Our waitress was extremely friendly and engaging; she stayed attentive and was quick to answer any questions and service our table. Food-wise, everyone was happy with their order. I love the chicken and pasta dishes but their desserts lack the quality that I expect from this restaurant. The Tiramisu is meh, don't really taste the alcohol and have gotten better at a local pizza restaurant. Same goes for the cannolis and Italian cream cake. Blah, blah, blah. Sorry guys, it's the truth. Restaurant is pricey but food there is worth it as long as you are not getting dessert. They have great Blackberry sangria that is a must have if you like sangria. The Strawberry Lemonade is also a good choice when you want a change of pace but I don't recommend getting it is you are getting anything with tomato sauce, flavors don't mesh at all. We stopped here for lunch one day, we always pass by and talk about how delicious we remember it to be so we finally stopped. Maybe we have both just grown and have had so many delicious meals that Carrabbas just isn't as great as we remembered. It was ok, service was not bad although the host did not say hi at all when we entered and we just stood there for several minutes until she actually looked up and acknowledged us. Drinks were ok we ordered an Italian old fashioned and I got some drink with tequila, they were ok. We also ordered the appetizer that had calamari, fried cheese and stuffed mushrooms, again everything was ok. My boyfriend ordered the chicken Parmesan and said it was over cooked. I ordered the chicken trio with Alfredo and I enjoyed the two that were not the Marsala. We got a tiramisu togo, needless to say we would not return here again. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly, and the service was prompt the entire evening. It was shared with me that this truthful review of 2nd disappointing dining experience at Carrabba's was too long and emotion-filled. Or table did not have a pleasant experience. Disappointing in this used to be our go to steak place. Thankfully there are so many fabulous places to eat in the Clear Lake area where food is prepared as ordered and not a surly manager in sight. Bless their hearts...the hostess did not appear to be happy, our waiter was overwhelmed, and the manager was rude. Others have said they have the same complaint about this particular manager. The filets were not prepared as ordered. The Chicken Bryan was rubbery and fatty. The broccoli was mushy and over-cooked. The manager did not handle our steaks being ill-prepared well and snatched my plate away when I was going to take my steak to finish cooking it properly at home. It was pretty shocking and I did not know what to say. Made a fun gathering of friends an awful night. To end on a positive note...the mashed potatoes were good. What happened? Seriously, what happened to my formerly favorite spot for Italian food? The only bright spot was our very good waitress. Her runner brought us the wring drinks so we waited 10 minutes with no drinks and no bread, then our waitress noticed and dashed over with drinks. Bread finally came, half raw, no serving plates. Veal piccata was drowned in sauce, fries were lukewarm and drowned in parmesan with no hint of truffle. The veal looked and tasted like a TV dinner. My husband said his scallops were "awful" - his word, not mine. Vinaigrette dressing was almost all vinegar. Entrees came with a side -- but each side except mashed potatoes was an upcharge, so not included at all. At least the ice cream tasted good. The restroom was filthy, with plugged and unflushed toilets, cracked tiles, paper on the floor... We won't be back any time soon. Too bad, because this was our go-to spot for years. read more

