The storefront is very cute with off-street parking. This is a more customizable donut shop that's topped to order. They have a selection of donuts with various toppings or you can make your own. The donuts are flaky and crumbles when you bite into them. The toppings are fun and there's something for everyone. These are normal sized donuts and are pretty light.

SO many options! But you know what I deem odd... they don't have glazed donuts. I feel like glazed is such a staple and a a base line for comparing donuts. But anyways- there were 17 of us so I snuck out on Sunday morning to buy a dozen. I went back to the hotel, cut all the donuts into 4's and then we had a donut sampler. I can share, the donuts were ok. Nothing special although I do appreciate what they a re doing but nothing knocked my socks off. Birthday cake: lacked flavor but kids like sprinkles! Smores: Something odd here, can't put my finger on it Fluffernutter: This was my favorite but the gobs of peanut butter were inconsistent and I got a bite that made me feel the age old dog when the doorbell goes off. Just too much! French toast: I am not a huge cinnamon fan and as soon as I bit into it i regretted trying this one but I can share as i continued with the bit it got more enjoyable Buttercrunch: the chocolate topping took over Cannoli: I have had cannoli donuts elsewhere. I appreciate that they make cannoli donuts becuase not a lot of palces do. It was messy. It had too much chocolate. Not enough actually cannoli taste because it's all in the center. I can say- thank for the ninja turtle donut. My son got a huge kick out of it!

Are they ever open? How do you afford to run your shop for 15 hours a week? Went there at least ten times in the past two years. 8 times out of 10 they were closed. Shop closes at noon and open on weekends only. Donuts seems to be very much regular donuts, with high fructose syrup glaze that is mixed from right in front of you.

The donuts look beautiful, but the taste is just okay. There was a line but it moved quickly, customer service was warm.

Ah, Captain Baker's. Obviously, they have the best donuts ever. But I also come here for the breakfast sandwiches. Delicious!! I love all the creative combos you can choose in the donut department. They have a nice gift shop in the back. I bought a T-shirt (I don't mind advertising for these guys, so that should tell you something), and recently I bought a Cape Cod Monopoly game. Super!

The cutest donut shop! A donut for everyone. So many different and unique flavors to pick from. Donuts were extremely fresh and flavorful. The size is perfect! Friendly staff, seats available inside and out. Cute little gift area too! Will definitely return to try some new flavors!

Very cute interior and a ton of "flavors." You can make your own by picking a glaze, topping, base donut etc. They also have pre-selected flavor combinations to select. None of the donuts are filled - they are all topped with either icing or the "filling" itself. For example, the apple caramel donut pictured here is an old fashioned, with vanilla glaze/icing, caramel drizzle and apple pie filling on top in the center. The donuts themselves are fresh, but extremely sweet. I think if you want a "lighter" version, you'd have to select a plain or old fashioned base with a glaze on top, at most. The donuts are a decent size; I'd think one is enough depending on the kind and your appetite! The employee was nice enough and told me what was popular. TLDR: novel shop with cute ambiance and interesting selection of donuts you can "create." On the pricier side for what it is but I'd return just to sample other flavors!

Nice little donut shop on Cape Cod with some gourmet, specialty donuts perfect to kick off the morning. The donuts have some real art to them and the specialty donuts are hand-dipped/topped to order. If you like being adventurous and trying some unique flavors then this is the donut shop for you! They also have some more traditional cake donuts but go big or go home when you're at Captain Baker Donuts. We had one dirt donut which was a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and a gummy worm, a traditional cinnamon sugar donut and then a blueberry muffin donut which was a blueberry donut with an icing drizzle and some crumble on top. The coffees were decent but nothing to write home about. The backyard of Captain Baker Donuts had a few tables set up which made for a nice spot to enjoy your donut and coffee outdoors. There also is a small gift shop in a shed-like building out back so get a little shopping done post-chowing down on a donut.

