I was recommended ProMen movers by my cousin who had used them multiple moves within San Diego. I trusted her reference, so I hired them for a long distance move from San Diego to Los Angeles last month. I had a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment and they gave me two movers: Vit and Mark. The entire process was smooth. The movers arrived at 8:30am sharp and were fast & efficient in moving our big furniture items. They carefully wrapped fragile items such as our glass coffee table. It took them a couple of hours to move everything in to their truck. Then, we were off to LA. By the time the movers arrived to LA, they quickly went to work again. I was thoroughly impressed of their energy and sense of urgency. By the end of the move, everything was in place and we were satisfied. There were no damages to our furniture or in both apartments in SD and LA. We paid by card and had the option to tip via Zelle. Shout out to Vit and Mark. And the new location has the same floor plan, so imagine the grueling leg work they had to do! Regardless, they were professional and handled our stuff with care. Alex, the team leader, kept me in the loop. He and his team were respectful, they asked me questions and permissions. I have high respects for blue-collar men, as my husband is one too. We've moved many times due to military orders, but now he's retired and we're older, we can no longer do the heavy lifting. Had a great experience moving with Vik and Abdullah from ProMen! I moved 2 bedrooms worth of stuff from SD to OC, with stairs at both locations and it only took 6hrs from start to finish. They were kind, efficient and detail oriented (a few small caps came off some chairs and Vik made sure all of them were saved). They were able to get several large pieces of furniture down and up stairs with no problem. I also liked that they asked clarifying questions and accommodated my particular requests for placing items in the truck. I was nervous about spending so much money to hire movers for a longer distance but it turned out to be well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend hiring them for your moving needs! read more

I had "ProMen" booked for a job moving a tenant of 13+ years, which had already been a difficult transition for all involved. Booking asked a few questions about number of rooms, location, and kind of stuff to be moved, that part was a fairly easy process. They had given me a reasonable quote for a 4 man job loading and moving to the new place less than 6 miles away, When I got there, I was a few minutes behind them but I wasn't the person who's house they were moving and the resident who was moving were home when the "Promen" arrived and had let them in... I was later than them arriving (15 minutes behind them arriving, max) due to the freeway being closed. But again, it wasn't my home and I wasn't the one moving. One guy, (neither introduced themselves) had looked around, the other was too scared of the dog to even approach the front door and asked if we could secure it. I was never asked if there was a dog, so I assumed it wasn't going to be any issue, but we quickly put the dog in a separate room. When the dog was secured, he too, looked around at the place at the boxes that were already 90% packed and the nearly empty rooms, and said it was too "dirty" and there was a "bad smell" (13 + years of dog) and then mumbled that they were cancelling the job, and then just walked away. No one asked them to clean anything just move the boxes and furniture! Glad I hadn't been asked for a deposit because they never reached out beyond the boss' call to cancel without any further explanation. I was disappointed and had the suspicion that the dog was the crux of the issue. It was odd in my experience for a mover to have that big of an issue with one medium sized, well behaved, dog. Not at all "pro" any way you look at it. IF the presence of dog is a dealbreaker, whether or not there is a dog, should definitely be in their preliminary booking questionnaire. If they had underbid the initial request, (since the bid was sight unseen) then tell the client that, and offer a more realistic bid based on the new assessment of things. People aren't unreasonable usually. Professionals don't just walk away from a gig like moving someone's whole life while standing on the property, the day of the move! So very disappointing and completely unprofessional. I then booked with a great, very helpful company called Packing Bees moving, who had the job done in less than 4 hours, no complaints, no insults, just help. Don't book "ProMen", they are not what their name claims and they might leave you high and dry. read more

You get what you payed for. Mike who walked me through the process was amiable and accommodating but sadly the movers weren't at all. As soon as the two movers arrived to my old apartment (I think their names were Juan & Darshawn) they saw my things and immediately got overwhelmed. They saw that some of my stuff were in bags and said "We can't take them in bags, it's gonna take us longer because they are small items" when Mike told me it was fine. We started taking matters into our own hands. My partner and I started taking some of the bags in our car since time was ticking and they gave us the impression that they weren't going to do it. They didn't wrap most of the fragile items (frames, lamps etc) but instead put everything in a big carton box. They had to dissemble my dining table because it didn't fit out the door which is fine but they struggled to unscrew everything and were using a drill. Once it got to my new apartment they were manually putting it back together. Where did their drill go? It gave me the impression that they were trying to prolong the time. Instead of getting everything out of the truck and worry about assembly later, they started doing the time consuming tasks first. Then they couldn't get my bed frame to my new place, I understand the hallway was a tight squeeze. They insisted to dissemble it but seeing how long it took them with my table, I told them to just leave it and finish bringing down the rest of the stuff from their truck( I ended having to throw away my bed frame.) I only took out the amount of cash I was quoted, seeing we went over time, my partner and I started helping the movers were paying for, bring down our items (even though we loaded our car with the bags with the "small items".) They thankfully were able to bring in my couch but didn't connect it together till I told them to. They only removed the plastic wrap from the items that had their moving blankets not the rest. Now I have a bunch of plastic wrap to get through and dispose of. There was a language barrier which made it harder to navigate than it already was. Moving day is already stressful enough. My partner and I thought getting movers from ProMen would alleviate some but instead it added more. None of my items were broken (so far that I've unpacked.) We noticed that Darshawn was on his phone which is fine here and there but he did it multiple times for more than just a few minutes. It could've contributed to that extra hour they billed us. At the end Juan asked for tip through Zelle because I didn't have enough cash since they went an hour overtime. After given the tip my partner had in cash thankfully, there was no thank you or goodbye. It's not that we were expecting a thank you for the tip but at least to have manners of "thank you for booking with us, have a good one, best of luck in your new place" honestly anything would've been a whole lot better than just quickly walking out of our door. If you book with them make sure you take out more than what you're quoted because they are not good with time management and will most likely get stressed looking at your things. I hope the ProMen company improves their customer service and overall efficiency with their movers. The attitude of Mike was totally different than the two movers we got. I would never use this company ever again. I know several people who are moving and have been telling them not to use this company. They overcharge, act surprised and overwhelmed that they are hired to move stuff, do the bare minimum, stop to talk to each other a good majority of the time, ask for cigarettes, waste everyones time, and make you help. My husband who is still recovering from spinal surgery had to help the movers do their job so we could get this done. We hired them so he wouldn't have to do their work! We paid for everything to be moved and help packing with the last remaining room and they just moved the big stuff. I paid $900 plus a tip I didn't want to pay. All for the bare minimum. We had to get extra days from our old apartment to move the rest of our stuff when the movers could have done it in one day. Then they have the audacity to offer 25% off our next move with them after expressing our concerns. Ha! What a joke. If I could rate them -10000, I would. Never ever again. They responded promptly and professionally to my inquiry with a quote and further guidance/link to book which made a great first impression. The price was very fair so we went with them. We didn't even reach out to any others. They confirmed 24hrs prior by email and text. When they showed up they confirmed things once again on the invoice we signed and let us know the cost for any time overage (which we were already made aware of). They had 3 stops and handled it in good time. They let us know eta to each location. They came prepared with supplies and wrapped all the things that needed wrapping to keep them clean. Nothing was broken. They even left us a roll of tape. Our 2 movers were friendly and worked quickly and quietly (unless they had a question for us or each other).
