My family and I stopped by at this place for a quick bite to eat. I had the Pescado à la plancha with the catch of the day (sea bass). The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with classic hacienda-style décor that gives it a warm, traditional Mexican feel. The black beans were seasoned really well, the fish was cooked nicely, but was lacking the flavor I was hoping for, I really wanted to like the rice but unfortunately it was lacking flavor as well and didn't really add much to meal. My family enjoyed their entrees but we all agreed that the rice could've been better. For the price, I didn't feel my meal offered the value I expected. The drinks looked good though, definitely would've tried if I was in the mood. Overall, I probably would come back and try a different entree to give them another shot but overall I wasn't impressed.

Very modern decor. Came for HH. They have half off their apps and $2 off margaritas and other drinks. Only on Tuesdays, they have five dollar taco specials. We came on a weekday and they had lots of tables open. Service is good. They serve you complementary Chicharron to start which is sprinkled with hot sauce. The hot sauce made it a little soggy. Order the chicken flautas, and birria chimichangas. It was served hot with lots of guac, sour cream, and lettuce on top of it. My boyfriend ordered the Carne Asada tacos. Those were quite greasy. They only serve two small tacos with rice and beans for $20, which is kind of expensive. Most other places serve at least three tacos for the same size with their meals. Also got a mangonada margarita which had a tajin rim, was quite strong, but had good flavor. Overall food was good but heavy and greasy.

I do like this spot. Inside it feels like you're dining at a special place. The aesthetics inside are so well coordinated-it's very beautiful. Their menu has a really incredible tequila collection and they have some really creative drinks available-it's almost like being transported to a restaurant in Mexico City. The restaurant is owned by the same ownership group that owns Iron Horse Tavern and Mas Taco Bar-The quality of those spots has clearly spilled over to this restaurant as well. This restaurant is located on 16th and L right on the corner. They don't have their own parking lot but there is plenty of street parking-They also advertise $2 parking, but I've never experienced it myself. Let's talk about this visit. When I visited,we were doing a Happy Hour bar crawl,so this review is just going to talk about their Happy Hour. Their happy hour may not be the best deal in town, but it still has some nice perks. Basically for happy hour that runs Monday through Thursday from 3pm-6pm. This is what they offer- $1 off large beers $2 off margaritas, wines, and well drinks $3 off specialty cocktails. 50% off appetizers On Tuesdays they offer $5 tacos during happy hour. So we decided we just wanted drinks,so we got a few tequila drinks. -Cantarito($15.00) and a Luna Morada Margarita($13.00) The Cantarito was served in a traditional clay cup-it's super cute. The drink is made with Patron Silver,Aperol,Cointreau, lime, orange, grapefruit and club soda-it's so refreshing. The Luna Morada Margarita is basically tequila, triple sec, blackberries, lime juice and agave with a salt rim.I enjoyed this drink-one of the tastier margaritas I've ever had in town. As crazy as this sounds,I think my favorite thing about this visit was that instead of giving complimentary chips and salsa, they gave complimentary Chicharrones de carne with hot sauce, which is basically deep-fried pork belly served with bits of meat still attached-such an upgrade over chips and salsa-I hope more places do this in the future. Our bartender was very attentive, checking on us more than a few times. In closing,Like I mentioned earlier, I really do like this place, I feel that if I were to try more of their food beyond happy hour drinks, I could end up loving this place. I will say that $13-$15 per drink during happy hour is a bit pricey, but at least the drinks were of the highest quality. They were beautifully presented, and you could really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into each recipe. I applaud them for that.

Lots of misses from this restaurant.. when we arrived they asked us if we had a reservation for our group of 5 even tho there were lots of empty tables available. They sat us in a XL table which was OK. Then we ordered and our waiter explained that they werent honoring the happy hour prices even though it was happy hour (bc they had a show that they were affiliated with). Weird but OK. Then the food arrived and everything unraveled from there. The food is no good, really feel like they cater to a white audience with no authentic flavor at all. We tried the molcajete, enchiladas rojas, cóctel de camarón, and nachos. We also ordered salsa on the side and waited almost 15 minutes for it to arrive only for it to be mid. I honestly would not come here again. I had trouble finishing my food.

Was traveling solo when came across this walking down the street. It smelled good seemed lively so I thought I would take a chance. They said they had no spot for me, but it would be about a 15 minute wait. And they would text me so I went for a walk around the block and never got a text about 20 minutes later I went back. And the restaurant was near empty apparently happy hour. He just ended or something. They sent two people in front of me just fine. When I walked up to the front and asked how much longer they told me they didn't know where I wanted to sit that's why they hadn't reached out to me. It felt like they really didn't want a single person, but whatever. When I sat down, service was good. Margaritas were great, but the fajitas mostly a pile of onions and peppers with very little chicken. Overall, I made due, payed my bill and left. Not a very memorable experience.

Complimentary pork rinds for the table. Got the carnitas and carne asada tacos. Both were ok, one of them had a really spicy salsa on it. Servers were attentive and friendly.

