This will be a simple short review. In Diamond Bar, there are several group homes that take care of adults with special needs. It is sweet that they will get to go to lunch at places like Carl's Jr. to have a normal moment in their life. The manager and counter employee on duty at 12:30pm on 5.7.15 mocking them when I came in was a pathetic situation. First, the manager was telling the employee to go sit and have lunch with her family. The counter employee looked uncomfortable at the comment then laughed after delivering food to their table. I have made a million dumb comments in my life, but making fun of people with mental disabilities is a line that should be avoided. What made this worse to me was there was a B letter grade from the health department in the window. A manager of a corporate chain with anything less than an A should look in the mirror on who has the disability. Then, go volunteer to help these people to understand just how special they truly are and cleanup the problems in the store. read more

Some will say that fast food is fast food, but I beg to differ. Not all fast food is the same. What we consider fast food in this culture can be different for other cultures. For example, most of us don't consider tacos fast food (unless purchased from a fast food chain), while on the streets of Mexico, you'll find dozens of taco stands ready to serve you with your choice of meat. Similarly, not all fast food chains are the same. Sure, you'll probably get some kind of burger with some kind of fries, but they're obviously different. I've found the true test of a french fry is to allow it to get cold and see how much it resembles a rock afterward, or how well you can re-heat it. For cheap bastards like me, fast food is undoubtedly cheap eats. But because they're not all the same, you can't simply rate them the same way. What I like about Carl's is that they charbroil their burgers. Additionally, they have an excellent variety to choose from. Their newest incarnation is the Chicken Parmesan. It's what you'd expect - fried chicken with some cheese and marinara sauce between some buns. It's obviously not what you would make at home, but the overall taste and textures are pretty darn close. If you close your eyes and imagine you're in Tuscany, you may actually see the rolling fields when you experience this burger. Okay, so that may be a stretch, but the chicken was tender and the sauce was good. I had a coupon that I used that comes in the mail nearly every two weeks that got me some home-cut fries and a drink for free. The only reason this store is getting a 2 star is due to the food, which is ok. But other then that, the wait is to long, the place looks run down, staff needs to be fixed, and the prices are to high for a fast food restaurant, definitely not a go to for price, just go to the McDonald's next door for a better price in fast food, just bought a burger and fries with a drink and it was almost 20 dollars. read more

We found out that Carl's Jr is now serving a healthier option- the turkey burger! Tired of cooking, we decided to take home a couple turkey burgers for $3.61 each (after tax). Boy oh boy, was it delicious; the meat had a good chargrilled flavor and it was large enough so that each bite had a good amount of lean protein, even to the last bite! It's a pretty good size burger in general. The bun is also a mildly sweet wheat bun and there were lots of veggies (tomatoes, lettuce, and onion) inside. Every turkey burger is ~500 calories, even less if you forgo the mayo. Definitely a good healthy alternative that other fast food restaurants do not offer (yet)! One turkey burger is a good enough meal for me, but my husband was still hungry after the burger! Maybe next time we'll have to order a side with it. read more

