I love this place. It's my favorite Italian restaurant. It's not a chain it's one of a kind home style spot.

I have driven past this place for years and have always wanted to stop in. My mom and I finally decided to try this place out one afternoon. And we were surly mistaken this is not a casual Wednesday dinner night. It is not an upscale restaurant, however it is pricy. I also had trouble finding a dish that I liked. I decided on the gnocchi and my mom got a pizza. They were both pretty good but I'll probably never come back here. It was nothing special and the inside reminded me of a old bar. read more

WOW. I have lived in media my entire life and go to Spasso or Fellini for Italian food- but no more. Last minute decision for take out last out, the Chicken Parm was delicious. Sauce has a little peppery kick but up my alley. We liked it so much that we ordered take out the night after. Bruschetta pizza, chicken Marsala, motz sticks and French onion soup. Incredible! I wasn't sure what to expect before my first time in the restaurant since Yelp had a lot of mixed reviews. Surprisingly, this place was a really good Italian place for the Delaware County area. I mostly enjoyed my meal, and only had a small number of complaints. I initially ordered a merlot since I thought I would have something with marinara for dinner, but changed my mind to veal (don't hate me! I know I should have ordered white!). I ordered the baked mozzarella for an appetizer and found it absolutely delightful! I shared it with a bunch of people (we were there with 7 people) and they found it was an interesting, tasty dish. My boyfriend and I also shared the fried calamari, which was really good, too. I loved the spicy marinara and the fried jalapenos and honestly wished there was more. The calamari itself wasn't chewy or hard, like it sometimes is, and was fried beautifully. I tried a piece of the Shrimp LeJon and didn't care for the sauce that came with it. And, honestly, the shrimp was too dried out for my taste. I also tried the French Onion Soup, which was pretty average and slightly too salty for my taste, and the lobster bisque, which was delightfully nice for a non-New England restaurant (I lived in Boston for 4 years and have had my fair share of Maine lobsters). For my entree, I thought the veal marsala was beautifully done and enjoyed every bite of it. In fact, I even ate my entire dish (including the pasta!), which is really rare for me to do. My only other complaint is that the menu doesn't mention that the entrees come with pasta (my brother didn't know this and was upset he could have had pasta instead of potatoes) and you can also customize the pasta, too (i.e. alfredo with thick spaghetti, fettuccine with marinara). I only knew to do this because people at my party were there before and I listened to them customize their order. Lastly, I did think that the dishes were way overpriced and although I loved my entire dinner and had little to no complaints on the food itself, the prices were not worth the food items, especially the appetizers. read more

Great food, great service. My wife raved about the Eggplant Parm. The Shrimp & Feta appetizer was excellent.

Six of us stopped here tonight after helping to move someone. We were all happy we did. Everything we ordered was very good. We ordered the Grouper special, clam bake special, chicken parm sandwich, italian hoagie, cheese ravioli and cheese sticks. For dessert we had cherry cheese cake, carrot cake and cannoli. Everything was made in house and delicious. Service by Bernice was warm and on point. This was a great find and we will return. read more

We went there this evening for dinner which was Father's Day 2021 our server was Blake he was phenomenal. For appetizers we had 2 shrimp lejon onion soup and for entrées we had veal franchise and flounder franchise and chicken piccata we also had dessert for us three. Okay so I want to start by saying this isn't about my own experience necessarily, but the guests at a table near us on Saturday night. I know it was a relatively hot night and understand it gets buggy when it's hot out. But this couple had flies all over their food and floating in their drinks. They asked to speak to a manager, who seemingly came out just looking for a confrontation. He told them that he thought they were scamming for a free meal and that he didn't want their business. Just when I thought I had seen it all, the manager then followed the male from the couple out of the restaurant, throwing up his hands going "come on, come on." I honestly felt like I was on a hidden camera show. Our own experience was alright. Our food was alright and our service was alright. Nothing to write home about. But after witnessing that whole.. spectacle... I don't plan on returning. read more

