Very cute, spacious hotel! Very polite customer service. Pool and jacuzzi very updated and pretty. They have a lot of sit down space outside! Great breakfast and lattes!

This hotel isn't exactly great nor bad. I guess that's exactly what you would expect for the price and a Holiday Inn. I never stay at Holiday Inn properties, but given we were only in town for 2 nights and not really going to be in the room, I decided to stay here. Other hotels were asking for $300-400/night and I was able to find this one for $150, so that's another reason why I decided on booking this place. There's a shopping plaza with a Target, Whole Foods and other stores/eateries about a 5min drive from the hotel. The hotel was pretty clean for the most part in common areas. I unfortunately can't say the same for the room, as it was just ok. There was some hair and dust bunnies underneath the bathroom counter and one of our bed sheets had a stain on it. I didn't make a fuss about it because I was tired from the 6hr drive, just wanted to shower and go see my family which I was in town for. You can tell it's an older hotel and you can also hear people in the hallways or the room next door. It's not super bad per se, but just mentioning it. The bed itself isn't too bad, but given that they have cheaper quality sheets and bedding, it was pretty rough and noisy when moving around at night. Again, these are all factors to consider when spending half of what you normally would at a more upscale hotel. Can't really complain! The best thing about the hotel was the pool no doubt. Don't think I've seen a bigger pool than this in a minute and with an actual deep swim area. Hot tub was a good temperature and pretty cool too. Parking was also complimentary which is kind of rare nowadays. Would I stay here again? If it was just me on another quick weekend trip, then probably yes... Would I bring my girlfriend here? Probably not. Again, you get what you pay for. I would've given this place 4 stars if it weren't for the dirty bathroom and stained bed sheet.

This property was previously Courtyard by Marriott. I think my favorite part about this property was the employees. Everyone was super kind and immediately greeted me when I arrived. Check in went smoothly and the lobby appeared clean and it was relatively quiet. Unfortunately, that's really all I could say positively about this place. When I went to my room, I noticed there were stains on the carpet. I have no idea how the carpet would've gotten stained because this place was recently renovated by IHG. The towels were horribly cheap and scratchy to the touch. The bedding was also cheap. The air-conditioning unit did its best to cool the room, but in order to get the right temperature I had to set it 2° cooler. I used the gym the next morning and upon entering I was immediately greeted with a horrible smell of sweat and body odor. It was a small gym and it absolutely boggles my mind why they wouldn't have some type of air filtration device in there. I had to prop open the door because the smell was so bad. All of the gym equipment looked old, outdated, and even rust was showing. They did however have a water dispensing machine in the room. The downside is that it looked absolutely filthy as though it hadn't been cleaned since the gym equipment had been purchased. The location was OK, and the property did have good security which made me feel safe. But all in all, this was my least favorite IHG stay .

Rooms are not cleaned daily by housekeeping, so don't expect that. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big. We tried to order drinks and food at the pool, but that wasn't available despite having order tags on all the chairs at the pool. They do have a small bar next to the pool, but I didn't venture over there. Towels are at the pool and there is an attendant there who takes your room number when you pick them up. But, they constantly leave and that's a problem as they take your room number when you pick them up! So, I'm hoping I didn't get charged for any towels I returned. On a positive note, the hotel has direct beach access and that was the highlight of our weekend getaway! You can walk directly from the hotel to the sand and you can rent beach at the hotel which is nice. The rest of the hotel, outside of our room was really nice.

We were bummed later to find out the swimming pool was under renovation, but the front desk called their sister property next door so we can use their swimming pool. It was an absolutely much bigger pool so we got extremely happy. The best part, we had the whole entire pool to ourselves. Then the weather shifted to a colder evening, but luckily the swimming pool was heated. Our evening became even better due to happy hour. My friend and I enjoyed $5 tequila sunrises. The bartenders were so generous with their heavy hands pouring mainly tequila in our cocktails. They do have a great happy hour menu! We really enjoyed our stay and this trip was a memorable one.

Overall, I had a good stay. The only downside is that many things in the room feel outdated, including the air conditioner, carpet, and bathroom door. The other only dining location that was better than this one was a hotel we stayed at in Dubai. The gentleman at the check in desk was more than happy to give us a 2nd floor unit with a kitchenette since it was there mistake. The room was very spacious and the kitchenette was awesome. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as described in other reviews but we had no issues at all. This establishment is near restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores so you can pretty much get anything you need. I was also very impressed with the Ice Machine, you have to actually use your key card in the machine to get Ice. There is a CVS across the street and please be advised there are railroad tracks about 100 yards from the motel. Traffic could be a slight issue because actual freight trains do come through the area. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!!!

This is something I wish hotels would do. The "excellent" rating stated is untrue. Our room was like a dingy motel room. We asked for a room away from the construction, instead every morning we woke up to constant beeping from a tractor backing up. Since it is a residential complex. I reserved a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment that comfortably accommodated three of us, and it could easily host a family of six thanks to its spacious layout and a convenient pullout couch downstairs. The amenities exceeded my expectations--shower pressure was excellent, making quick and refreshing showers easy especially if you're a big group. The condo includes utilities for four people, with plenty of towels provided (Thanks Tina). While there's no air conditioning, the ocean breeze just a block away kept the unit comfortably cool throughout our stay. A nice bonus was having a hot tub in each unit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Parking was also straightforward, with one dedicated spot included. A heads-up for warmer months: if you're sensitive to heat, keep in mind that summer temperatures can get quite hot, and the unit might feel warm without A/C. Additionally, because of the communal setup, it can get quite loud--sounds from neighboring units are audible--so don't forget your earplugs if you value quiet. Off-season, this spot is ideal for friends' getaways or a quick romantic escape. Overall, a charming and practical choice that offers great value and a fantastic location near the ocean.

Hospitality is not simply a service offered here--it is the very heart of the culture. From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth, welcoming smiles, and a level of kindness that immediately made us feel valued as guests. Every interaction with the staff reflected a sincere commitment to hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. It is evident that caring for others is not just part of their job description; it is something they genuinely embrace. We would especially like to recognize and thank Bridgette, who welcomed us upon our arrival. Bridgette went above and beyond to ensure we knew our way to our room, had everything we needed, and felt completely comfortable from the very beginning of our stay. More than that, she made us feel as though we were home for the night rather than simply guests checking into a hotel. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care exemplify what exceptional hospitality should be. Her guest service is truly stellar and deserving of recognition. Beyond the outstanding service, the location is ideal. In an era where photos can sometimes overpromise, Hotel San Buena exceeds expectations. The team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay.
