Wonderful experience. Classic Cape, very relaxed setting, outdoor seating and quiet. Got the fisherman's feast and lobster roll. The fisherman's feast was so delicious, fried to perfection with a good amount of variety. Our server was really sweet and topped off our overall meal. read more

I'm only posting because of all the rave reviews, which I don't understand. This place isn't on par with other seafood restaurants in the area, although its prices certainly are. The clams ($35) were not fried with an expert hand and lobster rolls ($35) were a little dry. I mean, it's all edible but at these prices... The place is pleasant enough and the service friendly, although the server couldn't tell us what kind of oysters the raw bar was serving. Wellfleets, one assumes. Maybe it was a bad night. read more

Excellent experience all-around! Lovely wait staff, Elena and Nor. Food was unbelievably good! Stuffed quahog app and baked stuffed shrimp were perfect as were my partners tuna sashimi, oysters on the half shell and fried clams. Atmosphere was magical. Outdoors with a dusk approaching and diners enjoying dinner on the fairy-lit lawn. Perfect for outer cape visitors and just a 5 minute drive from Provincetown with parking. Ignorant Management Prioritizes Tables Without Children Over Tables With Children On two separate occasions this past week my family has dined/attempted to dine at Captains Choice. The first time was with a larger group (6+toddler). After enjoying a decent meal, we were talking and enjoying our time. We don't get to see each other often, so it's nice to catch up and share some laughs over a couple drinks. The host (maybe manager?) had other plans and continuously made awkward and unnecessary attempts to turn the table. Flash forward several days later.... My parents attempted to take our daughter (2 years old) to Captains Choice. They were originally told that it would be just a couple of minutes. As they patiently sat and waited, a larger party (all adults) showed up and were seated immediately with NO RESERVATION. Things got awkward when the host told my parents that it would now be 20 minutes for a table and while seating the larger party, told them that it is a simple "numbers game". The host/managers level of incompetence and professionalism is pathetic. Maybe she's just misunderstood that she seats tables at a fried fish shack, and not a Michelin Star rated restaurant. read more

The winery down the road has oddly early hours, so my boyfriend and I came to this restaurant to continue gluttonizing. We sat down on their outdoor patio, which was very comfortable, and helped by our server, who was helpful in describing the specials of the night. We each ordered special entrees - stuffed shrimp and Greek roasted halibut. They were excellent, and we were happy to have stumbled upon the restaurant. My only reason for docking a star is the fact that many mosquitos were flying around, outside and inside the toilet - hopefully the managers can address it soon! read more

One of my favorite things to order at a restaurant is fish tacos. Let's just say I've tried a lot and I can say these Cajun shrimp tacos are my all time favorite. Tried on a whim with the family, while looking for a quick bite after the museum/lighthouse. Pleasantly surprised. We had the lobster roll, fried calamari, veggie burger, shrimp, clam chowder and clam strips. All good! The environment has potential and would definitely upgrade the plastic baskets/forks etc. Prices and quality deserve better. Really nice outdoor seating with MORE potential! Took a star away because I witnessed the male cook (with bandana) eating fries out of someone's order before sending out...without gloves. Ew. Still, food was good and service was friendly. Stopped in on a Monday night and was able to get a table outside right away. They were busy with takeout orders and full outdoor seating, but everything was running very smoothly. Started with the fried calamari which was very light and fresh. We split the lobster and scallop tacos for dinner. The lobster was refreshing with a pineapple salsa, but the star was for sure the friend scallop tacos. 10/10 would eat everyday for the rest of the trip. We went for lobster rolls and were disappointed with service as salty as the Cape Cod air. We spent over $50 for lunch for 2 and they wanted to charge extra for more dressing. The smallish lobster rolls weren't anything special. The homemade chips looked good, but lacked flavor. The Cobb salad was good, but they don't give you enough dressing. They have Pepsi products at the fountain and bottled drinks in the cooler. Our food didn't come out in order. We waited a long time. There are better restaurants nearby and I would avoid this one. read more

We stopped in for takeout we'd ordered a half hour earlier, which we took down to the beach to devour: I had the delicous steak tacos, my son had fish tacos, my wife something fish and she says delicious. I was disappointed in this place. $50 for a meal for two and it really wasn't very tasty. My Caesar salad tasted like it was covered in mayonnaise, honestly I could barely eat it, and it's usually one of my favorite foods. The fried calamari was not a good texture, and it was a shame because I really only eat it a few times a year and it seemed like a disrespect to the squids life to have it be so poorly prepared. The servers were not very kind and seemed kind of annoyed we were there. I would not go back. If you go at night though, bring bug spray. We got eaten alive. read more