This time biscuits. The time before this they were out of gravy. I know this isn't a great profit making menu item. Ordered at the Drive Thru today. Pleasant order taker. Once at the window, we paid and waited for our order. When our order was ready, the employee opened the window and in a careless manner, handed the food to us. She didn't say anything. We had to get her attention to ask for condiments. She never said a word to us. Once home, I noticed my spicy chicken sandwich was not put together properly. Upon putting it back together, I saw the lack of care for their product and the customer. They gave me a wrong order and even though the guy behind tge counter wanted to argue the manager stopped him and told me they would make me another sandwich and I could keep the one I had right now. I thanked him but did not keep the sandwich because I can't eat two. I normally don't write reviews for fast food joints but I was finally fed up with this one. This evening (2am, 9/22/16) I went through the drive thru. I ordered my food and was explicit, reiterating what I thought was misheard and listening for confirmation. I was patient and spoke clearly but I got the impression that the drive thru operator A) Didn't know the menu very well, and B) was not listening very well. These impressions might have been dismissed if It weren't for the fact that what I requested explicitly was omitted and my burgers were cold. The only thing that was hot were the criss cut fries. This isn't the first time the orders have been wrong and/or cold and it isn't helped by the order display being out of order. Would I recommend this Carl's Jr? Only if one had the intention of eating in. Don't do the drive thru during hours in which the dining room is closed if you can help it. My friends and I went here last night to get some food on the way to our Halloween event. We all shared the fries, I had the chicken tenders, and my boyfriend had a burger. The food tasted fine, but when we got home immediately after, we were all sick. My friends' stomachs were and still are messed up, and I keep gagging. Seriously, wtf Carl's. Horrible customer service. Cashier was reading our order back to us to make sure it was correct, and when we corrected her on anything she would mumble under her breath about how she wrote it right and we're wrong. Then will talk crap about my family to the manager while my dad is standing two feet away and the manager does nothing about it. The last two trips have been very disappointing. Last week I stopped by and ordered two Original thick burgers for my wife and me. When we opened the box, I thought they filled the order with the wrong burger. Dropped by again today, and received the same thing. Lettuce was paper thin. Onion the size of a silver dollar. Thin tomato slice that covered only a third of the burger, and 2 small pickle slices stacked on top of each other I have been eating this sandwich for many years, at many Calr's Jr. restaurants. The fries were good both times, but the sandwich sucked and definitely not worth the inflated price. I will not come back, and I live in the town. I've eaten at this Carl's location approx. 6 times the past half year. I'd say the food quality has been good half the time. Today will be the last day I eat at this location. I placed an order inside for my family, spent $45. I waited a good while (approx. 20 minutes) and didn't mind at the time as long as the food is fresh and hot. I usually check my food to make sure the order is correct but didn't this time as the gentleman who served me was courteous... my mistake. When I got home (less than 5 minutes from Carl's) the food wasn't even hot, the fries were cold and the burgers were room temperature. To make matters worse they didn't even make what I ordered. The breakfast burger was a burger with meat, cheese and bacon. Ridiculous. I even tried calling the phone number on the receipt and on Yelp but no answer, I don't even think it's a valid number to Carl's. I went back and stated my order wasn't right, he said they didn't want to make the tater tots for the breakfast burger but didn't say anything when I placed the order. I got my money back but that was enough for me to no longer eat at this location. At any rate, I will not be giving this Carl's location any more of my business and would recommend everyone stay away also. read more

I hardly go inside to eat at this establishment. It has this old feel and the layout doesn't really seem to work for me. It makes me feel claustrophobic. So, I go through the drive thru instead. There's hardly a line for the drive thru, and when there is, the wait is not even that long. Every time I get my food though it seems as if they had it already been made and was just sitting under a warmer. Not really that fresh. For example today. I pull up to the drive thru and order a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. I drive around the corner and the lady already had my food bagged and was waiting for me to pay. The food rating was a 2.5 out of 5 stars. But is it fair that we should really succumb to this quality of food that these fast food places have known to become? I think not. We pay for the food so I know the food quality could be better. If I wasn't in a hurry, I would have asked them to make a fresh one for me and then check it before leaving the window. I was in a hurry today so I really had no option. It is a go to place though for many who need a quick bite to fill their stomach. Although I'd like to say I won't be back, I know that I will be, because convenience is such a huge factor. I just hope the quality of the food can be better. read more

Used to go here all the time. Food was fresh and tasty and a nice atmosphere for fast food. Over time the quality of food degraded and the dining was always dirty even during off hours. It became impossible to get a fresh burger that didn't look like it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours. We complained and got replacement burgers numerous times but the replacements were just as bad as the one's we sent back and nobody there seemed to care. Yuck. read more

Bad enough that it's about double the price and not nearly as good as In-n-Out but I almost broke a tooth on hard bits of bone, animal teeth or something that wasn't grounded up fine enough in the patty that looks more like cardboard.
