We have a $50 credit so we decided to put it to good use. Came by on a Monday around 530pm. Service was good. The breads that were brought were an Italian bread with sauce and a puffy garlic bread. Which we liked. We did not order appetizers. The place is a byob and we brought a bottle of Barolo. My eggplant dish was very good and the side of pasta was prepared perfectly Al dente. I was visiting from California and asked the front desk at the Sheraton where a good place to eat was and in there their response they refer to the area as being very "chainish" when it came to food, but said there's this one place you have to try - family run, friendly, and best food around.....Carlucci's! Our server, Alexa, cute, charming, attentive, was supported by a team of servers who helped deliver the food and made sure our needs were met; she quarterback the serving of our group of 7 very efficiently. They made us feel like family! As a testimony to the food, I had a Caesar salad to start and seafood pasta. The meal also includes fresh bread with marinara and a type of garlicky bread that helped me push my pasta around.....the rest of the table had a mix of Ravioli, Penne a la Vodka, pizza.....we actually shared a margarita pizza and a sausage mushroom pizza before our meal came and was exquisite. I visited Carlucci's for the tail end of my birthday week, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The food was service was fantastic. The authenticity of this place was legit. We came in around 1:30 without a reservation. The restaurant was practically empty. I could hear Italian music playing through the speakers. Our waitress came over and introduced herself, and asked what we would like to drink. Her name was Deena. Hopefully I spelled that right. One thing I didn't know about Yardley is that it is a dry town. Carlucci's is BYOB. Deena made us aware of this when my parents tried to order wine. Not to worry, my dad made a pit stop at Shoprite in the shopping plaza to grab us a bottle of wine for the table. Our soups/salads were brought out to the table depending on what we each chose (I got a salad) and then Deena brought over a plate of complimentary bread smothered in marinara sauce. It was yummy. You can tell they make their sauce in house. We also ordered Spicy Battered Cauliflower. This was an insanely good appetizer. I loved the tanginess and how the cauliflower was crunchy when you bit into it. Now, for the real winner... my meal was the best part about Carlucci's. I've never had eggplant the way they make it. I was so tempted to ask for the recipe so I could make it at home! It was called Eggplant Arnaud. It was thinly sliced, rolled up and stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheese. So so good. Traveling in the area and always check Yelp for restaurants. Located in a strip shopping center it is an interesting place. They have a small vegetable garden growing out front - don't see that often. We did not have to wait to be seated. They had a number of couples and families dining tonight (Monday). No beer or wine sales BYOP! Seems like a very friendly staff with the owner helping. Seems very popular with the locals. I had the wedding soup- very good flavor. Like the sausage. Could have been hotter. Everyone gets a puff bread. Really interesting bread with a special garlic herb topping. See photo. I had chicken Florentine over vegetables. Good vegetables- chicken ok a bit tough - nice sauce. Wife had veal parmigiana over pasta. She has had better more tender veal. So it is a solid 4. My return to Carlucci's was unfortunately not great. In fact, I was actually shocked with how poor my meal was. I went with the Chicken Palliard which is chicken, broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers sautéed in olive oil. My first complaint is about the quality. Everything was really gross. The chicken was overcooked and tough, the veg was overcooked and soft, and the entire dish was swimming in oil. There had to be in excess of 10 teaspoons of oil on the plate, which is disgusting. See photo! Who wants to eat food dripping with flavorless oil? Secondly, the portion they served was shockingly small. You're really serving me 6 strips of chicken, 1 piece of broccoli rabe and a few bits of pepper and calling it an entree? It was so small it looked completely ridiculous on the plate. And it didn't look appetizing at all. Jut a big plop of overcooked food in a pool of oil. Terrible execution guys. Considering how much I enjoyed my last meal, I'm really surprised about how bad it was this time around. One star. They should be embarrassed to serve food like this. read more

