This is the 3rd Mazda automobile we have in our family. I purchased my first 2 from a dealership that I will not mention. The experience coming to Cardinale Mazda in Corona was unlike any other experience I've ever had when purchasing a car. They truly run this business with a customer first mentality. I attempted to purchase our son a car from 2 other Mazda dealerships before stumbling onto Cardinale Mazda in Corona off the 91 Fwy. The first 2 dealerships treated the cars like a commodity they were not willing to part with. One of the two dealerships I first went to wouldn't even allow us a test drive, because they didn't want to put miles on a brand new car that was limited in availability! All I can say is that Tony & Paulina made me and my wife feel completely at home. This felt like a big family running a business. We probably talked for about 15 minutes before the discussion of a car really even came up. The managers and sales-team all seem to work side by side to make things happen. Not the typical bouncing back and forth behind closed doors that make you feel disconnected and uncomfortable. I've purchased several luxury cars from Mercedes & Lexus and must say that they could learn something from this particular dealership. The cars and pricing are the same everywhere you go, but the people working the dealership are the ones that make a difference. I would like to congratulate Mazda for the training and manner in which this dealership does business, but unfortunately, I can't do that. If you're planning on buying a car, please save yourself some time and go to any other Mazda dealer. I wasted four hours trying to get a car here. First, they try to charge almost $2000 for a protection plan that you have no choice but to take because all of their cars are already equipped with it. So ridiculous. They finally agreed to lower the amount to about $990, which again, still ridiculous because we didn't want it. I then specifically asked for the car in blue. They said they didn't have it, but that it wouldn't be a problem to get one that day. We believed them and went inside to discuss the price. Finally, we came to an agreement and they said they would have the car it would just take a few minutes for them to get a hold of another dealer. The most upsetting part was the fact that they ran my credit knowing that they didn't have the vehicle I wanted. When I mentioned that I wish they would've waited until they had the car to do that, Lavel, the salesman, assured me that the he was 99.9% sure they would get the car and not to worry. Doesn't change the fact that now there's an additional hard inquiry on my credit report. After about an hour of waiting, the manager and Lavel, walked over and informed us they still couldn't get a hold of any dealerships and that I would have to wait a few days. This was the most unprofessional way to handle this. And a waste of 4 hours, especially because my dad, mom and 15 yr old brother waited the entire time for me. It was very upsetting and we left extremely disappointed. If you're looking for great customer service, you're not going to get it here. On top of it all, I received a call from Lavel today stating he could get the car. I told him I already purchased the vehicle and that I've wasted enough time and hung up. He then sent me a text message saying "wow". How much more unprofessional and rude can someone get? After leaving this dealership, we went straight to Puente Hills and found the exact car and color I wanted. They even had a better offer and most importantly, exceptional customer service. Don't trust their word for it! They bait and switch and hope you won't notice. Bought a new car here, but it was a long stressful process. First off, Pauline told my husband that if he put down $500 she would match it, so $1,000 down. My husband told Pauline that he would purchase the car (CX-5) if he got a monthly payment at a certain amount with the $500 down from his part. It was a deal, and she showed us the paper stating the monthly payments would be for what we agreed on. Then my husband had a question and she came back to the desk to clarify and she also told us that she added the metallic gray color for free (which is the one we told her we wanted) and we thanked her. When it came time to sign the papers, we were told our monthly payment and it was not the certain amount we had agreed on with Pauline. They told us that it was because it depended on the tax % for the zip code and that the one initially used was a different one and thats why the monthly bill was lower. I get that, but if we had agreed with Pauline for our monthly bill to be xxx, then thats the amount it needed to show when we signed the final purchase papers; if they put a different zip code with different sales tax that raised the payment well then they needed to fix the price so that the payment will come out to xxx, because that is what we agreed on!! They made it seem like we were in the wrong and it was very frustrating. They did end up fixing this, but after arguing back and forth. In addition, when I initially inquired about the car, I had inquired about one that was a basic color, but same model, trim and package as the one I ended up buying. So when we were at the dealer i told Pauline I actually wanted the Metallic gray one, and she said she gave it to us free, without paying the extra $300. Tell me why later on I noticed the price they gave us on the car before