My wife and I ate here tonight and had one of the worst dining experiences ever! After we sat down and ordered our dinner, we noticed tons of flies all over the place. There were gnats and bigger flies all over. When our drinks came, there was a fly floating in the beer. We spent our entire meal shoeing away flies, and dealing with them pitching in our food. We told the waitress, and she told us that all the doors were open because it was hot, and they didn't want to turn on the air conditioning. She also told us she would shut the doors immediately. On our way out, we noticed the door was still wide open. We told the hostess about the fly problem, and she agreed with us. She brought out the restaurant manager. What happened next was unlike anything I've ever experienced. The manager came flying out of the back, said sorry and denied there were any flies. He demanded to see how much dinner we ate from our to go bags. He said, "what am I supposed to do, tell the flies to leave?" He accused us of lying, and then accused us of trying to get a free meal. He said, "all you want is a free meal." He started to full out yell at us, waving his arms everywhere. He even tried to get in my face. We put the food down in the doorway and left, to show that we weren't looking for free food. He proceeded to follow us out the door screaming, "come on, come on" instigating a physical fight. DO NOT eat here. The manager is completely crazy, has a volatile temper, and does not care about your dining experience, or the customer. Take your business elsewhere- Delaware County has the some of the best Italian restaurants. Cross this off your list. read more

I recently moved to the Del o area from Philadelphia where I had access to some of the best restaurants in our great country. That being said I've had great authentic Italian from mom and pop places in South Philly and I've been to Michelin rated places in Center City. I LOVE CASA MIA!! Hands down my favorite place to go. I don't have one favorite because I love everything I've tried so far. Needless to say I plan on making my way through their entire menu ASAP!! Oh..always check out their specials and it's not on the menu but yes they do offer traditional spaghetti w/meatballs. P.S. ask if the have the baklava cheesecake... you'll thank me!! read more

Went to Casa Mia for dinner tonight. The food was great and served quickly. With the exception of waiting for a table for a while when there were 2-3 empty tables sitting right there the whole time, the service were pretty good - our waiter was prompt and courteous. My only real complaint about the place was how loud it was in there. I think it was mostly from the bar patrons, not the diners. Glad they were having a good time, but my husband and I had to literally yell to hear each other so we pretty much just stopped talking. Anyway, it's not the place for a romantic dinner - at least not on a Saturday night. read more

Went there last night for date night with my husband and it was a wonderful experience. From the food, ambience and right down to the excellent customer service - it was a 10/ 10 all around. This was the first time I was here. I have to say the service was excellent. The waitress was wonderful. The food I ordered the special cowboy steak was a good size but the taste was not good. I should have asked what kind of sauce they put on it, it was not to my tasting. The side dish of spinach was good. We both had steak, no alcoholic drinks, and an appetizer. The price was $98.00 plus tip. I did not mind leaving a tip but if I am going to pay $98.00 for 2 people the food needs to be excellent. This by far was not. Even though my daughter did not enjoy her veal parm (she said it tasted "like soap") and my father did not enjoy his lamb chops (they were "just fair"). My husband, mother and I enjoyed our dishes. (My mom and I shared the Veal Francaise - which was delicious and, thankfully, not drowning in butter-sauce as we asked for it "light" on the sauce). Salads were super fresh and the best part for me was the screppelle soup. Awesome. Good service, too. My 10 year old wanted to give this place 2 stars but I like it here and next time I am coming without her. This is the best Italian place that is the closest to my apartment. They have amazing screppele soup & the baked mozzarella is to die for! The calamari is also delicious. They have a very "homey" feeling atmosphere. I have been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our absolute favorite DELCO restaurant!Owners Helen and George are fabulous and Sam and Sean, our barenders, are always friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Every dish we have had there had been excellent- eggplant parmesan, salmon, flounder, lasagna, all their chicken dishes. Cozy and comfortable. This was our first visit to Casa Mia and the service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The menu had a nice variety and my husband enjoyed the penne with the Bolognese and I had the Veal Parmesan which was excellent although a bit salty. For dessert, the Tiramisu was a bit disappointing. The mascarpone was thick and pasty as though it was not cut with whipped cream and the espresso for the savoiardi was too bland. All in all, a pleasant experience and we will go back again as several of the dishes served around us also looked appetizing. read more

