Carrabba's is one of the better Italian chain restaurants in town. Their rosé sangria is hands down the best I've ever had. We've stopped in for happy hour several times, and every appetizer and small plate we've tried has been delicious. We've also attended their wine dinners, which are an incredible value. For about $65, you get a generous amount of food and wine, and the experience is always enjoyable. The management team is fantastic, and while our experiences with servers have varied, they've been positive more often than not. The crowd tends to be a bit older, which makes for a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. It's a great spot if you're looking for a peaceful dinner without a lot of noise. Carrabba's 2/2/26. -/- Today we enjoyed an early dinner with my parents on this unusually warm Groundhog Day 2026 :-D. They were not busy at all at this early Monday afternoon time so no waiting time. We met Reem again and I am so glad because she is delightful :-) We all decided to have chicken and also took advantage of the $10 take home offer which is happening right now and is a great deal. We took home another chicken dish to have for lunch tomorrow at such a great price. The seasonal menu is about to change in a week or so. I'm glad we had a chance to try the Gnocchi Caprese. It was savory and sweet...just the right amount to not fill me up too much. We usually have salmon but there were none available ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so it was a good time to give a try to the chicken entrees. Went to Carrabba's for a girls Christmas dinner during the week, so it wasn't packed at all. Our server was kind and attentive, and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the Chicken Bryan with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and a house salad. The chicken was perfectly juicy, topped with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes and the mashed potatoes were incredibly soft with just the right amount of seasoning. Our server mentioned that the house salad dressing is made in house and it was so good that I wanted extra dressing with every bite. The meal was so delicious that I now order it for delivery on Uber Eats whenever I can and I've even gotten my husband hooked on it lol On a recent delivery order, we added the Sogno di Cioccolato for dessert and wow! if you love chocolate, you will absolutely devour this dessert. The only reason I'm giving this experience four stars instead of five is because the restaurant had a special where you could take the same dish home at a discounted price, and we weren't offered it. I stopped by for dinner with my family on a Sunday evening. Quite a bit of time had passed since my last visit, but I always had a good experience on my prior visits. Although we had a reservation we still had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The dining area looked a lot different than what I remembered. It seemed to have a more open feel to it. Our waiter soon stopped by to take our drink orders. I started off with a house salad. For my main course, I had the rigatoni martino. There was a generous amount of pasta, and the sausage was nicely flavored. I enjoyed my visit as it measured up to my past experiences. Sorry to say I used to love Carrabba's I went there recently and they destroyed the menu no veal meals whatsoever what's an Italian restaurant without Veal. Chicken parmesan was dry and expensive made no sense veal was great when they used to have it and now they don't the wife does not like the medsaluna portion was small and bland. Service was okay but if you don't have what you want who cares . From the last time we came to this exact location, we were hopeful for another great customer experience. It was a total disaster, and we've been frequent guests not at this particular location but of Carrabba's Italian Grill for 20+years. #1-I called in to be put on a waitlist and always ask for a booth. We arrived and see an empty booth, but it wasn't ours. They ended up seating us at a table. That booth was vacant for 20mins. That tells me the person wasn't even in the restaurant. #2- the waitress K. didn't greet us, and went straight to asking for our order. #3- she never gave us our utensils when our appetizer came out. We asked 2 other waiters, still nothing. My husband and the table infront of us had to go the hostess podium to ask for several sets. #4- she never came to refill our water and soda. #5- the whole restaurant staff must be new. They were surprised about the spedino topped steak. Remember we've been coming here for over 20+years. #6- the atmosphere has changed since the last time. No customer service at the front desk. Expensive lunch and waiter who was not good. The chicken was tough and hard to chew. Spaghetti was okay. The waiter brings me a tiny styrafoam container to take home the food left on my plate. I asked if they had plastic, he lied and said they were out of them. Then he brings me 2 plastic boxes...why did he have to lie and be an asshole about this?? We decided to go here on a whim, it was early so they weren't busy yet and there was plenty of seating, it is a large space with lots of tables. We liked the complimentary bread and olive oil with seasons/ garlic dipping sauce. My husband got the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken it was good but he felt there were too many noodles for the smaller amount of sauce and chicken. I got the wings, they were a little too crispy on the exterior abut had really good flavor. Overall, good experience. read more

I would put zero stars if that was an option!! We called ahead to make a reservation they said they don't take reservations just call ahead to put our names on the list so we do that about 15-20 mins before arriving but when we get there they say the time doesn't start until we get there . We stay anyway cause we had a party of 16 with half already on their way. Long story short we ended up waiting 2 hours, about 1 hour in we asked to speak to the manager because the hostess said it would only be 45mins-1hour and we saw a large come in after us and get sat right away and guess what the manager said, "they called ahead yesterday!" I was like that's the very definition of a reservation and you said y'all don't take reservations. Then we finally get sat and after all that the food was horrible!! No flavor, and just overall not good!! Olive Garden is 10X better!! The only decent thing was our waiter saved the evening he did his best and we appreciated him! But seriously I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! read more

Went Monday, July 21, 2025 about 1:15pm with my Mom and a friend. Restaurant was clean and our server was friendly and accommodating. My friend had crab cakes and roasted vegetables. My Mom got the Four cheese and sausage stuffed mushrooms and I got the Steak Marsala sandwich. Everything was tasty. The mushrooms were stuffed nicely and very good. We were greeted with attention and care, our server, Journey, provided exceptional service above anything we could expect--even at a busy time. We wondered, who is the chef?? The food was expertly prepared! I am always in search of a good bolognese/meat sauce; I rarely find it. This time it was as good as a bolognese that I had at an Italian restaurant in New York! I was so excited to come back to Carrabbas. We have not been here in a while. We did the wait list thinking that it would be crowded. It wasn't and now we see why. The service was fine (not great). The food was fair. I used to love the Spiedino di Mare. The scallops and shrimp were small. The overall taste was fine (not great) We ordered the alfredo for a side ($2.99 extra). It was fair also. We ate at Carrabba's on IH10 in San Antonio and it was very disappointing. We went early and all of the patrons were jammed together and 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. I understand grouping people for the servers but it would have been much more pleasant to have a little space between us and other parties. I have never had bad food at this place but my rigatoni was terrible -- dry and totally tasteless. All in all, a very bad experience. read more

