We wanted to have brunch at Ventana in Pismo, but they were busy (holiday weekend) so we decided to head back home instead. Will definitely hit them up next time we're down here. Thankfully, Carl's Jr. was right off the 101 exit and decided to pay them a visit. I tried to go through their drive thru with our RV van, but their 9 foot clearance was cutting it too close with our roof air. So my co-pilot Sweetie, the boss, made me go out and order our food in the lobby. The things we do for love. Hahaha :) Gotta tell ya, life is full of great surprises. I was blown away with their excellent service. The staff who took my order, even gave me suggestions I would never have thought of ordering. Deep fried zucchini? Whaat???? It was delicious. They even deliver your food at your table if you dined in. I don't think Mickadees even does that. The only gripe was our burgers weren't as tasty, but you can't win them all. Just happy we had a great experience here. Cheers!

    Interior-- clean and bright

The interior here is clean... in fact they were cleaning when we arrived. The drink station was clean and well stocked. I was promptly greeted and the gal who waited on me was friendly. The food cake out quickly and was fresh. She had no problem bringing me back out a ranch even though I'd forgotten to mention I'd wanted one when ordering. The interior is spacious and well lit. There is even an outdoor seating area, but today was a rainy day so we opted for a booth inside. This is a very nice location!

Several places were closed for the day already and I saw this little corner place that still had the Open sign on. Burgers? Sure, why not, that should fill me up and it sure did! I ordered the regular Old Fashioned (no cheese), side of fries and a drink. Everyone was very friendly and helpful as I've never been to this place to eat before let alone this part of the state! The burger was perfectly cooked at medium and very juicy and delicious! Fried were good, not great but the burger was the star of the meal anyway. But I will say the fries were good once I dipped them in the dripping juices and sauce from the burger. But it was a very hearty burger and after a long drive, really hit the spot! If I'm ever in this area again or see another Sylvester's I will definitely make it a point to visit and try a different burger. Favorite dish: Old Fashioned with no cheese. Go out and EAT!

Ask the friendly staff in the Deli how the dog came to be "world famous" they be happy to tell you! It's a cute story :) The burgers don't take second place either, the juicy all beef patty comes on a toasted sesame bun served w LTPO (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) you can always spruce it up w cheese, bacon, or an ortega chili, (w and additional fee of course. :) The meals include a side of your choice, now there is no fries, but they make up for it with their HOME MADE potato salad, mac salad or chili, among the other standard sides, green salad, chips & salsa or a bag of kettle chips!!! We had time for dinner so off we went. Hum whats nearby the theatre, alot of places to eat really...we'd liked the A town diner before, the menu covers it all practically so...We parked seven o'clock the dinner tush had passed and in we went. We were seated at a small booth, perfect. Drink orders taken now we needed to decide what to eat. M went with a light breakfast offering a pancake, a scrambled egg and bacon. Hum it was dinner time dear, I needed more time. The fish & chips were the special and it was Good Friday but I went big with the hot pastrami sandwich. Fries are extra so I ordered the onion rings to accompany the sammie. Pretty quick the food was out of the kitchen and on the table in front of us, wow M dove right into that 7" pancake as soon as she finished pouring on the syrup. My sandwich was a hood size on a very soft french roll a good six inches Very tasty but I always think there should be more meat than bread, there was alot of bread in that roll. Where's the beef, right... Onion rings, nothing special your average frozen beer battered Moores onion ring served late but freshly hot. We had a good meal, good service and a fair price. Was it five star, no it was a good four star, we didn't need or want anything special. Now dessert was a calling from behind that glass display when we walked in the door but tonight the stomach and the wallet forgave. We were gonna need reason for movie concessions, right? It's super family friendly, and our son loves the toddler play area. Our nieces also love the arcade games, so it's a great spot for kids and families. The beer is the best we've had in Atascadero, especially the west coast-style pale ales and IPAs like Atasca-where-o, Afraid of the Grade, Mouse Rock, and Hop Clarity. The staff has always been great, the indoor/outdoor space is awesome for groups, and having a full kitchen makes it even better. We even hosted a small lead-in gathering there the night before our son's 1st birthday party, and it was perfect. We're excited to keep coming back and becoming regulars.

This makes total sense knowing that the owners came from San Diego and both worked for PPBC. Being familiar with Wild Fields award-winning brews we settled for the flight and then added some food later. Being a West Coast IPA couple, we were not disappointed with their draft offerings. In addition to IPAs, they have a good representaion of other styles, so there will be something for everyone-as long as they like beer. Wild Fields also puts together a home-brew competion, fuly embracing their community and craft beer roots. The winner gets to brew a batch of their recipe on the house system and this ultra low alcohol, smoked wheat beer was one of the most unique beers I've had. For the food, we had pulled pork and loaded mac-n-cheese. Pulled pork was fine, but I'd prefer more smoke flavor and aroma. For loaded mac, the protein is polish sausage-not something I've seen before. While it somewhat works, I don't think I'd order this again. They also had a ticketed comedy show, which we stayed for after the official closing time on a Saturday. It was fun and totally worth it. With their strong local connections and family atmosphere, Wild Fields in Atascadero is worth the detour from SLO and Paso destinations, especially for families.