The old fashioned donuts on their own are pretty good (not too sweet). They have a cake/crumbly texture. But the frosting/glazes, toppings, drizzles can easily make them way too sweet. Recommend the bam-bam (tastes like fruity pebbles and surprisingly not too sweet) and blueberry muffin donut. The raspberry lemonade was too sugary and we didn't like the flavor. The Rose Victorian wasn't too memorable, tastes just Iike any other strawberry donut. Go for a different flavor. Other things to note: - All donuts are definitely pretty looking and Instagram worthy. - The shop is cute but only has one table inside. - You can see the workers glaze and top your donut. - Place is only open 7am-12pm. - Crowded, but lines move fast. Take a look at the menu and have your order ready in advance. - Credit cards accepted. Worth at least one visit if you're out on the Cap2

We couldn't find this last year so we made a point if finding it this year. Deliciousness with so many options. And I had pistachio iced coffee too. We chose the lemon cloud( it was filled in the hole only ), Italiano which was gooey yet the right amount of expression and lastly a butter crunch (could have used more butter crunch get on top). We've never had "cake type donuts" that were so light and airy . 3 donuts was just over $10 -- eating deliciousness at Captain Baker Donut Shop.

Captain Baker Donuts has donuts for everyone! You can stick with the classics or make your own creation. They also have an extensive menu with fun donut offerings like the Coffee Crumb donut (pictured). Donuts are topped to order. Great for kids and adults. The donuts are light and fluffy, and not too big. The inside offers minimal seating but there are picnic tables out back to eat at. There is a parking lot but it's fairly small. I'd recommend Captain Baker Donuts if you're looking for something different than your typical diner breakfast.

The doughnuts of every kid's dream. Captain Baker focuses on sugary creations crafted with the ultimate sweet tooth in mind. As a personal preference, I don't like my doughnuts too sweet. I like interesting flavors without being overwhelmed by the sugar. These doughnuts felt like eating a birthday cake given the amount of sweetness in each bite. Many people like this level of sweetness but it was a little too much for me. Again personal preference here. We got the strawberry lemonade doughnut, smores doughnut, and the skipper breakfast sandwich. Both doughnuts were good, a heavy cake doughnut and generous coating of icing but the sweetness got to me after a few bites. They certainly aren't the fancy doughnuts you'd expect from Blackbird or Union Square in the city but a step up from Dunkin' Breakfast sandwich was standard and delicious. Met expectations of a egg, cheese, Canadian bacon on a bagel which is a good thing. On a busy morning the parking lot is a nightmare because it is tight and you have a lot of cars trying to back out and turn around. They make each individual doughnut to order so there is a little bit of a wait but it wasn't too bad. The inside was really crowded and tight which wasn't great in this time of COVID. Anyways it's a solid place to check out as part of the Cape experience and a nice place to take your kids.

The donut shop offered fair prices for unique and rare donut flavors. However, the service felt rushed as you have limited time to decide on pricing and options while in line. Although I didn't try their coffee, the coconut flavor sounded appealing, and they had an impressive range of flavors. It's worth mentioning that they had good gluten-free options. The shop is very cute as well with staff well-knowledgeable in what they are selling. Personally, I found the donuts a bit disappointing. While they were presented well, they lacked depth in flavor and variety. The half dozen I purchased consisted mostly of old-fashioned base donuts with only one different flavor (chocolate, shocker). For specialty donuts, I expected a more diverse selection. I was hoping for some filled donuts at the very least to add more excitement to the overall experience. Especially for the apple pie donut to be filled, but nope, it wasn't. It's good for a one time for the experience but definitely wouldn't go again.

The best donuts on the Cape! Light airy, and SO yummy. The Boston Creme, Jelly and glazed were fantastic! Definitely going back for more.

Food - 5.5/10 Service - 5/10…read more As others have said the wait was quite long over 30 mins but they were pretty busy and the wifi stopped working while I was trying to pay. The vibes were good they had live music and the inside was nice although I wish there were more chairs or at least more chairs at some tables. We sat in the back as we waited and tried asking for wait times but they told us they didn't know which was our order even tho we gave a name when paying. Since we have 5 sandwiches we didn't try to ask more. The sandwiches itself were decent nothing really stuck out and for the wait time I wouldn't say it was worth. The sandwich was pretty thin not super filling but for Cape Cod I would say it's a decent sandwich. I would recommend just making your own, the total of making ur own is cheaper than the sandwiches they had and it's just easier for your own liking. We came around 12-1 pm and by that time they were out of everything bagel but there are a lot of different bagels or breads to choose. We also ordered a cannoli with chocolate chips but they only but it on half, idk if that's usually a thing but first time we had like that.
