READ BEFORE YOU BUY FROM CAR EXPO AUTO CENTER! I was super excited to purchase a 2011 sky blue Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited with only 50k miles on it from Car Expo Auto Center. I didn't mind that the sales guy stood on his phone the whole time and that honestly didn't seem to care about me until we were signing paperwork since, from what I was being told and shown, this was the car I wanted. I knew I was being overcharged, but I was willing to pay more for the reliability of a low miles car. Within the week the fall rains began and I discovered a significant water leak from the rear window, which was never disclosed at the time of sale. When I first reached out about the issue, they seemed willing to help, but after months of back-and-forth and ignored emails, they ultimately refused to take any responsibility for a pre-existing defect that should have been caught in a proper inspection. Here's what you need to know before buying from this dealership: They don't properly inspect vehicles before selling them. They ignore customer concerns after the sale. They will refuse to take responsibility for defects they should have disclosed. Save yourself the headache and take your business somewhere else. I am now filing complaints with the California DMV and Attorney General due to their unethical business practices. If you're considering buying from them, think twice. read more

I try not to pay too much attention to the reviews because I know it's based on each person's personal experience and that's why like to check for my self. Roberto was super nice, friendly and not pushy at all. He let us take our time checking out the cars without following us around. We test drove the car and my husband did an inspection to make sure it had no mechanical issues. Once we saw that everything looked we decided to move forward with the purchase. I just got a response to the negative comment that I left about the truck I bought for my daughter. It took six months for them to respond. There response is about 1% true. the truth is they said they would take a look at the truck that we only put 300 miles on before it broke down, but I would have to pay for the tow and they would not guarantee they would fix it for free. They were not willing to help me get the truck to their mechanic. I was told it was my problem and that what I got for buying a used truck. Do not buy from them guy. you will regret it. DO NOT BUY FROM CAR EXPO We Spent $22,000 on a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica with 84,000 miles. Check engine light came on the next day. Popped 4 more codes over the next 6 months. From the day after we bought it we have not been able to get the check engine light to turn off. Even with professional repairs done. Transmission bucked in low gears after 2 months. They did not disclose that it was an out of state vehicle. The Pacifica cannot be resmogged and will cost thousands more to repair. DO NOT BUY FROM CAR EXPO. If you plan to buy a car from them, securing your own finances beforehand might not be a good idea. My wife and I decided to come in on 2/8/20 and look at a rare 2016 Frontier pro-4x 6spd manual they've had on the lot for over 3 months. This was 1 of 35 available nationwide and 1 of 2 within 500 miles. Knowing how rare the truck was we secured our own financing and with a $30,000 budget we went shopping. We showed up and right away we're told they are a one price dealer and they do NOT negotiate. We knew this ahead of time based on the reviews. For $26,777 truck was $2564 over KBB and NADA but was within our budget and we didn't have any issues since it is the only one in the state The day we came they had just posted a tacoma and we decided to compare. After looking over the Tacoma we decided to test drive the Nissan since it was our first choice. Truck was AMAZING! Had a ton of torque down low, clutch felt like new, good suspension, bed extender, new falken A/T tires, N-fab side steps. The truck practically sold itself and was everything we wanted except for the color. It was black and knowing it would be a camper/offroader I was a little hesitant but we agreed we both like it, it's rare, hard to find and close to us. We get back and met with Robert. Told him we liked it but color wasn't our first choice. Nothing else to complain about. We then asked for an out the door price including tax, title, dealer fees etc in order to make sure it works with our budget. Without even trying he tells us around 10% give or take. Doesn't ask for zip to calculate tax and no attempt to give us an actual figure, we inform him we already have our funds secured we just need the numbers since tax alone brought the total to $29120. With the other fees it could be over $30,000. Again no attempt, he just tells us he also works with our lender. With no other option we left. Because we both look young and were asking about this rare truck my wife felt he didn't take us seriously and simply blew us off. Monday we call our lender and without an invoice or exact number they can't do anything but offered to help us look elsewhere. Expanding our search we found same truck, same year, slightly less mileage at autonation Nissan in Las Vegas. Called and gave us out the door price of $24667 with manufacturer warranty up to 100,000 miles. After verifying funds they agreed to ship the truck to Reno so we can look it over before signing since we knew it was exactly what we wanted. 