Avoid them at all costs. When it got down to talking numbers I didn't even get to speak with the salesman because the manager hijacked the conversation and tried hitting me with the bait and switch. They'll buy modded vehicles purposely and will say they did the work themselves with no proof of invoices at all and will update their vehicles 7grand above sticker price. The manager told me I wouldn't find a nicer truck for the same price or cheaper and I told him bet, I got something way better.

Horrible experience, these people are not just dishonest thieves who favor contracts to harm the customer. The cars are not of good quality although they look very nice on the outside. I've had a car for a year that I bought from them and until now I've had to change the transmission, engine parts. The suspension was in really bad condition! Over five thousand dollars in arrangements out of my pocket, and I bought them an extended warranty. Nobody gave me a answer. The company behind the warranty is from them. Really everything about them is really sketchy. THE BAD REVIEWS DONT LIE! Stay away from this type of characters, the sellers hide so as not to show their faces and the manager or owner believes himself above the law. I wonder why the (BBB) Better Business Bureau has not taken action in this regard. This kind of people is what the Inmigration or ICE should focus on. Do yourself a favor and don't even try!

    "Theft patrol" extortion

Pretty much terrible experience the whole time from the beginning. Ryan was very unhelpful. I understand he was new (April 2025). He gave empty promises (enthusiastically so!) and misinformation, leading to a whole complete work day wasted and 6 hour unnecessary drive. I was paying for the truck in cash, so no financing, and was told by Ryan the SCAM "theft patrol" BS was mandatory but then told it was optional by someone else, AFTER I SIGNED THE CONTRACT. They charge $1900 for this wiring harness (plugged into your OBD), that's their theft patrol that they will try to MAKE you get. Completely unnecessary if you are buying the vehicle out the door. The truck didn't even have main headlights. I had to drive 3 hours in the dark with side marker lights. We won't even get into the white smoke blowing out of the exhaust! Other than to say, since I am a novice car person and first time car buyer, I was taken advantage of and told "[they] would fix it if it was a problem later on" which is a total lie, because in the contract it says "no verbal promises were binding". That contract is so incredibly small printed that it is impossible to know what you are signing, as they are rushing you through it. Later on I see there was a page in there titled "Contract Cancellation Option Agreement" & it says they are supposed to present this to us, as an option. This was never mentioned. In fact, when I asked if there was any such option, I was told no. READ ALL THE PAGES OF THE CONTRACT. This is the Lennox location. These people are shady. Totally ghetto. My first clue should have been when there was absolutely no gas in the truck. Then after I asked them to put some in, they barely put enough in for the low gas light to go off. Total freaking dirty operators. Anything they could get to scam you and come up on more money, they will. The out the door price will be significantly higher than the sticker price.. over $5000 in my case.

Made an appointment to see a vehicle, Was not told at all it wasn't here kind of ridiculous to drive an hour for zero reason

The employees that I encountered were all so nice and helpful to me and also nice to each other. There is a seven day buy back policy, which I took advantage of. I had reservations about the first car I financed, so returned it and chose another one. It is reasurring that the cars also come with a 12 month warranty at no charge. Lukas was the first employee I saw, and he was very polite, answered all my questions about various cars, and let me test drive whatever vehicle I requested. I also test drove vehicles with Art, who was very knowledgeable about the different car models. Juan Lomeli took over after I decided on a vehicle, addressing all questions and any concerns. He was always cheerful and made my experience a happy one with his extreme helpfulness. He made the buying process very pleasant and easy. And a huge Thank You to Andrey Chernikov, who ensures that the customer leaves satisfied. When I returned the first vehicle it is Andrey who addressed all my concerns, making me feel valued and making sure I found a vehicle I was completely happy with. He also worked out the financing and is a wizard with numbers, knowledgeable, experienced, wise and trustworthy. My car buying experience was a 10 out of 10, and I will be going back in the future.

We were then told by the sales staff that Hertz "does not work with" our credit union and that we would be required to use Hertz financing instead. We were told we could refinance later -- which would mean paying additional interest and fees that we had already avoided by securing our own financing. When we contacted Hertz Car Sales corporate through Facebook to confirm whether outside credit unions are allowed, we received a vague response saying our credit union "doesn't qualify," without any clear explanation of why or what criteria were used. This directly conflicts with what our credit union told us and mirrors what many other reviewers here have reported -- customers being pressured into dealer financing even when they already have funding in place. We were not asking for a discount, special pricing, or anything unusual -- only to use our own lender, which is standard practice at most dealerships. Refusing to accept outside financing effectively forces buyers into higher-cost loans and removes real choice from the transaction. We were ready to buy this car but ultimately walked away because we were not willing to take on unnecessary interest and fees just to complete the sale. We hope Hertz Car Sales corporate will review how they handle outside financing and credit unions, because this experience did not match the transparent, no-hassle process that Hertz advertises. Please put on your website in plan site that you limit outside financing

Purchasing the vehicle was an easy process. We offered full cash for the vehicle and asked if the price would be negotiable, there was little to no wiggle room, so we did half cash and half finance. Drove the vehicle home the same day. On Thanksgiving evening (on our way out) the transmission went out while on the freeway. Car was loaded with the entire family, had to get the car towed to the mechanic while Ubering to our destination. We spent a couple thousand dollars in fixing the transmission, and a few hundred bucks on the tow truck along with the uber on Thanksgiving night. We haven't driven the truck for even 1000 miles and already replaced the transmission, which gives this place a 1 star rating. We did not call when the transmission went out, didn't think we'd get any consideration since we were considered owners of the vehicle already. However, we called 1-week after they responded to our google review and until today, we have not received follow up. If a follow up is received, I will post an update. The entire family was friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process. My conclusion on this experience: I purchased a used vehicle at Hawthorne Motors Express and the transmission went out 3 months after owning it. *we are proud owners of 2 previously owned vehicles, which were purchased from Enterprise Car Sales. I know where I'll be going for my next car.

