My family stayed here for one night recently, as we were in town for the annual Ojai Tennis Tournament. Overall I think this hotel is pretty good and we enjoyed staying here. A few thoughts. 1) They said the pool was heated when I called to book but if it was it was BARELY heated cause it was pretty cold. But the jacuzzi was hot so we spent about 50 percent of the time in there. No big deal. 2) The rooms were clean and nice. The high ceilings make them feel big. 3) They had fresh cookies in the lobby at night. I thought this was a nice touch. They were good too. 4) The free breakfast in the morning wasn't extravagant, but it was a free breakfast so I didn't go in expecting a lot. It was sufficient for our needs. 5) The staff was very pleasant and had good customer service. Overall we did like this place and would go back for sure if we are in the area again. read more

We enjoyed our stay here in this pretty little town. The Inn was a good choice for reasonably priced lodging. -- friendly check-in -- complimentary beer or wine tasting nearby -- comfortable bed with double sheeted bedding -- large room with plantation shutters, nice decor and wood-look tile floors -- fresh cooked eggs and bacon breakfast wth other items as well The only down side was the low-end coffee and the hot water for tea that had a coffee taste. Stayed here for the weekend since my cousin got married nearby. Overall, I don't know what the complaints are all about because our stay was quite pleasant. Check in was easy and quick. Our room was ready, clean and cozy. Parking was easy. The beds were clean and soft as well as the towels provided. You would think that it would be noisy because of the area but it was really quiet during our stay which was much needed. My only complaints were that we had requested for a microwave when we booked the room but when we arrived, we only had a mini fridge. We didn't have much to heat up so we just used the microwave in the lobby. Second complaint is the noise between floors. I couldn't hear my neighbors next door but I sure as hell could hear the people above us walking around. My last complaint is that the shower presage was super weak. I get it, there's a drought but more pressure helps me rinse off better! Over all, we enjoyed our stay. Continental breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary (powdered eggs, microwaved bacon, cereal, bagels, etc) and there was no carpet in our room but the floor was so cold! Bring a good pair of slippers to walk around in! read more

Let's see, how shall I rate the Casa Ojai Inn? Well the room was nice, but being woken up at 6 am Sunday morning by the hotel clerks rather loud voice .... Or the fact that the jacuzzi was big, but it's temperature remained a solid 72 degrees....or the night clerks boyfriend who wished to "open a dialogue" with me After I had complained to the night clerk about the non functioning jacuzzi ? Came on the Living Social Escape and got two nights and a bottle of wine for $148 and it was worth every penny. I don't know if I would pay the standard price for this place, but at a discount it is definitely worth it. The place was clean, close to the city center (there is a trolley stop literally right in front of the inn), and also situated close to the mountain top where you can catch an incredible view. read more

No as good as the video in the website. The front desk people were very dry and short. The breakfast it was very poor. Wifi is no very good if you need to get some work done do not relit on it. We chose this Best Western for 2 reasons: 1) they had rooms available the nights we needed 2) it wasn't as pricey as any other place we found that did have rooms available. This was an "eco" hotel which I thought was pretty cool. They had a recycling bin in the room. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion came from wall dispensers in the shower and by the sink. No mini-packaged toiletries which I appreciated since I always think it's such a waste especially when they replace a bottle after you've only used it once. Other than that it was your standard Best Western, a step up from Super 8/Motel 6, but not as nice as the prices they charge. We booked this hotel about a week in advance prior to coming here. My mom and I booked a two queen bed room and my sister/her husband booked a one queen bed room. We stayed one night. Their amenities include: Use of the pool, complimentary coffee and tea, light breakfast, WiFi, two water bottles in your rooms, and renting bicycles. An amenity fee and lodging tax fee are automatically added to your total once you check out. We checked in late evening. Once I entered my room, the lights did not turn on nor were there water bottles in the room. We had to call front desk twice in order to try to get these problems solved. A hotel associate finally came to our room with water, but could not figure out how to get the lights to work. In the morning, when my mom went to take a shower, they did not refill the shower gel. The water was also very slow to go down the sink drain. During checkout, I told the hotel associate about my dilemma and she was nice enough to give me 10% off on my total price. Too bad we didn't see the 15% off of yelp until I wrote this review...... my sister and her husband enjoyed their stay though. Four stars for that..., free bike rentals, pet friendly, and thanks for breakfast. read more

