The raw bar is fresh (tasty with the condiments), but come on Wednesdays to indulge in oysters, as they're only $1 each (versus $14 for 6). I was quite disappointed in the seafood boil. I ordered the 3 seafood combo that comes with a free crawfish or mussel. My friend and I chose the Louisiana boil with mild heat. I thought for the price, they would do it by each seafood by pound but I'm pretty sure it wasn't done that way. Therefore I don't find it worth it here. I got the crawfish, snow crab leg, shrimp, and the free addition of mussels. The whole thing felt like 3 pounds or less. The crawfish was dry, small, flavorless, with barely any meat - I should have gotten live ones. Maybe that would make a difference. The shrimp, mussels, and sauce were good though. Service was also good. GARLIC NOODLES IS A MUST GET after your meal (so u can dip it in the leftover sauce). I basically can't justify the price for the crawfish quality and the quantity given. I went to Cap't Loui yesterday and was highly disappointed. My bf and I sat down and was shortly greeted by someone who then brought us water and said he'll be back to take our order. We waited at least 15 mins for him to come back. So annoying ... plus the place was empty. There were literally only 3 tables (that's including my bf & I) taken. I don't see the guy for a little while and then I see him behind the bar, literally not paying attention. I finally got his attention, He comes back and asks "are you being helped?" I said NO & he says "it's because she was making drinks". She as in the bartender who I saw making drinks smh. Anyway. Order is placed, food starts to come out and then it was another hassle to get someone's attention to tell them we need seafood cracker tools. I have recently been introduced to craw fish by a friend of mine who lived in New Orleans for a few years. Let me start by saying, what the heck have I been missing out on?!? First place I tried it was at "The Boil, which was good. But this place was DELICIOUS. The marinade they use is so flavorful. I started with the clam chowder which was pretty good, not to thick or soupy, how I prefer my clam chowders. Then we shared the jambalaya which was Ok. However, I wouldn't need to order them again. When choosing which broil it's a 5 step selection, I chose shrimp, crab legs & crawfish. with this 3 seafood combo you get either free crawfish or mussels. I chose to double up on the crawfish. As flavor I picked Louisiana with mild flavor. I have tried the HOT flavor before and it was too spicy for me and I have a high tolerance for spiciness. Sides: sausage, corn and potatoes. Gave this place two stars and only because I'm being NICE. If claw daddy's was Beyoncé this would be the Michelle of seafood boil places. For ONE,their happy hour drinks are only wine and like 3 other cocktails. They don't include the pouch drinks (which claw daddy's does until 7:30pm) Next, the food is oily and really not seasoned. Nice spice level, but it just doesn't hit. The only thing I DID like was the fact that they include the noodles IN the bag which actually tastes good. Who doesn't love a great seafood boil? I came here for the first time this past weekend. Though this place had mixed reviews, I wanted to check it out for myself. When I arrived, I was a little confused. There is no reception area to greet guest as you walk in. Literally you open the door and there are tables with people eating. There is a tiny bench near the entrance and that is the waiting area or you just stand in front of the door. So I stood there and looked around and all the workers were going about their business. I asked the people sitting on the bench if I should just stand there if I wanted a table, and they said yes. So we stood there. Finally, after about 5 minutes, a waiter comes over and takes the people who were waiting on the bench---but did not acknowledge me. Oh well, i continued to wait. I think I waited another 10 minutes and then someone came over and asked how many people were in my party, and then seated me immediately. I didn't let this part of the experience get to me too much. On to the food! I ordered snow crab legs and shrimp in the Cajun sauce (the other choice is lemon pepper) and i chose medium spiciness. That came with potatoes and corn and a free side of french Fries or garlic noodles. I chose the garlic noodles. The Cajun sauce was delicious! Honestly can say it's one of the best I've had from a seafood boil place. I must say that the menu threw me off a little. Next to the seafood options they list the prices but don't specify if it's the price per pound. So when the waitress came over I asked if the price was per pound and if I could order a half pound and she said no. She mentioned that the seafood you are served is a little under a pound. Bummer! I would have loved to order more seafood. I ordered the Mr. Rich drink (adult Capri sun style). I think it was made with vodka, lychee, and pineapple juice. It was terrific. Nice and strong and great flavor. I tried my friends drink which was the madam berry and it was also really good. For dessert, (yes I managed to save room, I ordered the funnel cake fries with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was