We stayed one night over Labor Day weekend (Sunday-Monday) in a two-queen room. The rooms are very dated, though clean. The staff, however, was extremely unaccommodating. The day before checkout, we asked for a late checkout and were told 12:00 noon would be fine at no extra charge. Yet on the morning of checkout, staff knocked on our door at 9:30 a.m. to "confirm" if we still wanted late checkout -- even though regular checkout isn't until 11:00 a.m. When I went to the lobby to speak with the so-called manager (who looked barely 21), I was told checkout at 1:00 p.m. would cost $30, with an additional $30 per hour up to 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m., the charge would be the full nightly rate of $207. By the time I returned after discussing with my partner, the pricing had changed again. At that point, we decided to leave and checked in next door at the Hummingbird Inn -- where the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and updated, and the pool area was great. Highly recommend the Hummingbird Inn instead. I will not be returning to Casa Ojai. * Manager: 0 stars * Room: 2 stars (dated but clean) * Pool/Hot Tub: 3 stars

In follow up to my review above, q manager called me after the disastrous customer service received and apologized, refunded, and assured me this was not the way Casa Ojai treated prospective guests. As we began planing another trip this winter, I thought perhaps I should reconsider and rebook, as well as remove my review and give them another chance. Then they jumped in to reassure (in response to my review) that they still blamed me and wanted to argue with me about the weather and that the earthquake that yes, karmically, hit them after the horrendous storm just to drive home my point! I'm looking for much better service when traveling than I receive from this hotel.

Decent hotel located close to town. Ojai has a great bike trail that runs though the town and this hotel offers bikes to rent free for guests. You must check them out at the front desk. Front desk manager was friendly. Spa and pool are heated and my kids really enjoyed both. Rooms are clean and comfy. Walls can be a bit thin, so turning in the HVAC fan will create a nice quiet sleep at night. Shampoo, soap & conditioner dispenser mounted in the shower offers a more earth friendly alternative to all those tiny plastic bottle that guest end up taking home. No restroom located close to the pool. Also no continental breakfast. Decent place to relax and stay.

All hail Casa Ojai Inn! This is a beautiful, charming property with a warm vibe and a Spanish-style aesthetic, located in a quiet corner off the main street in captivating Ojai. The rooms are spacious, modern and beautiful. The bed is crazy cozy and comfortable! You can walk to nearby restaurants, bars and Westridge Market. The staff, highlighted by the Amazing Angeliese and Trilby, is excellent and attentive. You can also check out bikes, swim in their saltwater pool and soak in their hot tub. Check it out!

Nice little get away from LA. Walking distance from town and everyone seems really nice here. They loaned be their bike to run an errand. Parking looks right but there's lots of space around the back. Our room did smell of cloreen but overall I enjoyed this cosy little cottage.

Available rooms when i was told there were none

Extremely disappointed with the service. We have been staying here almost exclusively when my husband golf's nearby. Today was checkout and I called the front desk to ask for a late checkout which I would have gladly paid for. I was informed they could not offer it due to the hotel being completely booked tonight. I went to their website and there are at least 5 types of rooms available tonight. The front desk lady blatantly lied to me which is unacceptable. I will never be back, I will stay in nearby Ventura at either the Crowne Plaza or Marriott where I have never had a bad experience in all my years. Attached is a screenshot with the available rooms for tonight, as you can see they have availability

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

The photos on their website are also very misleading, the space is much much smaller than it appears. The shower, in particular, is incredibly cramped (roughly 3 by 2 feet), making it difficult to use comfortably. The air conditioning unit was so loud that we barely slept at night. I even attempted to host a Zoom meeting from inside, but had to cancel because the noise made it impossible to hear anything. When we raised these issues with the office, their suggestion was to open the windows, which only added insult to injury because of how uncomfortably hot it was inside. To make matters worse , when they eventually offered a partial refund, it came less than an hour before the time they required us to vacate, and we weren't even on-site at the time. After we informed them that we had checked out early, they offered an even smaller refund, which we have still not received a month later. Overall, a very disappointing experience. For a tiny airstream $500 for one night. The one day was advertised at little over $200 on their website. So yes they will let you stay one night but at the cost for two nights. How stupid is that? Their cancellation policy is nowhere to be found on their website or when booking. What a joke. Other hotels in town cost the same amount but at least there is a room that has more than 50 square feet of space to stay in, and a shower larger than the 3 foot x 3 foot shower they offer in these airstreams located in the industrial buildings area of Ojai. Oh and your view: Public Storage across the street. Dog poop in the rocks outside the airstream. Will never stay there.