I haven't been to Carrabba's for at least 15 years. Today I picked up the Shrimp Scampi trio. When I got home, I unpacked everything and was very surprised to find out that the shrimp scampi was in a cup size type paper cup/bowl. There was no linguine or any type of pasta included. It seems like a soup scampi instead. They gave me toasted bread and regular sliced bread. I got the garden salad and the small container of dressing wasn''t completely filled so it was not nearly enough to compliment the salad. My wife and I went to see a matinee of My Fair Lady at the Tobin today. We planned on stopping somewhere to eat on the way home. Neither one of us could think of a place, so I just kept driving on I-10 instead of heading home on 410. We used to hit that area a lot, but didn't really know what was there now. That's when we saw the sign for Carraba's, which used to be a favorite place years ago. In fact, the last time we went, our boys were 5 and 10 years old. They are 29 and 34 now. We were seated in the main dining room quickly. It was a little chilly, as a cold blast of wind flew at us every time the door opened. But, we didn't let that bother us. Just a warning to others- dress warm and leave your jackets on. Our server was a young man named Chris C. He was fantastic and had all the skills I want: good knowledge of the menu, able to tell what swaps we could make, got the order 100% correct, and was very polite in an authentic way. Y'all know I have a thing for good servers. They make or break my dining experience. If I don't like the server, I won't be back no matter how good the food is. Carraba's got it right hiring Chris. Both of us had pretty much the same thing. We each had the Pollo Rosa Maria. It was described on the menu as "Wood-grilled chicken stuffed with fontina cheese and prosciutto, then topped with mushrooms and our basil lemon butter sauce." I got mine with penne pomodoro and the house salad. My wife had truffled french fries and the house salad with hers. Chris also brought us two loaves of bread to dip in seasoned olive oil. The salads came out first. We both liked them. Everything was cut small, but not chopped. The dressing was a creamy parmesan with a lemony taste. It was really nice. The bread was hot, super moist, and chewy- exactly what you want with Italian food. We pretty much devoured those two loaves and laughed in Chris' face when he asked if we wanted more. My wife told him we would just keep eating it, and didn't really need that much bread in our lives. When he asked about dessert, I told him we would just say the bread had been our dessert. The chicken was very tasty. I liked the tang of the basil lemon sauce in conjunction with the taste of char from the grill. The chicken tasted good, although it was a tad overcooked. Eaten with all the parts in a bite (mushroom, chicken, cheese, and prosciutto), it was really delicious. I was wishing we had asked for more bread to mop up that wonderful sauce. My wife enjoyed the truffle fries. I enjoyed the penne pomodoro. The penne was very basic, got me thinking I would want to make that at home. The pomodoro was just pure unadulterated tomato sauce, without too much seasoning to hide the ripe flavor of the tomatoes. I'm glad we stopped in today. Hopefully it won't be another 20+ years before we get back. The problem with San Antonio is that we have a plethora of great restaurants with two or three new ones opening up every week! Food was cold. The waiter was busy talking with the hostess and forgot he had customers. When the food was finally brought by another man, it was cold!! The waiter came back and took the chicken Marsala and said he would bring a new piece of chicken and he brought back the same piece we gave him. Who warms up chicken?? That's a big no especially after you said you would bring a new piece. Now I know why the restaurant is lacking customers, the prices have increased tremendously and the quality has declined tremendously. Never again!! read more

Late lunch at Carabba's since I had a gift card. I had the Salmon Capperi with parmesan truffle fries. The very small piece of salmon was tasty but undercooked. The fries were smothered with parmesan but no truffle or sauce anywhere around. Companion had the Chicken Marsala with garlic mashed potatoes and said it was no different than OG. Salad was smothered in a creamy dressing that my companion did not like. Chicken soup was good and just a bit spicy. We took chicken parmigiana home for $10; it was decent. After Jazz concert this Friday night, we found ourselves hungering for Italian fare. It had been a number of years since we visited Carrabba's, and the experience had been positive. So we elected to visit anew. Found on Interstate 10, plenty of parking is found fronting and left and right of the eatery. We visited at close to 9:00PM, seated directly without reservation. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, and we began our evening with the beloved aperitif: dirty martini. Excellent! Marjan chose the Chicken Marsala, served over angel hair pasta. The chicken is grilled over wood stove, and covered with mushrooms, and dressed in their Lombardo Marsala wine. The sauce is rather neutral in flavor, unlike the sweeter Marsala that we have used to prepare our home version. But we found the flavor satisfying. Sided with the entree: Caesar salad. I chose the Salmon Capperi, the finned protein dressed with roasted tomatoes, capers and lemon sauce. Delicious! I chose the offered soup as my side. We found the experience satisfying, with excellent wait service, and prompt delivery of our orders. Marjan rated the restaurant 4 origami boots, and we will gladly return to further explore the menu! I came in to carrabbas this Saturday to enjoy my anniversary with my husband. I have always loved the food here but after this day I have decided to no longer return. We walked in around 6 P.M and were greeted by the African American hostess with long braids. I was shocked to see that her eyes were barely open making it seem like she was on some dr**s.
