We love watching it, but it was so loud we almost couldn't talk. Took 10 minutes to get water. We asked for extras when she came back with them since we knew she wouldn't be back soon. She said sure, but never brought them. We ordered our 2 meals (one of them vegan) a Diet Coke, and a Bloody Mary. Neither the Soda nor water got refilled, and she brought the meat version of the vegan breakfast. It didn't taste right so we finally flagged down a server to ask, and she sent out server over. She offered to take the meat mistake off the bill that she made, but the bill was $30 for a $12 breakfast, a soda and a Bloody Mary. Obviously the math wasn't mathing, but we just needed to leave before we asked for a printout of our bill, and asked to talk to a manager. We are so disappointed. The Handlebar has been our "go to" where we can get reliable vegan food and eat with Omni friends. Obviously, that trust is gone now.

As for the food and service, it was a little all over the place. Our server seemed pretty flustered the whole time. I ordered a Diet Coke and the upstairs machine wasn't working. The first one that was brought out was incredibly flat. The second one was from the machine downstairs, and it wasn't great but it was drinkable. My friends got coffee and said it was good. They have $2 mimosas. They are definitely a smaller size but good for the price!! The food took a long time to come out and there were a few things missing. We also had a couple mimosas we ordered that were initially forgotten but brought after the second or third ask. The food itself was just meh. It's dive bar food. The potatoes were amazing though!! The chili oil drizzle was nice but did not add the kick in spice we were hoping for, the mashed potatoes and gravy were pleasant however the meat part of that dish tasted so dense, it was difficult to finish. With the loud DJ set on the first floor, large groups of 22 year olds on the patio, and the food and drinks being alright, I feel like the idea of Gracie's is better than some nights actually there.

Pork was not dry, the shave cucumber salad was oddly addicting and added a nice flavor profile to the pork, and the garlic rice was slightly crunchy as if it was fried. One thing that I didn't enjoy was that the seat (made of some sort of fabric material?) smelled a bit like urine. I was lucky enough to dine with someone who was willing to share, which gave me the chance to try both the Cuban and the Grilled Chicken sandwich. The grilled chicken wasn't listed on the printed menu. It appeared only on the online menu, but was being offered as the special of the day. Of the two, the Cuban was the clear winner. The flavor combination of meats and dairy fats made it hard to compare the sandwiches head-to-head. Every bite was satisfying, and the richness worked exactly as intended. The grilled chicken sandwich had its own appeal, but it felt a little busy. Between the piquillo pepper cheese and the bacon jam, there was a lot competing for attention. It was still enjoyable, just not as cohesive as the Cuban. For a side, I chose the clam chowder instead of the fries or salad. The chowder was decent, but it wasn't a dockside shack in Boston Harbor or something from a family recipe. I missed the deep, rich texture that comes from a buttery roux.
