    Hamburger and onion rings.
    David B.

The hamburgers were good but average and for the price not worth it compared to other hamburger joints in town. The onion rings were average at best but the fries were really good. It's a cool old spot, but I'd go to others before coming back. Service was fast. Ambience was cool retro.

Funny name...SERIOUSLY good food! We were greeted kindly, didn't have to wait long at all to order in line or on the food itself. We ordered jr burger with cheddar all the way, fries whizzbang style (melted cheddar, ground bacon, diced red onion, and whizzbang sauce; a double whizpig (1/2 beef, 1/2 ground bacon) and onion rings. My jr burger was perfectly cooked, seasoned and had the freshest veggies including sliced red onion (im picky about onion on a burger). The whizzbang fries were incredibly delicious very well done, super crispy fries so as not to get soggy at all, perfectly melted cheese...SO good. I've gotta dedicate a sentence or two or three to these onion rings. You know when onion rings are done right when you can bite through them and it's a clean bite, the batter sticks to the onion, the onion doesn't pull out or away. The batter is very well seasoned, crispy and not greasy at all. These were pretty awesome onion rings! Hubby had the whizpig and said it was good, I tried a bite not knowing what to expect and it was good, just very smoky due to the bacon and we weren't quite expecting it to be so smoky, think backyard bbq burger kind of smoky flavor. Overall, we loved the place and would definitely go back when in the area.

Fire spot. If you are looking for a solid, chard burger be sure to come over here. You know it's going to be good when there's cheese oozing out of the wrapper. The right amount of grease and spread to make a nice blanket for the burger to sit on the bun. Friendly and helpful staff that did not have any problem going the extra mile to make sure our burgers could safely make it back home without the blanket of grease ruining the bun. Mother had the Whizz-Pig which DOES SOUND TEMPTING but upon trying it. Eh. Not so much. To bacon forward for my personal preference. If this is your first rodeo, get the classic hamburger and get your friend to get the bacon burger. Could Waco be the best underground burger capital or Texas. Maybe. Just maybe. Would come back

Great service, fantastic burger and tots. Been in the area 3 weeks, and this is the best burger I've had. I ll be back.

One of the better burgers in Waco. Very old burger joint. I dig it. I like it when the burger doesn't have a huge bun. I used 8 napkins to eat this burger!

This place has some really good burgers The patty is packed with flavor! I don't know if I've been to a place where the patty was seasoned so much, ! The Whizzbang fries are super if you like loaded fries.

I was driving down the road and passed a sign for hamburgers, but drove around the block and thought "what the heck, let's try it out." Burger places typically underwhelm me and aren't my first choice, but I was hungry and this place was close. Even though I eat meat, I absolutely love the Beyond Meat burgers, and was pleasantly surprised to see they had this on their menu. I enjoyed this vegan burger with all of the veggies and mustard. The gluten-free bun that accompanies this patty was lightly toasted and buttered (so, not entirely vegan). I give two thumbs up!

Been around as old as I am.

Yummiest Turkey burger I've had in years. Only downside is the long wait for "fast food"

This place is good! Even though the patties are really thin, they are packed with flavor and the burger is good! The fries are great too :)

Love the Whizz Pig, which is a mixed ground beef and bacon patty in a standard Texas burger. Sweet potato fries are solid.

Quality is tied with Double R, but the Wizzpig takes the cake. Add a malt, and it's my favorite burger joint on the map.

Very good burgers done the old fashioned way. I'll take those few extra calories, for that kind of burger. A Waco treasure!!

The vibe is very laid back and chill. The food was really good, we had a couple kids meals (cheeseburgers), a BYOB and I got the Gosh Jam It Burger and added Fried Onions, Bacon and Chipotle Sauce. The burger was yummy and the flavors blended well! We also enjoyed an order of fried pickles at the table along with samples of their free flavored pickles not pictured. I ordered the fried pickles and I thought they would come out as an appetizer, but they were put next to the burger as a side so I was disappointed in that. The fried pickles were way too thick for my liking although they were breaded well. What's neat about this place is the variety of different flavored pickles that they have in the corner for you to eat. I really did like that!! There's a bar in the center of the floor and although I didn't get anything from the bar, I did like the setup. The burger itself was okay. Not spectacular, but not the worst. Would I eat here again? I think I would.

We got seated right away around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There appeared to be only two servers covering the entire room but they did a pretty good job of it. Our waiter, a young man was quite pleasant and knowledgeable. He used an electronic order taking device and was able to customize anything we asked for, right in the device. Three of us ordered shakes. My friend loves Coconut Cream Pie, which they have and she was considering a shake. I suggested she ask our server if he could make her a Coconut Cream Pie shake with vanilla ice cream. Sure enough, he did it and it was quite tasty. For lunch, we ordered as follows: - Patty Melt with Tots (shared by my wife and I) - Kids Finger Basket with 1 Chicken and 1 Steak finger and tots - Steak Finger Basket with Tots The food was very diner diner-like (fried or flat top grilled) and it was tasty. This was a decent and fun lunch and we'd stop here again.

For dessert, Apple pie with ice cream -- good and reliable. Lemon meringue pie -- disappointing despite a well-executed meringue; crust crumbly; texture and taste didn't quite align, with a subtle metallic lemon note.
