I stopped here late last night after picking my husband up from the airport. I was so glad their drive through is open late as he was starving and there just wasn't much open. The woman working was very nice but she had a thick accent and a few things got mixed up. We got plain fries instead of waffle fries which was ok but I ordered large and we got medium fries and drinks. This was particularly upsetting because when she said at the window it would be $35 for two meals I thought there was a mistake or misunderstanding but I thought perhaps because we sized up they had charged extra? Idk. I asked for a receipt and we were on our way. The receipt does show that it was $35 for 2 meals with "med" fries and drinks. I haven't had them in a while and I guess I didn't realize that pricing had gone up so much. That being said, the fries could have been better. I thought they might be fresh since no one else was there, but no luck. Our burgers were good as always. The burgers here are fantastic. Unfortunately, the sodas were undrinkable. They had zero carbonation. I'm not kidding. They were completely flat with no ice and tasted like room temperature watered down syrup. I couldn't get the application on my phone to redeem the coupon so I went into Carl Jr. I showed him the QR code. He ask me to see my order. I showed him my order. He then says you can place the order on the phone or on the register then he turns his back. So I place the order. A receipt pops up and he ask to see my order on my phone. I ask him about the coupon. He says you didn't use it. I told him that why I was asking you. He said well I can't do anything for you. I ask for his manager name. He said he can't give that information, but she will be in the morning. And that there a phone number, but they don't pick up. I ask for the district manager information. I came to this Carl's Jr for the first time. I got there almost at 10am. I tried opening the door and it was locked. I was like aw man. The lobby hours posted outside said they opened at 7 or 8. Then soon after someone unlocked the doors. I ordered a monster biscuit combo. I thought it was going to be fast and fresh because we were the only ones inside but it was the opposite. This location continues to have its issues. I've now ordered through the app multiple times this year (including today 8/26/25 at 3:00pm), each time with wrong orders when I got home and always missing something. I usually order inside so I can watch my order being packed, but I made the mistake of ordering online through the app again and not thoroughly checking my bag. But the bigger issue is the store's lack of accountability. When I returned to the location and walked in with my bag, I asked to speak to the person in charge. The man who originally told me in the drive through earlier that they didn't have my order (I guess they found part of it) hesitantly said that was him and I explained my frustration and missing item and previous experience. He asked me which item was missing and said they would get it for me. He said they had some order issues and to contact corporate. No apology and no apparent concern from him or on behalf of the store. NOTHING ELSE!!! When I contact corporate, as he suggested, I'll be sure to ask them if this is the type of people they want representing their brand and serving their food. I will NOT be returning to this location (which is in my neighborhood) and will recommend to my friends and family that they don't either. Is good. Needs at least one more employees, in case one of them needs a break; it's understaffed. It's unusual, but not in an unpleasant way. I feel having another solid employee there would have the person manning the place to be less abrasive. I never come to Carl's Jr. in all honesty, but after hearing about the Froot Loop Donuts, I had to stop by! It was around 12:45pm and they weren't very busy. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes, which was great! The Fruit Loop Donuts come in a box of 5 for ($2.50). A bit pricey considering they're mini-sized but I wanted to try them, so what the heck. The colors were red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. And like the cereal, they all taste exactly the same! My wife and I have been loyal and happy customers of Carl's Junior for many years, frequenting the nearby location at 2609 West Taron Ct in Elk Grove (Harbour Point and Elk Grove Blvd). We had a singularly inconceivable experience in fast food service today at this location. We are still in disbelief over the sheer craziness displayed by this business today and will be unlikely to return. We went through the drive-through and ordered two items, a Beyond Famous Star and a Grilled Chicken Burrito. We pulled up to the window, paying over fifteen dollars for the two items. The worker was very polite and professional but clearly somewhat new at the job. I asked if there were hot sauce packets in the bag. He asked somebody behind him (possibly a trainer or manager) a question I could not hear then told me I had to pay 54 cents a packet if I wanted hot sauce. I repeated that amount (54 cents) and he confirmed it. I asked if they provided any with the order. He again asked somebody over his shoulder a question then turned back to me and told me they provide only one hot sauce packet per entrée and extras were 54 cents each. We took our one hot sauce packet and left. We understand the challenges faced by businesses in this political and social environment and have been supportive and patient with the staffing shortages, slow service, higher prices and/ or smaller portions. This particular practice/ policy, while a seemingly small example, stands out for the sheer stupidity of it in so many ways. While customers are expected to be patient and understanding with all these business challenges and shortcomings, they are now apparently open game for some good old fashioned price gouging. "Thanks for your money, enjoy your order...oh sorry, you can't without paying us a lot of extra money for condiments." And from a business 101 perspective; alienating your customers over condiment price gouging does not seem like a strategic approach to customer retention and recurring revenue. For reference, packets of many popular name brand hot sauces can be purchased right now at the following RETAIL prices: Franks .09/ packet, Texas Pete .06/ packet, Cholula .07/ packet, Sciracha .10/ packet, Tapatio .06/ packet, Louisiana .09/ packet. Picked up two large western bacon cheeseburger meals and the the tab was $28 with tax. After come by out of sticker shock my wife and I began to eat this $$$ food. I actually had worked for Carl's Jr. Back in the 1980's while in highschool and I can honestly say this is no where near the same food or quality. Even though we asked for a freshly conveyored burger we received a Luke warm dry version which the cheese did not even lose it's chill from the fridge. There was scant amount of sauce on it and the only thing that seemed fresh was the bun.. in addition the fries had sat under the heat lamp for some time and we're flimsy and greasy. After a couple of them they be ame inedible. In addition to the poor food they were advertising for help to up to $17 per hour. So that was xplaing why the sub par food was so expensive but you would have thought the customer service, the hygiene of the place and the care in preparation would have shined through. Couldn't be farther from the truth. The $17 per hour just seemed I the laziest and careless people around. I won't be eating at Carl's ever again. Wow, I just noticed all the negative reviews; either I must be lucky every time I go there or I happen to go at the right time. All three times, my order where made perfectly and never had to wait long. One thing you'll need to know is be sure to ask for condiments, otherwise you won't be given any. It's their policy. They also have a nice little salsa bar inside as part of the Green Burrito franchise. So if you want jalapeño for your burgers, welcome to take some. read more
