Beautiful place! We came here for dinner a few weekends ago. The restaurant is so nicely designed and would be great for a date night. Service was good. We had the fresh bread as an app that came with a citrus infused butter. I thought it was delicious and unique. For my entree, I ordered the chicken and it did not disappoint! The chicken was so delicious -- cooked perfectly with a side of carrots and roasted poblano risotto. There was a slight spiciness to the dish as a whole and it all the flavors went so well together. LOL Just kidding it's got my name in it, but believe it's representative or inspired by the citrus orange; navel orange, or red-fleshed navel orange in theory. Gorgeous location inside and out which is in the heart of the bustling culinary scene in Downtown Phoenix. My boys brought me here for my birthday and what an absolute treat this place was. Menu is not too extensive which is nice. Note- known for their specializations in celebrating (citrus) plus local indigenous & seasonal ingredients through native American & Sonoran influenced cuisine along with beautifully created hand crafted cocktails this will surely captivate your tastebuds. We started our dinner off with a couple of cocktails and a freshly prepared baja shrimp ceviche, plus pork tenderloin short ribs. Both were delicious. Main meals ordered were the Carcara Angus Burgers which is served on a Brioche bun topped with pepper jack cheese, tomato, pickled red onions, arugula and paprika aioli. Then served with ancho chile dusted petite golden potatoes. Great, flavorful burger yet would have preferred fries as the side. Now, let's get in to dessert?! Presented with a gorgeous customized white chocolate birthday petite treat. Then we added a Smore's Brulee made of dark chocolate custard, prickly pear, marshmallow, graham crumble and it is finished with a decorative sun dried blood orange slice dipped in chocolate. I'm a huge Brûlée fan and this was super unique and delightfully Devine. Then as not to think things were over, they brought out a complementary nestle of light orange colored cotton candy. I've never been a big fan of cotton candy until this pleasant encounter. It's a blood orange flavor and it was incredibly lovely. What a way to complete our experience. I came here with a group of 8. Our waiter was very kind but kept forgetting to bring drinks we ordered and never gave us more waters. I ordered the short rib with succotash as the side. The short rib was very tender but did not taste good, it was too bitter, I could still clearly taste the wine that I guess they cooked it in? And the succotash didn't really taste like anything. We booked 8 people for a pre-theater dinner and selected from across the menu. High marks for all, especially the risotto, the elk loin (no, I'm not kidding), and the burger. I've been wanting to check this place out since they reinvented themselves as Carcara. It's a wonderful place to go if you want to make a great impression on the atmosphere. It's so beautiful and I love that the dining room is so elegant and sophisticated. Unfortunately the food doesn't quite meet the level of decor yet. I liked the pork chop alright but not quite worth the price. Also, my drink was very bitter-forward. I got the Steer and I would not get it again. I love old fashioneds and manhattans, but this was a little too much. So bitter. Also the staff just seemed a little distant and nonchalant. Maybe it's because it's a hotel situs. Came here for a birthday dinner for a friend, and we loved our experience! This restaurant is located in the lobby of Sheraton (Downtown Phoenix). There's also an outside patio area that opens onto the street. For parking, we went with street parking nearby (there were plenty of spots on a Friday night for us). First of all, the service was amazing! Everyone made sure we had what we needed, and all the servers were very friendly with our large group. They did forget to put in one of my friend's orders, but the servers were very apologetic about it (I think four different people came up to apologize...). The interior is beautiful!! The tree inside was SO pretty, very aesthetic if that is what you like. I got the harvest bowl ($24) (vegan), which tasted very healthy (which it is lol). Can add protein if you'd like. A lot of my friends got the angus burger which tasted really good actually! And it's the cheapest item haha. I got the chocolate martini (which is part of the dessert menu), which was decent - some of my friends liked it more than I did. Brunch goals !!!! Every month a group of friends find somewhere we have not eaten before and have brunch. Carcara was suggestion by an influencer we follow and she did not disappoint us in this spot. Carcara- (probably named after the Cara Cara oranges) is a great happy hour spot. While visiting Phoenix, this quickly became our regular stomping ground where we consumed copious amounts of alcohol, and guacamole loaded molcajetes. Their patio is easily the most captivating, with their lush faux orange trees and bamboo pendant lights adorning the ceiling. At one point I had to touch the fruit hanging from the ceiling to see if it's real! I blame it on their handcrafted Devil's bridge drink - A delicious rum based drink with fruit juices syrup and lemon. The music is great, the patio seating is comfortable with fire pits and fireplaces and there's plenty of seating even on a crowded Friday night. There are private dining rooms and there's a huge oak tree in the center of it all. The food is decent, nothing stands out. They serve cotton candy at the end of your dinner! About two weeks ago I was still craving the Moody filet and cheesecake with the blackberry mocktail and finally got my fix! I was denied about two weeks prior, which was a bummer since I had my little heart set and was the whole reason I went for a walk but tried again. I was so happy they let me sit quietly outside and enjoy the afternoon with tasty (overpriced) dinner and dessert. I arrived at the last thirty minutes of happy hour so I just waited, reading my book until the kitchen was fully active. My waiter was nice too. I ordered the blackberry mocktail and sipped it. I didn't realize it was fake liquor and I tasted it more this time so I liked it less this time but I appreciate the idea. I wish it were just juice since even fake alcohol tastes gross. I'm not a drinker. The meal was delightful. The moody filet was cooked perfectly. The sides were scrumptious too. It was the ideal portion although price is nuts. The cheesecake is so good I ordered another one to go but sadly the mango one had no flavor. Neither during dinner. The flavor was definitely in the strawberry and orange though. Mouth watering and I did a happy dance every time it touched my tongue. Anyway, I'd go back if I'm allowed to sit outside like I did. I wish I could say that my eggs Benedict were worth the wait but they weren't. 1 of 2 eggs was poached and the other one was soft boiled. The meal was bland and I was told it came with potatoes instead of asparagus. Overall when you come here for a meal you're really paying for the ambiance (and fruit flies) rather than a good meal. As the restaurant was closing, and our party was heading out, we were discussing if we should walk around the area or head home and one of the waiters/bartenders said "it's better to go home" or "it's time to go home" in a rude tone and we weren't even talking to him. We turned around to look at him to see if maybe he was joking but he had a straight face and turned around to face the register. We spent $700 here and we tipped well. We were polite to our waitress so I don't understand why the comment. If they wanted us to leave, they could have politely come up to our table and let us know they were closing soon but there were so many other tables with people. Our waiter I believe was deaf and despite maybe some communication issues, he was extremely funny and treated our birthday girl for this event very well. My issue lies with the cooks unfortunately and the price of this restaurant. It took more than 40 minutes for my food to come out after all my friend's food had so 1hr+ in total. Our food was also already cold and honestly it was not good. The vinegar strawberries were a surprise and did not pair well with the syrup and chicken. Although the chicken was good, I was disappointed that there was no interesting sauce to pour on top of my food. It was just syrup and my total ended up being around $30 just for this. I ordered the peach cobbler which was beautiful, but tasted ok, just your typical peach cobbler, not really worth the price tag. I was shocked to find a vegan option that was also gluten-free that I could add chicken to as I have a cows milk allergy pasta was outstanding, and the cashew cream sauce was amazing definitely enough food that's for sure. My counterparts had the fillet, the trout, and the shrimp and grits, and we're all very pleased so we each had a little piece of the menu. The portion sizes are generous, and the customer service is outstanding. This is probably one of the best hotel restaurants that I've been in in quite a while, and it was so fresh.
