is always courteous and exceptional. WOWZA! I am a fan. Now I must say that I have been here probably 50 times over the last 13 years. I first went here in 2003 when you could smoke in it! My kids were so little(then under 5) and now their teens! I could feed my family healthy portions and for a little bill. The food is so very tasty and their staff is amazing. So many of their staff stick around year after year and there is no secrete as to why. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. I don't think this place can get better. I thank this Sunrise for all of the family members. My son loved their ranch when he was 3 (they make their own) so much that he would eat it with his fingers! My kids would play with the liquid creamers cups and make pyramids and just laugh when I would knock them over and fly across the table. TAKE YOUR KIDDOS! :) read more

My friend and I came to Sunrise Cafe as it has been one of her favorite spots to eat when we have the funds to go out. She ordered their club sandwich and asked to have it split to share with me as she wasn't very hungry and I was short on funds and just had a cinnamon roll. She ordered a side salad and asked how much it was because the price wasn't listed. The waitress said she wasn't sure; and my friend waved it off and said don't worry about it; I'll just have it. When our tickets arrived, she was appalled to find her tiny salad cost $5, when she stated "last time it cost $1" when she questioned the manager, she reported that management "makes customers pay the regular price if the plate is split." When we asked to be shown where this is stated in the menu, they reported that it's not specified there. Understandably my friend was pretty peeved. When our waitress, Shelia, overheard and saw how frustrated my friend was with the restaurant's lack of transparency, she offered us a few dollars and said, "here, this is all I have." My friend thanked her and refused, then leaving her a tip for her kind service and offer. The food was great, the waitress was awesome, "management" needs to be more transparent. read more
