Had such a great experience at Casa Lola! I ordered the carne asada tacos and they were seriously SO good. The steak was flavorful and tender, and the tacos were loaded with grilled onions, peppers, cilantro, and cheese. Everything tasted fresh and had so much flavor without being overly heavy. The rice and black beans on the side were also delicious and made the whole plate super filling. Portions were generous too -- definitely came hungry and left happy The atmosphere was fun and inviting, and overall it was just a really solid meal. If you're coming here, I'd absolutely recommend the carne asada tacos. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

My family and I stopped by at this place for a quick bite to eat. I had the Pescado à la plancha with the catch of the day (sea bass). The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with classic hacienda-style décor that gives it a warm, traditional Mexican feel. The black beans were seasoned really well, the fish was cooked nicely, but was lacking the flavor I was hoping for, I really wanted to like the rice but unfortunately it was lacking flavor as well and didn't really add much to meal. My family enjoyed their entrees but we all agreed that the rice could've been better. For the price, I didn't feel my meal offered the value I expected. The drinks looked good though, definitely would've tried if I was in the mood. Very modern decor. Came for HH. They have half off their apps and $2 off margaritas and other drinks. Only on Tuesdays, they have five dollar taco specials. We came on a weekday and they had lots of tables open. Service is good. They serve you complementary Chicharron to start which is sprinkled with hot sauce. The hot sauce made it a little soggy. Order the chicken flautas, and birria chimichangas. It was served hot with lots of guac, sour cream, and lettuce on top of it. My boyfriend ordered the Carne Asada tacos. Those were quite greasy. They only serve two small tacos with rice and beans for $20, which is kind of expensive. Most other places serve at least three tacos for the same size with their meals. I do like this spot. Inside it feels like you're dining at a special place. The aesthetics inside are so well coordinated-it's very beautiful. Their menu has a really incredible tequila collection and they have some really creative drinks available-it's almost like being transported to a restaurant in Mexico City. When I visited,we were doing a Happy Hour bar crawl,so this review is just going to talk about their Happy Hour. Their happy hour may not be the best deal in town, but it still has some nice perks. Basically for happy hour that runs Monday through Thursday from 3pm-6pm. This is what they offer- $1 off large beers $2 off margaritas,wines,and well drinks $3 off specialty cocktails. 50% off appetizers On Tuesdays they offer $5 tacos during happy hour. So we decided we just wanted drinks,so we got a few tequila drinks. -Cantarito($15.00) and a Luna Morada Margarita($13.00) The Cantarito was served in a traditional clay cup-it's super cute.The drink is made with Patron Silver,Aperol,Cointreau,lime,orange,grapefruit and club soda-it's so refreshing. The Luna Morada Margarita is basically tequila, triple sec,blackberries,lime juice and agave with a salt rim.I enjoyed this drink-one of the tastier margaritas I've ever had in town. As crazy as this sounds,I think my favorite thing about this visit was that instead of giving complimentary chips and salsa,they gave complimentary Chicharrones de carne with hot sauce, which is basically deep-fried pork belly served with bits of meat still attached-such an upgrade over chips and salsa-I hope more places do this in the future. Our bartender was very attentive, checking on us more than a few times. In closing,Like I mentioned earlier, I really do like this place, I feel that if I were to try more of their food beyond happy hour drinks, I could end up loving this place. I will say that $13-$15 per drink during happy hour is a bit pricey, but at least the drinks were of the highest quality. Lots of misses from this restaurant.. when we arrived they asked us if we had a reservation for our group of 5 even tho there were lots of empty tables available. They sat us in a XL table which was OK. Then we ordered and our waiter explained that they werent honoring the happy hour prices even though it was happy hour (bc they had a show that they were affiliated with). Weird but OK. Then the food arrived and everything unraveled from there. The food is no good, really feel like they cater to a white audience with no authentic flavor at all. Was traveling solo when came across this walking down the street. It smelled good seemed lively so I thought I would take a chance. They said they had no spot for me, but it would be about a 15 minute wait. And they would text me so I went for a walk around the block and never got a text about 20 minutes later I went back. And the restaurant was near empty apparently happy hour. He just ended or something. They sent two people in front of me just fine. When I walked up to the front and asked how much longer they told me they didn't know where I wanted to sit that's why they hadn't reached out to me. It felt like they really didn't want a single person, but whatever. When I sat down, service was good. Margaritas were great, but the fajitas mostly a pile of onions and peppers with very little chicken. Overall, I made due, payed my bill and left. Not a very memorable experience. read more