taxes and fees was $300 more than the price we were given through e-mail (for the same car, trim, package, but with a basic color). Because they charged us the metallic grey color! When I told Eric, the manager, he told us that we were getting a $500 rebate that we didnt qualify for and he didnt know why it was included so basically to suck it up because we were already getting a discount. What I didnt realize until after we got out the dealer with the new car, was that the $500 "rebate" was actually the $500 that Pauline said she was going to match if my husband put $500 down payment. My brain was fried from them trying to confuse us so I didnt realize this until after, but why do they offer or make a deal with us and then not commit to it?! Otherwise I would have left without the car if they werent going to do what they said. They agreed on xxx monthly payment, $500 match on down payment, and the upgrade to metallic gray for free, but they gave us a hard time and ended up not giving us the gray for free.I left that place with a sour feeling in my mouth. I never leave reviews but this dealership really rubbed me the wrong way. if I had the chance to go back in time and AVOID buying a car from them I would. Once you purchase a car from them and need them to uphold their end of their deal, they never want to call you back (as promised) or they take their sweet time. I purchased a car which had quite a few scratches on it. I was told they have a PROFESSIONAL who could make it look like brand new. Hey thanks, the scratches are gone now my hatch is all dented, and double thanks for the after spray all on my tail lights and windows. AMATEUR work. This is a great dealership to buy your car at. My husband and I had to buy a car unexpectedly and ended up at CardinalWay Mazda a blessing in disguise. We had been to various dealerships and had talked to managers and sales people all day. This dealership really impressed us especially when it came to their customer service and the attention we recieved dispite being one of their last customers. I would really like to aknowledge Jesus and the manager that took the time to sit down and talk to us to find out exactly what we wanted in a car. The manager found the exact car we we were looking for, the model we wanted in the color we wanted and most importantly with all the safety features we were looking for. Drove up from I drove up from San Diego to buy a car here at the dealership, it was a used car and the price was $14,777 online and when I got there they had added $995 of aftermarkets that they added to the vehicle. I did not want to pay for the aftermarkets nor did I want them. They also added a category called "other" that was $250 for a cancellation option they must charge. I tried to negotiate to remove those items but they refused to and I purchase the car anyways. I had the sales associate named Phil drop off my vehicle I purchased down to San Diego. He drove down and I revived the vehicle and the next day I reloaded they never put the temporary registration in the window. Phil forgot to give me my temporary registration in order for me to drive my vehicle I just bought. I then reached out to the sales associate and he has not been replying nor answering my phone calls. This dealership will make you hate buying a car even more. Update: the GM never emailed me back in regards if my experience and my nightmare still hasn't ended with this car. I literally wish I never bought the car and just returned it back to them like I paid an extra $150 fOr. I have yet to hear back from anyone at the dealership and have yet to receive my registration tags. The plates are expired and dont have current tags. Unbelievable experience here and the worst ever. Another update; I've been calling and calling to get a hold of someone in the business department to request a copy of documents km my contract and keep getting hooked up on. Literally the worst service I've ever experienced in my life, I see why certain people get so frustrated and end up going back to these places and want to do stuff to the store or employee because of their disregard for customers. I took car to Cardinale for service, as I have done many times, over a period of almost three years. I have never had a problem, until now. My car was supposedly washed before being returned to me, yet it still had all of the same dust and dirt on it. It literally looking like someone had applied wax, around the dirt, so that the car was shiny, but still dirty. Streaks of cleaner or wax were left everywhere. The worst part is that there were also three new scratches on my car, right near some of the wax or cleaner that was left. I will never bring my car here for service again! read more

I've owned several Mazda automobiles and as such have been a frequent flyer at various Mazda dealerships. Not because the product they produce is defective but simply for regular maintenance. First of all, my service advisor Chris Lopez couldn't have been more welcoming, efficient, or professional. The atmosphere in the showroom and waiting areas was very zen and the sales staff members were also welcoming but not in the typical creepy stalker sales person way. Everyone spoke to me in terms I could understand but it didn't feel like I was being spoken down to. When time commitments were made, those commitments were honored. While I wish the dealership were in closer proximity to my home, I am really happy with my experience and will be back. read more

