This is the best uptown high end Mexican restaurant and it's been here for many decades. They also have excellent steak and seafood with a full bar and sports on TV screens. I love to come here for a big Porterhouse Steak, Filet Mignon, Baby Back Ribs, Grilled Salmon, Shrimp Cocktail, Seafood Ceviche, Lobster Tails, Enchiladas, Tacos, and Fajitas. I also love the "Guadalupe Margarita"- it's a frozen lime margarita mixed with sangria, and an extra shot of tequila. So many great options, prepared perfectly, and served by excellent waiters and bartenders.

We took a chance on this place in NYC. It was located in uptown NYC. Authentic Mexican restaurant. A little bit of a language barrier, but that is on me. I really felt the servers were anxious to serve us. I called ahead to be certain they would be open 4th of July. The person who answered was very welcoming. So off we went. It was about a 40 minute subway ride with all the stops. The fajitas (steak and chicken mix) were pretty good. The steak was a little bit overcooked to almost burnt. Not every one of the steak pieces though. Chicken seemed fine. The restaurant had a nice feel to it. If I'm in the area again, I may try it again.

Enjoying the Best Hamburger in Inwood. I don't know what they do but the burgers are so great. Luis is great served that takes great care of us. And it's so great with the music and comfy atmosphere.

Step into this restaurant vibrating with great food and ambiance . The cuisine is a mix of Dominican/ Mexican food . The flavors were a unique and delicious mix of cultures . The salsa music was playing and the servers and waitresses were super attentive and professional . For appetizers we had the house guacamole and coconut shrimp We had the chicken fajitas / stuffed chicken and house special of filet mignon and shrimp For dessert we had the tres leches Nothing disappointed!!! If your in the heights Must try ! The cocktails were perfection Passion fruit margaritas

It was such a nice restaurant and the bartender was such a sweet lady and kind she made me nice tequila with lime. The food was so delicious, the servers were friendly. They also had a nice singer there playing the guitar. I would highly recommend this place if you're in the Inwood area, they have nice flat screens to watch the All Star game. We had a lot of food, shrimp mofongo, chicken fajitas, enchiladas and ribs and rice and so much more, the drinks are very good. The kicker is that they have valet parking

    Margaritas are so good.

The atmosphere in this favorite restaurant of many in Inwood is positively radiating but honestly it's the only thing that was not exaggerated or overhyped in previous reviews I read that rave about the drinks, food/ambience. Prior to dining here with my wife last night I was told by some that it's the best spanish (Mexican) restaurant in the area but now that we've been here, I realize those people were likely inexperienced diners who may have just enjoyed who they ate with more than what they actually paid to eat or drink at Guadalupe. It should be noted that everyone we saw working here is Dominican which may hint as to why the food fails to deliver traditional flavors. This restaurant is highly overrated and overpriced, I recommend skipping this for the price you pay - you may be highly disenchanted. If not for the elegant bar, live musicians singing Merengue, Salsa, Bachata or Boleros evenings & the ideal location (walking distance to bus & trains) I don't believe this poorly lit restaurant would be as popular or alluring to enter. Drinks: My wife had the Mango Tango which she enjoyed after mixing it a bit better herself & thanks to our female Bartender (she didn't give us her name) who told us in advance how sweet the drink is which prepared her palette. I had the Guadalupe which is refreshing, light & made with the right amount of Tequila & garnished with blueberries. 2nd round I had a Piña Colada which was just "okay". Appetizer: We ordered the "New Sampler" for $44 which was supposedly suitable for 2 people but made with 1 piece of each meat thinly cut into small pieces. The meats taste delicious but the thin cuts of fried porkchop, chicken breast, a quarter piece of the churrasco chopped up, chorizo & what seemed like less than 1 fully cut up green plantain made into tostones with no greens/salad coupled with a non creative/elegant presentation & it's cheap portion of Tostones made this a dissapointing dish. Entree: Enchilada with yellow rice & black beans - Plated were 2 pieces of chicken enchilada with green sauce which we found odd because even at the most no frill Mexican eatery or taco stand you get a minimum of 3 pieces when ordering an enchilada. Sadly once again no greens on the plate for garnish but fortunately the dish itself was to my wife's liking as far as taste. Churrasco with rice & beans - Finally the chef put a tea cup party pinch of salad on one of our plates. The dish was first brought to me with rice & vegetable mix in error but Kevin 1 of the 2 waiters serving patrons eating at the bar quickly switched it out for us. He was by far the best staffer there who tended to us. I say that given no one bothered to offer or serve water as all restaurants do with any meal & the other server reached over our plate instead of placing our meals in front of us from our side instead of reaching over our shoulders. The meal itself was nothing special & honestly I've had better churrasco at Inwood Bar & Grill for Sunday brunch with appetizer, dessert & drink for less than $25. Owner & Management needs to do a better job training waiters to serve properly, emphasize that your bartenders give their names to develop repor with patrons, don't charge guests $1 for sauces (chimichurri & garlic) that should come with meal ordered, assign a worker to sanitize & maintain cleanliness of bathrooms so the floor in mensroom is not slippery from urine sprayed on floor, invest in the NFL network as you could have more diners or drink sales at the bar & don't charge 18% gratuity to a couple like us seated at the bar - the service we received & the meal would never warrant a $167 cost which included an unearned nor deserved $21 tip. If not for the fact that Host & Bartender were tentative & allowed us privacy & time to order I would have disputed that stupid Gratuity charge which again was not earned. Valet parking is offered on busy 207th St. (no parking lot) & it's located a few feet from 207th St. "A" train station, the Bx12 Select bus & 3 blocks from the #1 train station.

Returned back to this restaurant. Parking in the area was a challenge, but the vibe, service, food, and drinks were worth the drive around for a spot. Recommend

Loved this hidden gem. I am from out of town and my cousin brought our family here to celebrate my mother's birthday. The food was delicious and fresh! They brought us this delicious chips and salsa that were so yummy and addicting! I asked for more chips and salsa! The salsa tasted home made, spicy and all ingredients on point! I ordered their shrimp creole with veggies and a side of tostones (fried plantains). I ordered Morir Soñando mojitos all night because they were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! At the end of our meal, the staff came to sing my mom Happy Birthday...our family had a great time. They also had a a live musician all night and he was great. Great music, ambience and great attentive staff. The restaurant seemed real busy being the middle of a weeknight, with some wait when we got there. Make sure you call ahead and make reservations if offered. I will definitely come back every time I am in town!

Great ambiance for intimate dinner or date night due to location and size of tables. Can be very loud. Great friendly service, and food was prepared well.

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