I booked a room in October of 2025 for a wedding in May 2026 (May 21-May 23). I just received an email this morning letting me know I did not have a room due to construction going on in my particular room which began in January and will not be complete by the time I check in. Not only did Julia not give me any suggestions of where to go, she actually had a room available at a higher cost which she a) did not offer to me for the inconvenience b) did not offer it to me at a discount. Before she emailed me this should have taken care of. Julia's bad planning basically caused me to have to spend a lot more money or cancel the much anticipated wedding of a very close friend. Julia kept silent after apologizing (not profusely btw) for the "inconvenience" she caused. I should have not even heard from her until check in with a "i'm sorry but your original room is under construction so we gave you this better room" I gave the name of this hotel to 2 other people and booked so so far in advance. She did refund my money but it is Memorial day weekend and prices have skyrocketed and nothing is available. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated fairly. She had the nerve to tell me the room that was available was a lot more money with no discount nothing. This woman has ZERO business acumen and I can not say enough bad things about her in this one post. It was such an "Oh Well" attitude ...She had so many options to give a) offer me the room b) offer me the room at a discounted rate c) find me a room during the most crowded weekend and offer to pay the difference d) offer me a coupon to come back with a free night ........awful awful awful .....I hope the other people in the party cancel and find something else but they are probably stuck here because nothing is available.

It is very clean and the renovations were clearly very intentional with design in mind. It is an incredibly cohesive property. The rooms themselves are comfortable and I loved that the temperature was very adjustable. The bathroom was a bit bizarre. I will never understand the appeal to the shower design. It's the kind of shower that is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by half of a glass wall. Which just means, no matter how careful you are, the entire bathroom will be soaked. In terms of property amenities, the ample free parking was a huge plus. And the complementary bikes seemed great, thought we didn't get a chance to take advantage of them. There is a nice large field in the back which would be a great place to stargaze at night. We did check out the hot tub on the last morning, and I was very disappointed that it was hardly warm. The rooms come with a unique selection of snacks for purchase, but I was shocked to see they were charging $4 for the packet of instant coffee next to the kettle. I'm glad I noticed they were charging for that, because I would've assumed it was free. No chance that's worth it. There was decent coffee available in the lobby for free. When looking at a map, it showed it was only a 10-15 minute walk into the main stretch of town, so we planned to walk daily. Unfortunately, there is just enough distance on the road between the hotel and the downtown where there is no sidewalk, to a point where we felt it would be unsafe to walk at night. So we had to drive 2 minutes down the road instead. If they were able to create a path with a street lamp or two, that would make a huge difference! The staff was incredibly nice and I was glad they were able to help out with anything we needed! I did find it a bit odd that the hotel is only staffed 8AM-10PM. The jacuzzi was powerful and the chairs and lounges were comfortable. The final day I woke up to being bit by a bed bug I jumped out of bed and noticed I had one crawling on my night gown and panicked I went thru all of our luggage and woke him up to get up and on the bed we seen another 2 crawling on the bed. I was dumbfounded trying to figure out what it was since the office doesn't open until I don't know because I had to leave for work at 7am and Noone was there so I let my husband take care of the situation. By this time we still didn't know what those were. Once my husband decided to check out he said he went to the office and spoke to an office manager/owner and he showed her the bugs and her response was she had no idea what they were with surprise on her face so my husband being as kind as he is believed it. And at least for some rooms, the views are phenomenal! So one star for the service, one for the view - if you pick the right room - make sure to ask! Unfortunately, the grounds really, really need a landscaping overhaul. Similarly, the room interiors and window coverings seem tired. Their "European" breakfast seemed no better than a Holiday Inn Express. A lot of it is prepackaged stuff. The "assorted cheeses" are identical to the pre-sliced packaged stuff from Vons as is the bread and bagels. The only effort put into appears to be the hard-boiled eggs (unpeeled, of course). They could easily step it up several notches by sourcing pastries from locals, making oatmeal to serve, and getting a decent cheese and meat selection, but after the second disappointing day of the exact same thing we headed to town for breakfast. For us, the most off-putting thing was all the ridiculous signs everywhere! We counted 22 separate signs from driving in the entrance to opening the door to our room - four or five were helpful. And then there's all the signage IN your room (did you really need to label the ice bucket as "Ice Bucket"???). It seems like someone just went to town with a label maker and laminator. Maybe just us, but we felt it was tacky, unnecessary and detracting.