I have a very disappointing and frustrating experience when I bought the Mazda for my daughter. I do not want a long negotiation, thus before going to the car dealer shop, I made sure that we already have a deal with Dylan, its internet manager. I mentioned to him that I specs for the car that I want. I told him that we will see the unit and he agreed. When we arrived at the dealership, he was not there (very unprofessional). We were endorsed to another sales guy who offered us a different terms with what we have previously agreed. We stayed there for more than three hours, negotiating again, and when we were finally done, we end up paying additional more than $1,000.00 plus and a higher monthly amortization. I was forced to sign up as it was already late and I have already returned the other leased car of my daughter. She goes to school everyday and need a car badly for her transportation. Very frustrating! Never again that I will deal with you! I almost consulted a lawyer to sue you for misrepresentation. But my daughter is just stopping me. I am still furious and disappointed. I didn't get and won't get my car from here but I thought it is worth sharing my experience. I went in here last weekend looking for a lease on a Mazda Sedan. The sales rep, Gonzalo greeted me and made the whole experience very personable and pleasant. He's a wonderful sales person to work with. 5 stars to him. We went back and forth on the numbers for a couple of days for the 2018 Mazda 6 and I was finally promised a price which came kinda close to my budget. I confirmed that all the terms such as the rebates I'm eligible for, the miles, the color of the car I'm looking for and that the down payment includes all of the sign on fees. I agreed to go in on the condition that we would get to look at the numbers again and come closer to the budget I had. They gracefully accepted to do so. But once I got to the dealership, the sales manager came up to me with a price which was $38 per month more than what was initially promised!!! I was very disappointed and annoyed and when i expressed it, they told me they'd look at the numbers again. They did reduce it by $22 but it was still $16 more than what I was originally promised. I understand that they couldn't go below what was initially promised, but I find it outrageous that they couldn't keep up even to what was promised (inspite of me enquiring about every aspect of the lease before I went in). To add to it, the sales manager had an attitude that is not acceptable. On being questioned about their inconsistency, they merely reply saying the sales reps don't know the exact numbers!! How does this even work?! How can you promise me numbers which your own sales reps don't know?! They do have very good and personable customer service until you get down to the numbers. Special mention to Gonzalo who worked extremely hard to make this deal happen, but the unacceptable attitude of their sales managers (esp. when they have such inconsistent numbers) made me walk away from their dealership. To add to it, they told me that gap insurance has to be paid for over the lease, when in reality every Mazda leased from Mazda Capital comes with gap insurance included. I did walk away extremely annoyed and disappointed, but I do understand it's a business and it is what it is. read more

Have not even dealt with them yet, I only went on Turecar.com to inquire about the pricing of a CX5, they got my number from the Truecar website, and then the bombardment got started, NO LESS than 30 calls within one day, (And on a Sunday too), to my house, messages after messages, It got to a point where they started calling every 5 minutes, to a point where they don't even bother to leave a message anymore, they just kept calling, when my answering machine picks up, they just hang up. I can not believe a legit car dealer will allow their marketing department to do something like this, it is very shocking let alone extremely aggravating. Are you guys that desperate? This is the worst high pressure sales method I have encountered in a long time, I personally hate cold callers to the gut, and this is not only ridiculous, it's disgusting , why do you allow your sales team to do something like that, bother people with phone calls in 5 minutes succession? I was met by the salesman, Taylor Sivils. His demeanor was still influenced by his exposure to the Chinese culture. He was far too polite and honest compared to the many car salesmen I've dealt with over decades. Very quickly, he told me if I did not agree to their markup, they simply will not sell me the car. Considering Honda, and others were charging up to 5K markups, I decided to take their 1K markup, down from the original $1692.00 they initially tried to make me agree to. The one thing Taylor did that I did not like was asking me questions about my income, etc. as if I was applying for financing. I was paying the car in full with a cashier's check. There was no reason for them to fill out the IRS form 8300 documenting/reporting a questionable source of funds. His lame excuse was they had melded the DMV registration form with the financing application form. The creative excuse almost sounded plausible. I told them I was not signing a consent for them to run a credit check on me. If they pull this stunt in all their cash-paying customers, one can just give them any fictional number as an income since