Carlos & Diego did above and beyond for this move. I initially thought I wanted to try to do this myself but quickly realized I had too much stuff and not nearly enough strength to haul it all up stairs. They made it look easy! When I initially made this reservation, they took the time to walk me through an estimated quote and talk through the actual end cost (I saw a review somewhere else here that said it was confusing but honestly it was the total opposite). They made it clear there were ZERO hidden fees and the fuel charge was extremely reasonable - especially right now. Carlos & Diego arrived to my original location on time, and kept me posted on the drive down to my new location (from North County to North Park) and then got straight to work. It took them roughly 5 hours with my belongings and they were extremely careful with everything, making sure that even the heaviest items were handled with care. I wish I could give these guys a good review. They were friendly, and polite, but took forever costing me way more than anticipated. We had a two bedroom, two bathroom move, picking up from two locations and dropping off at a third with a three story walk-up, no elevator. This wasn't going to be the easiest of jobs, but I was quoted that a 3 man team could complete under 8 hours. Unfortunately, one of the crew members that was sent out was a young kid, maybe 100lbs soaking wet, and could barely lift more than a 20lb box. I felt bad, but watching him move 1 box a time when a dolly was available was frustrating. I personally tried to show him how to use it because the foreman was packing the truck but he kept moving one box at a time. The foreman even yelled at the kid multiple times because he would simply shift around boxes to look like he was doing something, or would not move something the foreman asked him to move. At most he would continue to move one small box at a time, delaying us HOURS. I had guessed our move would take between 6-8 hours. It took 11 hours. The foreman called for a fourth guy to come help, but said the hourly rate would rise. I agreed that new guy was needed and I talked with Allen on the phone, their boss, telling him I wouldn't pay extra because he underestimated the move (I told him a complete list of all big furniture and move size), and had sent out bad labor. After some back and forth to which he initially disagreed, Allen agreed to no extra labor cost per hour, but I ended up paying for it anyway with how long the move took to complete. I felt bad for the guys who worked hard, trying to pick up the slack for their third team member. The foreman told me he had never worked with this guy before and apologized multiple times. I can't blame him, but I do blame the office guys who sent out the wrong team and underestimated the job since I was detailed in telling them the logistics. If you had more than a small apartment move, I would highly suggest finding a different moving company. I am use to experienced, big guys, wearing weight belts and use to the demands of the job. Unfortunately, we got some young kids who moved significantly slower than I've ever had another moving team do. read more

USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!!! Request Nick and Pasha if they're available. These guys are outstanding workers. I'd give them a solid 10 stars if I could. My fiancé and I called Square Moving at 1:30 in the afternoon. Nick and Pasha were at our place by 3:45. They wrapped all of our furniture carefully. We packed up two bedrooms and a mini closet. They used a 26 foot truck for our move. They brought moving blankets, large boxes, tape, and plastic wrapping tape. The movers were finished packing up our old apartment by 5:45. We just arrived at our new spot. The drive to our new spot took about 20 minutes. They finished unloading all of our belongings by 7:30. We are so grateful we used this company. While I don't like saying anything negative, i can't recommend these guys. Many items - too many items were broken; despite the fact that every box was marked as was the door to each room, about 25% if the boxes were in the wrong rooms.and they left a lot behind. The communication with the team was good initially. We had done most of the move weeks ahead with bins and boxes so the movers were mainly handling large item furniture which was detailed before the move date. I had a lot of concerns over a Murphy bed being moved and with a few calls and photos, they made me feel confident it would get done and done right. Unfortunately reality did not meet expectation when my husband had to step in, figure it out and help for the bulk of the day with the move, especially with the Murphy bed. The movers were SUPER nice and worked hard and we provided lunch and tip because of that. Buy management should have been better prepared so my husband didn't have to do so much work to get furniture moved in 9 hours. I'd also recommend supplying the crew with more materials because at some point items were being wrapped in boxes that we had purchased rather than in blankets. Again, we had a good amount of furniture, but it was itemized ahead of the day. read more

