What I really liked about this purchase was I was able to apply the clean vehicle tax incentive at the point. of sale which means I had to pay out of pocket a much smaller amount. the trade in value was higher than what other dealerships offered and the costs were transparent. no hidden fees. i can see how ordering a car for delivery to your home could be frustrating but I had heard it's been an issue with friends so I bypassed that by going to the "vending machine". read more

I'm quite certain we've all experienced the annoyance of prying an unhealthy snack from an unjustly vending machine. You CAN have a healthy relationship with a vending machine. This time your treat won't get jammed. Instead it will be shiny and swirl around for you on a platform before being delivered to your possession. This treat won't add pounds, but will require more from your pocketbook. It's a neeeeewwwww caaaaarrrr!!! To get this vending machine experience you must first visit online and pick out your favorite car. You can then use Carvana's financing or bring your own. There's two ways to get your new ride - vending machine or delivery. Because I returned my first car, I got to experience both. Both were awesome, Carvana is awesome. However, I have to deduct one star because of the attitude of advocate at the vending machine. She was dry - tumbleweed dry. She didn't welcome me to Carvana, didn't shake my hand, didn't introduce herself. Her energy was completely different from the advocates I spoke with over the phone. There were customers being helped by a different advocate and he was outgoing, professional and awesome. Great experience in selling my car...fast and easy. I didn't believe this could be so easy but it was.

I live downtown in a high rise and recently attempted to sell my car to Carvana. I scheduled a Saturday morning pick up. On Saturday morning I received a text message with their arrival time. Arrival time came and went and no notifications or calls, so I went downstairs to see if anyone was on the street. When I told my doorman that I was expecting Carvana, he laughed and said that another resident attempted to sell their car, but the advocate got lost in our neighborhood and never showed up. Frustrated, I tried calling Carvana and the automated message said they were experiencing higher volumes of calls and to either be put on hold or request a call back, which I selected. After several hours I was able to connect to someone via text and was told that the advocate attempted to call me twice and I didn't answer, so they had to move on to the next appointment. Then I was told that my offer had expired the day prior and I would have to start the whole process over again. After losing the majority of a Saturday, we ended up selling our car to a downtown dealership the same day for just $100 less than what Carvana offered. Selling your car to Carvana may be great if you live in a house or plan to drop off at a location. If you live in a high rise downtown, sell your car elsewhere and save yourself the time and irritation. read more

The entire transaction was carried out very smoothly and quickly. On Saturday I went to their website, gave them some information and after 10 minutes I got an offer. The offer was larger than the dealers' offer and larger than I would have sold to a private person. It was even higher than bluebook value. As I said, the decision was made on Saturday, and on Monday at 5 p.m. Carvana came to pick up the car. After the inspection, I received a check and the car was loaded onto a trailer. Everything took place in a nice atmosphere. I deposited the check in the bank the next day. 24 hours later the check cleared on my account. I highly recommend this company. Birthday present ruined!!! So I bought a car for my daughters bday, to be picked up on December 12th. I get a text and email saying there has been a delay and my car will not be ready until December 19th. I called to see if they have any other cars that are similar that would be ready by the 12th. The rep told me, "I don't know, go check the website". I explained that this was a gift for my daughter if he can check so this doesn't happen again. What a nightmare. If everything does not go PERFECTLY, you are in for an absolute rollercoaster. Went to go pickup my car in Schaumburg, and upon arrival, I was told the battery needed to be swapped. Okay, fine, would've been nice to get a phone call / update about this, but I guess it had to wait until I spent the time driving out to the pickup location. Waited for an hour and a half for them to come out and tell me they needed to order a battery, when they had explicitly told me they were "all hands on deck" working on it. Another hour and a half goes by, they get the battery swapped, go fill it up with gas, and I'm then told the check engine light came on. Wonderful! I'm told they can't release the car to me with the light on, and of course the mechanic they need is not at the facility, so I had to take my trade in back and scheduled a pickup two days out. Oh and I should also mention they had already taken my trade in, so it was a hassle just to get my car back so I could go home. Fast forward 48 hours, I have received almost zero communication that this car is actually ready to be picked up. I'm headed to the pickup