1 week later we picked up the truck for over $6000 less out the door based on the give or take numbers Robert told us. We really liked that they let us test drive the truck on our own, they didn't try to sell us on anything and we didn't mind the slightly higher price since it is California after all. But we were completely blown off and not taken seriously given how effortless it was to get the car elsewhere. At the age of 50 years old I can say with confidence that in my opinion this is the worst place to buy a car I have ever been to. After we arrived to our "appointment" we noticed that the vehicle we inquired about had significant body damage. Deep scratches, loose bumper , bald miss matching tires.. All that was just what we saw at first sight. We voiced our disappointment and let Matt know he could have told us over the phone that the car was damaged and saved us a trip. Sales team can be more professional. It took 15 minutes to get help even though I had an appointment and was on time. The cars were piled up so close together that it was impossible to get good looks at them. When I finally saw a vehicle I liked it took another 20 minutes to find keys and maneuver it to the exit. We finally sat down to negotiate the terms of the sale. I found myself dealing with another person, at first I thought this was a good thing. As negotiations continue the pressure increased. Now I found myself with the manager of finance. I felt like the deal was beíng pushed through. Before I knew it they had me signing paperwork to run a credit check. Everything was moving too fast. The pressure was undescribable to add to that my credit app was submitted to 5 different banks (unbelievable). Result of the credit applications were negative. They told I could do the paperwork and leave it with them while they find a bank that will approve contract. Everything was pending on the accuracy of my application. At this point I was ready to walk away from the deal. They were not going to let me go. Another older man enter the conversation to assure me they would go to bat for me with a bank they have a good relationship with. So he convinced me to finish signing more documents and let them take a picture of a personal check for down payment. They'll call when everything was ready for me to take delivery of vehicle. On the first working day I called them to rescind the deal. Of course, according to them, it was out of they're hands. So I called Ally auto financial to tell to rescind the contract. At this point, they didn't have my contract on their website so Car Expo would be the only way to rescind this deal. Unwilling to do that the finance manager commenced to sweeten the deal by offering to lower the down payment, along with the APR and monthly payment. This was his way to stalling and having the paperwork get onto the Ally auto financial website. After that I could not get through to anyone at the dealership and am now stuck with a loan for a car in witch I never took possession of. Can't believe these idiots at car expo think they can get away these tactics. read more

I proceeded to look at the vehicle I went in for and everything checked out fine. Can tell parts were removed and weren't put back on correctly, but it would've been a simple fix for me. Said something like you have to run your credit before test driving. I've never heard of this before. It was equipped more then what I was looking for, but it kept grabbing me. So I reached out to see if they still had it. True to most other posts, the "Robert" wasn't the most friendly or inviting, but I still had to go see the truck. Then Bill called and I felt much more welcomed in seeing the truck. WOW ,,, talk about low budget vehicles for premium prices . Seen an add online , truck was listed as 10 out of 10 , paint 10 of 10 , every option and in excellent condition! So I show up , the truck has dents on both sides , driver and passenger side , the rear bumper had damage and scratches. I test drove the truck but was only able to take it a couple blocks because the A/C didn't work ,, so we just brought it back . Here is the best part when pulling in the people test driving a Honda next to me said that their A/C wasn't working either ! So the sales guy tells me ,,, if you buy it we will fix the A/C ,,, my question is why wouldn't you fix the A/C for any customer who would potentially buy the truck ! Then they tell me ,,, well we have a no haggle no hassle policy lol , Did some research and found out the truck has been on the lot for well over a month ,,, not surprised .. I feel sorry for anyone who ends up getting screwed buying