    Baked oysters.

Do yourself a favor and check this place out! It's new to Old Mandeville, and absolutely worth your time. "Elevated seafood" is a perfect description of their vibe. Wife and I went for a date night tonight (a Saturday night). Restaurant was busy, but they were able to accommodate our last-minute reservation in their downstairs dining room. The food was excellent! For apps, we ordered the soup of the day (cream of cauliflower & lump crab), baked oysters, and firecracker shrimp. Our entrees were the redfish piccata and seafood stuffed bell peppers. Definitely recommend all of those dishes; we weren't disappointed by any of them. You can tell the seafood is really fresh. The smoked old fashioned (I think it's called Smoky Grains on the cocktail menu) was a nice extra touch too. Our server, Claire, was great... and the general manager, Kevin, checked on us several times as well. We'll definitely be back.

We went to Carson's Table the first week it was open and let me just say that even for just being open we were blown away by everything. The attentiveness that the whole staff showed us was very impressive for a new team. The food was so delicious and full of flavor it was honestly one of my top experiences on the Northshore! Our favorite dish was the fried artichokes. The upstairs has a beautiful mural painted and at night it can feel very romantic to see the sunset from the window.

Less than what I expected in every way. Topping off my disappointment was the tiny 2 ounce wine pour. Not going back.

When we arrived for our Wednesday 7pm reservations, the hostess was on the phone. She never looked…read moreover at us to even motion that she saw us. Then at least three servers walked by us and didn't make any eye contact nor did the bartenders who also saw us waiting. For a restaurant that says on their website, "we may be casual, but our service is upscale," we didn't get that feeling. The manager came by and then checked is in for our reservations and took us to a table. The hostess then wished us a nice meal. Luckily, our server Regan saved the day with exceptional service. She was friendly, attentive, and personable. Regan would accompany the guy dropping off the food to let us know the rest of the food was coming or just to check that we received what we ordered. Our appetizers came and we were given enough time to enjoy then before our entrees arrived, our plates were cleared, and our drinks were full. To begin the meal we drinks. Then we shared the BBQ Shrimp (GF minus the Cornbread and French Bread), Gumbo, Shrimp & Corn Bisque (GF), and Wedge Salad (GF). The BBQ Shrimp were cooked just right and had a great sauce. The salad was a good size loaded with tomatoes, cheese, and bacon. Then I had a 14 oz Ribeye medium rare to accompany my Dirty Martini. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. My son enjoyed the BBQ Shrimp Pasta while my husband really liked his Etouffee Empanadas. The Blackened Scallops with Lobster Risotto looked delicious and my brother in law enjoyed it. My mother in law shared a few of the dozen Charbroiled Oysters she had for her entree. They were plump and juicy with great flavor. We ended the evening with Dragonfruit Sorbet, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Creme Brulee, and of course an Espresso Martini. We enjoyed the Creme Brulee that was crunchy with big pieces of sugar that were browned with a torch. Both the sorbet and ice cream were also really good. Regan and the food made up for the disappointing start to the meal.

We had a great…read moreexperience at the bar downstairs with great, affordable drinks, but we were unable to order food so we decided to go upstairs to grab a bite to eat. We sat outside because it was a gorgeous day and decided to we wanted to try the charbroiled oysters. We ordered a full dozen to spilt between 2 of us. When we received the oysters it was nice that they split the oysters on 2 separate plates for us. The oysters were super tiny. They may have been a little overcooked which could have caused them to shrink, regardless, they should have either mentioned that the oysters are running small or not charge full price ($26). They tasted "ok", we've had better. We expect much more from a "Gallagher" restaurant. We will be back since we love the atmosphere and drinks, but we won't be getting the oysters!