A fun and festive place for sure! I love the decor and the friendly staff. They have a unique thing of giving chicharrones instead of your typical tortilla chips. Also when we went, a mariachi band was playing some fun and festive live music (weekend afternoon). Food 1. The complimentary chicharrones were a bit hard, but still pretty good 2. The birria taco plate was great, according to my daughter. Great flavor and consommé dip 3. The chorizo con papas skillet was really spicy and a bit too much for the wifey, but I enjoyed it 4. The carne asada fajitas was only okay (best very thinly sliced and the peppers overly dominated the flavor)

My best friend and I just came here for a little girls time. We enjoyed chips and salsa as well as complementary Chicharrons. We also ordered the Mangonadas. The drinks were delicious which a wonderful Tajin rim. The food was good as well. I really liked the salsa verde. I'm excited to come back and try some entrees and maybe another Mangonada!

Great food selection and yummy tasting. Our waitress Bella was very attentive and friendly. The decor inside takes you into another level of an experience. No TVs to distract your meal, and depending on how many birthdays there is in the restaurant you will be hearing the music get a touch louder. There is parking in front in a lot but less expensive parking inside a garage by there. I like that the women's bathroom has three stalls because places that are bigger need it. They have a lot of seating, indoor and outdoor space. Nice bar area if you just want to pop in for a drink. We had the Nachos and the ceviche and the pepino and mango drinks.

I came to Casa Lola on a weekday evening. We were tended to right away when we entered the right entrance LOL as we originally were waiting by the wrong door. We were seated and informed that one of our waiters was in training. Both servers were attentive and checked in multiple times. I had questions about the menu and they were answered as I didn't want a dish that was too too spicy. I really enjoyed my meal. My friend's items ended up being half price as the chimichangas were a part of happy hour. The artwork in the restaurant is beautiful and so festive. I believe the portrait in the front of the restaurant was the owner's sister from the conversation I had with the host. The restaurant and food has a bit of a Tex-mex flavor to me. Def worth a visit for the service, flavorful food, and beautiful atmosphere.

We came here for 3 staff birthdays and we were wowed at how amazing the customer service was. Victor was our server but the entire staff came out in the best birthday entrance that a restaurant can give . The restaurant truly transformed from public house to a beautiful Mexican themed decor. The food was ok, and the dessert was very good ! I had the birria tacos and they were good . I'm just sad the rice or beans didn't have much flavor. I am from an area where my Mexican food is top notch flavor town. I would come for the drinks and vibes all day. The food was decent too better than a lot of places downtown. Is it my best friends abuelas cooking? No. But it'll do.

We just had the most delicious Mexican lunch in Sacramento today. The reviews on Casa Lola were good but as soon as I saw the decor of the restaurant I knew I wanted to eat there. I ordered the Chorizo con Papas Skillet and it did not disappoint, it was the tastiest chorizo I have ever eaten in my life. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros and absolutely loved it. We were treated to a bonus because a mariachi band was playing. It was a double bonus with a delicious lunch and great entertainment. Can't wait to come back.

Santacos food truck was at the Rocklin Community Festival Mother's Day weekend in 2026…read more I've been craving the grilled carne asada from La Taqueria in San Francisco for years now, but I am just too lazy to deal with the parking and lines there. I have been hoping to find an easier-to-access carne asada in the Sacramento area. While not the steak slices I have seen at La Taqueria, Santacos grilled carne asada is very tasty. I ordered the Bowl with Carne Asada. It comes with Spanish rice, whole beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, and sour cream. Generous portion. I'd say meat fills about 1/2 the bowl! Yummy dinner. Service was kind, helpful, and courteous. Because I asked questions about the carne asada preparation and cut of meat, she offered me a sample. It was near the end of festival day and the last day of the festival. Carne asada was tender and juicy. I look forward to trying the tacos, quesabirria, and quesadilla. I asked if the burrito wrappers were grilled, and they are! For the calendar and locations, follow Santacos on Instagram: @santacosmx

Santacos food truck! The carne asada tacos are freakin delicious. Beyond five stars. What the heck…read moredid they put in the meat?!! It was so darn flavorful. Mmm. I am still thinking about them tacos. Also their housemade salsa verde and salsa rojo were amaze balls as well. They know their flavors. Mmm. I ordered the two taco plate that came with beans and rice. The tacos were a street taco size and packed with meat. The beans were perfectly cooked pinto beans. The Spanish rice was fluffy and soft. Yummers for both side dishes. My other taco protein was carnitas. It was good but I am still thinking about the carne asada. The carnitas was topped was with a fresh pineapple slice. Nice. However, the carnitas was oily, not complaining because fat is ~flavor. Just that it could have been drained more, so my tortilla would not have fallen apart sooner than it did which was after a couple of bites. Rest assured, none went to waste. The cashier was fabulous. She even handled some intense customers with ease and grace to de-escalate and calm the hangry folks. Pricing is comparable to other food trucks. It ain't cheap tho but what is anymore.