The crew of 3 showed up on time with a call 30 minutes before arrival as promised. Diego was the team lead and was friendly and accommodating to all of my requests, including helping me remove televisions from the wall and moving pesky outdoor pots. One week after the move we went to plug in our 55 inch tv and noticed that it had been damaged with a spider crack during the move. Just finished a massive 12 hour move. When I started my Yelp search for a mover, I was bombarded with offers that were pretty much all the same, and it was overwhelming. Who to pick? Well luckily I picked right. Will and his crew were amazing. They dealt with a ridiculous amount of stairs with some heavy furniture/appliances and never missed a beat and never a complaint. Everything was wrapped and padded and it survived the move - they even worked with us on positioning the stuff in the new place just right to the end. Time Bandits This company bill me for 5.75 hrs to move 1 bedroom: 13 boxes ( pre packed/staged) , 1 queen bed/frame, TV (packed) / TV stand, 1 loveseat, 1 dresser and miscellaneous household items. Every item that wasn't box-able they shrink wrapped chairs, desk etc. It took the 3 hrs (min bill time) shrink wrap and get everything outside. To my surprise none of it was actually on the truck just outside. Once the job was complete they broke down the cost $129 per 5 hrs for move( extra $10 per hr to use my debit card to pay its, 2023 who carries cash in that amount to pay for a move) , $60 for fuel, $28 for tape and shrink wrap (was not briefed there would be a charge for supplies) . and 0.75 hr charge for the double drive time to new unit it was a 40 min drive. All said and done it was over $820. Then they had the audacity to ask if I wanted to tip. I declined, shortly after one of the workers asked to use my restroom in the new place. I go in minutes later and to my surprise there's liquid splashed all over my sink and mirror, very unprofessional. Then several mins later the same worker returns with the bolts/screws for my bed set in hand, no bag or accountability of them just hands them to me. I have not reassembled my bed yet to know if there's a shortage at this point in time. I almost left out how they added these moving blankets inside the shrink wrap of several items. Had I not remove the wraps and collected these 10 plus blankets I'm sure they would've kept the clock going until they removed them all. Ultimately I think many moving companies operate like this to maximize profit, passing any and all operating cost to the costumer. Just sad that they'll probably read this genuinely believe there's nothing wrong with anything I just wrote, but I digress. read more

We were in a big bind - our mover that we had hired and had confirmed (Beach City Movers, in case you wanted to know that) completely no showed. These guys were able to show up within two hours. Otabek and Islombek were fast and friendly. They were able to accommodate most of our stuff and I didn't feel they wasted any time, which often happens when people are working on an hourly rate. I wish they would have had a bigger truck to fit a few more thing - but based on the last minute scheduling they did the best they could. Started out great! 2 movers very fast. Took great care of our things. However as the day went on the slower they became. Went a lot longer than estimated. Problem. No fee for piano move which was great they were aware of all the details in advance. 6 steps up into the new place. They said they could not bring it in needed a third person I even volunteered they said no. Spoke with salesman Allen said he will send 3 guys and I would have to pay another 159.00 for there labor I was not happy but said ok. He said it will be later during the week when they were in our area. After I finished all the paperwork and paid cash for the move he called me back and said we're not in that area so we won't be able to move the piano for you. I was pissed. I now have a piano sitting in my driveway. Disappointing started out great with a very bad ending. I will not use this company again. Honesty for me is important. read more

This is the second time we used this company and I was so happy to use them again. Carlos and Beto were very quick and professional. Originally, we had requested 3 guys for the move but unfortunately, one of them was a no show. No worries because the 2 that did show were very fast. We had to put some of our stuff in storage and they were able to wrap the items very well and organized the storage like Tetris masters. Both Carlos and Beto were very friendly to talk to yet professional with their work. They also made sure to follow social distancing for our safety. Update: To clarify after owner response... Boxes were all packed and ready to go. There was no packing to be done by the movers. The bulk of the furniture: 1queen bed, 1 bunk bed, couch, coffee tables, lazy boy chair, small dining table and 4 dressers/ tv stands. The movers complained that it was was taking a long time because I had so many smaller boxes to take down stairs. And WE had to call twice to find out why movers had not shown up yet during the delivery window. We were told they had not heard from the guys scheduled and had to find out where they were. Clearly a communication issue and the workers are being overworked.... or just told to take their time. Not sure what to believe at this point. They arrived at 4:30pm. Started around 5:00pm. The movers did take about an hour to drive my items less than 6 miles away to my church. Normally a 15 min drive max. So... I would count that as a break. The men finished unpacking at 1:30am.... YES... I:30 am. The church was paying for my move. They paid the deposit and the movers do not keep the card on file for final payment. The person from my church they called for payment had fallen asleep. Not surprising since it was 1:30 am! Since we could not reach her, they threatened to call the police. I probably should have called the police myself for my own safety at that hour. Had to charge on my credit card which I barely had room for and the church is reimbursing me. This move was a stressful situation which my church was trying to help with. I find it rude that an owner would reply on here and state untrue facts when he was not even on site.