Clean, convenient, and comfortable in the charming town of Ojai. Reservations were easy and the staff was very welcoming. I enjoyed my check in with Liz who was able to be professional and share pride in knowing the best of the local area. Having grown up in the area, she made good recommendations and our diinner down the street lived up to her hype. Thumbs up to Ojai Beverage Co with gourmet burgers and many beer and wine choices. Great find in a hurry! Please stay here! What hospitality. I needed a place to stay in a hurry after a mix up with my lodging After driving the long trek from San Diego I took a chance on this place. Seeing that it was so inexpensive I was prepared for a run of the mill on the lower end of ok hotel. Boy was I wrong. From the moment I walked in the staff treated me as if they were over joyed that I was there. Free warm cookies - YUM and a beautiful clean room. I even received a text on my phone after settling in to see if I needed anything else to make my stay more comfortable. The only draw back is that I was there for a very short time, not enough to take advantage of their free bike rentals, gym access, and wine tasting at a local restaurant. You can bet I will be back and am so impressed by this hotel. To the staff- amazing job- it is rare to have such great service and I will be recommending you to everyone I know who will be visiting the gem of town, Ojai. Thank you and see you again! read more

When I was registering the front desk person asked if I was staying due to the Woolsey fire in Ventura County and then said "that will be $225 dollars". No discounted rate in fact the rate was more than it normally would have been. What a shame for any business to profit off of another person's tragedy. The room was very nice and clean, well decorated and had a fridge but no microwave. Beware of the low toilet and the awkward placing of the toilet paper... The parking lot was full except in the very back of the building and where I had to park. For that amount of money guests should not have to contend with searching for a parking space and then carrying luggage quite a distance. You can get more for your dollar at other lodging establishments in Ojai but I unfortunately did not have any other options. For the price they charge I will pass on staying here again. read more

We stayed here one night and it was fine. It is clean and the staff is very helpful and courteous. We had to come up to Ojai at the last minute for a family emergency and called five hotels before we found a room here. The staff member extended a friends and family courtesy which was very kind. They have free wifi, a nice clean pool, free bikes, coffee and homemade chocolate chip cookies in the lounge area , and a hot breakfast. This is not a five star resort - however for the price we were very pleased. Also the bathrooms are modern and clean. The A/C unit was not an issue. Would I stay here for a romantic or anniversary weekend - no. But for a one or two overnight stay the Casa Ojai inn is great. read more

Comfortable, clean, and friendly check-in staff. An oasis in the mountains. Unfortunately the clerk (in the morning) was extremely unhelpful. We asked for a late checkout, she said No. we asked 'how about just until noon?' No. Well it turns out, the signage in the room says 'Checkout time: Noon.' So this girl with the big smile was literally not listening to what we were saying, she was just about saying No. that is understandable in two-year-olds, but not in adults in the hospitality industry. read more

This is a decent place for those on a budget. It's been revamped a bit to reflect an eco-slant, which is commendable. Although the property isn't new, they've managed to update the rooms to reflect a more contemporary feel. The decor is homey, with dispensers in the bathroom with eco-minded products, including low-flow showers and faucets. I found out they are in process of adding an indoor dining area for their continental breakfast, which is good, since sometimes the weather isn't conducive for sitting outside. The pool is solar heated, and was a bit too chilly for me and my travel companion (only 78 degrees while we were there), but according to the manager, they'll turn on the heater if it drops below 70 degrees. I guess some people prefer cooler pools. I liked the complimentary water in the rooms, which was a welcomed touch. There's free Wi-Fi as well, which I didn't have the opportunity to use. If you're looking for pampering, this isn't the place to go, but it will suffice to appease most travelers needs, and is thankfully located to the major downtown area which makes it convenient. There's a day spa across the street which is quite lovely, and a great way to spend an afternoon of pampering. Check out Feast Bistro while you're there, if you're in the mood for some fine dining. The New Oaks Ranch is a great getaway as well, sporting lavender fields and many fine products. read more

