I don't understand how people give this place so many stars. The food is terrible. My daughter ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was mostly shredded lettuce and "4 oz" of pastrami. Idk how this place has 4 stars? Came here yesterday with my mom and my sister. We ordered two juice and one wrap. It took them 30 mins to make our order. They were moving super slow and we were the only ones waiting inside and only ones who placed an order. They were talking to each other a lot and taking their time with everything. The place doesn't have AC either so you're standing there sweating while they're taking their time making your order when all you wanna do is get the hell out of there as soon as you can. They don't even update you on your order or anything. So you're standing there wondering if they are even working on your order yet. When we received our order, the juices were super warm which means the fruits and veggies are not being refrigerated. I had to refrigerate mine before drinking it when I got home. Which makes me question if they are even fresh fruits and veggies they use. The food was nothing special. Tuna tasted a bit weird and it was all warm too. And it was not a warm wrap. Definitely risking bacteria growth and causing illness with improper storage of food items. They also did not place the lid properly on one of the juices and the whole thing spilled before we even got home. It didn't look too clean inside either. Dust in the corners of walls and on the floor. Definitely do not recommend. Would not come back. Grossed me out. read more

I live in Downey and had not realized this place is now under new ownership for 4 months. It used to be a sandwich spot only open during the day. It's family run and the people are really kind. You can go in for dessert and grab one of the many items they sell just like at Palmitas (ice cream, bionico, jericalla, smoothie) or a freshly squeezed juice. They also sell hot and cold sandwiches. I went with my husband and got to try the Phylli Cheese Steak and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich. They were both tasty at a very good price. I was very glad they even put mushrooms in the Phylli Cheese Sandwich. I am looking forward to going back and having a juice and some tostilocos next time. Small shop on Downey. There were two ladies when I arrived and they were super nice. Ordered myself a diablito and they stuff the cup so much! Love it! Cool little spot to go to for a refreshing diablito, I have yet to try their other items on the menu but I'm sure to come back soon to try more stuff. read more

This place has some really good food for cheap. The best part is they deliver! My only downside is the lunch combo option. You can only do one per transaction. About two months ago, they let us do as many as we wanted. Other than that, this place is great. If you bring back the lunch combos, I'll change my review to a 5 star. read more

I didn't even know this place existed and I've lived in Downey for 30 years. I went with my kids. It seemed strange that there were no customers, it was a little dark inside. They had half of the lights off. We ordered 3 medium bionicos with the cereal on the side. Everything went well. Bionicos were good. The lady that helped us was very nice. We paid $21.75 for 3 med. Bionicos. So a couple days later we are craving bionicos again, so we go to buy bionicos here again. Again no customers at all, dark. This time there was another lady. I ordered the same thing 3 med. Bionicos cereal on the side (because the granola gets soggy) this lady was charging me almost $25. I said the other day it was $21.75. She said its because you want the cereal on the side. It's $1 for each container plus tax. The containers are the tiny like 1/2 to 1 ounce containers that no restaurant charges you extra for. Plus she didnt explain that it would be an extra charge. She was very defensive. I told her forget on the side then. Im not paying that much more for 3 tiny disposible containers. Her attitude made me mad and not want to go back there any more. The times I've gone there hasn't been any customers, zero. And they get a customer and scare them off with there hidden extra fees for things that shouldn't have an extra fee. Maybe thats why it's so dead there. read more

Ordered 2 BLTs with avocado sandwiches, 2 smoothies (banana, orange & strawberry) to go. While we were waiting we saw the A rating on the window then we noticed they had our favorite coconut pineapple Thrifty's ice cream. They kindly brought our food to us so we got our ice cream cones for the road. Yum. Environment was very clean and well maintained and customer service was great, sweet & friendly. This place had promise to give me a good meal. However, I ordered for delivery at lunch time at work, and they failed to add my extra cheese and extra meat on my sub. It was ultimately an "eh' sandwich, because there were 3 slices (one each of turkey, ham and roast beef) of meat on an 8" sub. There was also one single slice of cheese, broken in half, with 1/2 on each half of the sub. Also, the chicken on my Apple & Avocado salad - while the salad itself was actually very good - the meat was rather dry. The nachos (the $2.50 order) are well beyond terrible. Perhaps it was that they were delivered, and in an un-vented container, and seemed like they are made in advance and sat there waiting for an order... but they were soggy and droopy. Not a single chip crunched when I bit into any of them. I ate a couple and they were so nasty I threw them away. I can sense a decent meal here from these folks... but my experience was anything but enjoyable. I might give them another chance in the future, but this was just a poor delivery experience, and nobody likes getting gipped on their food to the tune of $5 after tax. read more
