I want to say this place is equivalent to a Burger King or McDonalds etc.....definitely food you might want after hanging out with friends late night (food that doesn't need to be critiqued just put in your belly.). I will say their sign says seafood so that's most likely their specialty which I didn't try. I had a bacon cheeseburger fries and onion rings. The burger is only made one way which is well. The onion rings looked like calamari but were ok....sometimes looks aren't everything lol. I also had the crab chowder which was ok. I'd say yes to this place if I was doing a 10 hr drive and it was the only option. Our waitress was super sweet and patient but we winded up taking the order to go because the whole restaurant is carpeted so there's a lingering smell and they don't vacuum due to noise factors instead they sweep all the dust around. Something a person with allergies definitely doesn't want to be around but the drive up might be an option for you. For me it's a no thank you. Maybe if they updated the interior and ripped out those rugs I might try what's on the seafood side.

Late lunch appetizer and food same time don't like it that way

Over the years when im in town CH is my go to and its always a hit or miss at all locations except Waters. This day I was starving after a day of golf and my dad wanted to stop here and it was a miss even the appetizer came with the food no space in between.

Located off of Abercorn street near the Toyota dealership, this restaurant is good ol fashioned food. I typically order my food to go and everything is cooked fresh and hot when given to me. I stopped by late Saturday night to catch the half priced hot wings deal. It was fairly late so the restaurant was pretty empty. I did an online order and my food was ready before I arrived. Restaurant was clean and quiet. The young lady that helped me was very nice. I ended up ordering the tenders special and my food came out super quick. The tenders were fried perfectly and seasoned well.

Came in tonight for a quick bite to eat and they had the wing special going on. The wings never fail me, the chicken is always fresh, crispy and hot. The sweet tea was a bit too sweet for me, but overall good. The lady who served us was super sweet and informative.

Medium steak. Obviously extremely overcooked, almost like trying wasn't an option

Horrible overcooked steak and chicken. First and last time I will spend that much money at this establishment for this kind of food. THE PICTURES SAY IT ALL. I couldn't be an owner and not address this asap. Let's do better Carey!!!

For lunch, we went with the blackened Baja fish tacos based on our waitress's recommendation. Great call. The blackened fish added another layer of flavor, and the coleslaw was excellent--on the tacos or straight off the fork. The vibe was laid back, friendly, and easy. Local artwork on the walls gave the place a nice community feel, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the restrooms were clean--which always earns bonus points. Overall, Castaways is a great stop for a light lunch, good food, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I had the salmon blt and it could use a little bit more seasoning but it it was cooked just right! The home made chips were absolutely to die for because it was so delicious! Not salty at all and perfect crisp at every bite! We also got fried tomato and it was topped with I believe, goat cheese and it was so crispy and delicious, I do with it has a bit more seasoning on it but we paired it with the crab dip and it was perfect to the taste!

Both locations are mediocre but this one is better than the one on the east side. We did enjoy the dumplings (they honestly tasted like they came out of the frozen section but my boyfriend was happy) the onion rings were alright but tasted the same to me, the wings were a 10-piece and I was hurt that they gave us 9 legs and 1 premature flat. The flavor was a little off, maybe the wings were old but I'll pass. I like to create a bag with just potatoes, corn, sausage and eggs and eat it with rice. The flavor was just okay to me, it kind of tasted watered down which is strange to say. I WILL SAY THIS THOUGH... I ordered something I never order and that was the steamed oysters, well done with all the seasoning/butter and after they took them back and cooked them right they were truly the HIGHLIGHT of the meal. The vibe last night was dead, the bartender and manager were weird he spent most of the time talking and following her. Our server was just alright, the first impression was every impression I get at these type of restaurants. They hire a certain type of server out front, probably their first serving job, air pods in the ear, revealing shirts or mid drift, quick with words and not really able to sale the menu. Erica Davis Lowcountry sits on Victory Drive in Thunderbolt -- a town so small it has exactly one square mile of land and a name borrowed from a lightning strike that supposedly split open a freshwater spring on the Wilmington River bluff. The restaurant itself has a similar origin story: a long-shuttered seafood spot called Teeple's, left empty for years, brought back to life by Erica and Dwight Davis with real care. The gaslight sconces out front stayed. So did the bones of the building. The garage doors open when the weather cooperates. We came in late on a Friday, catching the final stretch of their brunch service. Hannah (I believe) was our server -- in training, which you wouldn't have guessed. She steered us well and managed the table (and the room) with a confidence that didn't feel performed. We started with the Barbecue Shrimp and the Oysters Rockefeller. The barbecue shrimp -- Georgia shrimp in a spiced, rich sauce served with toasts -- was good but the one I'd skip on a return visit. The Oysters Rockefeller are the opposite story: roasted, finished with creamed collards and parmesan, and genuinely one of the better bites I've had in recent memory. Order them. My husband had the Wassaw Redfish -- pan-seared over stone-ground grits with garlic beurre blanc and heirloom tomato. Clean, confident cooking. I had the Sunday fried chicken, which delivered exactly what that dish promises when it's done right. Sides of fresh green beans, South Georgia collards, and Erica's Famous Coleslaw held their own across the board. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie, served in a cup that does not prepare you for how good it is. Tart and creamy in the right proportion. We didn't leave any behind. The family's seafood history in Savannah goes back to 1946. You can feel that kind of depth in a kitchen -- not in any one dramatic bite, but in the steadiness of it all.

The…read morerestaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the staff was friendly, although our food took a bit longer than expected to arrive. I ordered the Lowcountry Boil, which comes with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. The sausage and potatoes were good, and the seasoning was decent, but I was underwhelmed overall, especially considering the price. The shrimp didn't seem particularly fresh and had some white spots and discoloration that gave me the impression they may have been frozen for quite a while. As a result, the dish didn't quite live up to the hype for me. My wife ordered the Wassaw Redfish, which was recommended by our server, and that ended up being the standout dish of the meal. The redfish was cooked well, the garlic beurre blanc sauce was rich without being overwhelming, and the grits were creamy and flavorful. The shrimp and green beans complemented the dish nicely. Overall, the experience was mixed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and my wife's entrée was very good, but the Lowcountry Boil fell short of expectations. I'd consider coming back to try some of their other menu items, but based on this visit, I wouldn't order the boil again.