I don't take lightly giving an establishment a poor rating. But if ever a restaurant was deserving of one, it's Casa Mia after my family's dining experience there. First, the food is not the issue. Decent Italian fare with some highlights like the scrippelle soup. When we entered, we were greeted warmly by a very pleasant hostess who seated us promptly . Dinner service had just began an hour prior, so staff wasn't swamped and the dining room was barely half full. Moments later, we were approached by a gruff, very rude waitress who reeked of cigarettes. She seemed annoyed at the very sight of my family. Seriously, it was, as my husband described, "bizarre." As I am writing this, I am still unsure why, at that moment, we didn't politely leave and find someplace else to dine locally. Honestly, I wanted to believe I was misperceiving just how incredibly ignorant this woman was being towards us. Things continued to decline as my young child attempted to order her meal. My daughter, who is very polite and accustomed to dining out, was attempting to give the waitress her order when she rudely barked, "WHAT?!!" As she brought our drinks to the table she yelled at us to move things around on the table to accommodate the drinks. I looked at her in shock that she was behaving this way, she stared me down and snapped, "Is there a problem?!" What am I to do? Cause a scene? You'll probably ask why I didn't request to speak with a manager. Well I'll tell you why. It was clear that the entire wait staff was standing in the rear chattering about our table. The glances were not coincidental. The gentleman, who appeared to be the owner, walked the entire restaurant greeting tables and patrons at the bar passing by our table dozens of times never once acknowledging us. I simply felt there would have been no recourse in notifying the manager/owner of the poor service we were being subjected to. Needless to say, our hard earned dollars will never be spent at this establishment again. read more

Dined here for the first time on Christmas Eve. We had reservations and were seated by a friendly hostess immediately upon arriving. We were given the option of which table we wanted on the porch facing Baltimore Pike; which was nice since we could have a window view (even if it was a view of Baltimore Pike!) The windows were very dirty and there was a "mildewy" smell that permeated the area. Our waitress did not seem to happy about working on Christmas Eve. She immediately asked for our drink orders. We were given the regular menu when seated and when our drinks were brought to us our waitress recited the specials of the night and did not indicate that the full menu was not available. My husband ordered the broiled seafood platter which was one of the specials and I ordered pasta with garlic and oil. The food came in timely manner. My husband's seafood platter was served with sliced potatoes that looked like they had been dehydrated and reconstituted (think Betty Crocker boxed potatoes.) A very odd accompaniment to seafood-he was expecting pasta since we were in an Italian restaurant. Other than the clam casino, most of the seafood was over-cooked. My pasta was cooked al dente but not drained well and the oil was watery. The pasta was served with jarred red pepper flakes and jarred parmesan cheese; which I declined. Back to the full menu being presented when we were seated. Since it was our first time there, we asked the waitress about the hoagies and pizza (for a possible future visit.) When she was describing how they are served there, as an aside she mentioned that they weren't available that night. There should have been a shortened menu with the available selections given to diners and not the usual full menu. May come back for the hoagies and pizza, but doubtful for the Italian food. read more

We came on a Saturday night, as a party of 7, when they already had reservations for several big parties. They tried very hard to accommodate us and finally were able to squeeze us in by creating a bigger table out of a booth. The whole staff, from the owners to the servers chipped in with serving our table. They were so friendly and made it a true family experience. The food was delicious and portions generous. The Scripelle soup was delicious!!!! Definitely going back but will call for reservation to make it easier on them. read more