My dad and I came to Casa Lola on a Monday night to have dinner. We were lucky enough to find street parking, but I can imagine that can be tricky at times. We were seated right away. Our server was kind, but you could tell that she was stretched a little thin, so service on taking our order, getting drink refills and bringing us the check at the end was a little slow. We started with an order of their complementary Chicharron - my only complaint about these was the hot sauce they added on top. The Chicharron themselves were delicious, but the hot sauce ended up making them a little soggy. We also placed an order for a large guacamole, which included chips and salsa. The guacamole was delicious - probably one of the best parts of our meal. The salsa lacked any real flavor in my opinion. And unfortunately, the chips were too thin and flimsy, as to where they kept breaking every time you tried to scoop the guacamole. For my meal, I ordered the quesabirria tacos while my dad ordered the Pollo tacos. He really wanted to mix and match one fish and one shrimp taco, but they don't allow mix and match. My tacos were good and had plenty of filling. My dad thought the Pollo tacos were decent as well. All in all, this was probably a 3 1/2 star meal, bordering on four, if there were a few minor adjustments and corrections. I will definitely come back and give it another shot. read more

No TVs to distract your meal, and depending on how many birthdays there is in the restaurant you will be hearing the music get a touch louder. I came to Casa Lola on a weekday evening. We were tended to right away when we entered the right entrance LOL as we originally were waiting by the wrong door. We were seated and informed that one of our waiters was in training. Both servers were attentive and checked in multiple times. I had questions about the menu and they were answered as I didn't want a dish that was too too spicy. I really enjoyed my meal. My friend's items ended up being half price as the chimichangas were a part of happy hour. The artwork in the restaurant is beautiful and so festive. Victor was our server but the entire staff came out in the best birthday entrance that a restaurant can give . The restaurant truly transformed from public house to a beautiful Mexican themed decor. My team selected this restaurant to celebrate a couple birthdays. The service was fabulous, on point, attentive and always taking care of each persons needs in the party. I'm the ambiance was lovely--especially a surprising birthday cheer for the celebrants. The food was all delicious. They also provided complimentary chicharones rather than the typical chips and salsa--although we ordered chips n salsa--they also refilled them as needed. We had such a great experience that we came a following week to surprise another co worker. It was also to try another dish and all was delicious. The first time I had the chile verde--delicious! The meat (pork was tender), had it with freshly made corn tortillas aside from the refried beans and rice. The dish was huge for me to finish-I had half of my plate to take home. For drinks, the margaritas were very well done which is to say clean, balanced, and not overly sweet. My partner also ordered a horchata-based cocktail with the meal, which was a standout and worth trying if it's on the menu. For mains, I had the steak salad along with a cup of the Aztec soup. The salad was very good--well-prepared steak, generous portion, and a nice mix of textures. The soup was a pleasant surprise: a rich, tomato-based broth with a nice savory depth. I'd recommend adding it if you're on the fence. My partner ordered a mixed taco plate (steak and fish). The steak taco was solid, but the fish taco leaned a bit bland and could have used more seasoning or contrast. Service was excellent throughout and attentive without hovering. We sat outside, and it made for a really pleasant dining experience, especially with the energy of the street and the restaurant's overall vibe. We finished with churros for dessert, which we both enjoyed. Portion size was generous and more than enough for two. The space itself is worth mentioning: bright, colorful, and busy in a good way. It has that modern, high-energy feel that works well for groups or a casual night out. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance with a friend. We went on a Friday night and although they don't take reservations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they do have a waitlist on their website which, you can add yourself to 20-30mins before you plan to arrive. I added us 30 mins before we arrived and we got a table a little sooner actually. That night they had a mariachi band going around accepting requests for songs from customers and sang to customer's for their bday too. It was great. Our waitress was great, very friendly, and attentive. We both had the Casa Magarita and it was delicious and refreshing. We shared chips with guacamole, they give you complimentary chicharrónes (pork rinds) with hot sauce and lime, and we shared the queso fundido. All of it was delicious and obviously a lot of food. For myself I ordered the quesabirria tacos with refried beans and rice. The consumé amd meat of the tacos was yummy. And so was the beans and rice. It's not easy to make a goid Mexican red rice. I was so excited for my lunch date today at Casa Lola, a new, trendy Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Sacramento. Offering authentic recipes, craft cocktails with cozy vibrant decor. It's like being at your Lola's house sharing a tasty meal with your loved ones. We ordered a variety of items for the table, including a couple of margaritas, starters and mains. Our waiter suggested the margarita de sandia, their most popular margarita, which included a tajin rim and watermelon slice. The Luna Morada has blackberries and rosemary with a salted rim. Both refreshing and delicious. The most memorable tasty dish was the guacamole with chicharron con carne, I would come back just to get this. The flavorful rice and black beans perfectly complement every main entree we ordered; Camerones a la diabla in a spicy red sauce, chicken fajitas with peppers and onions, as well as asada and birria tacos. We can't forget the queso fundido with fresh homemade flour tortillas and chicken flautas to round out our meal.
