We made our reservation a few days ago for 4 people at 12:30 pm (lunch). We got there at exactly the exact time and the "maitre 'd" looked at my friend and said that he wasnt allowed in because he was wearing shorts. First you should have told us that when we made the reservation, not when we got there. Second, this is Miami, not Beverly Hills. People walk around in shorts everywhere and I have never been told (specially at lunch time) that I couldn't dine because of my attire. Terrible customer service. read more

Piero was AMAZING! so attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun. He made the whole experience feel seamless and really special, and gave great recommendations that we loved. My fiancé and I went to Carbone Vino for the first time for our anniversary dinner and we could not have had a better experience. Service: 100000/10. Chris and Julio were taking care of us during dinner. From the minute we sat down, we immediately were having a blast. They were both so attentive, helpful, lively and genuinely great people. They went above and beyond to make us feel special and we definitely felt like we chose the right place to celebrate a special occasion. I don't remember the last time we've experienced service like we did with the two of them. Food: Worth the hype! We shared the caesar salad, spicy rigatoni, tortellini tartufo nero and 12 oz. ribeye. We were STUFFED and happy. Every single item was incredible! My favorites were the caesar salad, tortellini and ribeye. Drinks: We shared a bottle of valpolicella which the sommelier helped us pick out and it was just what we wanted for dinner. At the end, we had an espresso martini (probably one of the best I've ever had) and the cafe reposado. Both were strong enough and tasted incredible! Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The atmosphere is nice and dim and the music isn't load at all so you can hold a conversation. The service was great but the menus were Insanely large. We had a good laugh and moved on to the ordering. They said it's family style, I'm not sure I'd agree with that. The Cesar salad was definitely family style but the other pieces I think are good for 2 people. My husband and I split octopus, filet with mushroom sauce, and the pumpkin agnolotti. Holy cannoli was that all amazing. My friend ordered the meatballs and other pastas they had on the menu. No one had a bad meal. We were all raving about how well done it all was. The grand finally was the cannoli sundae and it did not disappoint. I expected vanilla ice cream but it was cannoli filling ice cream. You tasted the ricotta and the orange peel. Very well done. The table side ceaser salad is now my all time fav! Sooo good, the four of us shared all of the dishes. I absolutely love the aesthetics inside from the burgundy red walls to dim lighting to gold accents. The service was excellent!! One of the runners had recommended to mix the Zeppoles with the Cannoli Sundae and it was magnificent!!!! Definitely recommend getting both for dessert. I recently dined at Carbone Vino, and I can confidently say that my experience was exceptional. The service was superior, with attentive staff who truly enhanced our dining experience. Probably the most awaited opening of the year in Coconut Grove. This restaurant did not disappoint. About 80% of the menu is similar to the Carbone in Miami Beach. All the food was incredible. Went to carbone last night and it was the best restaurant decision I'd made in a while. I went into the night thinking there was too much hype around carbone but hoping that it would not be overrated. It was absolutely and completely delicious. Everything I ate exceeded my expectations! We went to carbone with the purpose of tasting what the restaurant is "known" for: the spicy rigatoni and the Cesar salad. It was 4 of us girls and the size of the salad was more than enough. It was packed with flavor and Parmesan cheese! The croutons were so tasty and flaky, you could literally taste the butter they're baked with. They prepare the salad right in front of you and It comes with anchovies that you can either include in the salad or have on the side. The spicy rigatoni at carbone is by far the best spicy rigatoni I've ever had. There was something in the dish that gave it such a sweet taste (could have been the onions or the tomato) but it was delicious. They gave us complimentary focaccia bread and mortadella with an Olive oil packed with pickled vegetables. Great addition to the grove area. Think of a 1960s italian restaurant; dark and intimate. The service is impeccable. Everyone is attentive to your needs, never needing to flag down someone for something. Drinks on point. We started off with the caviar toast - pricey and overrated. I love caviar but the toast really didn't have too much going for it. We had mozzarella and peppers for another starter, which was delicious! Highly recommend! We then ordered a Cesar salad, which is prepped at the table - was OK, something else that's overrated. We had spicy rigatoni, which the pasta was hard and overcooked. This is the second time I eat at this " food group " and I'm offended by the water scam they have going on. 1st time I was at contessa and this time at this restaurant. Contessa they charged for 6 liters of water when we all asked for tap water my 80 plus year old mom and husband barely drank any!. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and made a reservation for a large party 20 days in advance. We confirmed the reservation in advance leading up to the event. This is something we do regularly since we have a large friend group that always has something to celebrate. When we arrived, they could not accommodate the entire party at one table. They had half of the party seated in a different section. The staff did not think there was a problem with half the party being seating in two different sections. We asked to speak to the manager about the situation, who was not very attentive. She was actually quite rude but she offered to "help"us by putting us in a private room with a minimum spending of $4500. At that point, I wanted to leave but didn't want to ruin the celebration. Upon making the reservation all of this should have been disclosed so that we could have all the information to make a properly informed decision. Many restaurants in Miami