Food was delicious, service was good. Kat took care of us. Love the decor funny and cute. Love the hush puppies! The only disappointment that the delicious barbecue sauce didn't match the bottle you can buy from their merchandise. Overall great experience

This was surprisingly very good barbecue. And we even had good service, as well. The restaurant had been recommended to us by our hotel on Tybee Island as worth a drive. So when we arranged to meet up with a (former Yelp) friend driving from South Carolina, I suggested this location as it didn't require her driving all the way to the beach -- and hoped for the best. We each got something different. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans; she got roast chicken and potato salad; and I got St. Louis ribs and sweet potato casserole. It was all very good. They enjoyed the sauces on the table -- especially the sweet one and the smoky one. My ribs were so good, I didn't use any sauce. For dessert, there was the banana pudding, ice cream, and peach cobbler. I had the cobbler and it was just okay. My husband had the banana pudding and said it was wonderful. And our friend got to try this locally famous brand of ice cream. After eating so much seafood recently, not only was the barbecue a nice change of pace, but a very good dining experience. And yes, it was "worth the drive".

This was a great place to meet a friend from our Yelp Broward Palm Beach Community. She drove from Margaritaville and we drove from Tybee island. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich with baked beans. Both were very good and with their smoked BBQ sauce, was delicious! For dessert I had some world class Banana pudding! Thank you for a great lunch!

While staying on Tybee, my wife said she wanted some BBQ for lunch, so Wiley's was close and seemed to have a good selection. The restaurant was just opening for the day so it was not busy at yet. The interior is decorated with BBQ contest trophies/ plaques, memorabilia and photos. It was well lit and very clean. Service as very good and helpful. I had the sampler with pulled pork, ribs and sausage all of which were excellent. My wife had the brisket which she really liked. The sides were very good as well especially the red beans and rice. The sauces were all very good as I tried all three on my pulled pork.

Bbq was delicious and super filling. Came with a group and got sat quickly. Place had a few tables taken already but not packed. We ordered different things, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and different sides and not one complaint. Brisket was super tender and you can add your own bbq sauce. There are 3/4 flavors and they leave the bottles in the table for you to choose. I got the sweet potato casserole and it was sweet, maybe brown sugary, but tasty. The broccoli cheese rice was delicious and tasted as such. All of us had a hard time finishing their food. Friendly staff and decent parking. Price was about $22 per person with a meal and drink. No cornbread unfortunately.

Excellent, yummy to the fullest, I definitely recommend the sampler, it's full of taste, smile, perfection and experience. Love the place and the ambiance. Try the "better than sex" sauce.

Placing an order online was quick and easy!! I went to go pick it up, and every patron (about 2-3 tables) in there just stared at us when we walked in. It's no fault of the restaurant, just quite uncomfortable. We focused on just picking up our order. Sarah at the front was friendly. We had a little discrepancy over the sauce count. We had such a large order for a party of 12, with about 6lbs of meats, and quite a few sides. The number of sauces she originally gave us was quite short, compared to the amount of food we ordered. After my cousin pointed out the picture posted behind the counter with the sauce count per pound of meat, Sarah agreed and made it right for us. Overall the food was great. Everyone in my family was happy! My favorite was the brisket, others enjoyed the burnt ends. And my two favorite sides were the fried okra and the Brunswick stew. It was my first time hearing of and trying brunswick stew and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is located on a busy highway in a strip mall plaza. Plenty of parking and clean on the inside. Definitely would come back the next time I visit Savannah.

Run, don't walk. Everything we had here was absolutely divine. They claim to have the world's best baked beans let me tell ya, they were not lying. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and the sweet potato casserole was mouth watering. The pulled pork was juicy and the rib meat fell right off the bone. They have 3 different sauces you can add at the table; a sweeter bbq sauce, a spicier bbq sauce, and a smokey sauce. The Smokey sauce was by far our favorite. Our service was great too and the food came out super quick. Top notch all around.

We tried the Smashburger special with fried Brussels sprouts tossed in a sticky Asian glaze -- and I say this as a Brussels enthusiast: some of the best I've had in my life. The pulled pork sandwich was a hit with the kids (zero leftovers = five-star review). The mac and cheese disappeared faster than I could taste it. And yes, we got the tots -- well seasoned and totally necessary. No dine-in space, but honestly? Sitting in the car with the A/C blasting, swapping bites with the kids, and not worrying about anyone spilling on a restaurant floor felt just right. It was about $57 for the full spread (plus drinks) -- not cheap, but absolutely worth it. The dining area appeared dirty and had an unpleasant odor that made us question the overall cleanliness of the establishment. When we walked in, no one greeted us or explained how ordering worked. I asked if we should just sit down and order, and the cashier, a heavy-set woman with dark hair and glasses, simply said, "Sit anywhere." A moment later, my daughter asked the same question and was told, "You order here, then sit." It would have been nice if that had been explained to me the first time. Because of the poor service and first impression, I chose not to order anything. My daughter did order, and unfortunately the food was just as disappointing. It was dry, flavorless, and not worth the price. Between the lack of customer service, poor food quality, and concerning cleanliness issues, this was not a good experience. We won't be returning.

Before our trip, one of my fraternity brothers told me that if I wanted some of the best Southern soul food in Savannah, I had to visit Mrs. Wilkes. He also warned me that there would be a long wait. Let me just say--he was absolutely right on both counts! We arrived at the restaurant and stood in line outside in the rain. We didn't get seated until 1:00 PM. Normally, I would not wait that long for a meal, but for the record, and I can't believe I'm saying this--it was worth every minute of the wait. The experience was unlike any restaurant I've ever visited. My wife and I were seated at a large table with approximately eight other people whom we had never met. Yet within minutes, it felt like we were dining with family. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine Southern hospitality. The food was simply outstanding. Every traditional Southern dish you can imagine was brought to the table and passed family-style from person to person. The home-cooked flavors reminded me of the meals many of us grew up enjoying. Everything was delicious, and the desserts were just as impressive. What made the experience even more special was the sense of community. People of different backgrounds and races were dining together, sharing food, conversation, and fellowship. The staff worked together seamlessly and went out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. While we waited in line, a gracious lady shared the history of the restaurant and the legacy of Mrs. Wilkes herself. The staff even provided umbrellas to guests who didn't have one--including me--which was a thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about their commitment to customer service. From the food, to the hospitality, to the rich history and unique family-style dining experience, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room exceeded every expectation. If you're visiting Savannah, this is not just a meal--it's an experience. I proudly give Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room a 5 out of 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.
