Came here randomly for a date night and loved that the place was open a little later, making it the perfect spot for a quick bite before hitting the bars. My team selected this restaurant to celebrate a couple birthdays. The service was fabulous, on point, attentive and always taking care of each persons needs in the party. I'm the ambiance was lovely--especially a surprising birthday cheer for the celebrants. The food was all delicious. They also provided complimentary chicharones rather than the typical chips and salsa--although we ordered chips n salsa--they also refilled them as needed. We had such a great experience that we came a following week to surprise another co worker. It was also to try another dish and all was delicious. The first time I had the chile verde--delicious! The meat (pork was tender), had it with freshly made corn tortillas aside from the refried beans and rice. The dish was huge for me to finish-I had half of my plate to take home. The salad was very good--well-prepared steak, generous portion, and a nice mix of textures. The soup was a pleasant surprise: a rich, tomato-based broth with a nice savory depth. I'd recommend adding it if you're on the fence. My partner ordered a mixed taco plate (steak and fish). The steak taco was solid, but the fish taco leaned a bit bland and could have used more seasoning or contrast. Service was excellent throughout and attentive without hovering. We sat outside, and it made for a really pleasant dining experience, especially with the energy of the street and the restaurant's overall vibe. We finished with churros for dessert, which we both enjoyed. Portion size was generous and more than enough for two. The space itself is worth mentioning: bright, colorful, and busy in a good way. It has that modern, high-energy feel that works well for groups or a casual night out. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance with a friend. We went on a Friday night and although they don't take reservations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they do have a waitlist on their website which, you can add yourself to 20-30mins before you plan to arrive. I added us 30 mins before we arrived and we got a table a little sooner actually. That night they had a mariachi band going around accepting requests for songs from customers and sang to customer's for their bday too. It was great. Our waitress was great, very friendly, and attentive. We both had the Casa Magarita and it was delicious and refreshing. We shared chips with guacamole, they give you complimentary chicharrónes (pork rinds) with hot sauce and lime, and we shared the queso fundido. All of it was delicious and obviously a lot of food. For myself I ordered the quesabirria tacos with refried beans and rice. The consumé amd meat of the tacos was yummy. And so was the beans and rice. It's not easy to make a goid Mexican red rice. My lunch at Casa Lola made fall back in love with dining out So many places you go nowadays are expensive, menus created without love, terrible service, and no personality in the place. From the moment we walked in the gorgeous decor, authentic touches, and vaulted ceilings just made you feel like you were in a beautifully curated space. It's hard to resist chips and salsa, but these chips were probably the thinnest and crispy chips I've ever had! They were accompanied by a choice between red and green salsa. I didn't try the green today, but the red was very tasty, without the heat. Our server was incredibly good at her job! Quick and personable. Three of us had the potato tacos, I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but the way this dish was described on the menu. I had to try it.. and it was just as delicious as it sounded. I decided to do a side salad instead of the beans and rice and that also was a 10 out of 10. They heard that we were there for an employee appreciation lunch so they pulled out what's called "the celebration" I won't ruin the surprise, but if you go, they do this celebration for any occasion! They made us feel very welcomed very at home and the whole experience was very lovely. I'd also like to include GORGEOUS BATHROOMS. I was so excited for my lunch date today at Casa Lola, a new, trendy Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Sacramento. Offering authentic recipes, craft cocktails with cozy vibrant decor. It's like being at your Lola's house sharing a tasty meal with your loved ones. We ordered a variety of items for the table, including a couple of margaritas, starters and mains. Our waiter suggested the margarita de sandia, their most popular margarita, which included a tajin rim and watermelon slice. The Luna Morada has blackberries and rosemary with a salted rim. Both refreshing and delicious. The most memorable tasty dish was the guacamole with chicharron con carne, I would come back just to get this. The flavorful rice and black beans perfectly complement every main entree we ordered; Camerones a la diabla in a spicy red sauce, chicken fajitas with peppers and onions, as well as asada and birria tacos. We can't forget the queso fundido with fresh homemade flour tortillas and chicken flautas to round out our meal. Went here on a Friday evening and was surprised by how short the wait was. Our server, Stef, was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. I also ordered the pepino loco and the tres leches cake both of which were so good. I almost skipped the pepino loco but I was so glad I didn't. It was refreshing, not overly sweet, and had a crisp cucumber flavor that really stood out. The tres leches cake was Stef's recommendation after our meal and it did not disappoint. We devoured it. They have very kind and knowledgable staff. The ambiance was great and it's well decorated. The drinks we ordered were great and priced average compared to similar restaraunts. I will say the food was okay and a little over priced. $18 for 2 al pastor tacos with undercooked rice and beans. The carne in the tacos was great, but the tortilla tasted stale in my opinion. The rice was undercooked in parts or was left over from yesterday and reheated, but the beans were great. To me, it was mid. Maybe it was because we got there when they first opened? It didn't feel very fresh to me but the flavor was there. I can't speak to my friends dishes. I could have easily given this place 5 stars if the food was consistent and fresh but it wasn't there for me on my first visit. read more

Instead of typical chips and salsa, they give you chicharron with hot sauce. I like the idea, but I'd rather have chips lol. Another great and fun dining spot in the downtown Sac area! We came in for an early Friday night dinner and are glad we did. They are located on a corner with great building art and colors you can't miss them. Some tables are available for dining al fresco when the weather is good. The interior is awesome with high ceilings, lots of decor to catch your eyes, and exciting upbeat music to fill your senses. The service was excellent from start to finish on this night. They have a good sized menu of traditional and more unique offerings. The restaurant filled up quickly after we were seated, and the sound level also increased which made it a little difficult to talk. Our meals were excellent for both of us. I do have to note that they charge $4.95 (as of this review) for chips and salsa. The chips are light, and the red and green salsas very good. We split one of the dinner salads and it was plenty big for both of us. The enchiladas mole had a mole that was deep and rich in flavor. Not gritty or muddy. The fajitas were perfectly prepared, and very good. The only criticism would be the excessive amount of grilled veggies that come with this dish. It was just too much veggie food compared with the protein that comes with it, which was plenty. In the early evening, there is a great mariachi group that roams the floor playing upbeat tunes which made the patrons happy. When you sit down, you get free chicharrones with a sauce on top and you have the option to put some lime on them as well. They were good, but I thought it was a little bit too crunchy.