have private rooms and do not have a minimum spending amount for use of the room. As were already there, we reluctantly agreed to move over to the private room. We had a great server. He was very knowledgeable on the menu, friendly, and lots of fun. The house sommelier came for each course to recommend wine parings which were excellent. We had our own selection of music in the room as well. It was like a private party. The food was good but overpriced. The portion sizes were good. We ordered the meatballs (3), shrimp cocktail (5 large) , house salad ( enough for 2 or 3 people) a filet with mushroom sauce (sides a la carte) with potatoes, and angel hair pasta with lobster. Others in my party enjoyed the oysters, porterhouse steak, Caesar salad prepared table side, and other pasta dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We also ordered a variety of handcrafted cocktails which everyone enjoyed. We had a chocolate cake for dessert, while others enjoyed gelato and cheesecake. Again all were to our liking. They charge everyone $9 for water, still or sparkling. No option to opt of that. Overall we made the best out of our experience but I will not be returning. I do not appreciate the pretentiousness of the manager. When I make a reservation for a large party where I am paying 20% mandatory service fee , I expect to have excellent service from beginning to end. We exceeded her $4500 minimum which we felt she set to encourage us to take our party elsewhere. Had she had a different attitude and given us excellent service my review would have been very different in spite of the high prices. I would have been urging everyone to visit. read more

Where do I even start! Carbone Vino definitely met my expectations. We had dinner reservations at 5:30 pm and waited at the bar until our last party showed up. Instantly we hit it off with Alex, the bartender and he heard we were celebrating a birthday so he fixed up a drink called the Eastside for us, absolutely amazing, freshening and strong. We finally got to our table and the aesthetics of this place was so 1920s Italian style. We got greeted by Julio, who was outstanding the rest of the night! We had to order our whole order all at once, but the food comes out in a timely fashion. They first serve you bread, bologna, and a pickled vegetable. We then started with the Antipasti (Calabrian Calamari, Mozzarella & Peppers, and Carpaccio Piemontese). All a must. The calamari was perfectly breaded with a butter/red wine sauce that was so unique. We then got the Caesar Alla ZZ which is a must! They make it table side and Julio put on a show which made the experience. And for the Macadoni we ordered the Pumpkin Agnolotti and Tortellini Tartufo Nero (next time will get the Spicy Rigatoni) and for dessert we got the Cannoli Sundae, which they brought a candle for us to sing happy birthday. Major Food Group restaurants are like Cessnas. They feel nice but a bit mass-produced, lacking the elegance of the Falcons and the luxury of a Gulfstream. Never regret flying them though, do you? Carbone Vino fits that bill. It is a great addition to the Grove. You can count on them for excellent food, a charming waiter who wants you to over order but doesn't push too hard, and a lovely scene to immerse yourself in. I'm glad they came to town. I wanted to give it 3.5 but couldn't figure out how. The good, way better than the south beach location. The server was very friendly and offered a way for the whole party to have their own share of the spicy rigatoni. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. We ordered several appetizers and pastas to share. Standouts were the tuna crudo and the tortellini with truffle. The not so great, the service feels rushed. We have to place the entire order at the start. They clear plates with no explanation even as we weren't through the bread coarse. The menus were wet and one of the plates was dirty. Ambiance- what a treat to walk into a spot in Coconut Grove and feel like you are in SoHo NYC. I loved every minute of being there and loved being surprised by how fabulous the space was- I did not expect a scene like that in the Grove. A found it to be a very French, Moulin Rouge vibe. Service- nothing short of excellent- very well staffed. Food- Top Notch- the Pickled Vegetables offered to all guests, although too hot for me, were good. The Arugula Salad with Proscuttio - OMG INCREDIBLE- I crave it- served with a Meatball on the side that was a little chunky for me - I prefer my Meatballs with a smooth texture. The Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - I could have that everyday of my life- wonderful, perfect, ate every morsel on the plate. The Jumbo Shrimp Fra Diavolo was excellent despite the fact I was full at that point. The Dessert closed out the evening with a bang- the Cannoli Sundae- dies and went to heaven- I will order it again if back there - it was the perfect amount of sweet and the texture of the housemade Cannoli Soft Serve Gelato mixed with the crispy Cannoli cookie was to die for. Been here 5 times. This most recent time was not good. It's sadly declined to that low-end Miami level and this place used to be special. It's clear management doesn't have a handle on professional standards. Service was bad/missing/incompetent. No clue on clearing plates, left us without drinks for most of the meal, disappeared when we were wanting to order more items, didn't tell us about the specials, forgot an item, etc. Ive had the Caesar salad at least 10 times at various Carbone locations and the recent one was not good. Maybe we just had a very bad witness who made the salad and ran the service but it wasn't the only food item that missed the mark. That's never happened before so this was just really a surprise to see such a noticeable decline :( At one point at the end of the night it seems the staff started playing their own music while customers were still there. It was stressful to have to manage the night and ask for things and watch the waitstaff not know the basics. We tried to flag people down and were stared at by waitstaff who I guess weren't assigned to our table so they ignored us. It's as if they used to have a legit manager from NYC and suddenly they now have a manager without a clue. Hard to justify going back. Some items were okay and the wine was good. read more