perfect. Overall the food and drinks were great. The ambience is okay. The setup of the restaurant is a little awkward. Went here with two friends so we opted for the 3 seafood combo that comes with free mussel or crawfish. We chose the mussel. They only have two types of sauces - Louisiana or lemon pepper. I'm docking stars because of this limitation, wish there were more options. In addition to the seafood, they also throw in corn and potato into the mix. I think they actually just throw the potato in, whole and all, so it didn't tasted so good. And they only give you like two corns.. The Louisiana sauce was okay, I felt like it lacked some more spices to really get the flavor. For the price, I felt like it wasn't much. I wish it was sold by the pound or something to know how much you're actually getting. Our 3 seafood combo came in one bag, and I felt like there wasn't much to it. Yesterday I went to Cap't Loui with friends. It seemed as if everyone was in the mood for seafood. We had an hour wait which went be fairly quickly. This was my second time at the restaurant . It is very small I say all the time that they need a way larger space for the amount of guest traffic they have. As usual the food was amazing! I feel as though they could give more shrimps and they only gave me one small corn on the cob and one potato. Other than that the flavor is amazing. I got the Louisiana sauce with the spice level of hot! I love anything hot so this combination is perfect fit me. I also had the adult Capri sun in the Madame Berry flavor. I typically don't like my seafood fried because most places miss the mark on having good batter but not here. Wow! This place is downright amazing! My boyfriend and I tried their Madam Berry and Mr. Rich cocktails which were both refreshing. We decided to get cajun fries to start. I loved how thin and crispy they were and they were seasoned perfectly. We picked a boiler with shrimps, snow crab legs, king crab legs and the free mussels with their Louisiana sauce. What a winner for a seafood boil in a bag! Cherice, our friendly server, was very attentive and she made sure everything was great with a smile on her face. The manager and the owner was also very hands on in the business. They were checking up on the customers and greeting them. They were very nice to give us a free funnel cake fries for dessert. A short drive over the GW Bridge from the Bronx, Cap't Loui is one of the smoothest trips I've made (as long as it's not during rush hour!) to satiate my seafood boil cravings. The area itself is beautiful, as my sister described it as a small "utopia" far away from the loud sounds and harsh lights of the inner city. The big sign saying 'Cap't Loui' is nice and vibrant and definitely welcoming. Once you enter, you can notice the entire restaurant is lively, with familiar music hits and a clientele that isn't afraid to enjoy their food without fear of being judged for their mannerisms of eating. Not to say that people here were being improper, rather it's a bit embarrassing going into a seafood boil for the first time and eating with your hands and shanks. Yet, our waiter Dan, who was the most comforting presence made us feel at home and prepared us for eating at this type of establishment for the first time. The menu itself was small and simple, as most good menus are. Having a small menu allows them to focus on the quality of the food itself rather than allowing unnecessary variety. Besides the simpleness of the menu, our waiter made sure to point us out to a deal that I could take advantage of since I came with my family to save money as well as get extra food on our plates which I greatly appreciated. The food itself once it arrived looked absolutely riveting. My immigrant parents, who never go out to eat and are still uncomfortable with the different types of cuisine available in this new country were engrossed with the food and the mannerisms needed to eat a seafood boil. The Cap't Loui's sauce itself was absolutely delicious, which tasted nice and flavorful on the snow crab and the lobster we ordered, and paired amazingly well with rice. Our waiter, even though he was running around in circles helping all of the other patrons always made time to check-in and help us out if needed. Looking for an affordable & filling dinner? This can be achieved at Loui Loui! I'm a huge fan of their sausage, & you can literally make a dinner for yourself from just ordering side dishes. Each time I've been here I've ordered the 1/2 pound of sausage w/extra sauce (more than enough for 1 person--great to share), steamed rice & most recently the potatoes. Everything has tasted great each time I've ordered. The potatoes were a perfect texture and had great flavor. The sausage can last for a couple of meals, and the rice is cooked exactly how steamed rice should be cooked (their rice is reminiscent of the kind of rice you'd get at an authentic Asian restaurant/ or at your family's house (if you come from an Asian family). This is awesome because I rarely order rice since it is not always cooked that great in some restaurants. Although I haven't ordered anything else on the menu, I'm sure all the food is great.
