This place is a hidden gem for dinner- it's OMG good- we went on a business meeting and everyone loved theirs- the place has character- it's an actual old cart barn and there's still a driving range next to it. Famous local pros memorabilia lines the walls so lots of history- it's a dive but that only adds to the character I had lobster and it was the best I've had even though I special ordered mine- great salad and zucchini and asparagus- all grilled It's brown bag so go prepared- Only thing missing is background music but the food and character make up for it for sure! read more

By far my favorite burger place in Lagrange Georgia. There isn't much to do here but if you are passing by this is a place to visit. However, little disappointing is their time. Wish they would open longer and on the weekends. Besides that the food is great. The place got its name from what it used to be, a golf driving range. It still is but the green is mostly dirt now. The restaurant is dimly lit, the odor of burger grease lingers in the air. Pictures of famous golfer and golf gear hung along the grease stained walls. Small dining area with an open kitchen. STOP IT! You really cannot tell a good restaurant by its cover! Normally this place wouldn't jump out at anyone, but too many locals told me that it was an amazing place and they had killer burgers - so this Yelper HAD to check it out! The burger was AMAZING no question about it. The fries - top notch - only problem is - malt vinegar has not made it to the south for fries and these fries would have been PERFECT for it! Price and parking were both great - server was friendly, speed was on target, but the place looks a mess from the outside and the inside isn't too much better. Went out for a motorcycle ride today and previously saw good reviews for this location, so added it to my route as a lunch stop. Walked inside and saw only a few customers, about eight, all of whom had their meal, except for one group of two gentlemen. Waited about 15 minutes to be acknowledged, but no one bothered. No, "We'll be right there," or anything. I think the staff were too busy chatting amongst themselves to notice. I got up, used the restroom, walked out and got back on the motorcycle. I walk in to stares... immediatly followed by smiles and welcomes. Its a place food enthusiast seek and locals gravitate to. Prices are fantastic for the quality food. $8.95 for a HUGE bacon cheddar cheeseburger (meat ground in house), with a super size serving of delicious made from scratch fries and a delicate, bright flavored coleslaw. It was so good we had to make this a destination for the return trip to taste the refined dinner menu. Grilled lobster tail, filet mignon, halibut stuffed with a crab cake (WHAT?! did you read that... go ahead read it again). The Hailbut/Crabcake won out over the Tail for me. So fresh, so delicious. We chose this place because of the Yelp reviews. It was an excellent choice! We asked for recommendations and was told that the crab cakes and fried shrimp were exceptional - so we ordered that along with a red snapper fillet. The salads were good and cold. The crab cakes were delicious and had a nice sauce on them. The shrimp were huge and battered in a light beer batter with a side of spicy cream sauce. The snapper had lump crab and a couple of grilled shrimp on top with a great sauce. The sides were a delicious skin on mashed potato and some grilled asparagus and squash. A delicious meal with exceptional service. The place is bring-your-own-bottle. It looks a little rough, but inside is clean and neat with a 100 rating from the health department. My second visit here but my wife's first time. My neighbor brought me here for lunch and it was really good but he said to make sure I come either Thursday or Friday night for fish. We decided to stop in for dinner on Friday. We got there around 5:25 (they open at 5:30) and there are already 4 couples waiting to get in. Fish was great! OMG Great. The wife had a Triple tail fish that was out of this world. I had an Alaskan Halibut. Also very good. The inside decor and the parking lot are very deceiving as to what you will get inside. The parking lot is gravel but don't let that stop you from going inside. This place is the best around. I drive 30 miles from Newnan to eat here. Well worth the drive. read more

WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?!??! never in my life would I have considered stopping here to eat lunch - the outside resembles an outdated pool hall/bar/driving range and don't get me started on the inside - but all this just added to the experience - upon walking in i find business men, farmers, and average guys just chowing down - at 11:30 the place was packed for lunch I ordered a cheddar bacon burger and the meat was fresh but under flavored - the fries and slaw were fantastic - i'll be back to try something different and maybe they can earn the elusive 5th star overall if you're in the area then stop by and experience cart barn grille read more