On top of that, the price we got was an absolute steal (4-5k LOWER than the KBB price). Big Thank You to Christian, James, and their GM for making this happen. This experience really changed the way I view car buying - I've learned that if you apply due diligence at every step of the sales process you can avoid a lot of the negative experiences that others have had. Prior to coming to LAX CDJR we had been to other dealers with cash in-hand, ready to buy and they all let us down one way or another so we walked away. When we came across a car we were interested in at LAX CDJR Christian was quick to respond to every request we made. We asked for a picture of the paint quality, he sent us a full 360 video. We asked for an OTD cash quote and he sent it to us within an hour and there were NO hidden fees or add-ons. Finally I asked if I can send a mechanic over there for a pre-purchase inspection (shout out to POMCAR) and Christian was more than accommodating, even offering to let us to take the car off the lot. Everything had gone so smoothly that I was actually expecting the inspection to come back with some major repairs needed, but nope. The 10 page report came back and the car was nearly flawless except for a few cosmetic issues. So we pulled the trigger. Of course no car buying experience is complete without the finance person screwing you over - but not here! We worked with James and he recognized that it was my son's first time buying a car so he immediately put him at ease cracking jokes and walking him through the process. He knew my son was only working part time so he didn't try to push other services on him that he knew he couldn't afford. When all was said and done my son had the biggest smile on his face and we couldn't be more grateful. In the last 20+ years I've purchased cars from Land Rover, BMW, Tesla, Porsche, Mercedes, etc and LAX CDJR was one of the easiest car buying experiences I've had.

That call never came. After several attempts to follow up, I finally got through--only to be told the technician was on lunch and the car still wasn't ready. By 4 PM, it was still in the shop. At that point, I was told the delay was because my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica was "old." A four-year-old car is far from old in my opinion, and if that was going to be an issue, it should've been communicated upfront--especially since the car has been serviced there before. They did end up offering me a rental car, but the way it was handled didn't sit right. I was told if I didn't return it with a full tank, I'd be charged $150--despite the fact there's literally a gas station across the street. It felt like unnecessary pressure on top of an already frustrating situation. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because they at least provided a rental. If you decide to bring your car here, I'd suggest managing your expectations, staying on top of the communication yourself, and being prepared to micromanage the process--because unfortunately, that's how you'll have to be treated to get anything done.

I was upfront about my situation: low credit score, past repo, no large deposit, a trade-in that wasn't in great condition, and negative equity. Even after explaining all of that, I was repeatedly told to come in and that it shouldn't be a problem. I asked multiple times because I didn't want to waste anyone's time. When I arrived, I worked with a sales agent who was honestly great. He was respectful and genuinely seemed to want to help. On Day 1, we spent hours trying different vehicles and lenders but weren't successful. I was told I may need a larger down payment (around $5,000) or a co-signer. I understood and left. The next day, I received a call and was told to come back because a woman named Natasha might be able to help. I was told she was one of the few people who could work directly with banks to try to get approvals. She seemed kind and said she would do her best. Later that night, after following up, I was told they couldn't make anything work--but that Natasha suggested I look at an entry-level vehicle like a Sentra or Chevy Malibu. I agreed. On May 22nd, I was told to come back at 1 PM because there was still a chance. After waiting, the agent told me I'd likely be placed into an entry-level vehicle and that there was a good possibility I'd leave with something. They asked about my down payment, and I explained I had $1,000 now and could provide more in two weeks. Then my file was handed to another employee and suddenly I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do. At that point I was confused. I had spent three days there, driven back and forth, and had repeatedly been encouraged to return. I politely asked if I could speak with Natasha just to understand what changed. Instead, I was directed to speak with the employee who denied it. I asked respectfully why the situation changed. He explained it was because of my negative equity and amount owed, but when I referenced information I believed had been given earlier, the conversation shifted into questioning where I got my information from instead of explaining the change. The conversation became uncomfortable, and at one point I was told to get off the phone with my partner, who had been involved in helping with the down payment. I declined, thanked Natasha, and left. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but I did not deserve that interaction after communicating respectfully and giving three days of my time. Ironically, after leaving, I was approved elsewhere with $1,000 down on a brand new 2026 Nissan. I do want to say again that the sales agent I worked with was genuinely great and encouraged me not to give up. My issue is not with him--it's with the changing expectations and communication. I hope in the future you guys treat people better. Life is already hard for people we are all trying to get better in life. Your in a business where your going to get people trying to get in better things, be kind. Lose the attitude and stop the misleading info. Also, stop having people in New York texting your clients telling them false info. Thanks! See you never again!