it is none of their business to know. Time to see the finance officer, Aaron. A Biblical name, but that is where the resemblance to holiness ends. I was seated in front of what looked like a large iPad covering the entire perimeter of Aaron's desk. I am not that short, but I am not tall enough to see the display on this giant document graphics without my having to crane my neck. Typical of finance officers, they rush you through the signatures before you see anything you shouldn't see. He tried to browbeat me into taking a "service contract". "Why not?", he asked in an irritated manner. "I am just trying to save you some money". That would be a first, for a finance officer to try to save me some money. I saw that the 1K markup I agreed to was apportioned this way: "Cash Price Accessories" for $598.00, " (I presumed the "nitrogen" BS is in that package), "Shadowmark Labeling Theft Deterrent" for $399.00. They sneaked in a "DMV desk" for $31.00. These are all con charges that under normal circumstances I would not agree to. We have a NWO-"orchestrated" car shortage, just like the orchestrated Covid "plan"demic, and orchestrated food shortage. I was asked to sign an electronic consent form. I was not told I had the option of choosing hard copies of the documents. When they sent me the documents, I was prompted to download an app. I did not want to have to download an app risking getting one with a backdoor. This was information they should tell their customers. My brother who fixes computers was able to open the documents without using the password they told me to use, showing their process is "not secure" at all. Among the documents I received was a statement that I had the right to rescind my consent for electronic conveyance of documents anytime. I rescinded my consent. Curtis called me and asked if I wanted to get hard copies of the documents. I received them through Fedex. Still they sent me a second set of electronic documents. My brother who lived in Japan for some years regaled me with stories about how car buying in Japan is not like the way it is here where it is like a sport on how much money the sellers can "con" the customers with. Taylor was the better part of the experience. He drove me to the credit union to get the cashier's check and then he delivered the car to my home. I wish for him a better job where he won't have to sacrifice his integrity before it is completely eroded. The 4 star for customer service is solely for Taylor. The "detailer" was not very detailed; missing obvious scratches on the car. I had to point it out to him. Taylor's pony-tailed manager said a loud "thank you" to me. This was my first time at this Mazda dealership. After having less than ideal experiences at some other Mazda dealerships, AJ welcomed me and my family with red carpet treatment and gave me the positive experience I was hoping for. AJ and the finance department were so patient and helpful, staying late Friday night to make sure I had the best deal and I was able to drive off the lot with a brand new beautiful Mazda CX-5!! First thing I'd like to say is GONZALO HERNANDEZ IS THE GOAT!! For those who may not know what that means.... it is a person who is able to make things happen! I have have never gone to a dealership that is filled with kind and genuine people. From the time we got here, we were greeted with Starbucks, and smiles! Gonzalo and Pauline worked with me, they listened to me and they were kind! They beat all of the dealerships and I will MOST DEFINITELY refer other people here! I appreciate Gonzalo's ability to be relatable, kind, funny, while being educated in the cars I was interested in. He knew every detail about the car and was confident in what he was selling. I appreciate working with someone who can balance the best of both worlds........ and provide In and Out. Seven months ago, I leased a vehicle from CardinaleWay Mazda. I had a great experience, so I wanted my kids to buy/lease from here when it was their turn to get a car. Last night, my son got his first car. I wasn't thrilled with the finance person who used fear and obviously sales experience to push an extra $670 right at signing (after payments had already been settled!) Such scam! When he was given the "KEY" to his new car, he was given only one key because they said they had locked the other. Nobody went over the vehicle with him (to show him features or things he should know about the vehicle) less than 10 mins into the drive home, he was stopped by police for not having a rear license plate. Turns out, the dealership did not install one! Wth!? His first car experience is now tainted by being treated as a criminal, being sat on the ground and questioned while they ran details on car. What a nightmare! Extremely disappointed and I feel terrible for pushing him to get a Mazda when he originally wanted a different vehicle. Something has definitely changed at this dealership and I would definitely NOT recommend it. My loyalty to returning to them was definitely not appreciated. I am deeply disappointed and would recommend you go somewhere else if you must get a Mazda. I can't express how deeply disappointed I am, especially after the horrible experience to see my son on the ground for driving a car without plates. read more

Let me tell you about my favorite dealership. This is my favorite place to upgrade! Yes I love Mazda but the staff is like family. Paulina and AJ are absolutely the best.
