A white couple with matching resting-b*tch faces were sitting outside and very obviously and rudely gawking at me as I made my way in and came back out - maybe they have never seen a non-white person here before? The pigeons nearby were friendlier, meanwhile the normal folks inside (while also noticeably all white and not being stared at by the outside couple) just kept to themselves as one would more so expect. Clientele aside, the staff were ok but not particularly engaging, enthusiastic or knowledgeable about the history surrounding them. I came here because it looked cool and it ended up also being delicious! - parking available in the back which is so helpful in this area! - great burgers! Got the regular double cheeseburger and the double chili cheeseburger with the train wreck fries. The burgers are awesome but the chili is what makes it amazing... I had to go get a side of chili for my burger because I could not continue to eat mine while my boyfriend had his with chili. Fries are similar to in&out and I will never complain about fries! We were staying in the area and were out running errands. Got hungry so turned to Yelp for options. We decided to try Carney's, especially since my hubby had been craving a hot dog. We went in and loved the charm of the train. I saw that they offered gluten-free buns, so figured I would be able to get a gluten-free meal. When I asked if the chili was gluten free, I was quickly told that nothing on the menu was gluten-free, except for the buns. I decided to chance it since I don't have celiac . The chili itself does have wheat, so I opted for a plain cheeseburger, lettuce, wrapped . My husband and son ordered a chili cheese, fries and a chili, cheese dog,. They were surprised to find that the chili lacked flavor And almost tasted like nothing. The texture was also odd and mushy. My lettuce wrapped burger was unremarkable. Loved this place as a kid when my dad would bring me and sister here. Haven't been back in years abut decided to run across the street after a pharmacy visit. Still has the best fast food fries- hot and crispy. The cheeseburger patty is a bit thinner than I remembered, but it was tasty and well cooked with fresh veggies. I haven't been to carney's in years and would like to give this place more stars but I just couldn't. Their service here weren't to friendly. The food Chili Cheeseburger was ok. The patty was nice and moist. Their burger was well put together. One problem the chili was so bland and kinda dry. Maybe I went on an off day. My daughter and my son did enjoy there burger with the chili. Their fries are pretty damn good freshly cook so it had that crisps to it. I've been a Carney's fan since I can remember. In my opinion this is THE BEST CHILI you're gonna come across. Their chili is perfect, not overly greasy like most places and it's always served piping hot! The menu keeps expanding which is great since they can accommodate different dietary needs. However I am only there for three things: the chili dog (with just chili, hold the onions and mustard), the chili fries (same way just the chili) and THE CHOCOLATE DOUBLE DIPPED FROZEN BANANAS ON A STICK (Large please). The large chili fries are great for sharing. I'm always stuffed after the holy trinity of chili fries, dogs and frozen chocolate dipped bananas. Carney's has been opened forever and I can say they have been so consistent with their food and service. I also love that they have their own parking lot at both locations. The dining experience is a trip. You're literally in an original train! They have added outdoor seating which is great too if it's not too hot outside. The price point is reasonable too, in some respects cheaper than mc Donald's. There is no drive thru, only dine in or to go. What I've noticed is that each person who enters Carney's has their own favorite from the menu, but I have successfully converted a few non chili fans into Carney's chili lovers! I have introduced Carney's to super crazy high class people who aren't into this kind of food and they full on LOVE Carneys and are regulars now. read more

Hello all I have been passing by this place for a long time and I finally had a chance to go in. I am disappointed in eating at Carneys. I haven't had a terrible chili cheeseburger in a long time. Cool ambiance and very good chilli burger. I'd say the chilliburger is pretty darn close to my all-time favorite Tommy's. The ambiance of the place is cool (old train car). My only criticism is the service is smile-less (the lady at the register was very grumpy) and the fries are pretty thin and unsalted - in this regard Tommys wins hand down. The good took 20 minutes and the fryers were cold. Half way through my hot dog I noticed mold on the bun.

It was really fun to bring my son to a train car, he was super excited. So that part was great. The food was not.. sadly. I know it's a popular place. The fries were very basic. Many other customers had ordered, eaten and left. My friends needed to leave and I was dependent on them for a ride, so I asked for mine to go.