My family and I waited an hour to try the Cart Barn for the first time tonight. After being seated, my son spotted a large roach crawling up the wall and onto the ceiling. All of a sudden it dropped down into my wife's lap. She jumped up and was trying to get it off and all the server could do was say "oh my gosh. Gross" as we walked out to our car, the hostess was leaving and said "I'm sorry. Ewwww". I know there are bugs in the south but having a roach dangle from the light and fall in your lap leaves me wondering just how unsanitary this place is. At least they comped the water. Worth the wait. This place is a hidden gem. The wait is pretty long so i would suggest getting there early. This place does not serve alcohol, but you are more than welcome to bring your own wine to enjoy. Will keep that in mind if Im ever in the area again. Enjoyed the food immensely. Please read all for fairness. Very interesting place. The portions are very large and home made and some things appeared as if you were eating fine dinning. Overall the food was good but not spectacular. Menu is lacking in details, example other than cheese what comes on the hamburger, the salad or with the scallop dish? The service is very slow, non personal there were no check backs to see if the food was ok, or if you wanted refills. When the table was cleaned food was flung onto my seat which I had to clean before sitting.You don't get a check at the end of the meal (no one told us). The place was packed by mostly locals and everyone seamed to know each other by name. The bathroom had huge Cobb webs spiders, no soap and a garbage can about to run over ...Yet they got 100 on thier food score yet the overall place is dirty. The person scrapping food into the lined garabe can did not wear gloves and carried out the clean dishes and cups. Its a popular place with the locals. Took the kid today at lunch to try the best damn burger around, he agreed with absolutely not a bite left on his plate! I ventured out of my normal blackened chicken salad box because the house Green Goddess dressing is AMAZING and got the Shrimp Po Boy, I could have drank the remoulade sauce for it out of the cup! The shrimp had the absolute most perfect batter and crunch for the sandwich I hate they are being swallowed up by progress, things like this shouldn't change! If you haven't tried this place, DO IT NOW before it's too late!! This was my first visit. I asked a lady as she was leaving how she enjoyed the meal. She said it was great and recommend the Blackened Chicken Salad. It was very good. My co-worker had the Shrimp Po Boy,,, also good reviews. The lunch time was very busy. We had about 10-15 wait. Servers were friendly and made recommendations on lunch items. It's been a bad foody week for me, so i'm gonna give these guys a pass tonight... the caribbean snapper was fair... cooked almost perfect, crab meat was cold, as well as the broccoli which was tasteless. i actually had to salt the fish. I was here before and had the cuban, and from a cuban background i can say it was a hit for me. fries were cut right in front of you and were just that fresh. I give this place an A for effort, but they lose a star for cold food and lack of seasoning. My dinner companion said he'd had that dish before several times and it was much better before. Locals love this place, but I'm not sure why. The food is good, but not great and definitely not worth the price. The restaurant is a converted golf house for a driving range with little change. It looks dirty on the inside too. The food is kind of upscale, but the ambiance completely ruins it. I only eat here reluctantly when friends drag me along. read more

Went to the cart barn for a rehearsal dinner it was so good though all the staff there was so nice I got a Ribeye it was cooked to perfection and I definitely told him I would be back there when I came back into La Grange you will not be disappointed when you go there there was we could've gotten a red snapper or mahi-mahi but all the food was delicious mashed potatoes everything was good and most of all the hospitality was great. read more

This place was busy and had everything from lobster tails and steaks to burgers. I had their burger and it was excellent but all the food I saw looked really great. The service has gone from bad to worse. Waited 5 minutes after I got to my table to get a menu. Got the soup of the day (crab bisque ) and it was just barely above room temperature. I did what I almost never do and sent it back (I ain't taking chances with a cream based seafood soup). They grabbed it and took it away, no comment, no visit from the owner/manager...nothing. And they kept serving the soup to others...extremely disappointing. The owner did say something to me as I was walking out the door, but it's really too late by then. Sat and waited a couple of minutes to get someone's attention after they brought my entree salad to tell them they never brought me a fork. Helpful hint: they sell sodas in cans only, so do not expect a refill on your $1.75 can of Coke. They seem to be doing well enough to put in a small, tabletop machine. It's annoying And that's the problem with the service issues, they take your focus away from the generally very good food and starts you to wanting to nitpick stuff. I feel like my expectations were high because of the other reviews. It had 5 bud light bottles on the electric meter outside...yes, we wondered if it was safe to go in. We did. You should too. Absolutely a great dinner all around. If you are looking for uppity surroundings keep going but if its great food stop. I only wish I had known it was BYOB. The tuna entree was great and it begged for a nice white wine so bring your own or be willing to pay the guy next to for the bottle of white that you are craving with you meal.