facility but feel I should reach out to Carvana support since the manager at Schaumburg ghosted me. Turns out, they accidentally CANCELED my purchase, and now it was in corporate hands to get the purchase rebuilt. Lovely! I was not able to get my new car, so this now marks TWO botched pickups, completely Carvana's fault. I am finally able to pickup my car another 24 hours later. Finally, this nightmare is over, right? LOL Only two days later, the check engine light comes on. The nightmare continues. Now I have to deal with the third party that covers Carvana's 100 day warranty. I get the car looked at by a local mechanic, and they say there are dozens of error codes popping up from the car's computer. I swear to god, the mechanic said "if I were you, I'd give this car back to Carvana". What an AMAZING thing to hear! After another round of support run arounds, I'm told that the original mechanic wasn't certified to diagnose my type of car, requiring me to setup ANOTHER service appointment. Thanks Silver Rock! I still have no idea what's going to happen with this car, but it appears that Carvana sold me a lemon, and their "150 point inspection" is completely bullshit. HOW DID THESE ISSUES NOT SERVICE IN THE CAR'S INSPECTION??? The only remediation Carvana said they could offer was a "$200 credit" -- how insulting. There is a recorded call I had with support where I confirmed my situation would need to be WORSE in order for them to do more for me. I was absolutely mind-blown. They have wasted countless hours of my time dealing with this, no one is accountable, and it completely up to you as the customer drive any action throughout this process. The buy back went fairly smooth. After I submitted my request to sell back my car, but the follow-up was not as smooth. If I hadn't checked (called in) I would have had to start the process all over again. Customer Service was excellent. As I've been unable to get an email address out of this company, I'll post my poor experience publicly. Here's a summary of the complaint I filed with the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department regarding disability discrimination: "My husband, who has ALS, made a deal for us to sell our co-owned car to Carvana so that we can purchase a vehicle that will accommodate his electric wheelchair. Given that he cannot write and considering the difficulty and danger of falling involved in getting him in and out of the car, I went to the 1:20 p.m. car drop-off appointment with my sister and brought a notarized power of attorney authorizing me to act for my husband in all affairs. They refused to accept the POA as company policy, although they accept military POAs, and wouldn't let me complete the transaction. This strikes me as discriminatory toward someone with a severe disability for whom much difficulty would be involved in traveling to their facility. Also, are they not obligated to accept a notarized legal document authorizing me to act on my disabled husband's behalf?" So, a free drop-off turned into an almost $400 charge to have the car picked up at my house after I wasted a two-hour round-trip to Carvana in Schaumburg. Needless to say, I won't be a returning customer (especially after having read the dozens of other 1-star reviews here). read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from Carvana when I entered the market but my father in law purchased a vehicle through Carvana a couple of months ago and said he had a good experience so I gave it a try. He was right. My experience was great. I ended up purchasing a 2021 Kia Sorento SX Prestige that was sent to me via email by Carvana. The price was great so I started the purchasing process as well as the trade in process of a vehicle I owned. The purchase was completed exclusively on my phone in about 30-40 minutes and was very easy. This includes the time it took to organize a trade in with a real offer from Carvana. The offer from Carvana for my vehicle was great - higher than 2 other companies I had reached out to. Delivery was smooth but late. I selected an 8-11am window and the car wasn't delivered until 11:30. 30 minutes is not a big deal but it was a weekday delivery and by the time the delivery process was completed it was about 12:15 meaning it didn't make sense for me to go back to work after like it would have if delivery would have been at 9 or 10. For context I work 5am-2pm. Plus I was notified that the delivery would be late by the driver around 10:55. In short, you should plan to take a whole day for delivery. Also, advertised damage was accurate when the car arrived - every ding had a picture in the app. Lastly, the Carvana interest rates are astronomical. I'd prefer to finance through throughout them for simplicity but the rates are not competitive. Over all it was a great experience and I'll definitely buy my next car through Carvana. Carvana delivers a car, some time around August 20th 2023. - The field associate is up front and explains to me there is damage that happened in transport. He explains that it was Carvana's fault, and that everything will be fixed through Silver Rock. They will be in touch. The damage was to the bumper, above the wheel and on to the quarter panel (all one continuous strike). Carvana will even file the claim with Silver Rock for