First and foremost the food was great. The service was great. Prices were decent. BUT it was WAY too noisy for us. Maybe if there wasn't a large party going on but unfortunately there was and it really took away from our experience. Sorry Casa Mia. We've known of this establishment for a while but didn't entertain the idea of eating there until we came across a restaurant.com deal. What a mistake. We enjoyed our meal and drinks, ironically discussing how nice it is to support local family businesses. What happened next when we presented our restaurant.com certificate is unprecedented. The server told us that the certificate was not valid on alcohol, though it stated this no where on our certificate. She said she would go show the manager, and we assumed the matter would be resolved. After ten minutes, she returned and told us that her manager refused to accept the certificate. We politely asked to speak with the manager. The manager rushed over to the table with "her copy" of a restaurant.com certificate and asked us "What can I do for you that she didn't explain?" We replied that we would like our certificate to be accepted since this exclusion was not present on our certificate. She responded by showing us "her certificate" and telling us that discounting alcohol is illegal in PA. We tried to explain that we use restaurant.com all the time and a restaurant in PA has never made this claim. I am a law student at Temple, so I refuted this claim politely. She responded by mocking me. We also pointed out the fact that restaurants that choose not to include alcohol clearly display this on the website and every coupon. Then, the owner, who had been drinking beer at a table alone, since we had arrived, angrily approached our table and began yelling at us and emphatically waving his hands wildly. At this point, we explained that this was our first time eating there, and we were unlikely to come back. He replied "I don't care if you come back! You're no good for this place, and this place is no good for you!" Then, a random waitress stormed over to the table and started getting in our face, telling us that it says so on the certificate. Now surrounded by three hostile employees/owners screaming at us, we acquiesced to pay the bill and leave. The manager and random waitress left the table and processed our bill. The owner returned to his beer and continued to harass us from across the room. As mentioned earlier, our food and waitress were excellent, so it's understandable that other people have provided good reviews. But, good luck if you any problem with your meal and wish to get it resolved by management or the owner. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day..........not a good time to go. It was crowded and noisy but we made the best of that. However, the food was not very good and was pricey. Two items were good: the salads and my blue point raw oysters. My husband had lamb chops which was covered with a very salty sauce. His potatoes were big disks of thin fried potatoes and hardly worth mentioning. I however ordered lobster ravioli which I sent back. The pasta was thick and chewy(like rubber) and there was no way I would eat that. The waitress wanted me to pick another entree but by the time she came back to take my order, I had lost my appetite. She was very busy. The wine was a sweet reisling but is was so sweet it was syrupy. I doubt we will be back to that restaurant. read more

Would have been a great experience except for the veal. It was tough and chewy. Told the waitress, nothing done. Then the owner sat down, told him, nothing done. Ended up paying for an entire entree we could joy eat. I have been coming here for years and really enjoy the scrapple soup, but that's where it ends. Our experience other night was absolutely awful and I'll tell you why... 1) the "martinis" are not actual martini sizes. As us martini drinkers know, you fill to rim of glass, period. Not an inch below. 2) my caprese salad was awful, the mozzarella cheese was hard as a rock. Reason being, they use the cheapest mozzarella cheese money can buy. 3) my soup came out, cold, not warm but cold. 4) and the kicker? I ordered the meatballs along with my father. When mine came out they were red and extremely undercooked. My fathers were cooked thoroughly. When I told the server they were undercooked. He explains word for word "your meatballs are cooked, that's just the sauce we cook them in and since your fathers are more fresh and yours are older they had more time to sit in sauce" now let me get this straight, the waiter just told me I don't have fresh meatballs but my dad does?? Do I get the "not fresh" discount or something? Haha, the guy was a total kook of a server. Bottom line, if you want to have a fresh, delicious Italian meal this is 110% not the spot you want to go to. read more

I want to start off by saying I'm not usually one to complain ,but we visited Casa Mia over this past weekend this was our first time there . The food was very good better than most we have tried locally and the restaurant itself is very nice and cozy . Ok ,so the compliant I have is with the service it was slow and lacking ,and our waiter smelled overwhelmingly like a freshly smoked cigarette almost like he smoked two at a time . I wish someone else had served our food because the smell just about ruined my experience . All in all I would return I would just kindly ask for another server maybe one who doesn't smoke . read more

My wife and I were visiting a friend at the hospital across the street yelped this place up and were very pleasantly surprised. Great menu selection service top notch. The manager came over and asked us how we liked our meal the wait staff was always attentive but not intrusive and the food was outstanding. My wife had a coconut crusted fish dish which she loved and I had the double cut stuffed pork chop which I'm still thinking about a week later. Definitely recommended I'll talk about this place to my friends go and try this place it's great. read more