one of these cars .. After reading these reviews I was a little bit apprehensive and I was preparing myself for the worst, I was mentally prepared to let the car I've been staring at on facebook market and craigslist go and had set up a plan B and C... But I liked this one a bit more because it was so oddly equipped. These are nothing short of business men, they sell cars for a profit like any other dealership and as I experienced, if you do your homework and have everything lined up the process is relatively easy. Like most dealerships that adopted Carmax's business model where used cars are non negotiable your not going to get a bargain, but you'll get the car in the center of its bluebook market value... They made it clear by saying it twice in my text inquiry that the price of their inventory is set, which was okay with me because I'm terrible at negotiating. I had financing already lined up through my credit union, I had my $10k down payment in cash and had quick access to get insurance on the car (which wasn't immediately necessary since I already had full coverage on another car)... So it was really only a matter of me liking the car and dismissing any extra's like gap coverage or an extended warranty. In my case, the gentleman I was working with wasn't wrong... That the wisest decision for a 2nd hand Mercedes (or any german car for that matter) is to have a warranty on it but me and my family are mechanically inclined and I have personal friends who work in shops so just about whatever this car will throw at me will get handled... He was pushing for the warranty but after a few "no" responses he got it. There wasn't much of a push for gap coverage since I was putting 50% of the cars value in a down payment. The quote they gave over the phone includes gap and the warranty which at first confused me because I had already looked up the cars taxes and registration cost on the DMV's website and used a car payment calculator to find out how much a month I was going to spend with my banks APR, but when it came to doing the paperwork my calculations were almost spot on after I dismissed the 2 add ons. The car was not perfect, the windshield had 3 really big chips... When I pointed it out before I took the car on a test drive Robert was saying "oh we can get those filled in" and as he poked the biggest one and felt how deep that chip went changed it to "we can replace the windshield"... The other sales man I was working with appeared genuinely disappointed as he said they have an employee that was supposed to have checked the car for stuff like that... He offered to knock $200 off the cost of the car or I bring it to their preferred shop to get the windshield replaced. I chose the latter and 8 days later when I was free it got a new windshield at no cost to me. I put about 500 miles on the car so far without any issues, by now if something were to go wrong it would not be their fault. To summarize, this is a business and if you have your game plan set up it will be a smooth process and they are honest when it comes to the rectifying issues with the car as long as they have it documented in the paperwork you sign. read more

We were told we could not have our mechanic look at it, only the mechanic they use, who I am sure would have told us everything is fine. Upon purchasing they told us the spare key is not programmed to the truck. The car salesman left out multiple things about the truck in order to make the sale. Said the recalls listed online to the VIN of the truck were not really recalls. Sleazy sales people stuff...I am definitely keeping it PG... I said I'm interested in looking at this Jeep you have posted I think its right there..and I pointed to it. He just turned around and walked away. I didn't think much of it but continued to the vehicle and started looking at it. He came out and unlocked it and said there you go. His demeanor was very off putting like I was bothering him. I quickly looked inside and asked if we could drive it. He said we are about to close and we normally only work by appt. I said oh..that's odd I thought you were open until 7PM. He said like I said we are about to close...if your buying tonight we can work something out..are you for sure buying tonight? I was shocked by the response and said...well if it drives nice and we like it yes we are willing to buy tonight. He then said in a rude tone...are you sure you are buying tonight. At that point I was getting very upset and just said...fine we'll take out business elsewhere. He said fine. I then turned and asked his name...he paused like he was thinking and said his name was Steve. I was pretty sure that wasn't his name. So we left. I called the next day and talked to the sales mgr...said his name was Matt. Told him my experience. As I suspected he was not aware of a Steve that worked for them. I gave him the scenario and he was apologetic but also said they work by appt. I did inform him that nowhere on their site or the Facebook marketplace add did it say anything about working by appt.