me, this is great and they are on top of it! I got the following email from Silver Rock - Great! But read on because the story gets interesting. Northwest Hwy Chicago,Illinois 60631 Ok, so I take it in for repairs - they send in pictures of the bumper and the back side scrapes and scratches that Carvana admitted to causing during transportation (thank you for the honesty, at the time) and begin the work. Then the back tracking starts. Silver Rock denies the claim for the work completed above the wheel on the back of the car as well as the side panel (again it was all one strike with scratches on the back of the quarter panel). I did not purchase the car with this damage present. Problem is, the auto body shop has already started the work and they want to be paid. Who wouldn't. So, I contacted Carvana because Silver Rock is telling me I need additional "exemptions" for the work to be approved, Carvana only stated the bumper even though there is damage extending from the bumper on to the back quarter panel. So it's back to Carvana - I'm on a call with them tonight (01/23/24) yes, 5 months from the original claim. Tonight I had a call with Carvana's - "Executive Resolutions Team", they explain to me that while the damage did happen in transport and they are at fault, it is "standards of practice" for a used car so they are not liable for the repairs even though THEY caused the damage in transport and said they would fix it. WHAT?? - So, Carvana will sell you a vehicle, which I purchased under a given condition - but if it's damaged to a certain degree during transportation (remember scratches and scrapes were covered on the original claim) then sorry it's just what happens and Carvana stands by SilverRock's decision to deny the claim?? Now I have the auto body shop telling me I'm on the hook for the repairs which were caused by Carvana and that they are going to send me to collections if they are not paid. Any ideas on what to do? I got a quote from Carvana - it was 30% higher than Carmax and 40% more than my dealer (we were buying a new car. They asked for a photograph of my title, car, and drivers license. I had accurately reported that the car had a minor blemish on the rear bumper and otherwise had one minor accident in the 13 years we owned the car. After receiving the photos, they cut their offer to just slightly above CarMax's. No explaination, even after I asked. To get things done, I went along with the revised quote. I wish that I didn't have to write this review but it's been exhaustive trying to get answers from Carvana; so many hoops to jump through for support as opposed to the 20 minutes it took for me to buy the car online. The vehicle I bought had its tires replaced as part of Carvana's reconditioning prior to the sale but the wrong size tires were used and it is negatively effecting the ride quality. This is clearly a mistake or worse a blatant cost-cutting measure as the larger correct size tires are more expensive. I was told that I need to go through the warranty process which would be leaving my newly purchased car for over a week while the claim was open but with the strong possibility that the claim would be denied because tires aren't covered. I just went through the Chat support (can't seem to speak to a real person) and they said - "I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. I understand how frustrating this situation must be, and I'm doing my best to empathize with your perspective. It doesn't seem fair, and I truly regret any distress this has caused. Unfortunately, we can only address issues related to the condition being poor. In this instance, it would require an out-of-pocket expense. Thank you for your understanding." This is a real safety issue; "The wrong size tire can absolutely be dangerous. Vehicles are designed and then tested for safety and longevity based on specific tire dimensions. Using tires that are too tall or too thin undermine all of the research and development that goes into creating a safe car." Update on 10/07/24: BMW dealership says transfer case failure....so much for that 150 point vehicle inspection. read more

SO the process is amazing if you're tired of pesky sales men at the dealerships, after dealing with so many buying a new car was a nightmare. This is all online at first, super easy, huge note though, they don't take cash, although the website says cash down, I took it literally, lol, so make sure the $$$ down payment is in your account. It takes like 1-2 days to hit. Anyways in less than 30 minutes we had our new Ford Edge, the experience is so much fun & they were super friendly. This is the second time I've used Carvana to sell my car. Each time what stood out were 1) very competitive purchase price; 2) ease of transaction and 3) expedient customer service. Each time they purchased my cars for more than I would have gotten from a dealership. Arranging the transaction online was very easy and understandable. Everything went smoothly and quickly. The day of pick up, the young man who did the inspection and took my keys (and gave me my payment) was very professional and courteous. He kept me informed as to expected time of arrival; when he got here, he explained everything clearly. Now the only thing I am waiting for is to see that my lender has been paid off.
