Working late night in the area again, and running out without having breakfast/dinner I stopped by here after 0330 Hrs. The ordering process was quick and efficient, no better or worse than other fast food locations. One plus, especially after a long busy night was that they also sold Monster Energy Drinks for 1.99USD, this is comparable to 7-11 down the street or anywhere else really. Ordering the Six Dollar Western Bacon Cheeseburger and fries, I paid and drove off to continue working. While working I began to see what the drive-thru window fortunes had delivered to me. This is a convenient location to the freeway. We ordered the Famous Star burger and the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. Our server didn't know if the chicken was spicy, but eventually said it had green chili on it. We asked that the burger not have cheese, but when they brought it out it was on there to our dismay. In the future I'd probably request no cheese on the chicken sandwich since it was processed cheese with a bad aftertaste. The Santa Fe sandwich was also poorly constructed. An oval/rectangle chicken patty on a round bun meant I had many bites without meat. The chili laid counter to the meat so the flavoring wasn't optimal. The patty was dried out too. I might give Carl's Jr another chance, but probably not this location. read more

I like Carl's Jr. and ate at this location regularly. But they overcharge. I've been getting combo #18 about once a week. It was always $6 on the menu, which comes out at $6.45 with tax. The price on the menu has not changed, but for couple weeks they have been charging me $6.30 plus tax ($6.75). I now asked several staff members about it but they simply don't care. "Must be the tax or something." Not according to the receipt. Yesterday I suggested to just leave a note for the manager to update the menu or the registers but even that was too much to ask for. Hungry on my lunch break, I made my way over here to get some chicken strips. As soon as I got to the window to pay, the girl told me I would have to wait about 3 minutes so I had to go park in front of the building. I was a little put-off by this already, because I only had about 15 more minutes of my break and a girl needs some time to eat!.......5 minutes go by....FINALLY a young guy comes out and hands me my bag. There was no "sorry for the wait" or any coupon or anything! Totally disappointed. Okay so...there was CARTILAGE IN MY CHICKEN. This is NOT the first time this has happened. Maybe it's not even cartilage because only the Lord knows they use real chicken or not. But, whatever the clear, chewy, hard, bits in my chicken strips are MUST GO. I was absolutely disgusted and had to eat around the mystery meat. If I wasn't already back at work, I would've returned the "chicken". Apparently the burgers are really good, never had one, not willing to try them. I plan on never going to Carl's JR. again and I don't recommend anyone else going there, especially if you are just wanting some chicken strips...McDonald's is probably better. read more

WOW! Worst service ever! If Jeff is working the counter, just leave. Seriously, leave. Subways and McDonald's are just around the corner. The smallest bill I had was $100. When Jeff asked I had anything smaller, I told him "no". Jeff ROLLED HIS EYES AND SIGHED. I kid you not. He rolled his eyes and sighed. And when he gave me change, he gave me as many $5's and $1's as he possibly could. He was acting like a 15 year old who was sent to his room. Then was I asked for my cup so I can get a beverage while I wait for my food, again, another sigh. I strive to always give my Clients the highest level of service and work way to hard to hand m money over to someone who doesn't appreciate it. On top of Jeff's attitude, the restaurant was dirty. The tables have not been wiped down and there was trash on the floors. The restaurant wasn't busy and there was no reason for it to be so dirty. If I was the franchise owner, I would be mad!! We went here multiple times while in the area for business and each time was pleasantly surprised by their service, efficiency and politeness. This Carl's Junior location is just about the same as any other Carl's Junior location. You've got your drive-thru, you've got your big lit menu, you've got your cashiers accepting cash or credit. There is nothing spectacular about this Carl's Jr., and really I just need to write more reviews. Walk away knowing this - at least there is nothing to write about. Went thru the drive thru picked up our order. Tried my fries they were cold. I didn't say anything to my husband since we are camping and didn't want him to waste more time since it was already dark. I just wanted to get back. I ordered 2 combos and 1 kids meal and an additional famous cheese burger since the kids are sharing the one kids meal. So, I didn't check my bag and guess what? The additional famous cheese I ordered was not put in my Bag. I made the most of it and cut all the burgers into 2 pieces so the kids wouldn't get mad since we didn't get one of the I burgers. I called at 720pm and it rang until it said to enter a code or something so I gave up trying to contact them. So, Carl's or whoever owes me $3.59+tax. read more