This review is based on a visit on Sunday, March 28, 2021. I'll start with the good. Our server, Alexander, was awesome. Ask for him. This review starts with a visit about a year ago. The day before restaurants were about to be shut down in March of 2020 my family and a friend's family went to Carrabba's for a last hurrah before not being able to go to a restaurant for "a few weeks" due to this COVID 19 pandemic thing. Social distancing was quickly becoming a thing. I think it was a Tuesday and the restaurant was empty. At that time Carrabba's had all of the customers seated in a small cluster with a mostly empty restaurant. Pointing this out to the manager on duty did absolutely nothing as they continued to seat everyone close together. We even saw customers ask for a more separated table as they were being seated. I have forgiven this visit as this was the start of what was to come for the next year. Fast forward to March 28, 2021. I have been in very few restaurants in the past year. The same friend's family suggested that we go to Carrabba's on a Sunday. We decided to go to an early dinner at 4 PM to avoid any crowds, as we have been in the midst of this pandemic for over a year now. Once again, the restaurant was not very crowded. And once again all of the customers were being sat at tables right next to each other with about half of the restaurant completely empty. We complained to the welcome desk and they blamed it on how their table management software works. They did not offer to move us. Our server, Alexander, came to our table and we mentioned this to him. He quickly acted on his own and moved us to a more empty part of the restaurant. So any positive in this review is completely due to him. He was awesome from start to end! To top this off, Carrabba's has big signs at their front door talking about masking and following CDC guidelines, which clearly, they are not. There was no effort to space the customers out. I'm sorry, but we are more than a year into this pandemic. You don't get to blame your software for not being able to space your customers out in your restaurant. And you can't tell me that you didn't know any better at this point. There are no more restrictions in Texas so I understand that there are no obligations any more, but that does not mean you don't make any effort before the restaurant fills at peak hours. There are plenty of really good, local Italian restaurants in the Clearlake region. Based on this visit and my visit one year ago, I won't be back at Carrabba's anytime soon. We felt bad for coming in late, so we were trying to order, eat, and get out as quickly as possible. However, our waiter, Tyler, was very welcoming and hospitable. The manager & our server made amends with some items on our check. We thought that was very fair That was that, & we were satisfied, but turned out the mussels ordered & eaten, made me ill the next day. I work from home, so got through the work day, paid, but not fun. As soon as I realized why I got ill, hubby called to advise. I'm sure our experience was a one time thing. I love the Amore Monday menu. I've been coming here on Mondays to get the speidino di mare which is scallop and shrimps in lemon sauce. With this promotion, you get a three course dinner. You get to pick from soup or salad. Then any entree on the menu and either an appetizer or dessert. This is what I usually get. Chicken soup Calamari, tiramisu, or cannoli Speidino DI mare. Yum. I went again and wanted to share the delicious discoveries. For appetizers I always get the calamari which was mouth watering, I also tried the mussels in white wine sauce today. I was not disappointed. It was good, better than I had expected but definitely not the most amazing mussels in white wine sauce I have ever tasted in my life. This is one of our favorite Italian chain restaurants. We really like this location. We have always had good service and the food always seems fresh. Many times, the portions are large enough to split. You can sit at the bar and order and avoid the wait. Speaking of waiting, the wait here varies. Even during prime weekend evenings, the wait doesn't seem too long. On a side note, pay close attention to the art work. The photographs on the wall are photos of doors. The frames displaying those photos are made from the doors that are in the photograph. Pretty cool. read more

I walked in the front door and told the hostess I wanted to sit at a table the first thing she did was take me to a booth. I informed her that I wanted a table so she finally took me to a table. Waiter comes out, takes my drink order and my appetizer and runs off. A second waiter brought my drink. I waited for 12 minutes before my waiter came back. When he came out, it's because he had to bring my appetizer which was calamari. It was 75% breading ridiculous. Then another waiter brought my salad. The waiter who brought my salad hasn't even left my table yet and they brought my main dish shrimp Alfredo. I finished my appetizer and my salad. So by the time I got to the shrimp Alfredo, all the pasta was stuck together in one giant clump. So I had to cut my pasta with a fork to eat it. The shrimp had zero seasoning. I never finished my main entrée because it was one note or one flavor the whole way through. It was bad. And I had unsweet iced tea. I had to wave down the waiter and the other waiters multiple times to get a refill. When my waiter brought me my check, I put a $50 bill in it because my total bill was like $42. He comes running back over to the table to take the check. I told him he didn't need to, but I think he understood the poor service and the shitty food. It was served to me that if he didn't take that check, I might dine and dash because I was treated so poorly and serve such shitty food. read more

To be honest was a breathe of fresh air compared to the usual delivery service drivers as they were extremely professional. I ordered an extra side of asparagus and broccoli since we had a few extra people coming, but the family meal deal is really a great bargain, I'll definitely do it again. Never got bread and they never even offered. Finally had to try and speak up several times to even place an order as they never asked. Had to ask for additional drinks. Very disappointed with these service. It's been about a month since we came last. Last time different employees and no issues. I chalk this up to bad management. Train your staff.
