Carver Brewing is my new favorite restaurant in Durango! It looks like your standard brewery/gastropub, but it excels in all aspects. The service was prompt and professional - no waiting around for water or beers or food even. It was pretty busy when I went and we still got our food in around 10 minutes. I'm a sucker for a Philly cheese steak and Carver's take on it is fantastic. Top 3 I've tried in Colorado! I also tried the wings and they are 9/10. I've been here twice. The first time was amazing. Really great service. Although the second time was pretty bad, Izzy, the bartender would not serve me. I was not intoxicated. She said she had rules about three shots. She couldn't serve anybody more than three shots. Durango has multiple excellent microbreweries. Carver has great beers, great food, and a nice vibe.

Buffalo burgers were delicious!! French fries were unusual in shape and very tasty. It was well worth the wait. read more

Great selection of beers, all house made. The menu was solid, excellent smash burgers and other entrees. My daughter loved the homemade Mac and cheese. Friendly service, even offered samples of their beers when I didn't know which one to get. Very nice atmosphere, booths and tables and plenty of seating. Definitely recommend it! read more

This is my go to, every time. I'm not big on eating out but I will for here and I'm sure take out is an option. I had some veggie sides and fries with some chili and cheese. My partner had the Colorado Mojado which is absolutely amazing!!! I love their lightner creek lager. It's right along the main road and perfect stop while you're browsing or headed through. When in Durango we stopped to get dinner here one evening and boy we were impressed. Our server was very friendly. There's plenty seating indoors and outdoor. Their ginger beer is so delicious. We got the takanka burger with fries and the Oaxaca mole braised beef both of them were outstanding! We got the lava cake with berry puree for dessert. Definitely worth stopping by. read more

We go back here again and again because it's always solid and the service is terrific. It's worth the wait if there aren't tables available (and they usually quote a longer wait than actually occurs, which is great). If you're a beer drinker - their beer is solid and reasonably priced. Sit at the bar and you'll also get stellar service. Food: - wings are spectacular but recommend getting sauce on side for anyone who doesn't like spicy. -pretzel is DELICIOUS and my kid's fave appetizer. -burgers are all terrific and the fries are next level awesome as a side dish. For vegetarians: portobello melt is amazing. For gluten free: tons of options but all burgers can come in a bowl OR with GF bun. -salmon bowl is also super delicious. Everything we've eaten here is terrific and their service is consistently great. Sit on back patio if weather is nice. And for kids... order a kids meal and it comes in a fun frisbee you can keep! read more

Fast forward a few years and we stopped here for dinner with the dogs. No problem. They have paid the fee to get a license to have dogs on the patio! Food was very good. Fresh made burgers and interesting curled fries. I ordered them crispy- I don't recommend that as I think they are oven baked. Our server Lily was very sweet and took care of us well. We had a late lunch here on Wednesday, 10/8. Kathy was our server, so full of energy and positivity. I had the Asian sesame salad with tofu, so very good. It's large, so I took half of it home and had it for dinner the next night. Kathy also gave us a great recommendation for a local whiskey distiller, where we bought a bottle for ourselves and as a gift. DO NOT GET the fish tacos. The tortilla was stale and harder than anything I've eaten. Our food was delayed due to big parties ahead of us and server asked if it was worth the wait and the answer is no. At least not for the fish tacos. We ordered the four corners steak and that was delicious! We also got the smoked salmon chowder and it was delicious too! Just don't get the fish tacos or you will regret everything. Absolute wonderful. They have incredible food, fantabulous service, and at this time of year, outdoor seating. Two friends and I, along with my sweet pup, had lunch there on Tuesday, the 15th of April. Yum yum yum. This time and past, just can't be beat. Their brews are excellent. Their food absolutely incredible! They even count your pup as a guest! "Table for four", he said, with a great big smile, including my sweet Josie pup. They brought 4 waters. One they set down for Josie. I just don't think you can beat this kind of service, food, brews and good times. Collin was wonderful! On top of the game, for sure. He has a fabulous personality and quite the gracious and friendly server you would want when out for a meal. I had the Rodeo burger (dang good), and an Old Oak Amber Ale. Delicious. Another visit yesterday for lunch at one of our favorites in Durango. Two of us enjoyed the Four Corners Steak sandwich and our daughter enjoyed the Sumac Seared Tune. Quite a few baby boomer tourists during the supper hour. Nice parklet that's close enough to get snuffed by classic-rock baby boomers on revved-up Harleys. The entree was savory and the dessert was better. Root beer outstanding. The server said my selection was excellent and her favorite, but she said that to everybody and the baby boomers sucked it up. There's a parklet, indoor seating, and backyard patio to appeal to baby boomers with various preferences. Apparently Durango is a retirement and biker town. I thought it was a young bluegrass mountain town but, alas, it's a haven for aging beer belly xenophobic transplants. read more

Great small place on main street Durango. First the service was 10/10, from hostess to waitress to bar staff. Do you like Moscow Mules? They make them w homemade fresh ginger beer. Excellent. My wife's quinoa burger was the bomb she loved it. My spicy jalapeños guacamole burger was good but overcooked. They ask you what you want for your sides so when you order you weren't aware they cost extra kinda a scam. Over all good meal though. read more

Strangely, immediately, and abundantly obsessed with this place. Everybody from the host who sat us, to the food runner, to the bartender (?) who checked up on us was a delight. The cherry on top was our server, Alex, who was helpful and attentive, efficient but a friendly conversationalist. We started with the pretzel, which was the softest we've ever come across. We also had the loaded pork green chile tots, which were phenomenal. And for our meal, we shared the tatanka burger with a cup of the black bean beef chili. I cant say much about the chili, because we were so stuffed from everything else we had to take it to go. But the tatanka burger changed. Our. Lives. It was soooo sweet of them to cut our burger AND OUR PICKLE!!! (Maybe) We were absolutely tickled as we did not ask and expected to have to cut it ourselves (the sandwich, not the pickle, which we had never before thought to cut). A little off track but the burger, which contained green chiles and plenty of gooey, melty cheese truly exceeded our expectations.
