They pride themselves on there "world famous hot dog" it's a 1/4lb dog split & grilled served on a warm bun & a plentiful condiment bar to boot. Ask the friendly staff in the Deli how the dog came to be "world famous" they be happy to tell you! It's a cute story :) The burgers don't take second place either, the juicy all beef patty comes on a toasted sesame bun served w LTPO (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) you can always spruce it up w cheese, bacon, or an ortega chili, (w and additional fee of course. :) The meals include a side of your choice, now there is no fries, but they make up for it with their HOME MADE potato salad, mac salad or chili, among the other standard sides, green salad, chips & salsa or a bag of kettle chips!!! The food was good overall, but it didn't leave me dreaming of it. For us, it probably wouldn't be a place we'd specifically make a special trip back for, but we still enjoyed the experience. The wings were cooked then tossed in an aromatic combination of herbs, and came with traditional Buffalo sauce and Ranch. When we got there we were charmed by the small, warm bistro feel to the place and thanks again to Nazare who got us sitting, with drinks in hands quickly. Our waitress Quinn was delightful and a big help in helping us create the perfect order for ourselves. The meats were done to perfection. The service was impeccable. It's super family friendly, and our son loves the toddler play area. Our nieces also love the arcade games, so it's a great spot for kids and families. The beer is the best we've had in Atascadero, especially the west coast-style pale ales and IPAs like Atasca-where-o, Afraid of the Grade, Mouse Rock, and Hop Clarity. The staff has always been great, the indoor/outdoor space is awesome for groups, and having a full kitchen makes it even better. We even hosted a small lead-in gathering there the night before our son's 1st birthday party, and it was perfect. We're excited to keep coming back and becoming regulars.

Wild Fields also puts together a home-brew competion, fuly embracing their community and craft beer roots. The winner gets to brew a batch of their recipe on the house system and this ultra low alcohol, smoked wheat beer was one of the most unique beers I've had. For the food, we had pulled pork and loaded mac-n-cheese. Pulled pork was fine, but I'd prefer more smoke flavor and aroma. For loaded mac, the protein is polish sausage-not something I've seen before. While it somewhat works, I don't think I'd order this again. They also had a ticketed comedy show, which we stayed for after the official closing time on a Saturday. It was fun and totally worth it. With their strong local connections and family atmosphere, Wild Fields in Atascadero is worth the detour from SLO and Paso destinations, especially for families.
