Fresh (not really, lol) off a 6 hour flight from Orlando, dealing with a rental car, and starting the drive to Newberg, we stopped at this Carl's Jr right before closing. Honestly, I've done this before late at night and was expecting crap service and mediocre food. That was totally not the case here. It was the highlight of our trip to Oregon. Ok, that's a big much, but it was definitely good. Carl's Jr isn't so familiar to us East Coast folks, so we had to peruse the menu. They were patient with us even though they were already starting to count the money and shut down the cash portion of the registers. I think they asked if we were paying cash before they started. I ordered the Hand Breaded Ranch BLT Chicken Sandwich with Waffle Fries and this beat the crap out of the other popular chicken place. What an excellent sandwich with fresh veggies and crispy bacon right before closing. The fries were crispy and delicious as well. And this isn't because I was pretty hungry. It's because it was actually prepared nicely. Thanks to the staff who was welcoming, didn't seem to mind that we dined in a few minutes past the dining room closing time, and made us some good food that we really needed. If I ever need a meal late at night again, I'll keep this location in mind. read more

The last 2 times I've tried to order through their APP I've had issues. Today I ordered and arrived at the store around 6:45am, they open at 6:00am. They were closed! One of my favorite junk food places Very consistent quality of food, which is unusual for a fast food business. They are conveniently located on main street with good parking and a drive through. I Was stunned with the terrible service. It was late, around 9:30. We have already tried a different burger place, but the line ended up being so long there that we had to try going here. There were no other cars in the drive through, so we figured it would be a quick stop. It was not. We waited-and I'm not exaggerating-10 minutes before someone came to the window and took our order. Keep in mind, there was no one else in the drive through. Finally, she came to the window. We ordered a single plain cheeseburger and a small fry. 20 minutes later, she came back to the window with our order. Again, I'm not exaggerating. The fries were not even very hot! We could see through the window 3 employees. Again, no one else in the drive through. There didn't seem to be anyone in the dine in. So what happened?! Terrible experience. The burger and fries themselves are the only things keeping the review from a one star. Burger was amazing, ideal to me. Either they have really good service or I just haven't been to Carl's Jr in awhile. Our group had our numbers but the guy still brought our food to us at our table. Like pedals of a flower the Carls Jr. universe of food keeps unfolding and amazing me. My life has been thrown into a complete state of higgledy piggledy of late because of a four letter word, the worst of them all.... DIET. I found myself thrust into a situation of trying to find something healthy at a traditionally unhealthy place. I scanned the menu back and forth, up and down, and lo and behold what do these old fat eyes see but a Taco Salad. It's a salad, that has to be better than a burger and fries! I ordered it, I devoured it, I felt reasonably good about myself. I did NOT eat the fried bowl! I wanted to. But I didn't. Different staff and friendly. I have recently moved back in the area and found that this Carl's Jr. is one of the best. The kid with the dread locks no longer works there. Instead on my last visit I was actually surprised by one of the employees buying my dinner because I left my wallet at home......(I came back to pay and gave the kid a tip as well). I will, unfortunately, have to agree with most reviewers here. This establishment is definitely not up to par. Fast food is just exactly that- fast. This has got to be one of the slowest drive-thrus I have been in. Two people ahead of us and still took over 10 minutes until we got to the window to pay. Ordered a couple 5$ boxes. I took out my sandwich- supposed to be a spicy chicken- just to discover it was a sloppy cheese burger in a spicy chicken wrapper. Ugh. Had to drive back to exchange it. 10 yrs. ago I went through the drive-thru lane on a very cold night, (which should have been my first clue!) and only ordered a soft drink. 9 min. later I was still waiting in line behind ONE car whose order took that long to put together. It was obvious the staff didn't want to have the customer pull around and park near the entrance, so they could have their food brought to them when it was ready; that would mean an employee suffering the cold weather for all of 15 seconds! I suspect there's only ever two people working in the building; one to take the orders, and one to make the orders, with the order-taker rushing from front counter to window. Came in with a friend, ordered a chocolate milkshake, " server " brought a half filled cup , asked if she would remake it and said NO this is how we do it with the whipped cream otherwise it will spill out ! I sat in the drive thru for about 7-10 minutes and even said "hello?" a few times and I got no response. Yes it was open, yes there were employees, there was even people in front of me getting their order taken and receiving food. Since there was no one behind me, I pulled out of the drive thru, and on my way out of the parking lot, I look back and I can see the employees just hanging out, laughing in the drive thru window. I've been coming here off and on for the past few months and the service had always been good. Service is friendly and responsive. In general more than I'd expect from a fast food place. But today was tops! I thought I'd ordered one item but when it showed up out was something else. Honestly, I'm not completely convinced it was their fault. I very well could've said the wrong thing. We got 2 of the famous star burgers and after waiting over 10 min, probably closer to 15 we were served soggy burgers that I couldn't even stomach. Yeah that's what I imagine this crappy "steak" quesadilla tastes like... why did I sit fourteen minutes (LITERALLY FOURTEEN MINUTES!) for a disgusting quesadilla that went straight in the trash? There was no one in line ahead of me. Not a single person. What took fourteen minutes?! It's definitely not the high quality meat. You couldn't pay me to try that again! My husband and I ate here the other night. He ordered a flame broiled burger, it was still frozen and cold in the middle. When he told the woman at the counter she said ok is anything else wrong? No he said I just need a different burger I really just want a completely different burger. He got a burger that was half the price of the flame broiled burger, with no offer of compensation on the matter whatsoever. The cashier was slow and continued to help the people at the window and completely ignored us, even when we tried to get her attention. She acted annoyed that she actually had to do her job when she finally helped us at the register. When she actually brought our food to us, she didn't set it down, she just dropped it on the table.
