We like to split small dishes while waiting for the entree - sometimes the edamame, or maybe the fresh bread, or the corn and crab soup. For entree we usually split the crab cakes (again, the best in Richmond). And we do this on a regular basis. Tonight we came in, and despite it being a Monday the bar was full. So we sadly went to a table. It's noisier in the dining area and you don't have the benefit of a bartender/server right in front of you. We ordered our "usuals," but they were slammed and the service was slower than usual. Still, everything was excellent. An assistant manager came to us and apologized for the speed of service and gave us a discount on our bill - even though we had not complained in the slightest. So my faith in ECP remains. This is a great restaurant and classic Carytown experience, and remains one of our tip-top favorites in Richmond.

Top shelf Happy Hour Drinks; amazing appetizers and a patio to die for! Count me in!…read more I've checked out Burton's once before and had a few drinks. They of course didn't let me down but I was so surprised on how great the food was. The Bang Bang broccoli was hands down my favorite. So tangy and sweet with this crazy crunch. The garlic butter shrimp were amazing and cooked to perfection. I also had the most wonderful garlic bread slices. Literally could have eaten an entire basket with or without the guac. Burton's has such an amazing selection of alcohol. They don't even have rail alcohol just top tier offerings. I enjoyed an espresso martini made with tequila which was absolutely perfect. I also had a desert flower made with mezcal, elderflower and prickly pear. Listen I can't wait for another. Huge shout out to Yelp for the amazing event and our server Peggah who was absolutely the cutest. Great customer service; knowledgeable; made suggestions and was super personable. Will definitely be requesting her when I return.

I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and a Greek salad, which was a satisfying combination. The lunch crowd was lowkey and relaxed and I noticed about four people pull up and break out their laptops at the bar to work while they ate. My late lunch snaked into happy hour, so I ended up ordering a cocktail and a key lime pie for dessert. The pie had a delicous graham cracker crust and tasty key lime flavor; however, I was pretty stuffed by this point so I couldn't finish it. Happy hour was really bumping with a great crowd. Nearly every seat at the bar was taken and the music was pretty good. One bartender was on duty servicing the entire bar on her own and when happy hour hit, she got slammed. She held it down though! This restaurant is a fantastic spot whether you are looking for a relaxed lunch or a lively happy hour to wind down the day. Beautiful restaurant, great food and vibes! I'll have to stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

On this visit, I now live here and finally came back after 3 years. We were seated in their main dining area which made the experience for me totally different since we were cramped and by the door. We ordered our burgers and chicken sandwich and it was delicious, but just didn't have that same impression. Don't get me wrong food was good. It was just different. The thing I love here is the sauce options you can get with your order. Don't skip on trying them. Their burgers come with a salad and I wish there was another option like small fries or chips. Paying additional for fries makes the burger too expensive. Overall, I do recommend Burger Bach especially in Carytown where you can walk around afterwards. Just hoping they rethink those sides.

It was not busy at that time and noise level was less than average. Our server was okay; her resting face made her appear serious and unapproachable. The Green GOAT was okay for me. It had New Zealand lamb, cilantro sauce, goat cheese, grilled green apple, and chimichurri. The fries were regular; nothing special. No desserts here.

Ok, Bar Buoy!…read more Boyfriend and I came in for happy hour. Brenner Pass was a regular favorite of ours and we were excited to try out this seafood focused remix! It was a 10/10 experience from food to vibes to service. As oyster connoisseurs, we definitely weren't going to say no to a dozen with the $1/each happy hour deal. They were fantastic! A delicious saltiness and the mignonette was top tier. We paired those with the ahi tuna nachos as well as the shrimp toast. They were both also exceptional and decently portioned. It was a perfect amount of food for the two of us. I tried the HH special orange crush which was fruity and definitely crushable. Those apps plus my drink and we closed out right around $65, with tip. We were not at all mad at the price & given the quality of the experience, it felt like a good deal! Our server and everyone in the area was very friendly and attentive. A winner for date night!

My wife and I came here on a Friday night with a reservation, got seated right away and ordered shortly after. Our drinks came, and then we waited, and waited, and waited for the appetizer. When it finally arrived after about half an hour, the waitress apologized and said they had a big group that had caused the delay so she was comping us the appetizer. I appreciated that, and expected things to go more smoothly after that... But then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. The waitress kept walking past us without even looking in our direction, and when we finally got her attention to ask if our food was coming, she said it would be out in two or three minutes. By the time it finally arrived, about ten minutes later, we'd been sitting at our table for more than 90 minutes. The manager brought it to our table and explained that they had a group of 30 people in a separate room, and there had been some last minute changes to that group's menu that had caused delays. Ok, I understand how that could happen, but the dining room and patio weren't even full, so it's not like the whole restaurant was slammed, and if you know that a group of 30 is coming on a Friday night, you staff accordingly, right? And if the manager brings the food out and offers an apology, you might expect him to also offer a round of drinks or something, right? Nope. We got the one comped app, but other than that, just a halfhearted apology for the fact that we waited an hour and a half for our meal. As for the quality of the food, the oyster po-boy was pretty good, but on the small side, and the sides were decent but nothing to write home about. If it were the best seafood in Richmond, maybe I'd go back, but I've had better elsewhere without the wait, so I don't plan to go back anytime soon.

Our waitress was pleasant and orderly, she handled our large group with poise. We ordered drinks, I had the Expat which wasn't maybe as interesting as I had hoped but it was good. My favorite item I had was the beet salad, so fresh and delicious. For my main I ordered the poke bowl. It was good, not the best poke I have had by any means but it was still decent. They have a beautiful indoor area and a mostly shaded patio if you want to eat outside. We ordered the vegan buddha bowl and vegan TLT sandwich - both were absolutely delicious! The TLT was also very well done - the perfect vegan-version of the classic, but maybe could have used a little more tempeh. Overall, we had an amazing experience and The Daily is probably going to be one of our new go-to spots in Richmond. For the quality of food and location, prices are reasonable too. Highly recommend!
