Hi my wife and I had dinner Saturday evening 2-8-25 at Carrabba's location in Lutz/Suncoast Pkwy FL. We just moved to the Tampa FL area. We used to live in the Atlanta GA area and have eaten at Carrabba's for about 15 years. The food experience tonight was not good at all. Our server was very good and attentive and I would say above-average to excellent service but the food was not good at all. Very disappointing. Ultimately no matter how great the server and service that he or she provides is-----if the food is bad then that ruins the evening and the dining out experience. My Chicken Parmesan tasted like it was cooked from frozen chicken patties and was not appetizing and made me sick afterwards and I was sick and up all night. My wife had the Chicken Bryan which is what she usually gets and she said it was nowhere as good as it usually is compared to the locations we have eaten at in Atlanta and she also said it was luke warm and not hot. Also she noted that the Chicken soup seemed to be alot blander and lacked the typical seasoning and punch that it usually has. My wife also got sick from the food after getting home. I can tell you that in all the years we have gone to Carrabba's in the past we have left feeling very satisfied and feeling like we can't wait to go back again. I went in for lunch and was greeted by a large glass bowls of toothpicks (see pic). They were not individually wrapped - just sort a dive on in and grab and toothpick. I humorously voiced my disgust with the host and they laughed and agreed. It was empty - I ordered a steak salad - I had a meeting so the promptness of the food coming was perfect. I ordered the steak medium - pretty easy right. It came medium - but very very chewy. They probably didn't let the steak rest a bit - or maybe it was laying around. Even with the rush of snow birds filling the place up they kept there composure. I ordered the Italian trio to try a bit of everything, spicy lentil soup, and stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. So here's the thing.. I feel like if you've made a 6:30 reservation, you should be sat at like, 6:30/6:40 at the latest. Apparently, 7:35 was the standard for this branch of Carrabbas. Yes, we were given two free appetizers, how kind, mind you, one was a calamari that no one asked for and basically no one ate, as we were a group of non seafood and gluten free individuals. On top of that, the service was mid, at least 50% of the things we had asked for were forgotten, and frankly, the food was not worth the wait. Yes it's a Friday night, I understand they cannot control how busy they are, but this was a seriously annoying and underwhelming experience. Not returning. read more

We always enjoy our regular dinners at this location. I have been to 2 of their Monthly wine pairing dinner events and its amazing. The wines are very well paired and the menu very thoughtfully planned out. Service is amazing and the ambiance they put into the decor and table setting make you feel you are somewhere far away from the rest of the dining room. They give you information regarding each dish and wine. Its a 4 course meal and each course is more delicious and enjoyable then the last. These are full portions and yes you can take home whatever you can't finish. They take special note of any allergies and substitute nicely. Carrabba's reminds me of an upscale Olive Garden in all the best ways. The bread and olive oil combo was delicious, our side salads were huge, I ordered Caesar and loved it. The meal I ordered wasn't particularly memorable but I ordered based on calories (big mistake lol but it's listed right there!). Mine had rigatoni and sausage, I had plenty of leftovers that I didn't eat. We also ordered the calamari which was yummy to share. The food and service was just absolutely amazing! My son and I dined in shortly after lunch with no waiting. The hostess was very friendly and asked if we had a seating preference. We had two amazing servers (Breanna & Lily) with one in training. I was a little disappointed the $6 take home promotion was eliminated, so we opted for the $10 take home instead for equal or less value of entrées ordered while dining-in. I ordered the salmon with spinach, and my son ordered shrimp Alfredo which is referred in a different name on the menu. Everything was amazing! Food was served hot and drinks never empty. Thanks to the drink refill team like a pit crew at the Daytona 500! The restaurant manager (Robert) even stopped by to ensure our service and dining needs were being met. I gave him much praise of everything mentioned above and much more. He even provided my son (15 year old) with some words of wisdom when he's ready to start working.
