Calamari and shrimp with butter sauce and breadcrumbs (special)

The food was super good! Authentic Italian the appetizers were hot and the seafood was fresh. Stuffed mushrooms were full of crab meat! Sweet and savory. The calamari was fried perfect and fresh no rubbery texture at all smooth and buttery. The complementary bread was perfect and the peppers to accompany were Devine roasted to perfection. The owner came out and greeted us and checked on us. His entire family was there having dinner and it warmed my heart. All the food is cooked with Italian love. Best Alfredo I have ever had. The stuffed broiled fish was good too. Portions are huge!!! All I needed was wine or a cocktail. (It's BYOB) I'll will only eat at mom and pop Italian restaurants from now on. If the owners not on the premises and he didn't cook something don't even think about it!!! I'll be back for Italian delights again.

There was a lot of talk about the grandma pie in town, so we finally went and got it for ourselves! It was very good, we liked it better than a normal pie. We'd definitely order it again. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and the tomato sauce is a hearty, tasty sauce.

We got penne alla vodka (which comes with a side salad and garlic bread) and chicken parm sandwich with onions. We've gotten the vodka sauce here in the past and it was addictive. Today the sauce tasted delicious as well but not the same. The chicken parm wasn't bad- it was a little bland. Overall food was tasty!

Absolutely delicious from start to finish! I live almost 40 minutes away, but go as often as possible due to the authenticity of the food. The atmosphere is clean and very friendly, rarely do i have an unused dish or utensil left on the table, and the waitstaff pays attention without disrupting. Bathrooms are clean as well. 5 out of 5 stars, every time.

As soon as I walked in, I felt so welcomed. This family owned business has such a friendly staff and the restaurant is very clean. Now, let's get to the food. From the soup and salad to the main course, I couldn't stop saying "This is sooo good!" I ordered penne a la vodka and it was delicious! I will be a regular here and I can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

Well in that case, let's go! There are only 7 tables and it's first come, first served. No reservations so don't bother asking! - Bruschetta - the perfect amount of salt and spice! - Burrata Appetizer - warm, delicious and perfect to split with a party of four - Homemade Meatballs - tender and fantastic. Like your mom makes! - Caesar salad - solid choice - Grilled Lamb Chop - my husband had leftovers from this that he actually ate! - Fettuccini with Sausage - homemade pasta cooked perfectly - Penne Vodka - silky and al dente - Pappardelle Special - truffle, mushrooms, red sauce. So flippin' good! We were too stuffed for dessert, as per! Special shout-out to the staff. They are warm, efficient, and make you feel like they've known you for years. We had the opportunity to meet the chef and that was a huge treat. We couldn't gush any more about how amazing everything was. He was humbled by our enthusiasm! Cash only and BYOB. Any restaurant with a pay phone on the wall is a-okay in my book. Old-school Italian in the house!

We started off with fresh bread, made in-house, and a bottle of wine from Saddlehill Winery. (They sell bottles from the winery up the road.) bread was nice and crispy. For appetizers we did the clams casino and calamari. The clams casino were loaded with fresh red peppers and bacon and had a great smoky taste. The calamari was some of the best I've ever had! They don't use batter for the squid and it was still so crunchy and flavorful. The marinara was exquisite. For entrees I had the chicken francese which was battered well, and had a tangy lemony taste. Served with snap peas and mashed potatoes. My friend had the chicken parm and the spaghetti it was served with, as simple as it looked, was phenomenal. The chicken parm was a classic and fantastic choice, served with a nice oozing amount of cheese. We shared the ravioli Di aragosta which was stuffed extremely well with lobster and crabmeat and topped with carrot sauce! The carrot sauce was better than I expected, very creamy and light. Definitely a unique time to try. We ended the night with housemade tiramisu and Italian rum cake. Both desserts were so moist and tasty, not overly sweet, and light which made a perfect post-dinner treat. We also sampled their housemade limoncello which was so smooth and lemony! Safe to say I was blown away with the food. Everything is prepared fresh here and you can taste the passion in the dining. The owners are husband and wife, and Mr. Fieni does the cooking while Mrs. Fieni does the baking. What a perfect team! I love the simple collaborative approach they have. To top it off, the service was incredible. We had people checking in with us all night and our server was so friendly and personable. The dining room is simple - that would draw attention away from the outstanding food and service. This is truly an Italian restaurant done right! I'll definitely be back!

Cotardo's has always been an excellent value. Good food, nice portions with FREE garlic bread, side salad & soup. Plus, being BYOB saves so much money if you have any drinkers in your party. We find their prices to be quite reasonable, as costs have recently skyrocketed. I'm guessing the man complaining about the salad upcharge hasn't been shopping for produce in quite a while. Should the restaurant lose money because you think since its your birthday, or whatever, you should get something more expensive instead of the free option already offered? Restaurants have had to adjust due to costs- I think Cotardo's has done an excellent job of balancing value with quality. Also want to mention that their servers are amazing! We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.

So, the only reason I opted for Randalls is because it's a short drive and I had work after dinner so it was convenient. Based on their IG posts, it seemed decent. From what I was told, they try to be an upscale steakhouse so bad but just couldn't get it right. But enough of this heresay and here's my actual experience. There's valet. This is a golf course/club house and they have plenty of private spaces for parties and events. They seemed to have coat check but when we arrived, no one offered to check our coats. The main hostess lady that night (in her mint green sweater dress and leather booties) talked to us with a flat face, sans warmth and hospitality, and couldn't manage to fake a smile. She stopped by a couple of times to say we are doing okay and not needing anything. It was more of a statement rather than a query or concern. Then she walked away before I could answer, both times. The ambiance, it's very intimate. They have ample space. Our server was very accommodating and pleasant (I believe her name was Robin). Now here's my honest review on the food. We ordered fried calamari, nothing fancy just good old fried calamari. I feel like you really can't get this wrong because it's breaded and deep fried. It was stinky! Really fishy fish bite that you couldn't ignore it! I mainly ordered this for the kids but after I tasted it, I didn't want to give it to the kids. So they had bread instead. No complaint there. MIL got the filet mignon, ordered medium - it was barely cooked and begging to be seasoned. My husband and I got the lamb chops and I ordered an extra side of toasted sweet potatoes. The lamb chops were also not to the temperature I ordered it and was very undercooked. It didn't have any flavor whatsoever, and the only way I was able to tolerate this bland meat was to dip it in the sauce it came with. The potatoes were very charred on the outside but tough on the inside. The sugars on the outside were so burned it was bitter. If you're looking for a legitimate steakhouse, this ain't it!

According to the timestamp on my phone, I paid for my slice at 4:39 PM. I was the only customer ordering at that time--no rush, no crowd, just a normal Monday afternoon. As it got close to 5 PM, I asked the cashier where I should pick up my order. She directed me to the gentleman who was now helping the next group of customers. I asked if my slice was ready, and he simply pointed to a plate sitting on the counter. I asked for a box, went to add red pepper flakes, and that's when I realized the pizza was completely cold. Not lukewarm cold. What made it worse was the number of employees standing around: three at the register, at least three cooks, and another person handling to‑go orders. With that many people working, there was no reason my food should have been sitting out untouched for nearly 20 minutes, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy. By the time I got home and explained what happened to my husband, I honestly didn't know what felt worse the lack of customer service or wondering if the way I was treated had something to do with the color of my skin. Either way, the experience was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. This location is officially on my "do not shop" list. There's simply no excuse for food to sit out, get cold, and be talked over while new customers are being served.