Hubby booked a little getaway here for us. Due to the pandemic it seems no one was here but 3 other cars so that was actually kind of nice. Check in was a breeze. Plenty of parking. Room was nice and spacious. Apparently we were "upgraded" but I am not sure from what because the room we had seemed pretty standard (in a good way). Nice clean floors. Table and chairs to eat at. Patio right outside your door which is nice for outdoor dining (maybe that was the upgrade?). Bathroom was clean. Shower water pressure was good and heated quickly. I didnt hear anyone else around so I dont know if the walls are just thick or if its because there were only 3 other couples nearby. It's on the main road but I didnt hear traffic at all so that was a plus. They left trail mix and waters for us which was also nice. Bed was a spring matress so not that comfy but not bad. There is a pool but it was too cold to use. Overall we will def come back again. read more

We stayed here two nights during our Ojai mini-vacation. As noted by other reviewers, this isn't an inn it's a motel. What it lacks in charm it makes up in other ways: friendly staff, free wifi, free bikes, a pool and jacuzzi, free water, afternoon cookies, complimentary wine tasting coupons and okay breakfast that gets your started. It's an affordable place to crash. The sheets are clean (and soft), the towels are clean and absorbent, there is ample counter space for the sink/vanity/coffee bar. The eco-touches are understandable. Overall, I've stayed at other budget inns, motels and roadside places that had a bit more charm in terms of the optics. read more

We've stayed here for years but lately have been beyond disappointed with the lodging, price hike and zero amenities. No housekpeeping service, no one on site after 7:00 pm, clogged drains, broken lamps, no longer serving even a continental breakfast and our recent stay in September was a nightmare. A large wedding party was booked and we were told to leave the pool area once they all took it over. Another guest actually called the police due to the noise level at all hours. We were awakened at 11:30 with a loud party taking place on our private patio. Drunks pounding on our door were obnoxious and we felt helpless and quite intimidated when they ignored our pleas to keep it down. Trash, bottles and cigarette butts littered on our patio with no one to assist us. We asked for a refund for that one night and they responded with an $80.00 discount off of our $900 bill. Very sad what's happened to this once beautiful location. The rooms are beyond tired and worn and the property overall is dirty. Sadly we will never return. read more

Spent three days here last week with husband and two sons, 13 and 9. Found it on hotels.com when we were planning a family trip from Michigan. Great place for a family. They got all the 'little' things right. Complimentary water and wifi in the room (that saved us about $20 a night from a chain). Nice continental breakfast - served poolside on the weekends. (another $30 a day for a family of 4). Beds nice and comfy, pool nicely maintained with wonderful views of the mountains. There is nothing corporate about his place, which is a plus for me as a frequent business traveler. I was on vacation and wanted to feel like it. We all agreed this would be our 'go to place' when we visit West Coast family. The rooms are funky - again very clean, but small bathroom, as mentioned earlier. But we found them charming and the staff was very sweet. read more

So many wonderful things about this place. They aren't stingy. They provide free bottled water daily in the rooms. They have a wonderful free breakfast. They have free bike rentals and, unlike others hotels, have more than 3 or 4. This place has like 20 bikes so you never have to worry about there not being any. The biking around town every day was the highlight of my trip. Room was super clean and has tile floors. I hate hotels with carpet. It's just gross. So loved the hard floor. Front desk staff is friendly (unlike the dirtbag Capri hotel down the way). There was no shortage of information on things to do. We even got a free wine tasting coupon to use for a place up the street. I will be staying at Casa Hotel upon my many returns to Ojai. read more

After a few days motorcycle ride down the California coastline from Washington state to get down Ojai to visit family, this hotel was a wonderful delight to check in to. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bed was hands down the best hotel bed I've ever slept in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff here is incredibly friendly, everything is very clean, and it is very quiet. I think this place would be an ideal place to stay on an overnight business trip, or if you were just passing through town...but I would not recommend it for a get away weekend, or for any extended stay. Overall the rooms just felt outdated, and I was disappointed that they claim to be pet friendly...but did not have any pet friendly areas outside of the actual rooms, and prohibited dogs from being in the pool/lounge area. I definitely give this 5 stars, for what it is (not a luxury hotel, but perfect nonetheless.) The room was clean with nice linens and comfy beds, with the plus of a window that opened in the shower! (oh, the little things!) We all loved the pool (and the nice, fluffy towels provided gratis) and the location was great. (We would have used the bikes if the hotel offered kid-sized bikes.) This is great spot. What ups it from 4 to 5 stars are the little things.. free cookies and coffee in the lobby, voucher for wine tasting, bicycles to borrow and ride into town. I won't cover the things covered in the other reviews. Nice rooms. I find it annoying that the other reviewers knock the place as if it should be a Westin or Hyatt. You have to take price into consideration. How can you complain about a free hot breakfast for under $200/night? A lot of places don't have free breakfast. Sometimes I think reviewers are idiots, you have to take price into consideration. If the bed is lumpy, or the room smells etc by all means mark it down. I will definitely be back. read more