So my husband and myself were actually on our somewhere else to grab a pizza when we were stopped by a train right up the road. I was looking up places nearby to have dinner and Carlucci's came up on my search. We had never been there before. I checked the menu and told my hubby to pull a youey (you turn) and go to Carlucci's which is right up the road. We had no idea it was an actual restaurant but thought it was more of a small dine in pizza type of place with entree dishes. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a gentleman who had us seated quite quickly. I didn't know they had half table half booth, so I asked for that instead of the table we were being taken to, and they accommodated me without an issue. I immediately felt very cozy and the memories of my grandmoms kitchen came to mind instantly. I hear the waiter talking to a group next to us in Italian. There is Italian music playing overhead. It was so inviting. The same waiter (Sal) came and asked if we were ready to order. I asked for his help as we had never been there, and so many items on the menu sounded absolutely amazing. He helped us choose between two. We chose the Siciliano. It came with the choice of soup or salad. My hubby picked a squash soup, which he really enjoyed. I got a simple salad with balsalmic. We were already brought bread with a marinara sauce on it, which was really tasty. When they brought the soup and salad, they then brought a round garlic bread type of bread with tons of (locatelli) type cheese and oil it was amazing. They brought out the entrées....OMG!!! It had the most tender chicken and a perfect al dente pasta. The mushrooms and olives paired together with the artichokes made such a great tasting mix of deliciousness! Our waiter was super attentive. Our drinks were filled on the spot when empty. The manager or owner came around several times to ask how everything was, which I really liked. On to dessert, we got the Tartufo, which I'd never had before. It was so decadent and tasted so darn good! I have NOTHING but great things to say from our walk in to our walkout. After seeing ads on billboards on I-95, reading reviews online, and hearing from extended family members-- I decided to grab dinner here on a random Sunday evening. Let start start with atmosphere --- it was ....very tacky. Like something out of the early 2000s. I tried to appreciate it for what it is. We were seated near the kitchen and -- at this time -- there was no one else sitting in our section -- which always feels great for me, personally. The table and menu had that sticky apple-bees/chillis'/Olive Garden feeling. But again, let me try to be fair for what it was. I was most excited for the complimentary puffy garlic bread -- and was surprised to also be provided with a few pieces of focaccia-adjacent bread soaked in a savory sweet tomato sauce. This alongside with my luke-warm lentil soup was probably the highlight. The main dish that I ordered was some type of creamy tomato sauce penne with chicken. The pasta up not being creamy....at all. The chicken was also not flavorful in any way. I did not get herbal notes or garlic -- which are typically staples in Italian cooking-- while I was eating this dish. Though provided with a generous portion -- it was also wildly overpriced and definitely disappointing. I try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt by trying to revive it with the table seasonings-- salt/pepper because I understand chefs like to allow diners to customize to preference but I'm sorry to say that the flavor profile of this pasta was weak. Perhaps I'm being hyperbolic, but I really could not tell you if there was any real seasoning in this dish. The experience seemed to try to emulate an elevated olive-garden but double the price -- and it did not live up to the expectations I had. Side note, it's fine that they don't serve alcohol or any mixed drinks..I don't drink anyway. But I thought it'd be nice if they offered some type of in-house blended drink (like an iced-tea or something) as an alternative to fountain drinks. I'm giving this place it a 2/5 purely based off the bread and the friendly folks that work there. I feel like the popularity likely has to do with community members' nostalgia and memories associated with the restaurant because I really cannot say that I had a worthwhile meal or experience. read more

I've visited this restaurant three times over the past 6 months. Each time I've ordered the crab cake entree with linguine and the seafood soup appetizer. For two of the three visits the crab cake was phenomenal. Perfectly prepared and nicely browned. The very last time I visited however it was not and hence I have not revisited. I'm not sure what happened in that instance but the crab cake tasted fishy and I ended up leaving half of the crab cake behind. The linguine that comes with the entree has been consistent and has a rich butter lemon sauce that I'm sure isn't healthy but it sure is delicious. On other occasions I've ordered the fried calamari with a honey hot pepper glaze on top. This is a yummy combination of sweet and hot with the calamari perfectly fried. Dinner also includes complimentary appetizers, either focaccia bread layered with marinara sauce on top or a garlic puffed bread (sometimes I've been served both). The focaccia appetizer in particular is delicious. The service is generally attentive and friendly. On one of the occasions, the main entree came out before our soup came out which was a bit weird. To be honest, we thought it was a bit odd and the manager noticed that and took care of the mixup with complementary desserts so we didn't mind as much. Overall I'd return to Carlucci's someday. read more

Carlucci's Grill in Yardley lives up to it's high ratings. Located in a strip mall and offering both indoor and outdoor patio seating, the restaurant serves up delicious food and provides excellent service. We visited during lunch and we loved our food. Lunch starts out with complimentary bread with a fresh and flavorful tomato sauce. They do not serve the complimentary garlic puffy bread during lunch, but the waiter was kind enough to check with a manager and provide it when asked about it. Lunch prices are very reasonable and include a choice of complimentary soup or salad. The Caesar salad (4/5) was a decent portion and tasted great with extra dressing. The chicken parmigiana (4.5/5) was prepared to perfection with tender juicy chicken cooked just right perfectly accented with sauce and mozzarella cheese. The linguini alfredo (4/5) was prepared well with a light, yet flavorful sauce which didn't feel heavy or weigh you down. The service (5/5) was excellent and definitely made us feel welcome as valued guests. The margarita pizza my dining companion ordered for takeout mentioned it was excellent. It was refreshing eating here since the Carlucci's location in West Windsor more often than not misses the mark in service and atmosphere, but everything was on point at the Yardley location.
