Saw the sign for Sonoran hot dogs so we had to try it. This is a cute, very clean restaurant. It was the middle of the afternoon and we were the only customers there. This spot is a brand new small business that is close by my home. The ladies working were so sweet and the place is decorated with a little IG wall for cute pics. We have tried their regular elote, hot Cheetos elote, rice and carne asada torta. Everything has been so fresh and the carne asada was good quality meat with no fat or gristle. The elote was so crisp and sweet. I have no complaints on any of the food we have tried a few times now and it's been consistently good. Please support this local small business. The service and ambiance were wonderful! We ordered chips+guac, birria and carne asada tacos, rice+beans, large horchata, and mandarin jarrito. Price came out to around $30. I had to give 4/5 stars because the birria and consomme lacked flavor, the birria had a few fatty chunks in it, the rice was a bit mushy, and the chips were a bit stale. Regardless of these small things, we still enjoyed everything and we will DEFINITELY come back for the guacamole (it was perfect) and we want to try the elotes and chilaquiles! read more

I ordered carne asada fries to go and nothing had flavor but the onion and cilantro. The fries were soggy not crispy at all I asked for avocado and even tho they did provide they gave me 3 little pieces. I definitely wasted time and money goimg/trying out there food. Food was mid. I had the birria torta, the Sonoran hotdog and the Jamaica. The torta was good even though the birria was really dry and chewy. The Sonoran hot dog was not that great really basic and the Jamaica drink tasted powdered nothing fresh about it. What an AMAZING little hidden GEM!!!! I was at the DollarTree and heard Mexican Christmas music and found this amazing little place with a sign for Tamales and I was like, SAY LESS!!!! JUST WOW!!! They were packed with flavorful meat, not soggy, not spicy and perfectly prepared like somebody's damn 98 yr old Abuela was in the making them!!! It was late so they only had Queso and Carnitas Rojo and when I tell yall I'm hard on Mexican food bckz I'm from LA and these were the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN ARIZONA.....PLEEEASE BELIEVE IT!!! I walked in and it was clean, smelled amazing and the kind woman greeted me with a cheerful HOLA immediately! I couldn't believe this place was empty, but ordered 2 Tamales. 9/10 for me, only Bckz they were not the best EVER but I will be coming back to support this amazing small business weekly and hope that yall do too!! read more

Blink and you will pass up this little joya (jewel). Tucked away in a shopping center, this cozy little Mexican restaurant does not disappoint! I had a carne asada torta my first visit and it was amazing!!! Soft warm bread, well seasoned meat and fresh ingredients. Service was great too; polite, informative and quick! I've come back for a third time and although I finally remembered to rate them, my hunger got the best of me, so no food pics. I keep meaning to try something different, but their tortas are so good! They have a saying on their wall; "La Vida Es Rica" (life is delicious) and if you eat here, I wholeheartedly agree!! read more

We ordered 2 carne asada burritos, under 11.00 each. Two carne asada tacos and one birria taco. 3.00 each which is around the normal price for most places. Food was made very quickly. I assume it's a new restaurant. So happy to support a new business. The tacos were very tasty. The red sauce was definitely hot! The green not so much but both were good. The burritos were definitely a good size. Could have easily shared one. We didn't but could have. Negatives: Getting into the area was a bit difficult, for some reason the parking lot was completely blocked off. We had to go all the way around the whole plaza to get in. The burritos tasted ok, we went specifically for the burritos. Something was lacking. Not sure what it was. The red and green sauce definitely helped. This was my experience. I can only speak for my experience. Will we try this place again, absolutely. Please make sure to go in and support local business. These ladies were very nice and eager to help with any questions. I only rated 4 stars as the burritos were missing something. Can't put my finger on it. I will definitely try the burrito again and possibly adjust this review. Found this place through Yelp. Went for takeout. The ambiance is good. Brand new restaurant in a strip mall. Service was friendly but they did forget my side orders of beans and rice, but no big deal. I caught it before I left the restaurant. The tortas are good but could have a bit more meat IMHO. The freshly made and toasted telera bread was a nice touch. I think they may bake their own bread, but it was very fresh and tasty. The beans were not bad but not quite the flavor of refried beans that I am used to. The rice was overcooked but had good flavor. I can't wait to go back and try the elotes and chilaquiles. read more

I hate to say but food was just "eh", not really worth the price. Nothing popped, everything fell short. It kinda felt canned, red sauce, menudo, meats even the beans. It could have been an off day, I have those days. Flavor pop is what was needed. Its like no heart was put into it. That being said, this doesn't mean I would throw in the towel on this place. Saw this on another site and thought I'd give them a try as it's really close to my home. I ordered the chicharrone burrito, but it's not a small/normal size--- it's HUGE!! I got it w/everything in it and when I got home it really was hard to handle. My only take away from this is the chicharron was soggy... so I'm guessing it's in its sauce all the time?