There's a air fan in the restroom AND a window- nothing more uncomfortable when you're rooming with someone and feel like you have to hold it lol. Can't say enough good things about this place. We pulled in without a reservation after refusing a room at the hotel we had booked. We really needed an accessible room. They gave us a lovely room with an accessible bathroom that I wanted to take home with me. Great in room amenities. Good looking breakfast, although we didn't eat. Super comfy beds too. Stayed here for 2 nights over the July 4th weekend. Could have been a full 5 stars but gave it 4 stars because on the first night I found 2 bugs in my room. However, the next day there were no signs of bugs :) The pool is salt water, which is great!! Pretty basic continental breakfast, but I'm not much of breakfast eater anyway. Free COOKIES! Snacks, water, coffee...eco friendly which is always a plus!! Free wifi helped out alot trying to search for restaurants that were opened on the 4th. Pretty close to the shopping area, super close to the golf course. The staff were very accommodating and never hesitated to give us great suggestions on where to go and what to do. Just spent two nights at the Casa Ojai Inn and was very pleased with the value I received for my dollars! The Inn is well kept, clean, very quiet (slept like a baby), close to all of the shopping, restaurants and hiking trails and it's completely eco-friendly. They gave me a bottle of wine from a local vineyard upon arrival. The staff was friendly and the cleaning staff was quick, efficient and quiet. If you are looking for peaceful simplicity close to everywhere you would want to visit in the Ojai - Casa Ojai Inn is the place to stay. Just got back from spending two nights here this last weekend. For what the hotel is - a standard, nice, clean, hotel, it was great! Our room was very clean, bed super comfy, and staff was great. It was rainy this weekend and somehow there was a loud pinging noise (we think water hitting the air unit outside our window) that kept waking us up. We called down to see if anything could be done, and one of the staff members ran out to deal with it immediately, even tho it was cold, rainy, and 5 AM. That's great staff if you ask me. Everything was ok....until we tried to sleep. The room was decent....nothing special...but we came in looking for an affordable place to crash after golf at the ojai valley inn course. The sink had horrible water pressure. There were flow restrictors on everything. I can understand considering the drought...no bigggie. However, we were exhausted. We were going on 5 hours of sleep and 18 holes of golf. We both should've slept like babies, but we both slept awful because the bed was saggy and canoe like with wear. The pillows were soooo uncomfortable. Needless to say I wish I had spent the extra 200 to stay where we golfed. I still payed 180 for the room here and got no real rest. We were disappointed overall and wouldn't stay here again. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. It's too bad they don't just invest in some new mattresses. It would make all the difference. A decent nights sleep well worth a couple stars.....and my neck is super stiff. read more

We had a renovated two bed room first floor with patio. The renovation was done extremely well and i have seen some half *ss! hotel renovations. Their pool is very inviting but cold (not heated) AND refreshing on a hot day. It's a salt water pool which is a bonus because you don't smell like chlorine. I loved that they had bikes to use so we could ride into town which is too far to walk and too close to drive. The bikes had locks and baskets which made it easy to go shopping for souvenirs or treats at the Farmers market. It's a quiet property, staff is helpful and they are dog friendly which I appreciate. Very good value for the money. Good location between the "strip" and the Krishnamurti house which made it ideal for long walks. I was going to through Yelp and get the 15% discount, but they don't update their room availability on here, so it lures you in but you can't actually book a room. OK fine, I'll book through their website, but the online booking site keeps saying that there are more booking options that needs to be selected, but, the booking options are not meant to be all selected! So moral of the story, in 2019, this hotel has to be booked by phone, I'm moving on, no thanks. read more

Really nice staff! Very pleasant and accommodating. Great location! Very quiet and comfortable. Plenty of parking where my car was close and we didn't have to carry our bags far. They have the cleanest pool and spa I've ever seen! This was a short get-away for Valentine's Day. It was very romantic! They even told us a great spot to go and view "The Pink Moment" at sunset!!!