I have loved this Carl's Jr. since I was a freshman in high school. My dad used to bring me home Carl's Jr. cookies when he would come home from work and put them under my pillow and I would wake up in the morning to eat my Carl's Jr. cookie. carl's Jr. cookies are hands-down the best cookies in the world and I would know because I'm a huge cookie feen. there used to be an employee that worked here named Angel and every time I would go here, he would make my day and definitely hook it up with the cookies. Angel does not work there anymore but all of the employees that I have encountered since he has left have been just as nice and friendly. i've never been huge on the Carl's Jr. menu but I can say that this location has the best Carl's Jr. breakfast out of all the ones I have tried. Sometimes Carl's Jr. breakfast does not melt the cheese and sometimes there are ingredients missing or too many ingredients that you did not want, but this location hits the nail on the head every single time I order. this location is also very convenient for me because it is right next to my house and you can reach it from sidestreets or from Palomar Airport Road. I recommend everyone goes here if they are having a craving for carl's Jr. read more

This was actually a great experience at Carl's! I barely ever eat here but everything from the bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, cheese and sauce encompassed the perfect ratio. The burger was well-wrapped and proportionate. Kudos to the chef. read more

Waited at drive-thru for almost 10mins, while listening to 2 employees talk away (apparently they didn't know the headset was on), no acknowledgement whatsoever, they didn't speak to us at all. ..only thing that came out of this kids mouth was the total. I will add to the growing list of horrible reviews for this so called fast food restaurant. At 10:22am today I ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches and two hashbrowns. Simple order. No alterations. After 10 minutes waiting for my food in the drive thru, the teenage boy waiting on me asked if I could pull around front. After 15 minutes I had to go inside and demand my food. The manager on duty wouldn't even come talk to me. Plus-The teenage kids working there wouldn't tell me her name. After 20 minutes and NO explanation and NO apology from anybody, I finally got my food at 10:42 hoping that nobody spit in it while it was being made. This is a horrible fast food experience. I will never get food here again. My husband has a dairy allergy so i requested no cheese on my burger. I should have checked. Worst experience ever!!! It took so long to order, took longer than 20 mins to get food, after seeing teenage boy clean the already cleaned tables to my left for the 3rd time I went to counter to demand my order. The shift leader asked me what I ordered and said a simple 'that's it?!' No apology or anything. Food was so cold! Ugh. Everyone that placed order w us was extremely upset. A family of 10 went up and cancelled their order n a family of 6 followed and did the same! When we walked outside there were caution signs on the drive thru, I guess to keep new orders from coming in while they get a hold of the 3 orders they had left. Stay away from this location! When I started my order I asked the man on the intercom to repeat how many nuggets come in the kids meal and he yelled the answer through the speaker. Wow!! Most bizarre experience ever!! I come to this restaurant frequently during the day and generally get good food every time. For years. Tonight I worked late and needed to grab something late. Arrived at 9:20pm noting that the dining room was open until 10. Food took a little extra time. No big deal as I read emails waiting. Food came. Not perfect but good. I was eating at normal pace while reading the news on-line. Lost track of time but was nearly done. Now the bizarre part. Shift Leader Daniel came to my table and stated the dining room was closed and I had to leave. Not in a nice way. I looked at my watch and it was 10:15. I stated I was about done and I would like to finish my meal. He said if I didn't leave he was going to call the police. I was shocked. I am a Sr Mfg Executive in dress clothes just trying to eat a meal and I am going to have to talk to a police officer. Ok. I said call them. Which Daniel did. I was nearly done so as soon as I finished I got up and left. I didn't have to have officer conversation but as I left, Daniel flipped me off and shouted I was banned from the restaurant. Ok. I'm banned from the Carl's Jr. Carlsbad. I am stunned. Lesson learned don't come late and be prepared to get booted if you do. read more

I have been to this place many times and I would love to give it a higher review. However, my last visit through the drive through proved to be horrendous. I was overcharged for my meal, (ordered a double western bacon cheeseburger, and received a single.) I called back asking for a replacement burger, and the lady on the phone barely spoke English, and argued with me. I've come to this place so many times, as it is close to my house, but if I EVER come here again, I will for sure have to thoroughly check my order. It's a chain fast food/drive thru. Set your expectations at that level and you will be satisfied. Not thrilled, but certainly content. I commend Carls Jr for their ever expanding menu which includes sweet potato fries and Diet Dr Pepper - two items that keep me coming back! The BBQ sauce is disappointing! Yes it could be a cleaner and faster facility but we're probably talking minimum wage salaries here. Location is great off the freeway and there's always tons of parking. The bathrooms are typically quite clean too. It's what you should expect. Nothing more, nothing less. read more
