We had takeout here while vacationing in Wickenburg. The pizza crust was interesting in the sense that it was more of wafer style then new york style. This was polarizing in our family as some did not like it but I found a nice change. The place itself was very cool with multiple rooms and quirky furniture. What a delightful experience! After an impromptu drive from No Phoenix, we ended up in Wickenburg. We hadn't eaten dinner and found Carys Pizza on Yelp. What a great find. We had the Tomato Gatlic Supreme pizza. Thin, crispy crust, flavorful tomatoes, and excellent sauce. Cary was at the front when we arrived, cooked our pizza and served it. Great guy! There was a young lady there who was also super friendly. The restaurant building is a converted charming house. Wonderful experience! read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars, mainly because the person I spoke to on the phone was friendly. I ordered delivery and was told it would take about an hour, which I thought was fine. However, it ended up taking an hour and 45 minutes for my pizza to arrive. I ordered a gluten-free margherita pizza, but unfortunately, it was incredibly disappointing. I've been gluten-free for a while and have had some great pizzas elsewhere, but this one was inedible. Cary's pizza was just a delight. We phoned in a take-out order on the way back from a paddle at Lake Pleasant. The food: Our "house" pizza fave is sausage, onion, artichoke, and feta. Cary's doesn't have feta but that's not unusual as things go so no problem to forego the feta.The cracker-style crust is a very nice change of pace from the breadier crusts we usually find. Quite tasty as my waistline can attest. The staff: Warm, wonderful, and friendly. The most welcome I've felt in Wickenburg in our entire time here. The place: In different (ie not pandemic) times, hanging out in the different rooms would be amazing. The place has so much charm. Being a history dork, I couldn't help but investigate the reason for the historic places registry. It's a tough research project but the building itself seems to be of architectural value. That's as much as I figured out. But still cool nonetheless for my cursory research. The uncomfortable details: Wickenburg is generally not mask-positive in the two months I spent there. So mask-wearing staff and customers at Cary's was an amazing surprise. Most other places we've stopped into to tend to our full-timer RVer needs were, shall we say, quite a challenge. Cary's was the exception to the rule in the area so if you have a chance to support a local business, this is the one. Great food combined with social responsibility. That's about as good as you can get right now. And even after we've weathered this pandemic crap, I will totally be back for great pizza and to soak up the great vibe at Cary's. read more

This place is such an gem. Upon walking up to the house, it was so charming, then walking in and seeing the main front living room area, which looks more like a pizza parlor, was told we could sit anywhere we liked, which meant we could go further into the house into different rooms. One even was a cozy little nook with books and board games. We decided to eat in the dining room, family style. It's a 1920's home and you can look from the dining room into the kitchen, which has the pizza ovens and everything else! They have so many choices for pizza. It was overwhelming in the best way. Parking is a bit rough, but the restaurant is nicely decorated with several separate rooms in different decors - cozy and private, should you choose. Cary greeted us and we sat in the main area. VISITORS BEWARE!!! Wow!! If the pizza was freakin great and the best of all time I still wouldn't give it more than then the one star I gave. We waited an hour for a pizza, and people (who apparently are familiar with the one and only person working) get their order 1/2 hour after they arrive. I should have followed my instinct and left when we waited 10 minutes for anyone who worked here to come out. Kinda felt sorry for the elderly gentleman working by himself. Place is still as tasty as I remember it from years ago. I used to come during lunch and always enjoyed a personal pizza and this time was no different. I always enjoy the chicken pesto pizza and the Margherita. Both are delicious! Unique place to dine in and it's always quiet and relaxing. Service did take a little long but they were short handed, was in no rush so it worked out for us. Can't wait to be back next time in in Wickenburg. read more

Don't be fooled when you drive up. It's a little old house with a neon pizza sign out front. It looks like the kind of place that you would drive on by but don't. Only 3 tables inside but Cary serves arguably the best pizza in Wickenberg. I think he does most of his business as carry out. We were driving through town and looking for pizza. Have to say this is probably the best pizza I've had and I've had a lot of pizza. It's thin crust which I love and the cheese was plentiful. I know leaving five stars for a one time visit is risky but I'm doing it anyways. We stopped by yesterday. We ordered a 13" Hawaiian and Mozzarella sticks. The pizza crust was thin, crunchy and tasteless. The marinara tasted liked a canned red sauce with no seasoning. We were out of town for Christmas vacation and decided to give it a try. I'd say we came in right at dinner rush at 6:30 ish. The pizza and calzone were fantastic I'd say 5 of 5 on the food for sure. The service was 4 of 5 only due to how busy it was at the time we arrived. The place is very unique, it's a commercial home conversion to a pizza shop with big screen tv's and tables/dining areas. I just had one of the most infuriating, inexplicable experiences at this place. My third time in because the pizza was good, I brought my family this time on our way back home from Alamo Lake. Got in between 5:15 and 5:30. 1 or 2 other people in the entire place. We order two kid sized pizzas and two 10-inchers, and two side salads. An hour later, still without our food (and only one other customer left in the place), I approach the wait staff about our wait time. She has no explanation and says she'll send the owner out. 10-15 minutes later the pizzas arrive, with the owner. He asks if we need anything else and I tell him an explanation for the wait would be nice. He tells me, "it's the nature of the business." I say, "...to wait an hour for a pizza?" He gives me a curt "yep" and that's the end of the conversation. No additional explanation. No remorse. Not even recognition that something is amiss. We're charged full price. We're out the door at 7:15. Does this seem to any of you to be an appropriate response to a dissatisfied customer? Having worked in the industry, I know mistakes happen. Orders get misplaced, things get burned, orders are sometimes just plain forgotten. It's understandable. But let the customer know. And if that's not the case; if there were no errors and the delay was simply a result of call-in orders, let your dine-in customers know there's an extended wait. Especially if they have a 3 year old and 5 year old in tow that need to be maintained and entertained while they wait for their food. "Nature of the business" is not acceptable. And not honest. If you can't be honest with your customers, you won't keep them very long. read more
